WHILE TRAVELING 65MPH ON DRY ROADS FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE ORGINAL EQUIPMENT, GENERAL, AMERI G45 TIRE, TREAD SEPARATED, CAUSING DAMGE TO FRONT BUMPER. DEALER HAS YET TO BE CONTACTED. *AK GENERAL TIRE, P205/65R15, DOT NUMBER A34R442109. *SLC
THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REGISTERED SINCE IT WILL NOT PASS EMISSION. *JB (11/29/05) THE FRAME WAS TWISTED AND THE TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED. THERE WAS ALSO A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT. ON ANOTHER OCCASION A TIRE HAD BLOWN OUT. THE CONSUMER WAS DENIED REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE TFI MODULE REPLACEMENTS. *SC
FRONT BRAKE ROTORS WERE GOING OUT OF ROUND. HAD THREE SETS OF ROTORS REPLACED. DEALER NOTIFIED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
VEHICLE STALLS AT ANY SPEED. DEALER HAS EXAMINED VEHICLE 4 TIMES, CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM.*AK *SLC
HEADLIGHTS CONTINUALLY DIM WHEN BRAKING, WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONING CUTS ON, AND DURING TURNS. LIGHTING IS MINIMAL AT THESE TIMES AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE. THE CAR HAS DONE THIS SINCE INITIAL PURCHASE AND CONTINUES TODAY. THIS IS THE SECOND TAURUS WE HAVE OWNED WITH THIS PROBLEM. ONE DEALER TOLD US THAT IT WAS OUR IMAGINATION AND THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM.*AK

THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND BATTERY WOULD NOT HOLD CHARGE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT, THE NEXT DAY THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AGAIN CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL OUT WHILE DRIVING, THE NEXT MONTH IT FAILED AGAIN. *YH
A BLOCK IN THE ENGINE SHOULDNT CRACK WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF BUYING A VEHICLE UNLESS THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH IT EARLIER, IM RUNNING A BACKGROUND CHECK WITH LAWYER. PLEASE HELP. *AK
VEHICLE WAS OFF AND IN THE PARK POSITION AND COLLIDED INTO A VEHICLE AND POLE, CONSUMER STATES 1996 AND 1997 FORD TAURUS VEHICLES WERE RECALLED BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM, 96V166. *SLC
I COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS CAR THE DAY I BOUGHT IT. I TOLD THEM IT WAS A LEMON AND I WANTED MY MONEY BACK. THE DEALER REFUSED. FROM THE DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR (ONE YEAR AGO) IT IS HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR A TOTAL OF OVER 8 WEEKS. IT HAS HAD REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION, CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, GASKETS, PUMPS, HOSES, FILTERS AND IT STILL DOES NOT RUN. IT DOESN'T START PROPERLY, IF IT STARTS AT ALL. IT STALLS IN REVERSE AND INITITAL SHIFT INTO DRIVE DOES NOT RUN SMOOTH. THE WIPER FLUID DOES NOT COME OUT. THE CAR RATTLES AND SOUNDS AWFUL . THE CAR IS UNDER MANUFACTURER WARRANTY AND THEY WON'T FIX IT. THE CAR IS A LEMON THERE IS SOMETHING FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG WITH IT AND IT CAN'T BE FIXED. FORD KNOWS THIS AND THEY WON'T TAKE IT BACK.
