TURNED THE IGNITION SWITCH ON AND SMOKE CAME FROM UNDER THE DASH, VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE GARAGE AND FOUND THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS TO BE BURNED. *AK
INTAKE BOLT BROKEN CAUSING COOLANT FLUID TO LEAK AND VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT.
SUBFRAME BOLTS RUSTED, CAUSING MOTOR, TRANSMISSION, STEERING COLUMN TO DROP/LOSS OF CONTROL.
FRONT SEAT RAIL BROKE.
REPLACED ENGINE MOUNTS, ALSO REPLACED REAR SPRINGS AND RUSTED FRONT SPINDLES. *AK
THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN. CAR WAS TOWED AND DAIGNOSED WITH A FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH.*AK *SLC
TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS.
DURING VEHICLE OPERATION THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BROKE OFF THE FRAME. *AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE UNDER THE HOOD WHILE STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT. NO INDICATION OF FIRE. ALL WIRING UNDER THE HOOD WAS BURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED.*AK
IGNITION SWITCH STUCK IN ENGAGED POSITION, BURNING OUT WIRES. ON ANOTHER OCCASION VEHICLE REFUSED TO SHUT OFF WITH KEY OUT OF IGNITION. AT BOTH TIMES BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED AFTERWARDS. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS.
REAR SUBFRAME MOUNTING BOLTS CORRODED AFTER RECALL REPAIRS.
ENGINE CRADLE MOUNTS BROKE.
I HAVE SERVICE RECORDS DOCUMENTING ALL FAILURES AND I SEE FROM NUMEROUS WEBSITES THAT OTHER TAURUS CUSTOMERS ARE FURIOUS AT MANY PROBLEMS OF THIS CAR. ADVERTISING BY FORD SEEMS ALMOST FRAUDULENT AND BASED ON NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REPORTED TO THEM I BELIEVE THIS CONSTITUTES DELIBERATE FRAUD. THOSE OF US WHO HAVE INTEGRITY HAVEN'T PASSED OUR LEMON CARS ON TO OTHER POOR IGNORANT SOULS BUT THE ENTIRE OWNERSHIP PERIOD OF THIS FORD TAURUS HAS CAUSED ME TO SUFFER SEVERE DEPRESSION AND STRESS AND HAS CAUSED INJURY ON AT LEAST TWO OCCASIONS. I'M AT THE POINT OF JUST DONATING THE CAR TO CHARITY FOR PARTS BUT I INTEND TO BECOME VOCIFEROUSLY INVOLVED IN LAWSUIT AGAINST FORD. NO WONDER THE TAURUS IS NO LONGER THE BEST SELLING CAR IN AMERICA. BUT I THINK IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET FORD FOR THIS. THEIR BEHAVIOR IS UNACCEPTABLE. NO SAFETY DEFECT MENTIONED. *AK

STRIKER/LATCH FAILURE, LEFT HAND DOOR DUE TO DAMAGE. *AK

FRONT BRAKE ROTORS BROKE, FROM CENTER HUB, CAUSING BRAKE FAILURE. *AW
CAR WAS PARKED AND CAUGHT ON FIRE. POWER STEERING RETURN LINE WAS LEAKING AND STARTED FIRE. *AK
FAILURE OF THE STEERING COLUMN, THE HIGH PRESSURE LINE IS LEAKING FLUID, CAUSING LOSS OF POWER STEERING. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE LINE . *AK
DURING FRONTAL IMPACT, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AUTOMATIC SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK/PASSENGER'S FRONT AUTOMATIC SEAT BELT DID LOCK. *AK
WIRE FROM PARKING BRAKE TO FIRE WALL SHORTED OUT, CAUSING FIRE. *DH
HUSBAND STARTED VEHICLE, TURNED IT OFF, WIFE SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING, SON SAID VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE, SOMETHING BLEW IN VEHICLE, FIRE DEPT PUT OUT FIRE. *AK
IGNITION SWITCH FIRE. *SD
DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT FAILS TO BUCKLE BECAUSE THE FEMALE END WILL NOT LATCH DUE TO FAILURE OF A SMALL SPRING TO ENGAGE THE LATCHING. 8AK
NUTS/BOLTS, RETAINER PLATE AND SUBFRAME RUSTED COMPLETELY THROUGH PRIOR TO RECALL NOTICE, CAUSING VEHICLE TO BE DIFFICULT TO STEER.
VEHICLE FIRE UNDER THE HOOD, POSSIBLY DUE TO STARTER HANGING UP. *AK
THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT GETS SO HOT THAT IT MELTED THE MOUNTING BRACKETS. PLEASE DESCRIBE. *AK

THE FRONT DISC ROTOR RUSTED OFF OF THE HUB ON BOTH FRONT WHEELS! I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN ON ANY OF THE OTHER APPROXIMATELY 20 VEHICLES I'VE OWNED. FORD HAS RECALLS FOR THIS IN NE STATES, WEST THROUGH WI. I LIVE IN EASTERN MN, ALMOST "SPITTIN" DISTANCE FROM WI.
