AT 52,000 MILES BOTH ENGINE MOUNTS BROKE, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO BECOME UNSTABLE. *AK
ENGINE HEAD GASKETS HAVE PREMATURELY BLOWN, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO MALFUNCTION. CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, IF THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON WHEN YOU PUT ON A TURN SIGNAL, THE HEADLIGHTS WILL OCCASIONALLY GO OUT, LEAVING YOU IN THE DARK. YOU HAVE TO EITHER TURN THEM OFF AND THEN BACK ON OR JUST MOVE THE SIGNAL CONTROL, UNTIL THEY COME BACK ON.
KEY GETS STUCK IN SWITCH AND SWITCH MOVES WITHOUT KEY. OIL LEAK COMING FROM HEAD AREA . ENGINE CHECK LIGHT COMES ON AT 65 MPH THEN GOES OUT WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN TO 55 MPH. FRONT END SEEMS LOOSE WHEN YOU HIT SMALL HOLES IN ROADWAY. *AK

AT 73,000 MILES THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND THE WATER PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
THE DOOR ON THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE WOULD NOT CLOSE PROPERLY, AND THE HINGES WOULD POKE A HOLE THROUGH THE MOLDING. THE HINGES HAVE BEEN REPAIRED ABOUT 8 TIMES. PLEASE PROVIDE FURHTER DETAILS. *AK
#PE 99 015; WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH BECAME DEFECTIVE, CAUSING THE WIPER TO COME ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY, AND WILL NOT RETURN BACK TO NORMAL POSITION, RESULTING IN LOSS OF VISIBLITY. *AK

WHEN INCREASING SPEED TO GET ON HIGHWAY, THE TRANSMISSION WILL SOMETIMES CAUSE THE FRONT END TO VIBRATE UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO THE NEXT GEAR. THIS ALSO OCCURS ALOT ON INCLINES. *AK
INTERMITTANT WINDSHIELD WIPERS SOMETIMES STOP AND I HAVE TO MOVE THE SWITCH TO ANOTHER SETTING TO GET THEM WORKING AGAIN. ALSO, THE WIPERS SOMETIMES STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF WIPING THE WINDSHIELD. *AK
RECALL 98V32300 FORD/REAR SUBFRAME CORROSION; DEALER DOES NOT HAVE PARTS TO CORRECT RECALL. OWNER HAS BEEN CONTACTED DEALERSHIP IN MARCH AND MAY OF 1999. *AK
INTERMITTENTLY AIRBAG LIGHT WILL STAY ON . THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
A PIN IN THE IGNITION CAME LOOSE. WHEN VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF AND KEY IS REMOVED, ENGINE CONTINUES TO RUN. MECHANIC REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. *AK

THE HEAD GASKETS ON THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED DUE TO NO HEAT OVER A MONTH & HALF AGO. TWO (2) WEEKS AFTER REPLACEMENT HAVE NO OIL IN LOWER HALF OF ENGINE, WHICH HAD LOWER THE PRESSURE. THIS WAS CAUSED BY THE NEW HEAD GASKETS. THERE IS A TSB BUT NOT FOR THIS VEHICLE.

REPLACED HEAD GASKET AND MOTOR MOUNTS, DEALER DENIED RESPONSIBILITY. WINDSHIELD WIPERS STUCK IN RAISED POSITION FOR THE LAST 40000 MILES. POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACED TWICE, DRAGGING REAR BRAKES, REPLACED ONCE, ACTIVE AGAIN. *AK

TRANSMISSION -- THE CAR HAD A CRACK IN THE ALUMINUM PISTON. THE CAR WOULD REV WHEN TRYING TO MOVE AFTER STOPPING AT A LIGHT, ETC. IT APPEARED IT SHIFTED INTO NUETRAL WHEN THE BRAKE WAS APPLIED. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS ACCOUNT OF THIS SAME PROBLEM ALL OVER THE INTERNET. I READ THERE WAS A RECALL IN 1995 FOR 1991 MODELS. BUT IF THEY WERE STILL USING THE ALUMINUM PISTON, WHY WEREN'T LATER MODELS RECALLED TOO? ALSO, WE STILL HAVE THE DEFECTIVE PART. THE MECHANIC SAID HE HAD DONE ABOUT SIX OF THOSE TRANS. WE LIVE IN A VERY RURAL AREA SO THAT SEEMS LIKE A LOT. SINCE I HAVE SEARCHED THE NET FOR THIS PROBLEM I HAVE COME ACROSS HUNDREDS WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS A LOT OF CONTRADICTORY INFORMATION OUT THERE. NOW WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER -- WE JUST HAD THAT FIXED AND I DIDN'T THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT THAT PROBLEM UNTIL I CAME ACROSS SEVERAL OF THE SAME, A LEAK IN METAL LINES THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE, WHILE LOOKING FOR THE TRANSMISSION DEFECT.

ENGINE LIGHT ON CONSUMER HAD EGR SENSOR AND MAP SENSOR REPLACED TO TRY TO FIX PROBLEM, HOWEVER LIGHT STILL ILLUMINATES. NLM
HEAD GASKET, RADIATOR AND INTAKE GASKET FAILED CAUSING LEAKING, COMPLETE VALVE JOB COMPLETED ALSO. MJS
WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, OWNER WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE MOUNTS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

I JUST READ ON CNN.COM THAT 1993 FORD TAURUS'S WERE UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR BEING PRONE TO INTERMITTENT WINDSHIELD WIPER FAILURE. I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT THAT WE HAVE HAD EXACTLY THAT PROBLEM WITH OUR 1993 TAURUS. SO YOU CAN ADD OUR CASE TO YOUR TABULATION. THANK YOU.

WHEN TAPPING THE TURN SIGNAL HEADLIGHTS COME ON. ALSO THEHEAD LIGHTS COME ON WHEN THE SWITCH IS TURNED OFF. WIRING HAS OVERHEATED. MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH HAS BEEN REPLACED, AND PROBLEM NO LONGER EXISTS. *AK
