BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER, WHEN APPLYING BRAKE CONSUMER APPLIES ACCELERATOR PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME.*AK *TT
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION IN FEBRUARY OF 2001. WHILE STOPPED ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AND THE FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A COLLISION REPAIR SHOP WHICH STATED THE FRONT AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. PLEASE PROVIDE DETAILS. *PH
WINDSHIELD DEVELOPS A LEAK PASSENGER SIDE. I'VE HAD THE BLOWER MOTOR REPAIRED AND THE WINDSHIELD RE-SEALED BUT IS LEAKING AGAIN. WATER PUDDLES IN THE PASSENGER FLOOR. HEATER LOOSES HEAT WHEN BLOWER SPEED IS TURNED UP, THINK THIS MAY BE RELATED TO WATER ISSUE AS WELL. HOPE SOMETHING CAN BE DONE THE WINDSHIELD IS GETTING LOOSE AND DANGEROUS. *TR
2002 FORD TAURUS COILS BROKE AND PUNCTURED THE TIRE AND CONSUMER WOULD LIKE REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS. *KB THE YEAR BEFORE THE PROBLEM WITH THE COILS, THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT STABILIZER LIMB AND STRUT CONNECTION. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON HIS MAKE AND YEAR, THEREFORE, THERE WAS NO DEFECT. *JB

THE CAR IS LEAKING GAS FROM THE GAS TANK I FOUND OTHER PEOPLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR ON THE INTERNET.
WHILE TRAVELING AT NORMAL SPEED AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION VEHICLE STALLED. CONSUMER DEPRESSED BRAKES AND TRIED TO TURN STEERING WHEEL, BUT VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND, RESULTING IN A CAR CRASH. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
I RENTED A 2002 FORD, TAURUS FROM FEB. 22 TO MARCH 8, 2002. THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER POPS COMPLETELY OUT AND FALLS UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS CAN CAUSE A FIRE AND IT CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF THE DRIVER TRIES TO FIND IT WHILE DRIVING. I TESTED THIS LIGHTER OVER 10 TIMES AND THIS HAPPENED EVERYTIME.
HIGH BEAM LIGHTS ARE TOO DIM WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. *AK CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH POOR HIGH BEAM LIGHTS, THE MANAGER TESTED THE HIGH BEAMS WITH A LIGHT METER AND BARELY GOT A READING. *TT
THE 2002 FORD TAURUS WAS ON LOAN TO US WHILE WE WERE FIXING OUR 1999 FORD WINDSTAR. OUR 5 YEAR OLD (ALMOST 6) SON SOMEHOW WRAPPED THE BACK SEAT CENTER SEATBELT AROUND HIMSELF AND COULD NOT GET OUT. IN FACT THE SEAT BELT WOULD RETRACT AND LOCK THE SEATBELT ON HIM TIGHTER. MY WIFE TRIED TO GET HIM OUT AND FINALLY HAD TO USE SCISSORS FROM A NEARBY BUSINESS TO CUT THE SEAT BELT. OUR OWN INVESTIGATION SHOWED THAT IF YOU PULL ANY OF THE SEATBELTS OUT TO THE MAXIMUM AND THEN LET IT RETRACT, THE SEAT BELT CAN NOT BE RE-EXTENDED UNTIL THE SEAT BELT HAS BEEN FULLY RETRACTED. FROM WHAT WE COULD DISCERN WAS THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO MANUALLY RELEASE THE SEATBELT WHEN IT IS IN THIS "MODE". LATER DISCUSSIONS WITH THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THIS WAS A "SAFETY" DESIGN FOR CHILD CAR SEATS. THOUGH THIS IS GREAT FOR CHILD SEATS, IT COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR YOUNG CHILDREN (AND MAYBE SOME DISABLED PEOPLE) UNLESS THERE IS A MANUAL RELEASE MECHANISM FOR THAT SEATBELT. I TRIED GOING THROUGH THE CONSUMER RELATIONS AREA OF FORD AND AM NOT SURE THEY ARE PAYING ATTENTION TO MY CONCERNS FOR THEY BLEW ME OFF WHEN I REQUESTED THE $179 COMPENSATION FOR HAVING TO REPLACE THE SEAT BELT THAT I THINK IS FAULTY ANYWAY.*AK

THE DEALER REFUSED TO HONOR RECALL 03 V 087 000, BECAUSE THEY WERE BACKED UP WITH OTHER WARRANTY WORK. *JB *SCC

VEHICLE WILL SURGE FORWARD WITHOUT ACCELERATOT PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *AK
WHEN DECELERATING FROM HIGH SPEED VEHICLE SHIMMERS. CONSUMER STATES THE PROBLEM MAY BE WITH THE FRONT DISC BRAKES, BUT HAS NOT HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED BY THE DEALER. *AK
CONSUMER STATES VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHEN TURNING, AND THERE IS A FISH ODOR IN CAR. DEALER STATES THAT OIL IS BURNING ON THE MANIFOLD. *AK
VEHICLE TIRE EQUIPMENT HAS SEVERAL BLISTERS. *MR THE LEFT FRONT TIRE HAD 11 BLISTERS. THE CONSUMER HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER IN WHICH THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THE TIRES HAD BEEN DRIVEN WITH LOW PRESSURE. *SCC *JB
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING, CONSUMER BELIEVES THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *AK

WHILE SHIFTING INTO REVERSE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD AND COLLIDED WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND DEALER WAS UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED THE VEHICLE. *AK
