THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. NYLON FUEL LINE RUBBED AGAINST METAL RETURN LINE TO CREATE A HOLE AND VERY LARGE FUEL LEAK DUE TO HIGH PRESSURE. THE CLOSE CONTACT BETWEEN THE NYLON AND METAL TUBES APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN ERROR. WE LIVE IN A RURAL AREA WITH SANDY ROADS THAT ACT AS AN ABRASIVE.
WE HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH OUR 2011 FORD RANGER SINCE BUYING IT ON 10-24-15. NOTICE IT AFTER ONE DAY AND TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID IT WAS FINE AND WE WENT BACK ANOTHER TIME TO COMPLAIN AND THEY DIDN'T CARE. THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS ONLY WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. MY HUSBAND GOES TO WORK IN THE DARK AND WE LIVE IN A RURAL AREA. THIS ALSO AFFECT US USING TRUCK AT NIGHT. THE TRUCK WAS IN MOTION.
TAKATA RECALL DEALER KEEPS SAYING EVENTUALLY...FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS. THEY HAVE NO SCHEDULE. I DON'T BELIEVE THEY ARE EVER GOING TO FIX IT.

DRIVING 40 MPH DOWN CITY STREET, STRAIGHT, THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, WHICH I HAD 4 CAR LENGTH BETWEEN HIM AND ME, STOP FAST, I PUT ME BRAKES ON AND MY TRUCK WAS NOT RESPONDING. I PUTT BOTH OF MY FEET ON THE BREAK PEDDLE AND IT WENT TO THE FLOOR AND STILL NO RESPOND TO THE BRAKES. WELL, MY TRUCK HIT THE TRUCK IN FRONT AND THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK WAS ALL MESSED UP, NOT ABLE TO DRIVE IT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING TO THE STREET. AFTER THE TRUCK WAS FIX, THEY TESTED THE BRAKE BY PILLING EACH TRIES OFF CHECK ALL THE SPEC, PULLED THE ROTORS OFF AND APPLIED THE BRAKES TO EACH WHEEL ONE AT A TIME AND RAN THE CALIBERS OUT TO IT LIMITS AND INSTALL THE ROTORS, TIRES AND ROAD TESTED THE BRAKES CHECK OK AT THAT TIME BUT THE BRAKE WERE NOT AT 100% AND WAS STILL WERE SOFT A BIT. I ASK FORD DEALERS TO INSTALL A NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND EACH ONE REFUSED TO DO THAT, WHY, I ASKED? I RECEIVED MANY DIFFERENT ANSWERS, BUT NOT TO WHY THEY WILL NOT WANT TO INSTALL THE MASTER CYLINDER. SO, LEFT IN A AMAZEMENT! MONTHS LATER I HEARD ABOUT A RECALLS ON FORD TRUCK WITH BRAKES PROBLEMS, THEY EXPLAIN THE CONDITION OF THE PROBLEM AND MY TRUCK FIT IT TO THE (T). NOW THE BRAKES IN MY TRUCK IS GETTING SOFTER AND NOT WORKING VERY WELL AT TIMES. YESTERDAY, I MOVE THE TRUCK, I PUT THE BRAKES ON STARTED THE TRUCK AND THE BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN. SAME THING ALL OVER AGAIN. I AM VERY GLAD, I USED A DIFFERENT CAR. I WAS HURT BUT THE NEXT TIME I MIGHT BE GOING FASTER AND WELL, YOU GET THE PICTURE. HELP SOME ONE PLEASE!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD RANGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. AS A RESULT, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BEHIND THE CONTACT, CAUSING THAT VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT A SWITCH ON THE BRAKE PEDAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT PROVIDED WITH INFORMATION ON WHAT PART WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

