TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD IN JULY 2016 STATING THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR IS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT IS NOW AUGUST 2017 AND THE REPAIR HAS STILL NOT BEEN DONE. I CONTACTED FORD AT 800-392-3673 (AS ADVISED BY YOUR REPRESENTATIVE DAWN AT 888-327-4236) AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE IS INCLUDED IN "ZONE A" BUT THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT YET AVAILABLE AND THERE IS NO AVAILABILITY DATE. THIS IS TAKING TOO LONG, AND I AM BEGINNING TO WONDER IF IT WILL EVER HAPPEN AT ALL.

A RUPTURED INFLATOR MAY RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. EFFORTS TO GET FORD TO FIX HAVE ALL FAILED.

TAKATA RECALL NOTICE WAS SENT TO US JULY 2016, AND WE STILL CANNOT GET PARTS FOR THIS REPAIR. THERE IS A DANGER TO ANYONE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS TRUCK IS REGISTERED UNDER OUR COMPANY NAME DANTIN ENTERPRISES, INC.
TAKATA RECALL. FORD TOLD ME THEY HAD REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAGS AND WOULD START REPLACING PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS. THAT WAS 8 MONTHS AGO. MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED, SO NO ONE CAN TRAVEL IN MY CAR WITH ME.
TAKATA RECALL: FORD SENT MY 1ST LETTER IN JULY 2016. IN DEC 2017 I RECEIVED A LETTER TELLING ME TO NOT LET ANYONE RIDE IN MY PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THEY RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE SINCE MY VEHICLE IS A 2 SEAT VEHICLE AND OFTEN REQUIRES MORE THAN 1 PASSENGER. I TRIED TO CONTACT FORD FOR A SOLUTION SUCH AS DISENGAGING THE AIRBAG OR PROVIDING ME A RENTAL CAR. THEY WOULD VOID THE WARRANTY AND RECALL IF I HAD THE AIRBAG DISABLED AND REFUSED A RENTAL CAR. SINCE THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE THAT OFTEN REQUIRES MORE THAN ONE PASSENGER I AM NOT ABLE TO RESOLVE THE YEAR AND HALF ONLY DELAYED RECALL? THE COMPANIES SOLUTION DOES NOT ALLOW FOR ME TO USE MY VEHICLE WITH DANGER OF INJURY (PASSENGER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT) OR FINANCIAL BURDEN (RENTAL CAR).

"TAKATA RECALL" FORD MOTOR COMPANY, ALONG WITH THE NHTSA, KNOWS THIS VEHICLE CAN BE A DEATH TRAP. FORD MOTOR COMPANY CHOOSES TO DISREGARD THE OCCUPANTS SAFETY, BY DRAGGING THERE FEET. I SUBMIT THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE REPLACED, AND TAKEN OFF THE ROAD NOW, NOT WAIT UNTIL PARTS CAN BE MANUFACTURED, SOMETIME DOWN THE ROAD AS THEY STATE. THE FORD DEALER SAYS THAT IT HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE PARTS NEEDED TO FIX AND FORD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE RECALL LINE SAYS THAT THERE IS NO ANTICIPATED DATE FOR THE PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS - FORD IS NOT PUTTING ENOUGH RESOURCES INTO THIS TO HAVE IT TAKEN CARE OF AND THEREBY LEAVES MY FAMILY WITH A CHOICE OF HAVING A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT USABLE OR IN THE ALTERNATIVE PUT OURSELVES IN SERIOUS DANGER.
