BRAKE CALIPER BOLT FAILED DUE TO THREAD FAILURE.

ENGINE MOUNT FAILED, RECALL ON OTHER MODELS WITH LARGER SIZE MOTORS, VEHICLE DENIED.
AFTER DEALER INSTALLED SHIELDS UNDER CAR PER RECALL CONSUMER NOTICED BANGING OR KNOCKING NOISE UNDER CAR WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS.
REAR MOTOR MOUNTS BROKE ON TWO OCCASIONS, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WHEN DRIVING ON FREEWAY OR AT HIGH SPEEDS THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTS OR SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. DEALER HAS NOT SEEN. *AK
RECALL WORK PERFORMED ON THE GUARD FOR THE FRONT SPRINGS, HOWEVER GUARD INTERFERS WITH THE MOVEMENT OF THE FRONT STRUT CAUSING NOISE.
CAR HAS PROBLEMS SINCE 16,000 MILES. NEW DOOR SEALS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND ONE OF THE BODY SHOPS IN TOWN SAID THERE WERE MORE DUST LEAKS THEN HE'D EVER SEEN. CAN'T BE FIXED. TIRED OF MY CAR LOOKING LIKE I DUMPED 10,000 VACCUM CLEANER BAGS INTO IT. WE LIVE ON A GRAVEL ROAD, BUT YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS TO BELIEVE IT. TALKED TO OTHERS AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. WHAT CAN I DO. CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER CAR AND OTHER THAN THE DUST LEAK AND SOME OTHER MINOR PROBLEMS,IT'S BEEN A GOOD CAR. WISH THE PRESIDENT OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY COULD GO FOR A RIDE WITH ME. SPRING CATCHER BRACKET, WHICH IS THE CORRECTIVE ACTION FOR RECALL NUMBER 98I002000 COIL SPRINGS, IS CONTACTING THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
MYLAR COVER ON PUSH BUTTONS ON CLIMATE CONTROL PANEL CRACKED/FELL OFF, EXPOSING BACKLIGHT. FORD DOES NOT SELL REPLACEMENT BUTTONS, ONLY THE ENTIRE CONTROL UNIT MODULE, WHICH IS EXPENSIVE. THIS PROBLEM IS EXTENSIVELY DOCUMENTED ON LISTQUEST, ACCESSIBLE THROUGH WWW.SHOTIMES.COM. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED FAILURE OF CLIMATE CONTROL FAN OPERATING ON ANYTHING BUT HIGH SPEED. WHEN USING THE INTERMITTENT WINDSHIELD WIPER SETTINGS, THE WIPERS WILL NOT WORK UNTIL YOU MOVE THE CONTROL BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN OFF AND A MID RANGE SETTING. WHEN YOU TRY TO TURN THEM ON, YOU CAN HEAR A RELAY CLICKING, BUT THE WIPERS WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU HAPPEN TO GET THE CONTROL IN JUST THE RIGHT POSITION. THE NORMAL OPERATION HAS NOT BEEN AFFECTED BY THIS PROBLEM. *AK
TRANSMISSION FAILED WITH NO WARNING. STOPPED AT INTERSECTION AND COULD NOT PROCEED FORWARD OR BACKWARD. MOTOR MOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE IN THE PAST TWO YEARS. I SUSPECT THAT THE FAULTY MOTOR MOUNTS ARE ALSO THE CAUSE FOR THE TRANSMISSION. *AK
THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH LOCATED ON THE TURN SIGNAL/HIGH LOW BEAM SWITCH SOMETIMES DOES NOT WORK. YOU HAVE TO SHAKE THE SWITCH TO GET IT TO WORK AT TIMES.
INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF WINDSHIELD WIPERS TO FUNCTION ON ANY SETTING. THERE IS OFTEN A NOISE HEARD FROM UNDER THE I.P. THIS PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO @ APPROXIMATELY 15,000 MILES. THE WASHERS ALSO DO NOT FUNCTION. ADDITIONAL SAFETY ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE WHICH FORD MOTOR REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT ARE BRAKE SHUDDER CAUSED BY WARPED ROTORS & A LEAKING RACK & PINION STEERING GEAR. THE INTERMITTENT OPERATION OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. *AK
RECALL # 98V094000 FORD/FRONT COIL SRRING: CONSUMER STARTED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE AFTER RECALL WAS PERFORMED. AFTER TAKING VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER, CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT PROBLEM COULD NOT BE CORRECTED BECAUSE MANUFACTURER HAS TO ENGINEER ANOTHER PART TO CORRECT RECALL. *AK
RECALL # 98V094000 FORD/FRONT COIL SPRINGS; CONSUMER DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY TYPE OF PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE UNTIL RECALL WAS PERFORMED. DEALER IS NOT ABLE TO CORRECT CURRENT PROBLEM BECAUSE MANUFACTURER HAS TO ENGINEER ANOTHER PART TO CORRECT RECALL. *AK
WHEN THE WINDSHEILD WIPERS ARE IN OPERATION, ESPECIALLY ON HIGH SPEED THEY SLOW AND SOMETIMES ACTUALLY STOP, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE IN A HEAVY RAIN. *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS RETURN TO OFF POSITION WHEN SET TO INTERMITTENT AND TURN SIGNAL IS TURNED ON; INTERMITTENT WIPERS DO NOT TURN ON AT ALL POSITIONS OF INTERMITTENT AND THE WIPER RELAY CLICKS REPEATEDLY, SOMETIMES WHEN INTERMITTENT IS USED. *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS SLOW DOWN OR STOP COMPLETELY WHEN IN USE. I HAD THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR REPLACED DURING THE CAR'S WARRANTY PERIOD, BUT CONTINUED TO HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE SLOWING OR HALTING WIPER BLADES. PROBLEM CONTINUES TO THIS DAY. WHEN I TURN ON THE WIPERS THERE IS SOME HESITANCY WITH THE BLADES, AND ON OCCASION THE BLADES DON'T MOVE AT ALL UNTIL I TURN THEM ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES. THIS IS ESPECIALLY ANNOYING AND DANGEROUS DURING RAINY OR SNOWY TIMES. *AK
WHILE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE ON THEY WORK INTERMITTENTLY.PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AT ABOUT 20-30MPH, AND NEITHER DRIVER'S OR PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED UNTIL VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO PARK. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN SEEN. *AK
MANY TIMES SINCE I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD FREEZE IN MOTION WHILE IN USE. BY TURNING THE SWITCH THEY WILL UN-FREEZE. THIS INTERMITTANT PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED IN ALL, BUT IN THE "LOW" POSITION. IN THE LAST FEW DAYS, I HAD THE SWITCH REPLACED. ARTICAL IN THE NEWSPAPER PRECIPITATED THIS FILING. *AK

WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE TURNED ON HIGH, THEY CUT OFF. DLR HAS NOT SEEN. *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS DON'T WORK REGULARLY. THEY WORK IN SOME SETTING INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN YOU TURN THEM ON YOU SOMETIMES HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE SWITCH TO FIND A DECENT SETTING. WE HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE CAR RUNNING ROUGHLY, DYING AT STOPS, WORSE IN WET WEATHER, LURCHING AT STOPS IF NOT DYING AND IT SOMETIMES DIES WHEN SLOWING DOWN FROM HIGHWAY SPEEDS TO BELOW 30 MPH. HAVE HAD THIS "FIXED" SEVERAL TIMES BY MECHANICS. THEY SAY IT IS THE THROTTLE SWITCH OR MECHANISM AND THEY GET IT RUNNING FINE FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND THEN THE PROBLEM REAPPEARS. *AK

WINDSHIELD WIPER ACTUATOR FAILED.
SINCE JANUARY, 1998 MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD, GO AGAIN AND STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD AGAIN. THIS USUALLY OCCURS ON THE INTERMITTENT SETTING, BUT HAS OCCURRED ON THE LOW SETTING ALSO. IT HAS NOT HAPPENED ON THE HIGH SETTING YET. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER TO GET IT FIXED, BUT HE WANTED TO CHARGE ME OVER $500.00, SO IT'S NOT FIXED YET. ALSO, WHEN I TURN OFF THE WIPERS WHILE THEY ARE STILL GOING UP, THE WIPERS STOP IMMEDIATELY WHEREVER THEY HAPPEN TO BE ON THE WINDSHIELD. THESE PROBLEMS OCCUR EACH TIME I'VE USED MY WIPERS IN THE LAST 1 1/2 YEARS. *AK
