THE CONSUMER NOTICED WATER LEAKING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE EVERY TIME IT RAINS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, BUT THE MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY, AND THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE PASSENGERS FLOOR, FUMES AND OR ODORS FROM THE WATER LEAKAGE, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD STALL OUT WHILE IN MOTION, THE OVERDRIVE WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY, THE BLOWER MOTOR MADE NOISES AND WAS NOT BLOWING PROPERLY AND THE TRANSMISSION JERKED. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED A REFUND. *SC *JB
18 MAY 2004, AFTER RAIN SHOWERS, VEHICLE BLOWER MOTOR QUIT WORKING. COULD NOT SEE OUT OF FRONT WINDSHEILD AFTER 15 MINUTES FROM CONDENSATION BUILD-UP. ON 24 MAY 2004, TOOK VEHICLE TO FOMOCO DEALERSHIP THEY REPLACED BLOWER MOTOR AND SAID A SEAL FAILED. *NM
WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDETERMINED SPEED VEHICLE STALLED. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED. *AK
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK, THE GEAR SHIFTER WILL NOT WORK; SPECIFICALLY THE VEHICLE STAYS "LOCKED" IN THE PARK SETTING. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND REQUIRES ME TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF OR ATTEMPT TO "RE-SET" THE BRAKE BY APPLYING THE BRAKE SEVERAL TIMES. ADDITIONALLY, AT TIMES THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAIN LIT AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PLACED IN PART AND TURNED OFF WITH THE DRIVER LOCKING THE VEHICLE AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINING LIT HAS CAUSED THE BATTERY TO COMPLETELY DISCHARGE. TO OFFSET THIS I'VE HAD TO REMOVE THE FUSE FOR THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS TO PREVENT THE BATTERY FROM DISCHARGING. I DID HAVE AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC EXAMINE THE ISSUE AND THE MECHANIC NOTED THE VEHICLE RECALL FOR A 2003 FORD TAURUS FOR THIS FAULT. WHEN I CONTACTED FORD I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A LOT IDENTIFIED AS IMPACTED BY THE VEHICLE RECALL. SPECIFICALLY THE VIN FROM MY 2003 FORD TAURUS WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 04V106000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THIS FAULT FIRST OCCURRED WHEN I WAS STATIONED IN JAPAN (2004 - 2007) SOMETIME IN MAY OF 2004 WHEN THE BATTERY DISCHARGED TO THE POINT THAT I HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY; I COULDN'T JUMP START THE VEHICLE WITH THE ORIGINAL BATTERY STILL IN THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE AT THAT TIME WAS 3,000 MILES. AS OF TODAY (AUGUST 10, 2017) THE MILEAGE ON THE 2003 FORD TAURUS HAS REACHED 104,000. REQUEST NHTSA REVIEW THE RECORDS FOR POSSIBLE INCLUSION OF THE LOT FOR MY VEHICLE FOR INCLUSION IN THIS RECALL. ADDITIONALLY, WISH NHTSA TO CONSIDER INCLUDING THE LOT OF MY VEHICLE FOR INCLUSION IN RECALL 03V087000 REGARDING THE WINDSHIELD ON MY VEHICLE. I HAVE REPLACED THE CABIN AIR FILTER AND THE BRAKE COMPONENTS SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, SO THE RECALLS ADDRESSING THOSE ISSUES ARE NOT APPLICABLE DUE TO REGULAR MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY.
