I'm looking to buy this truck from a private sale. If I do, and the recall has not been completed, will the manufacturer still fix it for free?
HIGH BEAM LIGHTS FAILED ON, THE HI-LO BEAM SWITCH IN TURN, HAZARD, WIPER COMBO SWITCH LATER OVERHEATED, BURN UP, SMOKE IN CABIN CAUSING COMPLETE LOSS OF LAMPS, WIPERS AT NIGHT IN RAIN. CLEARLY A COMMON ISSUE BASED ON WEB. IF YOU ARE GOING TO SEND FULL LOAD CURRENT WITH NO CONTROL RELAYS FORCE A HIGHER STANDARD ON DESIGN MARGINS AND AND MTTF. YOU HAVE (4) HEAD LAMPS ON A CAR NO REASON A DESIGN SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO CAUSE ALL (4) TO FAILURE. FORCE MULTIPLE RELAYS, MODULES, AND CONTACTS, WIRING CIRCUITS AND FUSES. ALSO FIX THE BLINDING HEADLIGHT ISSUES. I SEE ALMOST NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LO AND HI BEAMS ON NEW CARS AND SEE SPOTS FOR 30 SECONDS AFTER PASSING CARS ON LO. SET STANDARDS AND FORCE CERTS ON EVERY NEW HEAD LIGHT DESIGN. DOT/NHTSA SHOULD BE LIABLE FOR ANY CRASHES RELATED TO BEING BLINDED WITH HEADLIGHTS
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Ranger. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158000 (Air Bags) however, the dealer wanted to charge the contact to complete the repair because the air bag was deployed. The contact stated that prior to the recall appointment, he had a crash with a deer which deployed the driver's side front air bag. The contact stated that he was driving at approximately 20 MPH during the impact. The contact stated that the deer crashed into the passenger side of the vehicle and only cracked the passenger side front headlight. The contact stated that the dealer was unwilling to complete the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 235,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
The airbags did not deploy during accident. I was injured. No, the problem was not reproduced or confirmed by dealer or independent service center yet. The vehicle was inspected by police. There were no prior warnings.
My vehicle has a safety recall the dealership refuses to repair and the manufacturer has been no help.
The spare tire fell off the vehicle, including the hoist, while driving down the road. The frame crossmember holding the hoist is rotted through, with virtually no other rust anywhere else on the body and frame. Yes, you can come see it at any time. I have not bothered taking it to a dealership. Since no property damage occured, I did not call the police. Unable to find a replacement crossmember- this vehicle is now out of service, as only the bumper and bed mounts are holding the rear frame together.
Took my 2011 Ford Ranger to the local dealer for the mandatory airbag and knee plate replacement pick up the vehicle they gave me paperwork saying the parts have been replaced happened to be working under the dash yesterday and found that parts were not replaced bolts were missing whether or not they removed anything or not I would doubt it and highly doubt that the airbags were replaced being as the main structural replacement wasn't replaced as the repair order says it was obviously there's a fraud involved here because the dealers claiming they repair the car per a safety recall and didn't or did a half-ass job and replace some parts or not all I don't really know is I'm not taking apart the steering column to get to the airbags but I do know that the knee plate which was should have been replaced and the repair order says was was not which makes me believe nothing was replaced I had issues right from the get-go trying to get this repair done now to find out it was fraud so I am now driving a 2011 Ford Ranger that is most likely as dangerous as it was before the airbags were supposedly replaced this needs to be looked into but I will not go back to that dealer especially after what I found I have paper documentation claiming they did the work but didn't please advise and investigate
The faulty airbag is unable to be replaced due to Ford not being able to get replacement parts. It puts me at risk every day that I drive it because if I got into an accident and the airbag deploys, it can project metal shards into my body which can be life threatening or even cause death.
Made several attempts with Ford Dealership to remedy the recall without success.
I live in Florida. It has been 15 months since Ford notified me that a second airbag needed replacing. I have not heard from them since then. This is not what I would consider a timely replacement. The truck is a 2011 and I'm 73 years old. I feel the Ford is trying to run out the clock on my repair.
