THIS CAR HAS HAD HEAD GASKET REPLACED AT 56,000 UNDER RECALL #00M09. ACCORDING TO THE OUTSIDE REPAIR SHOP THAT I'VE TAKEN MY CAR TO FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS, THE ENGINE FAILURE IS DUE TO THE CRANKSHAFT NOT BEING PROPERLY FLUSHED WHEN THE HEAD GASKET WAS REPAIRED CAUSING LOWER END DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. HUNTINGTON BEACH FORD DENIES ANY RESPONSIBILITY . IF THE ENGINE FAILURE IS NOT A RESULT OF HEAD GASKET FAILURE, IT MUST BE A DEFECTIVE ENGINE BECAUSE I HAVE TAKEN IMPECABLE CARE OF THIS CAR AND HAVE ALL SERVICE RECORDS.*AKY
ALL RECORDS OF THE 3 SPEEDOMETERS PUT IN THIS CAR AT GREENHAW EDDINGS - THEY HAVE FULL SERVICE RECORD SINCE I PURCHASED FROM MY NEPHEW IN FL. WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. 2 SPEEDOMETER WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE 3RD ONE I HAD TO PAY HALF AND SUPPOSEDLY GREENHAW PAID THE OTHER HALF. I DID CONTACT FORD MOTOR ASKING IF THEY WERE HAVING SIGNIFICANT PROBLEMS. THEY SAID NO>. WHEN IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND I FELT FORD OWED ME REPLACEMENT TIL IT WAS FIXED. THE DEALER SAID NO. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID ON THE LAST ONE IT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN - I ASKED WHY -- HE SAID BECAUSE FORD HAD A NEW REPLACEMENT. SO THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS. NOW IS HAS OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS DOING THE SAME [XXX] THING AGAIN. WHEN DRIVING THE SPEEDOMETER ACTS LOOSE THE NEEDLE SWINGS BETWEEN 45MPH AND 70MPH. IT SEEMS TO ME THEY OWE ME RESTITUTION AND TO FIX THIS THING ... I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A PROBLEM AND CAN'T BELIEVE I AM THE ONLY ONE. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH FORD AND THIS MOTOR IF ANYTHING THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY PROBLEM THINK OF YOUR FAMILY DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE GASKETS LET GO NOT A PRETTY SITE THINK SAFETY FOR EVERYBODY S SAKE. *AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE HITS A BUMP IN THE ROAD THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE WILL JUMP BACK AND FORTH INDICATING DIFFERENT SPEEDS. NLM THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN, SB051230, REGARDING THIS CONDITION. CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH COMPLAINTS TO OPEN A RECALL. THE SPEEDOMETER ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED AT OWNERS EXPENSE AT $657.20. *TT

CONSUMER STATED THE DOOR PANELS AND MOLDING STRIP ON ALL 4 DOORS OF VEHICLE ARE COMING OFF, THIS IS THE SECOND REOCCURRENCE, AND THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. I BOUGHT THE CAR ABOUT A YEAR AND HALF AGO AND RIGHT OFF WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. GOT RECALL NOTICE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER TO GET RECALL REPAIRED, BUT DEALER WOULD NOT HONOR RECALL NOTICE. CONSUMER HAD ALREADY REPLACED THE PARTS, EXCEPT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER, PREVIOUSLY. CALLED DEALER, AND TOLD ABOUT REPAIRS. DEALER URGED CONSUMER TO BRING VEHICLE IN ANYWAY.*AK
ANOTHER 1995 FORD TAURUS, 3.8L ENGINE BLOWS A HEAD GASKET, MISSED THE SO CALLED EXTENDED WARRANTY BY 3 MONTHS, WHAT A SHAME, A MINIMUM OF 1,200 TO 1,500 DOLLARS, OH WELL. ANOTHER POOR SUCKER PAYING FOR FORDS ENGINEERING. AM I JUST UNLUCKY OR DOES FORD HAVE IT FIGURED OUT WHEN THIS ENGINE IS GOING TO BLOW? WELL I'M FURIOUS THAT I HAVE TO TAKE A SECOND LOAN TO REPAIR THIS CAR, THE FIRST LOAN WAS TO BUY THIS CAR. *AK *TR

DEALER "REPLACED" SPEEDOMETER AFTER IT WAS SHOWING SAME PROBLEMS AS WE'VE READ ON OTHER 95 TAURUSES. HOWEVER, THE ODOMETER STILL READ THE SAME -- DID THEY REALLY REPLACE IT? WITHIN ONE WEEK IT WAS HAVING THE SAME "JUMPY" PROBLEM. THEY HAD PREVIOUSLY "LUBRICATED" THE SPEEDOMETER CABLE, WHICH FIXED THE SITUATION FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. WE ARE TAKING THE CAR BACK TOMORROW TO SEE WHAT THEY SAY, NOW THAT WE'VE SEEN HOW MANY TAURUS OWNERS HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH SPEEDOMETERS.
I BROUGHT CAR IN TO CRYSTAL FORD FOR A VERY LOW NOISE PERIODIC THUMPING AS I DID ALMOST ONE YEAR AGO. ONE YEAR AGO THEY DID SOME MAJOR BRAKE WORK FOR THE NOISE BUT NOW FOR THIS SAME NOISE THEY SAID I NEED NEW SWAY BAR LINKS. THE STRAGE THING IS THAT AFTER I PICKED UP THE CAR AND BEGAN TO DRIVE HOME THE NOISE WAS MUCH MUCH LOUDER AND DIFFERENT FROM THE NOISE WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN. IT IS NOT THE PERIODIC NOISE BUT A LOUD GRINDING SOUND. HAS CRYSTAL FORD DAMAGED THE CAR TO EARN MORE FROM SERVICE? IF SO THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR THE CUSTOMER. IT IS VERY STRANGE THAT THE NOISE IS LOUDER AND DIFFERENT FROM WHAT I HAD WHEN I CAME IN. I AM APPAULED AT THE AMOUNT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE FORD TAURUS THAT I PURCHASED. I AM CURRENTLY WITHOUT A CAR WHILE I WAIT FOR THE FUSE IN THE RADIATOR TO BE REPLACED ( WHICH LEAD TO THE FAN MOTOR IN THE RADIATOR AND THE RADIATOR ITSELF TO BE REPLACED AS WELL). THE FIRST RECALL, WHICH WAS THE HEAD GASKET, TOOK A TOTAL OF THREE MONTHES TO BE REPAIRED, THREE MONTHES I SPENT HITCHING RIDES. IN THE LETTER, EACH TIME THEY HAVE PROMISED ME A RENTAL CAR, AND EACH TIME, NO CARS HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE, AND IF CARS ARE AVAILABLE, THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RENT ONE TO ME BECAUSE I AM A COLLEGE STUDENT WHO IS NOT TWENTY ONE. I AM DEEPLY OFFENDED AT THE FACT THAT THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY CAN GET AWAY WITH MAKING ME PAY TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS AND I AM STILL LEFT WALKING ON THE SIDE OF I-75 ON THE COLDEST SAY OF THE YEAR (HEAD GASKET INCIDENT). WHILE TRAVELING AT 60MPH ENGINE BLEWOUT, CAUSING VEHICLE TO STALL, ALSO ALMOST EVERYTHING WAS DOWN, CONTACTED DEALER. *AK DEALER STATED THERE IS A RECALL HOWEVER CONSUMER NEVER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE. VEHICLE WAS 29 DAYS OVER THE 7 YEAR WARRANTY. CONSUMER IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT. *TT