INTERMITTENT HESITATION DURING ACELERATION. NORTH BOUND, TWO LANE CT 85. CLEAR, DRY PM. RESEVOIR TO MY RIGHT, TREES, SIGNALED FOR A LEFT TURN, NO ONCOMMING TRAFFIC. I SLOWED TO MAKE TURN, THEN ACCELERATED. I SAW A VEHICLE PULL OUT TO PASS, SEVERAL CARS BEHIND. MY CAR STARTED TO GAIN SPEED, THEN HESITATED, THE RPM STARTED TO BUILD UP. THE SUV STRUCK MY RIGHT REAR LIGHT, AND BUMPER. THE ACCIDENT SCENE WAS RUAL, OVER A MILE TO NEAREST DWELING. NO PHONE. OTHER DRIVER RETURNED TO SCENE. NO WITNESSES STOPPED. AFTER THE BODY REPAIR WORK WAS COMPLETE, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT SIMON FORD COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLE. PROBLEB MANIFESTED ITSELF 5 OR 6 TIMES ON THE WAY HOME. IT ALSO SHOWED UP DRIVING BACK TO SIMON FORD. DID NOT RECUR WHILE MECHANIC WAS WITH ME, FOR TEST DRIVE. PROBLEM HAS OCCURED ABOUT 12 TIMES SINCE. THE 2003 FORD TURUS CURRENTLY HAS 482 MILES ON IT. PURCHASED WITH 64 MILES, AND ACCIDENT AT 137MILES. WHEN PROBLEM OCCURS, AFTER ABOUT ONE SECOND RPM BUILDS TO ABOUT 1500 RPM, THEN HANGS THERE FOR ONE TO TWO SECONDS, BEFORE INCREASING. IT IS AS IF THE ENGIN CUT BACK TO TWO CYLINDERS, THEN INCREASES TO FOUR, AND FINANLY BACK TO SIX.*AK
THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION. THE DRIVER STATED WHILE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT HE LIFTED HIS FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE AND VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. *JB THE VEHICLE HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE REAR . THIS SAME INSTANCE RECURRED ANOTHER TIME AND ON THE TIME, THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PARK POSITION. FORD SUGGESTED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. *SC *JB
CONSUMER COMPLAINED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD CONTINUOUSLY ACCELERATE TO 200 RPM AND CAUSES THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT. VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER ON TWO OCCASIONS, BUT PROBLEM RECURRED. DEALER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND MANUFACTURER INFORMED THAT DEALER THAT WAS THE NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THAT VEHICLE. *AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 04V105000 REGARDING AIR FILTER PAPER WHICH COULD CAUSE A FIRE. NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. MECHANIC INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE PARTS WERE ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER.*AK
2003 FORD TAURUS HAS PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION, ENGINE BACKFIRING, HOOD LATCH IS BROKEN, AND SEAT BRACKET FELL OFF. *MR THE TIRES WERE CONTINUOUSLY GOING FLAT. SIX FLATS OCCURRED WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS ON A TRIP, THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND WOULD JERK IN TRAFFIC, THE ENGINE WOULD BACK FIRE INTERMITTENTLY AND STALLED ON ONE OCCASION, THE SEAT BRACKET WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER BUT FAILED AGAIN (THE SEAT BRACKET WAS INCORRECTLY INSTALLED FROM THE START), THE ENGINE ALSO DISPLAYED KNOCKING AND HAD TAKEN ABOUT 9 VISITS BEFORE THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT A VALVE WAS STICKING OUT. THE A/C DID NOT COOL, THE CONSUMER SMELLED COOLANT WHICH LEAKED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE TIRES AND RIMS WERE A PROBLEM AND THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN FOR REPAIRS ABOUT 18 VISITS/TWO REAR TIRES REMAINED A PROBLEM DUE TO SEVERE INFLATION PROBLEMS AND THE TIRES WOULD NEED TO BE INFLATED SEVERAL TIMES DAILY. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED ANOTHER VEHICLE. *SC THE GAS MILEAGE WAS POOR. TIRE LOOSING AIR PRESSURE FROM THE TIME OF PURCHASE. *TC THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON 2-25-06 AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. UPDATED 03/29/06. *JB
CONSUMER RECEIVED NHTSA RECALL 04V105000 REGARDING THE AIR FILTER. DEALERSHIP STILL DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO CONDUCT RECALL REPAIRS. *AK *LA
2003 FORD TAURUS SE - THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION HAS STOPPED TWICE WHILE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. I HAVE QUESTIONED MECHANICS AND THEY HAVE SAID THAT IT IS MOST LIKELY AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION'S COMPUTER. BUT IF THEY CAN'T REINACT IT, THEY CAN'T FIX IT. WE ARE NOW EXPERIENCING ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE NOW "JUMPS" FORWARD RANDOMLY. THE RPM'S INCREASE WHEN WE ARE BREAKING AND OUR FOOT IS NOT ON THE "GAS" PEDAL.*AK
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS WOULD STICK. THE CONSUMER WOULD BE UNABLE TO OPEN THE REAR DOOR LOCKS MANUALLY OR WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL. THE DEALERSHIP MECHANIC REPAIRED THE PROBLEM THREE TIMES, BUT THE CONSUMER IS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. REPAIRED WITH PART#4L37-13713-AA. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION.
