ON TWO OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED OR LOST POWER WHILE IN THE PROCESS OF DRIVING. THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 20MPH APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES INTO THE DRIVE. THE SECOND TIME THIS OCCURRED THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 55 MPH WHILE SET ON CRUISE CONTROL FIVE HOURS INTO A DRIVE. IN BOTH OCCURRENCES THE DISPLAY INDICATED TO PUT SHIFTER INTO PARK WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STALLED AND STILL MOVING. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STALLED THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKING WAS DISABLED. AFTER PULLING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, PLACING THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMAL. THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS TRIED TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM TWICE WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS CONTACTED FORD AND THEY STATE THEY AREN'T AWARE OF ANY PROBLEMS OF THIS NATURE. THIS IS A VERY HAZARDOUS CONDITION TO OCCUR WHILE TRAVELING 55MPH ON A CURVY CANYON ROAD. I'M VERY CONCERNED WITH CONTINUING TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, SHE NOTICED A HISSING SOUND WHILE BRAKING. THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD ALSO ABNORMALLY TRAVEL TO THE FLOORBOARD INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSIS THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING AND ON A SEPARATE OCCASION WHILE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC STOP, THE BRAKES WERE UNRESPONSIVE WHEN APPLIED AND CAUSED THE DRIVER TO CRASH INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT ARM. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED A SALVAGE YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TAURUS SHO. ENGINE QUIT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH. ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART UNTIL STOPPED AND SHIFTED INTO PARK. FORD SERVICE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE STALL OR FIND ANYTHING TO INDICATE IT HAD OCCURRED. THERE WAS NO AREA TO PULL OFF ROAD AND HAD TO COMPLETE ACTION IN THE LANE OF TRAVEL. FORD UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING TO CORRECT. *TR
WHILE I WAS STOPPED IN TRAFFIC, MY WIFE ACCIDENTALLY TOUCHED THE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON WHILE SHE WAS TUNING THE RADIO. THE TRUNK LID OPENED. I PULLED OUT OF TRAFFIC AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO I COULD CLOSE THE TRUNK LID. THE CAR MANUAL INDICATES THAT THE TRUNK LID WILL OPEN AT SPEEDS UNDER 3 MPH OR LESS. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE TRUNK LID SHOULD NOT OPEN WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS ENGAGED.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF AND THEN IT RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR AN INSPECTION WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,700. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY STALL WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
CAR SEEMED TO SLIP INTO NEUTRAL, GEARS CLUNKED AND WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER ENTERING AN INTERSECTION UPON GREEN LIGHT. CAR SEEMED CONFUSED AS TO WHAT GEAR IT WAS IN AS EVEN THE REAR BACKUP CAMERA MOMENTARILY ACTIVATED WHILE ROLLING FORWARD. GEAR SELECTOR WAS IN DRIVE AND NOT ADJUSTED AT ANY TIME DURING THE EVENT. DEALER INSPECTED FOR ALL KNOWN TSB'S AND COULD FIND NO ISSUE. TAURUS SHO. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE RAPIDLY. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ENGAGED REPEATEDLY AND THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO PARK IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM FURTHER ACCELERATING. THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