WHILE CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING AT 5 MPH AND GOING OVER A SPEED BUMP VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, VEHICLE WOULD ONLY REV, BUT NOT MOVE. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER STATED THAT TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE. *AK
AT VARIOUS TIMES (SINCE 34000 MILES) THE ENGINE WILL REV BUT NOT MOVE FORWARD. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND STOP THE VEHICLE ALTOGETHER AND RESTART, OR RUN THE ENGINE HOPING IT WILL SHIFT INTO GEAR. ALWAYS HAPPENS AT FIRST GEAR, THE RPM NEEDLE IS AT THE TOP OF THE DIAL AND THE ODOMOTER NEEDLES STICKS AND DOESN'T MOVE. I HAVE HAD A FEW CLOSE CALLS ALREADY WHEN COMING OUT INTO INTERSECTIONS. HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED AT TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND AM TOLD A REPAIR CANNOT BE MADE UNTIL THEY ARE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEMS IS GOING TO GET ME KILLED. I AM NOW AT 53000 MILES AND IT CONTINUES TO GET WORSE. WHERE CAN I GET SOME ASSISTANCE. THE FIRST 3 CHECKS ON THIS PROBLEM OCCURED WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.*AK
WHEN I STARTED TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY I NOTICED THAT IT WAS HARD TO TURN. SO THEN I CHECKED THE POWER STEERING FLUID IT WAS EMPTY SO I FILLED IT UP AND IT LEAKED OUT AS FAST AS I COULD PUT IT IN. WHEN I HAD AN ESTIMATE DONE THEY SAID IT WAS THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND RACK. *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON INTERMITTENTLY WHEN TURNED OFF, ALSO STOP WHEN IN USE. TS
I AM UNABLE TO FILL THE CAR WITH GAS. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER LAFRES FORD FIRST APPOINTMENT ON 6/21/01. THE DEALER ASKED ME TO TAKE THE CAR AT THE END OF THE DAY. THEY ORDER A PART WHICH IS NOT ON STOCK. I WAS TOLD TO SLOWLY FILL WITH GAS. WILL CONTACT ME WHEN THEY RECEIVE THE PART. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO FILL IT, IT TOOK ME OVER HALF AN HOUR FOR HALF TANK 'EXTREMELY SLOW'. AFTER CONTACTING THEM THE FOLLOWING WEEK, I GOT AN APPOINTMENT TO REPLACE THE PART FOR 7/2/01. I LEFT THEM THE CAR FOR THIS PART AND ALSO FOR 15,000 MILES SERVICE. I PICKED THE CAR AT 2:30 P.M. AND THE INVOICE SHOWED REPLACEMENT PART 'XF1Z-9034-AA' PIPE ASSY-FUEL. WHEN I WENT TO FILL THE CAR WITH GAS I EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING. I TOOK THA CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AFTER 5 MINUTES. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAVE TO CONSULT ENGINEERING AN FORD FOR AUTHORIZATION TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK. TODAY ON JULY 6, 01 I GOT A MESSAGE ON MY ANSWERING MACHINE THAT THE CAR IS READY FOR PICKUP. WHEN I WENT TO PICK THE CAR, I WAS TOLD THAT FORD DID NOT AUTHORIZE THE TANK REPLACEMENT. THEY CAN NOT HELP ME. THEY GAVE ME A PRINT OF CASE # [XXX] WHICH EXPLAIN A PROBLEM WITH 1999 TAURUS/SABLE SLOW FUEL FILL. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AS I CAN'T LIVE WITH THIS EXTREMELY SLOW FILLING THE CAR WITH GAS. WHILE DRIVING ABOUT ANY MPH AND MAKING A TURN COULD HEAR A POPPING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT OF VEHICLE WHERE HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THEY COULD NOT FIND OUT WHAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. *AK *SLC
AT 30,000 MILES I HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION ON MY NEW CAR DUE TO THE PLASTIC PARTS THAT THEY ARE MADE OUT OF. I HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY SO THEY CHARGED ME $100.00.... I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN DUE TO THE CAR NOT ME CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I PAID $100.00 THEN ALSO. I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE PAID A PENNY EITHER TIME. THESE ARE THE CAR'S PROBLEM'S AND IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED. THEY NEVER TOLD ME OF A RECALL. NOT EVEN THE FORD I BOUGHT IT FROM WOULD TELL ME OF ANY RECALL'S. BY LAW THEY SHOULD NOTIFY ME, AND TELL ME IF I ASK. I WAS IN A WRECK ONCE IN THIS CAR AND I FLOORED THE CAR TO AVOID A HEAD ON COLLISION. THE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE PULLED ME FORWARD AND ONCE I WAS HIT THE ENGINE DIED AND I WAS IN A TAIL SPIN. THE ONLY THING THAT SAVE US FROM BEING CRUSHED BY THIS TRUCK, WAS ME PULLING UP OUT OF THE WAY BY MY SPEED. BUT THE ENGINE BEING SHUT OFF COULD HAVE KILLED US. IF YOUR ENGINE GET'S CUT OFF YOU CAN'T PULL YOUR SELF AWAY FROM THE OTHER CAR'S. THAT IS A DEADLY MISTAKE CUTTING OFF THE FUEL.