HEATING SYSTEM DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. VARIATIONS IN TEMPERATURE ARE UP TO 20 DEGREES BETWEEN DASH VENTS. WHEN HEAT IS SET AT FLOOR AND DASH VENTS, DEFROST VENTS PROVIDE 60 DEGREES. THIS, AT TIMES, CAUSES WINDSHIELD TO NOT CLEAR SNOW AS IT FREEZES UPON IMPACT. VARIATION IN HEAT CAUSES DRIVER AND PASSENGER DISCOMFORT AND REQUIRES EXCESSIVE MANIPULATION OF CONTROLS TO MAINTAIN SOME COMFORT. THIS DECREASES DRIVER ALERTNESS. COLD FROM FRONT DEFROST REQUIRES DRIVER TO SEEK WAYS TO KEEP HANDS WARM, SUCH AS SITTING ON THEM OR WEARING GLOVES. FORD AND LOCAL DEALER ADVISE THERE IS NO PROBLEM.*AK
DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO PERFORM AIR FILTER RECALL 04V10500 REPAIRS BECAUSE THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. CONSUMER SPOKE TO THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY INDICATED THAT THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE.*AK *LA
DRIVER WAS STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND WITHOUT WARNING PASSENGER'S DOOR CAME AJAR. PASSENGER WAS ABLE TO SHUT THE DOOR. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO SHIFT. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED EVEN AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF CAUSING THE BATTERY TO DISCHARGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED, BUT THE CONTACT SPOKE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE LIKELY ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V106000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
WATER LEAKING ON FLOORBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT, I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR, THE LAST TIME WAS JAN 2004 AND I HAVE TO TAKE IT INFOR THE 5TH TIME ON THURSDAY FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED THE BLOWER MOTER AND CHARGED ME 50.00 DOLLARS FOR MY QUALITY CARE DEDUCTABLE, AND IM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. *AK

THE VEHICLE SHIMMIED/VIBRATED IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO WANDER ACROSS THE ROAD, WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEED OF 55 MPH OR MORE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER ON FIVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE DEALER ROTATED THE TIRES AND BALANCED EACH WHEELS, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. *JB
INTERMITTENTLY DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD DISENGAGE WITH OUT WARNING. THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD HAVE TO BE RESET IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE ENGAGED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXAMINED BY THE DEALER, WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK CHECKED VEHICLE WITH A FORD ENGINEER, BUT CRUISE CONTROL WON'T DISENGAGE. IT HAS TO BE SET AT 55 TO 65 MPH TO DISENGAGE. *LA
