TAKATA RECALL. I WAS NOTIFIED OF A DANGER IN JULY 2016. THIS VEHICLE IS DRIVEN DAILY FOR BUSINESS BY MY GRANSON AND I AM AFRAID HIS LIFE IS IN DANGER DAILY. HOW CAN I LET HIM DRIVE THIS DANGEROUS VEHICLE? HOW CAN I GET FORD TO BUY IT BACK? MY FAMILY BUSINESS DEPENDS UPON THIS TRUCK YET I WANT THIS TRUCK OUT OF MY LIFE. HONDA HAD A SIMILAR RECALL AND THEIRS WERE REMEDIED IMMEDIATELY. HOW MUCH IS A LIFE WORTH? I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT FORD CANNOT GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF. THIS IS ONE OF 2 FORDS THAT I OWN AND I CERTAINLY CAN'T GET RID OF THEM WITH THIS MESS IN PLACE. SHOULDN'T FORD BE ACTING JUST A BIT QUICKER? TAKATA RECALL. I WAS SENT THE ORIGINAL LETTER FOR THE PASSENGER BAG RECALL IN JULY 2016. I JUST RECEIVED THE LETTER FROM TKH TELLING ME TO CONTACT MY NEAREST DEALERSHIP TO GET THIS FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERS IN THE LAS VEGAS AREA AND THEY SAY THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS. I HAVE CALLED ALL THESE NUMBERS GIVEN ON THE LETTER AND THE RECENT CARD, THAT JUST GO TO RECORDINGS TO TRY AND FIND HELP. THIS HAS AFFECTED MY LIFE GREATLY. HAVING JUST A TWO SEATER TRUCK, I AM NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE MY GRANDCHILD IN THE TRUCK WITH ME. EVEN THOUGH I AGREE, I WOULDN'T WANT TO RISK HER LIFE!! THIS HAS REALLY PUT A STRAIN ON OUR RELATIONSHIP AS WE CANNOT DO THINGS TOGETHER AND NOBODY WILL LOAN ME THEIR CAR. IN JULY, 2016 I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY ADVISING ME OF THE RECALL ON MY FORD RANGER DUE TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATOR SAFETY ISSUE, BUT GIVING NO ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. ON DECEMBER 28, 2017, (17 MONTHS LATER) I RECEIVED A FOLLOW-UP LETTER SAYING THAT PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE, BUT UNTIL PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE I SHOULD NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SET IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE LETTERS GIVE NO ESTIMATION OF WHEN THE PARTS MAY BECOME AVAILABLE. THIS DELAY IN REPAIRING A DEADLY SERIOUS DEFECT IS UNACCEPTABLE! THIS MAKES MY RANGER PRACTICALLY UNUSABLE SINCE I CANNOT ALLOW A PASSENGER IN THAT SEAT NOR CAN I PUT A BRIEFCASE OR OTHER OBJECT IN THE SEAT SINCE EITHER ACTION COULD CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO INFLATE IN AN ACCIDENT . THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE WHAT IF MY SON IS INJURED OR KILLED FROM THE AIRBAG....ALL WE GET TOLD IS SORRY! NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! NEED HELP ASAP!!!!!!

TAKATA RECALL I OWN A 2009 FORD RANGER. AROUND JUNE 2016 I WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE TAKATA AIRBAG HAS BEEN RECALLED AND FORD WILL REPLACE IT. I CHECKED THEIR WEBSITE CONTINUALLY TO GET THE LATEST UPDATE AND NOTHING HAD CHANGED. IN DECEMBER 2017, I RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THAT THE AIRBAG MAY RUPTURE DURING DEPLOYMENT SO IT IS ADVISED THAT NO ONE BE ALLOWED TO SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE AIRBAG HAS BEEN REPLACED. IT ALSO STATED THAT REMEDY PARTS HAVE BEEN DELAYED AND WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR CERTAIN VEHICLES IN SPRING 2018. I CONTACTED FORD FOR FURTHER INFORMATION. I ASKED IF MY VEHICLE AIRBAG WILL BE REPLACED IN SPRING AND IF NOT, THEN WHEN. THEY STATED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS THAN WHAT WAS STATED IN THE LETTER. THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT OFFER ME ANY ASSISTANCE OTHER THAN REPLACING THE AIRBAG, WHICH THEY WILL NOT EVEN PROVIDE ME WITH A DATE OR TIME FRAME OF WHEN THAT WILL OCCUR. WHEN I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED MY VEHICLE, I PURCHASED A 2 SEAT VEHICLE. IT HAS NOW BECOME A 1 SEAT VEHICLE ACCORDING TO FORD'S LETTER, WHICH IS NOT WHAT I PURCHASED. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND WITH PASSENGERS DURING THE PERIOD JUNE 2016 TO DEC 2017 UNAWARE OF THE RISK BECAUSE FORD FAILED TO NOTIFY ME OF THE DANGER UNTIL DEC 2017. THANKFULLY, THERE HAS BEEN NO SITUATION THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG. IT HAS BEEN 1 1/2 YEARS AND FORD HAS DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION. TRAVELING HOME FROM A TRIP OUT OF TOWN, WE EXPERIENCED A SLIGHT PULL TO THE RIGHT, WHICH ONLY HAPPENED ONCE AT THE BEGINNING OF OUR TRIP. WE WERE THINKING IT MAY BE TIME FOR AN ALIGNMENT. AS WE WERE TRAVELING HOME, WE STOPPED FOR GAS AND UPON RETURNING TO THE EXPRESSWAY AND GAINING SPEED, SOMETHING IN THE FRONT RIGHT OF THE TRUCK SNAPPED. THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE AND THEN THE TRUCK VEERED SEVERELY TO THE RIGHT. AS WE ATTEMPTED TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE TRUCK IT SLAMMED INTO THE CONCRETE WALL DIVIDING THE HIGHWAYS.