THE DRIVERS SEAT OF OUR FORD TAURUS IS BROKEN. THE SEAT BACK MOVES FORWARD AND BACKWARD INDEPENDENT OF THE SEAT ADJUSTMENT TRACK. THIS MOVEMENT REQUIRES THE CONSTANT ADJUSTMENT OF THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT WHICH IS VERY DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER WHICH INCREASES THE CHANCE OF AN ACCIDENT. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT THE SEAT MAY NOT HOLD UP IN AN ACCIDENT. THE DEALER I TOOK THIS TO BENNA FORD IN SUPERIOR WI REFUSED TO REPLACE THE SEAT. I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED FORD CORPORATE AND THEY HAVE ALSO REFUSED TO REPLACE THE SEAT. THE SEAT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER FORDS 3 YEAR, 36,000 MILE WARRANTY AS THE PROBLEM WAS SHOWN TO THE DEALER BEFORE THE 36,000 MILE MARK.*AK
BRAKES ACT AS IF THEY WERE NOT GOING TO STOP, FIRST TIME I CARRIED THE CAR BACK FORD FIXED THE BRAKES, SO THEY SAY. I CARRIED THE CAR BACK SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THAT AND THEY SAY THE FOUND NO PROBLEMS, I FINALLY HAD TO TAKE THE CAR AND HAVE THE BRAKES REPAIRED.. WHEN SITTING STILL, CAR PULSATES, DEALER SAID THAT THIS IS CALLED ERRATIC IDLING THE FIRST TIME I CARRIED IT, THEY SAID REASON UNKNOW. THE OTHER TIMES THAT I CARRIED IT THEY SAY THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. RACK AND PENION WENT OUT, FORD CHARGED ME 180.00 TO FIX.

AFTER DRIVING 60000 MAINLY FREEWAY MILES A SEAL FAILED ON THE RACK. BY THE MECHANIC'S DESCRIPTION, THE SEAL WAS NOT WORN. THE RACK WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP. *AK
CONSUMER WAS BACKING OUT OF GARAGE AND HEARD A NOISE, FRONT SPRING COIL BROKE AND WENT INTO LEFT FRONT TIRE. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM.*AK

AND BALL MOUNT STABILITY. THIS UNIVERSAL VEHICLE PRODUCT IS CALLED: WHITE NIGHT REVERSE LIGHT SYSTEM. PATENT NAME: SUPPLEMENTAL REVERSE LIGHT ISSUED JULY 27,2000 VIEWABLE AT WWW.CRUISERSTAINLESS.COM . BOUGHT FOR $75.00 . THE PROBLEM WITH THIS IS: THEY HAVE ADDITIONAL ATTACHMENT FEATURES FOR THIS LARGE HITCH RECEIVER COVER NOT COVERED BY THE PATENT. THIS PRODUCT PERMANENTLY BLOCKS THE VITAL VIEW OF THE HICH PIN, EMERGENCY TOW CHAIN AND STRUCTURAL STABILITY OF THE OEM STANDARDIZED - BEST SELLING AFTERMARKET TRAILER HITCH RECEIVER. MY ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED IF THIS PRODUCT THAT BLOCKED THE HITCH RECEIVER VIEW DURING TOWING DID NOT TAKE PLACE. THE OWNER OF THIS PRODUCT IS ROGER BYERS. IF THEY CONTINUE TO SELL THIS PRODUCT THAT COVERS THE HITCH WITH NO VIEW OF HITCH RECEIVER INSTALLED ACCESSORIES MORE LOSS OF TOWING TRAILERS, LIVES AND SAFETY INSPECTIONS OF THE HITCH RECEIVER DURING TOWING WILL CONTINUE. AIR CONDITIONER FAILED TO PERFORM WHEN TURNEN ON. HOT AIR BLEW OUT. AC IS USED ONLY HALF THE YEAR AS WE LIVE IN NY WHERE THE HEAT IS USED MORE THAN AC. $500. TO REPAIR. I BELIEVE THE ORIGINAL AC COMPRESSOR HOSE WAS DEFECTIVE. *AK

A REALY BAD SMELL IS COMING FROM THE VENTS WHEN THE HEATER IS ON TOOK IT THE DEALERS TO HAVE IT CHECKED THEY COULD SMELL IT BUT COULD NOT FIGER OUT WHY IT SMELLED STILL NOT FIXED. *AK