Ford has failed to make a remedy available for a safety recall from 14 months ago

The manufacturer was contacted but provided no additional assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 161,484.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that on two separate occasions, the front bumper detached from the vehicle without incident. The first time the failure occurred, the contact noticed the failure before entering the vehicle. The contact placed the bumper into the bed of his truck and drove to the dealer where he had the bumper re-attached. Despite the repair, the failure occurred again and also discovered that the bumper was only repaired with duct tape. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 77,983.
HI, I BOUGHT MY 2011 FORD RANGER SPORT AT A CAR DEALERSHIP. I HAVE HAD IT FOR 3 YEARS, AND I PAY $340 A MONTH IN PAYMENTS. THE COMPANY THAT SOLD ME THE TRUCK IS NETAUTOMOBILE. IT WAS APPROX $18,000. I STILL OWE A LOT OF MONEY ON THIS TRUCK. I FOUND OUT THAT THE TRUCKS FRAME IS RUSTED BADLY, AND THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX THIS. I TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY TRUCK, AND LOVE TO DRIVE IT. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. When the Ranger pax airbag bomb was revealed I simply did not carry any pax until the pax airbag was replaced. Now I get the news that the driver airbag is also a bomb. And parts are not yet available. Why did DOT/NHTSA not order Ford to disable the airbag system until the recall could be completed? I'm supposed to drive around with an armed lethal explosive device, known to be fatal if activated, in the middle of my steering wheel until Ford gets around to replacing it. Am I missing something or are you guys all nuts? I wonder if you would please let me know how many additional people have died since you issued the recall on 2021-03-25 because you did nothing to stop it'.

I was notified in April 2021 that there was a safety issue with the driver side airbag. The notification stated that when parts were available Ford Motor Company would send me a letter to contact the dealer to have the repairs made. I have contacted my dealer at various times and the parts are still not available. I believe that the manufacturer has exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. I have not experienced a failure. Recall was issued almost a year ago (March 25, 2021). This is a potential life-threatening defect and apparently Ford still does not have the parts needed to effect the fix.

I WAS DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD. THE FRONT WHEEL ON DRIVERS SIDE FELL OFF CAUSING THE TRUCK TO ROLL GOING AIRBORNE AND LANDING UPSIDE DOWN IN A CREEK DOWN A 20 FT EMBANKMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NEW BRIGHTON FORD 1100 SILVER LAKE RD NW, NEW BRIGHTON, MN 55112 TO HAVE THE RECALL SERVICED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED, THE TABS USED TO SECURE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG PANEL WERE NOT SEALED. THE CONTACT BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE A MECHANIC WAS SENT TO PROVIDE THE REPAIR HOWEVER, NO REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE DEALER NOTIFIED THAT MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THEY WOULD PLACE AN ORDER FOR A NEW PART TO FIX THE ISSUE WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE CONTACT HAD YET TO HEAR BACK FROM THE MANUFACTURER. DOOR OPENED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT DUE TO FAULTY LATCH ASSEMBLY MADE OF PLASTIC. DOOR WAS CLOSED AND THERE WERE NO INDICATORS OF IT BEING AJAR UNTIL IT OPENED AT 35 M.P.H. ON A BUSY ROADWAY.
2011 FORD RANGER COULD BE RELATED TO FORD'S SAFETY RECALL NO. 11C18. : ON 09-06-19, DURING NIGHT TIME, A CO-WORKER FOLLOWING THIS VEHICLE REPORTED TO THE OWNER THAT ALL REAR TAIL LIGHTS; BRAKE LIGHTS, AND EMERGENCY FLASHERS HAVE STOPPED WORKING. ON-09-07- 2019, THE FUSES WERE CHECKED AND APPEAR TO BE GOOD. BACK UP LIGHTS WORK AND ALL DASH LIGHTS AND LIGHTS TO THE VEHICLE FRONT WORK. THE VIN FOR THIS 2011 TRUCK APPARENTLY IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT SOUNDS LIKE IT COULD BE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WILL BE TAKEN TO A FORD DEALER THE WEEK OF 09-09-2019 FOR REPAIR.