WITHOUT WARNING, THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL BEARING DISINTEGRATED WHILE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH. I HEARD A LOAD NOISE IN THE FRONT, THE TRUCK SAGGED TO THE RIGHT, AND THE TRUCK AND STEERING SUDDENLY PULLED TO THE RIGHT SIDE, SENDING THE VEHICLE MOMENTARILY OUT OF CONTROL. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO OTHER VEHICLES TO THE RIGHT OF ME BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. AFTER SWERVING AND FISHTAILING, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK UNDER CONTROL AND COASTED OFF THE ROAD. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A FRONT END SPECIALIST AND HE SAID THAT THE BEARING WENT AND DESTROYED THE SPINDLE, THE SENSOR AND THE BRAKES. HE INDICATED THIS FAILURE WAS UNHEARD OF FOR A VEHICLE THIS NEW AND HE INDICATED IT HAD TO BE A FACTORY DEFECT IN THE BEARING WHICH CAUSED THIS FAILURE. I ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE FORD COMPANY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD RANGER. WHILE COMING TO A STOP, THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND THEN TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD RANGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE BED LINER DETACHED FROM THE BED OF THE VEHICLE AND LANDED ON THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,600.
I HAVE WAITED 2 YEARS FOR THE COMPANY TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME THE PARTS ARE NOT IN. I CANNOT USE THE TRUCK WITH A PASSENGER AS IT IS A DEATH SEAT IF WE GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. WE NEED TO USE THE TRUCK BUT CANNOT BECAUSE OF THIS AIR BAG DEATH TRAP. PLEASE WE NEED TO DISABLE THE AIR BAG UNTIL THE PARTS COME IN SO THAT IF WE DO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT THE PASSENGER IS NOT KILLED BY THE AIR BAG. WE NEED SATISFACTION IN THIS MATTER.
TRAVELING WEST ON I-80 IN NEBRASKA, SAW IN MY SIDE VIEW MIRROR BLUE SMOKE COMING FROM MY VEHICLE. DROVE APPROX. 4 MILES TO A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER AT A REDUCED SPEED. FOUND THAT THE FILL PLUG FOR THE TRANSFER CASE WAS MISSING. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, I HAD ALREADY DROVE APPROX. 670 MILES FROM OKLAHOMA CITY OKLAHOMA, THAT DAY. DEALER SAYS THE TRANSFER CASE IS "BURNED UP" AND THAT THE REPAIRS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER FORD'S PLATINUM WARRANTY. PHOTOS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. *TR
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AT THE TIME OF POWER LOSE ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING ABOUT 65 MPG. IT ONLY HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT HIGHER THAN 50 MPG. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ON SLOWER DRIVES IN THE CITY. WE BE TRAVELING ON/OR ABOUT 65MPG, THAN ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, THEN THE ENGINES FEELS LIKE ITS LOOSES POWER, POWER FALLS LIKE YOUR OUT OF GAS. WE PULL OVER, SHUTOFF THE ENGINE , THEN START IT UP AGAIN. CHECK ENGINE GOES AWAY FOR A WHILE THEN COMES BACK. WE PUT IT ON THE COMPUTER, AND IT BROUGHT UP THE CODE PIN POINTING THE PROBLEM. PART #101104000997 NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I REPLACED IT AND THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. HAVE YOU HAD ANY OTHER MUSTANGS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM? OR IS THERE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM? *TR
AIR CONDITIONING FAILED TO COME ON. UPON INSPECTION, CONDENSER HAD A HOLE IN IT. NO REASON WAS FOUND FOR THE HOLE OTHER THAN POOR QUALITY CONSTRUCTION. CONDENSOR WAS REPLACED TOTAL BILL WAS $656.99. NOT COVERED BY FORD OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. *TR
TRUCK SHIFTER IS STICKING, THE ANTILOCK LIGHT TROUBLE LIGHT COMES ON AND TRUCK WILL NOT SHIFT FROM PARK. MY SON WHO IS A MECHANIC SAYS THE BRAKE SWITCH IS BAD, YOU HAVE TO STEP ON BRAKE AND WAIT FOR A CLICK THEN THE VEHICLE WILL SHIFT INTO GEAR. SO I TRIED THIS AND INDEED IS THE ISSUE. THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS 40K MILES ON IT. PROBLEM STARTED AT ABOUT 30K MILES I DID NOT KNOW THAT THE ISSUE WAS A SWITCH. I JUST THOUGHT THE SHIFTER WAS STICKING. I HAD COMPLAINED OF THIS PROBLEM TO DEALERSHIP BUT IT NEVER WAS BAD WHEN THEY LOOKED AT IT. NOW IT IS GETTING TO POINT OF BEING A PROBLEM. THE TROUBLE LIGHT ONLY COMES ON AFTER TRYING TO PUT TRUCK INTO GEAR, THEN LIGHT STAYS ON FOR RANDOM AMOUNT OF TIME. TRUCK WAS STATIONARY TO BEGIN WITH. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE LOCATION IS, IT IS RANDOM TIMING WHEN THIS OCCURS.

THE CONTACT REPLACED THE FUSE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE VEHICLE SURGES FORWARD AND I HAVE TO STAND ON THE BRAKES UNTIL THE SURGING STOPS. THIS ONLY HAPPENS ABOUT EVERY 2 TO 3 HUNDRED STOPS. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS DRIVER ERROR BUT AFTER DOING IT SEVERAL TIMES I NOTICED THAT THE RPMS ON THE TACH WOULD STAY AT APP. 2000 THEN IT WOULD DROP DOWN TO 900 WHICH IS THE NORMAL RANGE. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL DEALER AND COMPLAINED AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM DURING A TEST DRIVE. THE PROBLEMS CONTINUES AND I AM AFRAID ONE DAY IT WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *TR

TAKATA RECALL NEVER GOT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG REPLACED! FORD SAID THEY CAN'T DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING INTO FAIRBANKS WHEN THE FUEL TANK EXPLODED. THE DAMAGE WAS EXTENSIVE ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE FRAME TO BE REPLACED. FORD WILL NOT TELL US WHAT HAPPENED OR IF IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. WE ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD RANGER EXTENDED CAB XLT. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 45 MPH WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE THE MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT A NUT HAD DETACHED FROM THE WHEEL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 3,000. UPDATED 03/16/12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED AS HE WAS DRIVING, THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY JERKED ITSELF OUT OF HIS HANDS AND PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THE CONSUMER ENDED UP IN A MUDDY DITCH WHERE HE SLID TO A STOP AGAINST A FENCE AND SOME SMALL TREES. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS NO COTTER PIN THAT SAFE TIED THE NUT THAT HELD THE WHEEL ON THE SPINDLE. UPDATED 04/20/12
WHEN BRAKING VEHICLE ACCELERATES IN FORWARD AND REVERSE. OCTOBER 2011, I WAS SLOWLY BACKING AND UPON APPLYING THE BRAKES VEHICLE SURGED BACKWARD ALMOST HITTING TWO MEN DIRECTING ME. THE NEXT DAY I CARRIED VEHICLE TO AN OPEN FIELD AND TRIED UNSUCCESSFULLY TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I ASSUMED DRIVER ERROR. SEVERAL DAYS LATER WHEN BRAKING GOING FORWARD AT ABOUT 25 MPH THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD. OVER THE NEXT YEAR THE DEFECT WAS NOTICED IN VARYING DEGREES. FOUR TIMES WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED THE ENGINE RACED. APRIL 2013 WHILE SLOWLY BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE I BRAKED TO AVOID A VEHICLE MOVING BEHIND ME. MY VEHICLE SURGED BACKWARD ALMOST HITTING THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME. LOCAL DEALER CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 900.