AT ABOUT 8000 MILES I WAS DRIVING MY 2003 TAURUS WHEN I NOTICED AN ELECTRICAL SMELL. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE AIR CONDITIONING OFF TO LISTEN TO MY VEHICLE. THE CAR SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS CONTINUALLY TURNING OVER WHILE RUNNING. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND REMOVED THE KEYS, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. I PULLED MY BABY FROM THE VEHICLE AND RAN. SMOKE WAS POURING FROM HOOD. THE MECHANIC SAID THE SOLENOID SHORTED INTERNALLY CAUSING STARTER TO ENGAGE. WE HAVE SINCE HAD MANY STARTING PROBLEMS. RIGHT NOW MY CAR IS IN THE SHOP FOR THE 11TH DAY IN ROW.THEY ARE ON THE SIXTH ATTEMPT TO FIX THE VEHICLE. THE CAR WILL CRANK, BUT NOT START. THE SECOND TRY IT WILL THEN SPUTTER AND START. THEY HAVE EVEN REPLACED THE COMPUTER AND THAT DID NOT FIX IT. ALSO THE TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 22,500 MILES DUE TO VIGOROUS SHAKING. THE WHOLE CAR WOULD START TO VIBRATE AT ABOUT 40 MPH. AT 75 ON THE INTERSTATE THE FRONT OF THE CAR WOULD SHAKE FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS THEN QUIT FOR 30 SECONDS. THIS ROUTINE CONTINUED THROUGH OUT THE TRIP. *JB
THE BLOW FAN MOTOR STOPPED WORKING IN MY 2003 FORD TAURUS. THE DEALER CHANGED THE PART DUE TO THE FACT IT WAS COVERED WAS UNDER A EXTENDED WARRANTY. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 1997 FORD E350 CARGO VAN. I HAD TO PAY FOR MY OWN REPAIR THAT TIME. WHY ARE THESE FANS BURNING OUT ON NEWER FORD VEHICLES? SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME OF THE SAME PROBLEM. *NM
FROM THE FIRST DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR, THERE WAS A VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL IN IDLE. WHEN I INQUIRED ABOUT IT, THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL BECAUSE I HAVE 24 OHV ENGINE. I HAD A 1999 TAURUS AND I DIDNT HAVE THE VIBRATION. I ASKED FOR ANOTHER CAR AND THEY SAID I COULD ONLY BUY ANOTHER ONE NOT "JUST GET ANOTHER ONE". I THINK THIS IS A LEMON. *LA
ENGINE SURGES UNDER CONSTANT SPEEDS. BRAKES SOFT IN MIDDLE OF PEDAL STROKE. DEALER SAYS BOTH ARE RELATED. SOFT PEDAL ALARMS DRIVER. 2 INCHES SUDDEN TRAVEL IN PEDAL CAUSES DRIVER TO OVER DEPRESS BRAKE TO COMPENSATE FOR SUDDEN "NO BRAKE" CONDITION. *LA

WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH VEHICLE HIT A TIRE IN THE ROAD, LOST CONTROL, AND HIT A GUARD RAIL. UPON IMPACT, FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES AND WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. *AK *PH
THERE WA CA CONTINUOUS WATER LEAK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE LEAK CAUSED ALL THE WINDOWS TO FOG UP AND OBSTRUCTED THE DRIVER'S VISION. THE DEALER TRIED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM FIVE TIMES BUT WITH NO SUCCESS. *AK *NM

WHILE DRIVING MY CAR (2003TAURUS), ANOTHER CAR RAN A RED LIGHT.. DUE TO THIS MY CAR HIT HIS PASSENGER SIDE. MY FRONT END WAS "INSIDE" HIS CAR, NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND NEITHER DID THE OTHER CAR. HE WAS ALSO DRIVING A 2003 TAURUS.