I'VE CONTACTED EMPIRE FORD OF ABINGDON VIRGINIA TWICE BY PHONE: ONCE ON AUGUST 27TH AND AGAIN ON AUGUST 28TH 2019, AND WENT IN PERSON TO THE DEALERSHIP ON THE 25TH OF SEPTEMBER 2019 AND PHYSICAL HANDED THEM MY VEHICLE REGISTRATION TO GET THIS RECALL TAKEN CARE OF. AS OF YET, JULY 2020, I HAVE HAD NO HELP GETTING MY RECALL FIX, AND YET, FORD CONTINUES TO FLOOD MY MAIL BOX WITH 'URGENT RECALL' MAIL. WORKING ON FRIENDS PU. 2.3L COMPLAINT STICKY THROTTLE. TURNING THROTTLE BY HAND AT JUNCTURE OF THROTTLE CABLE SHOWS OBVIOUS STICKING. DISCONNECT CABLE, STILL STICKS. CAREFUL OBSERVING REVEALED INTERFERENCE POINT BETWEEN THROTTLE ATTACHMENT AND UNRELATED LIFTING METAL IMMEDIATELY UNDERNEATH. FIX WAS TO IMPACT INTERFERING METAL VIA SOCKET EXTENSION AND HAMMER.
TAKATA RECALL: I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY PASSENGER AIRBAG REPLACED SINCE THE RECALL CAME OUT IN FEBRUARY AND I HAVE BEEN BLOWN OFF 3 TIMES BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE FIRST TIME I CALLED I WAS TOLD BY A SERVICE DEPT. REP THAT THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PARTS IN MARCH AND TO CALL BACK IN 5 WEEKS IF THEY DID NOT CALL ME. AT THE BEGINNING OF MAY I CALLED AND I WAS TOLD THEY HAD NO RECORD OF ME CALLING AND TALKING TO ANYONE AT THE DEALERSHIP. THEY ONCE AGAIN TOOK MY INFORMATION AND I TALK WITH A MARISSA. AGAIN I WAS ASKED TO CHECK BACK IN A MONTH IF I WAS NOT CONTACTED. LAST WEEK I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND ONCE AGAIN I WAS TOLD THAT NOBODY HAD ORDERED THE PARTS. THIS TIME SOMEONE NAMED CARLA TOOK MY INFORMATION AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO COME INTO SURPRISE FORD DEALERSHIP AT 7AM TO GET MY TRUCK FIXED ONLY TO FIND OUT FROM THEM THAT I WAS NOT IN THE SYSTEM AND NO PARTS WERE ORDERED. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE A SERVICE CENTER IN FLORIDA ANSWER THE PHONES WHEN THEY ARE BUSY AND THEY NEVER SET UP ANYTHING. NOW ALMOST 6 MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL I HAVE YET TO GET ANY ACTION DONE ON MY TRUCK NOT FROM MY PART. THIS IS REALLY A MESSED UP SYSTEM AND A WASTE OF MY TIME FOR NOTHING. WHEN SCHEDULING A RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG I WAS TOLD MY LOCAL DEALER WOULD NOT HAVE THE PART FOR 3 TO 4 WEEKS AND WAS TOLD TO TRY ANOTHER DEALER 15 MILES AWAY. FORD PUT ME ON A LIST AT THE LOCAL DEALER. THE RECALL(19S01 /NHTSA RECALL 19V-001) THAT I RECEIVED STATES BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER WILL BE REPLACED, THEY ARE ONLY REPLACING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND THAT A LOANER VEHICLE CAN BE PROVIDED FOR FREE. THE RECALL ALSO STATES DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE UNTIL THE RECALL REPAIR HAS BEEN COMPLETED. FORD WAS NOT WILLING TO ISSUE A LOANER VEHICLE UNTIL MY LOCAL DEALER WAS ABLE TO OBTAIN THE REQUIRED PARTS AND WANTED ME TO SCHEDULE AT A DEALER 15 MILES AWAY.

