THE FRONT DRIVER-SIDE DOOR DOES NOT SHUT CORRECTLY, NEVER HAS. IT LEAKS RAIN WATER, AND IS LOUD DO TO AIR WHISPING THROUGH THE WEAK SEAL WHILE DRIVING. I INVESTIGATED THE SITUATION AND FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON DEFECT IN THIS MAKE, YEAR AND MODEL. I WOULD HAVE SUBMITTED THIS COMPLAINT IN PREVIOUS YEARS BUT I WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS WEBSITE. *TR
THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE, WHICH RESULTED IN A COLLISION. *JB
2003 FORD TAURUS SEL. 78K MILES IN GREAT OVERALL CONDITION AND NO HISTORY OF SERIOUS PROBLEMS. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH THE CAR'S TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY DISENGAGED LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I COASTED TOWARDS THE RIGHT SHOULDER AND TRIED CYCLING THE SHIFTER FROM NEUTRAL TO DRIVE. NO SUCCESS. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT THROUGH THE GEARS BUT THE GEARS WERE NOT ENGAGING. THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING. NO NOISES, NO BUCKING, NO INDICATION THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG. WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO HAVE HAPPEN ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. HAD THE CAR TOWED 80 MILES TO MY HOUSE FOR A COST OF 400.00. THE TRANS NEEDS A NEW TORQUE CONVERTER. ESTIMATE AT 1850.00. DON'T HAVE OLD PARTS. HAVE HUNDREDS OF EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL CAR. FORD REALLY NEEDS TO PONY UP AND MAKE THIS RIGHT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. ONE OCCUPANT IN THE VEHICLE WAS KILLED AND ONE WAS INJURED. THIS WAS A RENTAL CAR. *NLM...*AK *CB *NLM *PH *JB
RUST WAS FOUND ON THE ENGINE, WHEEL SUSPENSIONS AND PIPES OF A 2003 FORD TAURUS. *MR THE CONSUMER FOUND THAT THE NEW VEHICLE HAD RUST ON THE WHEEL SUSPENSION, THE ENGINE, AND PIPES. *SCC *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD TAURUS. THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES WHILE PARKED AND WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY INFORMED HIM THAT THE FIRE ORIGINATED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN OR UNDER THE DASHBOARD. HE HAS PICTURES, IF NEEDED. THE PURCHASE DATE, VIN, AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 23,000.
2003 FORD TAURUS HAS A BAD TORQUE CONVERTER AND TRANSMISSION. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACE AND THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 60,000 MILES ON IT BUT FORD WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *NJ
WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THE ABS AUTOMATICALLY KICKED IN AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. *JB
WHILE GOING DOWN A HILL THE VEHICLE SHIFTED FROM OVER DRIVE TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE GAINED SPEED AND APPEARED TO BE IN A "FREE WHEELING" MODE. THE DEALER STATED THE PROBLEM WAS THE IDLE AIR CONTROL. MR SCC *JB
FIRESTONE CONTINENTAL. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE FIRESTONE TIRES ARE ROUNDED OUT. THIS IS CAUSING VIBRATION IN THE STEERING COLUMN. *AK
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT IN WHICH THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL WELL AREA WAS IMPACTED YET THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE TWO OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED INJURIES. *MR *CB *NLM
THERE IS NO KEY LOCK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE. *MR THE CONSUMER REALIZED SHE DID NOT HAVE A KEY LOCK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. THE CONSUMER HAD A REMOTE CONTROL OPERATED OPENER INSTALLED. FORD INFORMED THE CONSUMER THEY WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE EXTRA CHARGE SINCE THAT FACTOR WAS PART OF THE DESIGN. *SCC *JB
THE FUEL LINE RUBBED ON THE BODY OF THE CAR WHICH CAUSED THE PAINT TO COME OFF. *JB THE FUEL LINE PRESSURE REGULATOR RUBBED ON THE RIGHT STRUT HOUSING AND CREATED SPARKS. *SCC *JB
WHILE COMING TO A LIGHT BRAKES MADE A GRINDING NOISE. WHEN GOING UP HILLS, AND WHEN COMING TO A STOP VEHICLE SKIDDED. MECHANIC SAID ROTORS WERE SEVERELY RUSTED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING, SOMETHING HIT THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR CAUSING A HOLE IN THE FLOOR PAN. *LA *SCC *JB
VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR A BURNING SMELL. MECHANIC STATED THAT THE OIL FILTER WAS DEFECTIVE AND LOOSE, CAUSING AN OIL LEAK.*AK
CONSUMER NOTICED AIR CONDITIONER (A/C) MOTOR STOPPED BLOWING AIR OR HEAT. DEALERSHIP SERVICED VEHICLE AND NOTICED SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. WHILE MOVING AT A SPEED OF 65MPH, DRIVER APPLIED BRAKES AND ENDED UP IN THE BACK OF A SUV, DAMAGING THE HOOD. VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP 3 OR 4 TIMES FOR BRAKE REPAIRS. MECHANIC SAYS "THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT EQUIPPED WITH ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. THIS EXPERIENCE OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY.