DRIVING 2003 FORD TAURUS. VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN MULTIPLE CAR ACCIDENT, DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AT IMPACT, HOWEVER PASSENGER'S DID. DRIVER WAS ALONE IN VEHICLE, INJURIES OCCURED TO DRIVER DUE TO IN-OPERABLE AIRGBAG.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65-70) WHEN ACCELERATING TO PASS, CAR BUCKS VIOLENTLY (AT 70K MILES ON ODOMETER). ALSO, RANDOM ROUGH IDLING SINCE DATE OF PURCHASE OF VEHICLE IN JULY 2003. AFTER TAKING CAR IN NUMEROUS TIMES TO DEALERSHIP WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE EVEN AFTER HOOKING UP RECORDER. DID MY OWN RESEARCH ON LINE AND DISCOVERED A FAULTY CAMSHAFT SYNCHRONIZER WAS THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A $400 REPAIR THAT FORD IS AWARE OF AS THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN ON IT. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RATE IS USUALLY AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES MAKING IT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONSUMER. I HAVE ALSO PERSONALLY SPOKEN WITH A DOZEN TAURUS OWNERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. LODGED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY WHO DID NOT RESPOND OR FOLLOW THROUGH. VERY DISAPPOINTED AS THIS COULD POSE A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM FOR CONSUMERS NOT TO MENTION CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE IF THE SYNCHRONIZER FAILS COMPLETELY. IF YOUR TAURUS HAS A ROUGH IDLE THAT IS INTERMITTENT AND THE DIAGNOSTIC SAYS THERE IS NO CODE, IT IS PROBABLY THIS PROBLEM AS THE SERVICE BULLETIN FROM FORD INDICATES THAT THE CAM SYNCHRONIZER DOES NOT THROW A CODE TO THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. ALSO, IF YOUR CAR BUCKS OR HESITATES ON HARD ACCELERATION OR THERE IS A HIGH PITCHED CHIRPING SOUND, IT IS THE CAM SYNCHRONIZER. IF YOU TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TELL THEM WHAT IT IS SO THEY DON'T CHARGE YOU AN ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTIC FEE THAT WILL SHOW NO PROBLEMS! IT'S BAD ENOUGH TO HAVE TO PAY $400 FOR A PART THAT SHOULDN'T FAIL, BUT DOES AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES. I WAS IN A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT WHERE A CAR TURNING LEFT CROSSED MY PATH AND WAS HIT. I WAS GOING 35-40MPH AND NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO HIT THE BRAKES. THE FRONT OF MY CAR HIT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF HIS CAR. I WAS DRIVING A 2003 FORD TAURUS THAT WAS TOTALED. I FRACTURED MY WRIST. THE AIRBAG NEVER CAME OUT.SHOULD IT HAVE?*AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WITHOUT WARNING VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF, CAUSING CONSUMER TO PULL OVER. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK

WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH VEHICLE SHUT OFF. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO COULD NOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. *AK
POSSIBLE DEFECTIVE BRAKES ARE A CONCERN. BEFORE THE VEHICLE HAD 3,000 MILES, THE ROTORS WERE CUT. THAT IS UNHEARD OF FOR A CAR WITH SO LITTLE MILEAGE, AT LEAST TO ME. WE STILL HEAR GRINDING NOISES ON A HARD BRAKE IN THE RIGHT FRONT. EVERYTIME WE TAKE IT BACK, (4 TIMES) NO PROBLEMS ARE FOUND. I HAVE ALREADY TALKED TO FORD TWICE ABOUT THIS, BUT SINCE THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT BRAKE PADS NEED TO BE REPLACED (AT COST TO US), THEY DO NOT FEEL THEY (FORD) SHOULD PAY FOR IT. ONE OF THE TIMES THAT WE TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE, THEY SUGGESTED A REMEDY THAT IS NOT EVEN RECOMMENDED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL. I UNDERSTAND THAT SOMETIMES A VEHICLE IS JUST NOT PUT TOGETHER CORRECTLY, THEN FIX IT. VEHICLE HAS 36,470 MILES ON IT. *NM
