WHENEVER WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE IN USE, THEY WOULD STOP IN MID CYCLE. THIS WOULD CAUSE THE DRIVER TO HAVE POOR VISIBILITY. HAS TAKEN VEHICLETO DEALER & MECHANIC REPAIRED THE WIPERS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, IT WAS RIDING HARD. WAS PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY WHEN SWAY BAR CRACKED. TOOK TO A MECHANIC, NOT DEALER, TO HAVE VEHICLE CHECKED. MECHANIC NOTICED CRACKED SWAY BAR AND REPAIRED IT. *AK
VARIABLE ASSIST STEERING AND/OR ABS FAILED. DRIVER TOUCHED BRAKES UPON ENTERING OFF RAMP FROM FREEWAY. VEHICLE SUDDENLY SKIDDED TO LEFT AND STRUCK GUARDRAIL. DRIVER LOSS CONTROL AND VEHICLE HIT GUARD RAIL ON RIGHT.
RECALL COMPONENT FAILED PRIOR TO RECALL NOTICE (98V-009). MJS
HEAD GASKET FAILURE, CONSUMER LEARNED OF SERVICE PROGRAM 98M01 AND FEELS FORD SHOULD RECOGNIZE THE PROBLEM IN THE 1993 MODELS AS WELL AS THE OTHER MODELS DUE TO THE COSTLY REPAIR. *SLC
STARTER MOTOR FAILED RESULTING IN STALLING,.
FRONT SPRINGS BROKE TWICE WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AND TIRE WAS SLICED/ WENT FLAT EACH TIME. VEHICLE COLLAPSED TOWARDS STREET. PART OF SPRING WAS STICKING OUT. CONTACTED MANUFACTURER, AND SPOKE TO LISA 2209. WAS INFORMED DEALER WILL CALL TO REPLACE FRONT SPRINGS. REAR SPRINGS REPLACED 1/01/ FRONT SPRINGS BACK IN 1998.*AK BOTH REAR SPRINGS WERE BROKEN AND THE RIGHT SPRING WAS RUBBING TIRE. LATER ON, THE LEFT FRONT SPRING BROKE CAUSING THE TIRE TO BLOW OUT. THIS INCIDENT INDICATED THAT THE DESIGN WAS FLAWED. *YH

PIECE OF TRANSMISSION BLEW FROM WITHIN BLOWING A HOLE THROUGH THE SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION CASE, FORD WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT. *SLC
RECALL 98S15.COMPONENT THAT WAS INSTALLED TO KEEP SPRING FROM HITTING TIRE FILLS UP WITH SNOW/ICE, THEN SPRING ACTION IS LOST AND SPRING ACTION WILL BOTTOM OUT. VEHCILE STARTED TO SHIMMY DUE TO DAMAGED FRONT SPRING. DEALER CONTACTED AND IS NOT AWARE AND CANNOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS.PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
TURN SIGNAL SWITCH FAILED.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE WILL STOP, AND WOULD HAVE TO PUT INTO PARK TO RESTART, INCIDENT OCCURS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. DEALER STATES NOTHING IS WRONG AFTER CHECKING CAR ON THE COMPUTER, FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED AND OTHERS DIAGNOSED.
EA97-026; THE COIL SPRING BROKE WHICH ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *AK
RELATIVE TO YOUR CASE # PE99015, MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAVE INTERMITTENTLY FAILED FOR THE PAST 18 MONTHS. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS SIMILAR TO THE ONE DESCRIBED IN YOUR INVESTIGATION AND WANTED TO REGISTER MY PROBLEM AS WELL. THE WIPER UNIT IS THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER'S MODEL. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ABOVE 40-50 MPH AND HITTING ANY KIND OF BUMPS SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE WILL JUMP TO A HIGHER SPEED, AND THEN DRIVER WON'T KNOW AT WHAT SPEED HE WAS DRIVING. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER SAID THEY ARE WILLING TO FIX IT BUT AT CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. *AK THE SPEEDOMETER HAS FAILED TWICE AND IS DEFECTIVE EVEN THOUGH THE MANUFACTRURER OF THE VEHICLE HAS NOT ISSUED RECALL NOTICE YET. *YH

WHEN WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE IN ANY INTERMITTENT POSITION, THEY STOP, AND DO NOT COME BACK ON UNTIL RIGHT OR LEFT TURN SIGNAL IS USED.
HEAD LIGHTS, INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATION, EXTERIOR PARKING LAMPS, AND REAR MARKER LAMPS FAIL INTERMITTENTLY.

WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE HEAD LIGHTS MALFUNCTIONED DUE TO HEADLAMP SWITCH/CONNECTOR OVERHEATING. *AK
HIGH PRESSURE POWER HOSE MISROUTED FROM THE RACK AND PINION TO THE POWER STEERING PUMP, SWITCH WORN HOLE IN HOSE RESULTING IN LEAKAGE AND POWER STEERING LOSS.DESIGN FLAW CAUSING CHAFING.
FAULTY ENGINE GASKETS NEED REPLACING.
SPEEDOMETER SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING A CLICKING NOISE AND WHEN VEHICLE IS OPERATED ABOVE 50 MPH. SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE WILL MOVE UP AND DOWN, AND OCCUPANT CANNOT TELL HOW FAST THE VEHICLE IS GOING. DEALER REPLACED SPEEDOMETER ONCE. NEEDS TO REPLACE IT AGAIN. ALSO, PROBLEMS WITH HEAD GASKET WHICH WAS PART OF IMPROVEMENT CAMPAIGN OF 1994 & 1995'S. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.
THE ORIGINAL BRIDGESTONE TIRE EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION, OWNER REPLACED ALL TIRES, TREAD SEPARATION CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. *MJS

CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A 30 MPH FRONTAL COLLISION, RESULTING FROM BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELING TO THE FLOOR, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE IN WHICH THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER ALSO STATES THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED THAT FAILURE OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM WAS DUE TO THE MASTER CYLINDER . *AK PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS AND ALSO ADD VEHICLE IDENTIFCATION NUMBER.
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FUNCTION, BUT THE SWITCH IS MALFUNCTIONING. IT SOMETIMES WORKS AND SOMETIMES DOESN'T AND THE WIPERS WILL SHUT OFF INTERMITTENTLY ONCE I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TURN THEM ON. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS WHILE I AM DRIVING AS VISIBILITY BEC

VEHICLE EXPERIENCED PROBLEM WITH COOLANT LEAKAGES, VEHICLE TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP, AND INFORMED CONSUMER OF A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. *AK
ENGINE FAILURE, CAUSING VEHICLE FIRE.

WHEN DRIVING VEHCLE ABOUT 55 MPH, OWNER NOTICED A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM VEHICLE. WHEN TAKEN TO A MECHANIC, IT WAS STATED THAT THE MOUNTS WHICH SUPPORT THE MOTOR BROKE AWAY FROM THE FRAME. THE MOUNTS HAS BEEN REPLACED. *AK
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED THREE TIMES. *AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED FAILURE OF THE RECALL COMPONENT (98I-002- SUSPENSION: SOLID FRONT SPRING COIL) ON THREE OCCASIONS, WHICH CAUSED TIRE TO COMPLETELY SHRED AND EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO VEHICLE, PRIOR TO NOTIFICATION.
WHILE COMING TO A STOP THE FRONT RIGHT SPRING AND UPPER BRAIN BROKE, CAUSING THE TIRE TO BURST. THE FORD DEALER HAS REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. *AK
