THE THIRD TRANSMISSION HAS NOW FAILED. THE FIRST TIME SHORTLY AFTER OBTAINING THE CAR NEW. THE SECOND TIME AT AROUND 65,000 MILES (AT THIS JUNCTURE I WAS TOLD BY A RELIABLE SOURCE THAT FORD WAS AWARE OF THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM). THE THIRD FAILURE, AUG. 2003, HAS JUST HAPPENED AFTER REPEAT TRIP TO THE DEALER WITH FAILURE OF THE CAR TO MOVE COMPLAINTS, IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. NOW I'M BEING TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS SHOT AND THE MILEAGE WARRANTY IS NOT IN FORCE. THE CAR IS JUST A LITTLE OVER THE 12,000 MILE PERIOD BUT IS WAS NOT WHEN I BEGAN TO HAVE THE PROBLEM CORRECTED. THIS PERSON THAT I CONTINUE TO CONNECT WITH, WHILE CALLING FORD, IS NON RESPONSIVE AND REFUSES TO CONNECT ME WITH A SUPERVISOR. ALL SHE SAY'S IS "WE DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM" AND "I CANNOT SPEAK WITH ANYONE ELSE". I HAVE SPENT OVER $5,000 REPLACING TRANSMISSIONS AND I'M GOING TO GET SOME RESOLUTION. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE IN BRING THIS TO A POSITIVE CONCLUSION. THE INCIDENT DATE BELOW IS WHEN THE FIRST TRANSMISSION FAILED, 3 MONTHS AFTER GETTING THIS CAR NEW.
THINKS AUTOMOBILE IS A LEMON BECAUSE IT STOPS IN TRAFFIC CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. TT
VEHICLE HAVE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH VIBRATION UNTIL JUL 15,1998. VEHICLE BEEN IN/OUT OF DEALER SHOP ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, AND WAS INFORMED THAT NOTHING COULD BE FOUND. MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED AND CONSUMER RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. *AK
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH VIBRATION WHENEVER VEHICLE IS SLOWING DOWN OR APPLYING BRAKES. VEHICLE BEEN IN/OUT OF DEALER SHOP ON 12 OCCASIONS, AND 1 OCCASION AT AUTO REPAIRS. CONDITION STILL UNRESOLVED. *AK

WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS AND APPLYING ACCELERATOR PEDAL HARD, IT WOULD NOT RETURN BACK TO IDLE WHEN RELEASED. DRIVER HAD TO PUT VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL TO REDUCE SPEED. DEALER CLEANED THROTTLE LINKAGE, AND PROBLEM FIXED. *AK *ML

UPON DEPRESS OF BRAKE PEDAL, HEAD LIGHTS BLINK, DEALER SAYS IT'S INHERENT. TT
WHEN PUTTING ON THE BRAKE THE CAR ACCELERATES . TT

DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN IN AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE PROVIDE INFO ON BOTH INCIDENTS. TT

OWNER STATES THAT HIS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS PROBLEMS, DASHBOARD LIGHT GOES OUT AND THAT DEALER REPLACED ASSEMBLY BUT HE IS STILL HAVING A PROBLEMS. *AK
OWNER STATES THAT HER VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE DUE TO THE POWER STEERING HOSE COMING IN CONTACT WITH THE ENGINE, OWNER NOTES THAT HER FAMILY WAS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME, THEIR WERE NO INJURIES. *AK

DURING NORMAL OPERATION VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION SLIPS INTO NEUTRAL WITH OUT REASON. CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK
WHILE DRIVING WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM IS TURNED ON GASOLINE FUMES ENTER INSIDE THE PASSENGER'S COMPARTMENT. *AK
THE VEHICLE'S HORN DESIGN IS POOR IN THE LOCATION, AND THE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE NEEDED TO OPERATE IS ABOVE NORMAL DUE TO THE AIRBAG PLACEMENT AND DESIGN. *AK

STEERING WHEEL CATCHES ON TURNS.
THIS CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS PUT ON THE WAITING LIST FOR A MONTH. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET RESPONDED OR SENT THE PARTS. *AK
SHORT IN IGNITION SYSTEM.
SOMETIMES THE PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE, AND SOMETIMES WHEN THE DOOR CLOSES IT DOESN'T CLOSE ALL THE WAY. WITH THE CHILD SAFETY LOCK ON, THE DOOR WILL OPEN UP WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, AND WHEN THE DOOR FINALLY CLOSES THE DOOR WILL NOT REOPEN. *AK
VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK UNTIL THE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN.
SAFETY SELT STITCHING SEAMS CAME APART. CONSUMER CLAIMED SEAMS WERE COMING APART AT TIME OF PURCHASE OF VEHICLE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK
CONSUMER HAS HAD TROUBLE WITH VEHICLE STALLING, THE FUEL PUMP HAS BEEN REPLACED, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM IS STILL PRESENT.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WOULD STALL. OWNER NOTES OF NOISE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT AREA. WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT A ROD GASKET/PISTON FAILED. *AK
TRANSMISSION FAILURE.
AFTER VEHICLE IS AT STAND STILL ,VEHICLE WILL THEN ACCELERATE TO 12 MPH WITHOUT APPLYING GAS PEDAL. ALSO VEHICLE ACCELERATES HIGH IN REVERSE. DEALER FOUND NO PROBLEM. *AK

PANEL LIGHTS SURGE AND COME ON AFTER THE KEY HAS BEEN REMOVED AND NO ONE IS IN CAR, CAUSING THE BATTERY TO GO DEAD.
TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK. ALSO, REPLACED ENGINE OIL PAN GASKET. *AK
TRANSMISSION CLUTCH PISTON BROKE, TRANSMISSION FAILED, TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED.
HEADLIGHTS: WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE HEADLIGHTS WILL GO OUT FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 SECONDS. THEY WILL COME BACK ON AND STAY FOR A FEW SECONDS AND GO OUT AGAIN. WAS TOLD BY DEALER THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE RELAY SWITCH WHICH WAS CAUSING THE LIGHTS TO COME ON AND OFF. *AK
TRANSMISSION FAILED. IT WOULD SHIFT OUT OF GEAR AT STOPS. THEN DELAY GOING INTO GEAR, AND THEN LUNGE INTO GEAR VIOLENTLY. *AK