TAKATA RECALL. AFTER RECEIVING A RECALL NOTICE I PROMPTLY WENT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER (ANDY SHAW FORD IN SYLVA, NC) IN FEBRUARY 2019. AFTER MORE THAN A MONTH THEY TOLD ME TO COME IN AND THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. I CONTINUE TO RECEIVE RECALL NOTICES, ALMOST THREE MONTHS AFTER THEY SAID IT WAS REPAIRED (3/28/19). HOW DO I GO ABOUT DETERMINING WHETHER THE AIRBAG WAS ACTUALLY REPLACED OR NOT?
FORD HAS TOLD ME THAT I CAN ONLY GET THE RECALL WORK PERFORMED AT A FORD DEALER. I LIVE IN JUNEAU, ALASKA. WE HAVE NO FORD DEALER AND THERE ARE NO ROADS TO JUNEAU. AFFORDABLE AUTO REPAIR IN JUNEAU (907-790-9332 RUSTY, SRVC MGR) HAS ALREADY DONE SOME OF THE AIRBAG RECALL WORK (NOTICE #19S01), BUT FORD HAS NOW PUT A HALT TO THIS WORK BY AFFORDABLE AUTO REPAIR AND WILL NOT PROVIDE DEALER SUPPORT TO ORDER THE PARTS AND REIMBURSE AFFORDABLE AUTO FOR THE WORK. THERE ARE MANY FORD OWNERS IN JUNEAU AND WE ARE BEING PUT IN DANGER, BECAUSE FORD WILL NOT ALLOW THIS RECALL WORK TO BE PERFORMED AT ANYWHERE OTHER THAN A FORD DEALER, EVEN THOUGHT WE HAVE NO FORD DEALER IN JUNEAU AND NO ROADS TO DRIVE HUNDREDS OF MILES AND DAYS AWAY TO THE "CLOSEST" FORD DEALER. CALLED DEALER (SUNSHINE FORD-NEWBURG,NY) AND GOT AN APPOINTMENT FOR 3/19/2019, BUT THEY CANCELLED BECAUSE THE BAG DIDN'T ARRIVE. I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN THEY RECEIVED ONE. I GOT A SECOND NOTICE IN APRIL AND CALLED SUNSHINE BACK. THEY AGAIN SAID THEY WOULD CALL WHEN THE BAG ARRIVED. I GOT A POSTCARD FROM FORD, SO I CALLED AND EXPLAINED MY SITUATION. I WAS PUT ON HOLD WHILE THEY TRIED TO CALL THE DEALER. THEY TRIED TWO TIMES WHEN I WAS HOLDING BUT NO ONE ANSWERED. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY SPOKE WITH SUNSHINE, THAT WAS 5/21, I STILL HAVEN'T HEARD. NOW I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM NY STATE DEPT. OF MOTOR VEHICLES TELLING ME IT IS URGENT. WHAT MORE CAN I DO?

THIS 2011 FORD RANGER XLT 4 X4 IS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD & THE AMOUNT OF CORRISION UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK-BED IS RIDICULOUS, I FEEL LIKE THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD IT PARKED IN A 'LAKE', THIS CANNOT BE NORMAL FOR AN U.S. MANUFACTURER TO HAVE A TRUCK TO 'ROT' THIS QUICKLY!! I PUT A COMPLAINT WITH B.B.B. AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS NOT WHAT I WANTED TO HEAR. I HOPE SOMEONE CAN GUIDE ME WITH THIS ISSUE, THANK YOU
WE RECEIVED A SECOND LETTER STATING THE PART WAS READY AND TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP. WE DID SO, AND EVIDENTLY WE ARE NOW ON A LIST THERE! THIS IS REDICULOUS. I CAN'T RIDE IN HIS VEHICLE. HOW MUCH LONGER DO WE HAVE TO WAIT??????
THE ADVANCED TRAC LIGHT STAYED ON ALL THE TIME. TOOK TO FORD DEALER AND COSTED 100.00 TO CHECK LIGHT, THEY SAID WAS RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE, IT AFFECTED BRAKES, ADVANCED TRAC, AIR BAGS AND ANTI-TIP OVER DEVICE. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 3500 MILES ON IT. THE PART IS REDICULOUSLY PRICED!! 650.00 IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!