WHILE TRAVELING ABOUT 35MPH AND PROCEEDING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION ANOTHER VEHICLE REFUSED TO YIELD HITTING CONSUMER'S ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY.*AK
VEHICLE HESITATES OR STALLS OUT WHILE IN MOTION. ALL THE DASH LIGHTS COME AND THEN THERE IS A SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER. HAVE TWO OF THE SAME VEHICLE AND HAVE THE PROBLEM WITH BOTH. FORD HAS TRIED TO CORRECT THIS BUT ALL ATTEMPTS HAVE FAILED. BOTH CARS ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND HAVE ABOUT 54000 MILES. THE CARS HAVE BEEN DRIVEN WITH RECORDERS AND COMPUTER BUT NO CODES COME UP. LATELY, THEY HAVE BEEN HESITATING/STALLING AT LEAST A COUPLE OF TIMES A WEEK. SOMETIMES THEY STALL WHILE DRIVING AND SOMETIMES WHILE AT A LIGHT. THE WORST IS WHEN THE LIGHTS ALL COME ON AND THEY HESITATE WHILE MOVING AT 65 MPH WITH AN EIGHT WHEELER OR SUV RIGHT BEHIND. MY WIFE, TWO DAUGHTERS, & I HAVE ALL EXPERIENCED THIS SITUATION AND IT'S VERY FRIGHTENING. *AK
SAME AS COMPLAINT NO. 10194207 BUT WITH A SECOND VEHICLE. IT HESITATES OR STALLS WITH NO NOTICE OTHER THAN ALL THE DASH LIGHTS COMING ON FOR A FEW SECONDS. THEN, THERE IS A LOSS OF POWER. HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION AND AT INTERSECTIONS. CAR CAN BE GOING 60 MPH OR CAN BE AT A STOPLIGHT. HAS BEEN ON FLIGHT RECORDER AND COMPUTER, BUT NO CODES. DIFFERENT FIXES HAVE BEEN TRIED BY FORD, BUT SO FAR NOTHING HAS WORKED FOR VERY LONG. HAD BOTH CARS IN SHOP AGAIN THIS MONTH FOR THE PROBLEM. NO ONE IS ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE SPECIFIC PROBLEM, SO THE TRIAL AND ERROR METHOD HAS BEEN FOR THE MOST RECENT STAYS IN THE SHOP. LEFT ONE OF THE VEHICLES AT FORD FOR ABOUT A WEEK EARLIER THIS MONTH. THE OTHER WAS IN ON AND OFF 2 OR 3 TIMES THIS MONTH. THE HESITATION AND STALLING AND REPEATED REPAIR ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR AWHILE BECAUSE WE WERE TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED OR COULD BE FIXED, BUT NOW IT IS VERY UNLIKELY WITH TWO CARS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND YET TO BE FIXED.*AK

BLOWER MOTOR IN MY 2003 TAURUS ONLY RUNS ON HIGH. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH YEAR AND MODEL. WATER LEAKS IN AND BURNS THE BLOWER OUT. RECENTLY HAD TO DRIVE WITH NO DEFROSTER OND UE TO NO BLOWER. HAD THE BLOWER REPLACED NOW IT ONLY RUNS ON HIGH,IT APPARENTLY NEEDS A NEW RESISTOR. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ABOUT IT. *TR

THREE AUTHORIZED FORD REPAIR FACILITIES MADE 5 ATTEMPTS TO FIX OR REPAIR AN INACCURATE FUEL GUAGE ON A 2003 TAURUS SE SEDAN WITH NO LUCK. ALL NEW PARTS WERE REPLACED FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER TO NO AVAIL. FORD MOTOR COMPANY STATES THERE IS NO CURRENT FIX, BUT THEY WERE WORKING ON ONE. THIS WAS AS OF 06/18/03.
THE HEATER IN MY CAR FAILED. WE CALLED THE FORD PARTS DEPARTMENT AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT THE COWL, RELAY AND BLOWER FAILED DUE TO WATER LEAKAGE. WE TOOK THE CAR IN THEY SAID THE COST WOULD BE 400.00 WHICH I COULD NOT AFFORD AT THAT TIME. NOW I HAVE NO CHOICE WINTER IS HERE AND I NEED MY HEATER WORKING. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ITS TIME FORD FIXES THE PROBLEM AT THEIR COST NOT OURS! I'VE ALSO BEEN TOLD THAT I NEED FRONT BALL JOINTS MY CAR FAILED INSPECTION. THIS CAR IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD I SHOUDN'T BE HAVING THESE MAJOR PROBLEMS.