WHEN THE FAN FOR THE RADIATOR TURNS ON THE ALL THE LIGHTS DIM FOR A FEW SECONDS WHEN SHUTS OFF IT GOES BACK UP I TOOK IT TO FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE ALTERNATER AND THEY REPLACED IT WITH A USED ALTERNATER WICH THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRENT WHEN I GOT THE CAR AT NORMAL TEMP AND THE FAN KICKS ON IT STILLS DOES IT EVEN AFTER THEY REPLACE THE ALTERNATER SO I CALLED THEM BACK AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING IT IS NORMAL FOR THE LIGHT TO DIM BUT ALL THE OTHER CARS I HAVE DRIVEN HAVE DONE THIS. *AK
WARPED BRAKE ROTORS. CONTACTED DEALER, DEALER SAID THAT IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT THOSE BRAKES CAN WARP AT 10 THOUSAND MILES OR IN RAIN. ALSO THAT ROTORS CAN'T BE RESURFACED. *AK ROTORS WERE RESURFACED TWICE BY THE DEALER. *YH
WHEN DEPRESSING BRAKE PEDAL TO MAKE A GRADUAL STOP VEHICLE WILL SURGE FORWARD. ALSO, ENGINE RPM WILL IDLE HIGH.*AK THE SURGE OCCURS RANDOMLY AND WAS DANGEROUS. THE DEALER REPLACED IDLE CONTROL VALVE, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT SOLVED. *YH

NOTICED A FOUL ODOR COMING THROUGH VENTS. HAD OIL CHANGE, ASKED DEALER TO CHECK COOLANT. DEALER FOUND THAT OIL HAD LEAKED INTO THE COOLANT. DEALER RECOMMENDS REPLACING ENGINE.*AK
MY TAURUS LEAKS FUEL AFTER FILLING THE TANK. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROLLOVER VALVE, VAPOR CANISTER AND EVAPORATOR SOLENOID AND A HOSE CLIP ON MARCH 1, 01. IN OCTOBER 2001 I AGAIN NOTICED FUEL DRIPPING FROM THE TANK AREA AFTER REFUELLING. THE DEALER IS ORDERING A NEW TANK. FORD TECH HOTLINE SAYS THERE MAY BE ANOTHER DEFECTIVE ROLLOVER VALVE INSIDE THE TANK. THIS POSES A SAFETY HAZARD WHICH I BELIEVE SHOULD BE REPORTED.
LIGHTS WILL COME ON, AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL COME ON WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. ALSO, DOOR LIGHT AND DOME LIGHT COME ON. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF PROBLEM.

REPLACED ROTORS, NOW AWAITING PROBLEM TO REOCCURE. DEALER OFFERS NO CORRECTIVE ACTION OR REASON AS TO WHY ROTORS WARP SO QUICKLY OR NUMEROUS TIMES. JUST A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD TAURUS. THE DOME LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF INTERMITTENTLY, AND THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. *AK THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD GO UP AND DOWN AND WOULD COME ON INTERMITTENTLY. THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A LEAKING WINDSHIELD. *SC *JB
ON A TURN TO THE RIGHT GOING VERY SLOW, THE SPRING BUSTED ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE SPRING BROKE, IT PUNCTURED THE TIRE AND DAMAGED THE STRUT AND BEARING ASSEMBLY AVBOVE THE STRUT. THE VEHICLE WAS INOPPERATIVE AND I WAS STRANDED. FEEL VERY FORTUNATE THAT SPRING DIDN'T BREAK WHILE ON FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS. CALLED DEALER AND FORD HOTLINE AND BOTH TOLD ME OUT OF WARRANTY NOT THEIR PROBLEM.. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY A SPRING ON A VEHICLE CAN BREAK FOR NO REASON AFTER 39400 MILES.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 40-45 MPH, APPLIED BRAKES AND VEHICLE DID NOT STOP , PEDAL FELT NORMAL, REARENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE, MINOR DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. MECHAIC FOUND REAR BRAKES LOCKED UP. *AK THE BRAKES FAILED WITH ONLY 30000 MILES OF NORMAL DRIVING. *YH