FORD TAURUS 2010 LIMITED (15127 MILES ON CLOCK) - DRIVING AT 30MPH THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND ABOUT 5 SECONDS LATER THE CAR STALLED AND ALL POWER LOST. HAD TO COAST TO SIDE OF ROAD AND STEERING / BRAKES BECAME VERY HEAVY. THIS FAULT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THERE IS NO WARNING AND TOTAL LOSS OF POWER. WHEN I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I PLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK, AND I WAS ABLE TO RE-START THE CAR AND CONTINUE MY JOURNEY WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. JUST FEEL VERY NERVOUS NOW AS THIS IS CLEARLY A FAULT THAT OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED AND I'M JUST THANKFUL IT ONLY HAPPENDED AT 30 MPH AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY OTHERWISE IT COULD EASILY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *LN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE INTERIOR LIGHTS, HEADLIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS AND THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL LIGHTS WOULD FLICKER ON AND OFF. THE GEAR SHIFTER COULD NOT BE SHIFTED OUT OF PARK WHEN THE LIGHT FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC THAT LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE VEHICLE COMPUTER. THE WAS UNAWARE OF WHAT CAUSED THE COMPUTER TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
BOTH FRONT BRAKE PADS DID NOT WEAR IN AS THEY SHOULD HAVE. ONLY THE INNER 1/2 INCH OF THE OUTER PAD APPEARS TO HAVE SEATED AGAINST THE ROTOR, NOT THE FULL WIDTH OF THE PAD. THE PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED BUT THE PROBLEM HAS REAPPEARED ON THE NEW PARTS EXACTLY LIKE THE FIRST SET. THE LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT BRAKES HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, IT'S NOT JUST ONE SIDE. AN UNUSUAL NOISE SOMETIMES OCCURS WHEN COMING TO A STOP. BRAKING DISTANCE IS COMPROMISED. *TR
THERE IS GRUNTING GRINDING AND SQUEALING FROM THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKES THE CAR HAS 10000 MILES ON IT AND NOW IT PULLS SUDDENLY FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER ON HARD BRAKING. MY DEALER HAS REFUSED TO DOCUMENT MY PROBLEMS AND WANTS TO KEEP THE CAR FOR 2 TO 8 WEEKS TO EVALUATE AND FIX THE PROBLEMS, TO DATE THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND WILL NOT FIX IT. *TR
ACCELERATION STALLS FROM 0-5 MPH THEN IS FOLLOWED BY A HARSH BUMP ON TAKE-OFF THIS CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS IT WILL STALL UPON DOWN SHIFTING WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC FOR AS LONG AS 6 SECONDS. THIS CAUSES TRAFFIC BEHIND ME TO TAKE AVOIDANCE MANEUVERS. WHEN PASSING IT WILL DO THE SAME THING TAKING 3 TO 6 SECONDS TO START ACCELERATING. WHEN I PULL OUT TO PASS IT FALLS BACK A FULL CAR LENGTH BEFORE IT MAKES UP ITS MIND TO ACCELERATE. VERY DANGEROUS, IT WILL DO THIS AT 30 MPH THROUGH 70 MPH. *TR
THE CAR HAS THE CAP LES FUEL FILLER SYSTEM, WHEN I FILL THE CAR, IT LEAKS GAS ON THE GROUND BEHIND THE REAR TIRE, EACH TIME THE PUMP SHUTS OFF. IT DOES THIS AT EVERY STATION I FILL UP AT. IF I TRY TO TOP OFF THE TANK IT MAKES A VERY LARGE PUDDLE. THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM HAS NOT FIXED THIS COMPLAINT AND WILL NOT DOCUMENT MY COMPLAINT. *TR
2010 FORD TAURUS SHO HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION NOT BEING IN FIRST GEAR AFTER A STOP. ONE TO TWO SECOND HESITATION AND THEN CLUNKS INTO GEAR AND I AM ABLE TO TAKE OFF. THIS HAPPENS APPROXIMATELY TWICE A MONTH. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE. THE CAR ALSO HAS AN ISSUE WITH BREAKING AND STEERING. THREE INSTANCES HAVE OCCURRED WHERE THE CAR PULLS HARD TO THE RIGHT UPON A HARD STOP. DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE. HENCE NO FIX. ALL OCCURRED BEFORE 3000 MILES. *TR
ENGINE SURGE FROM THE BEGINNING WHEN THE CAR IS IN CRUISE CONTROL ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WILL SURGE THEN CRUISE CONTROL TURNS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SHORT TRIPS AND ON LONG TRIPS. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FIRST FEW TIMES IT HAPPENED AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. HOWEVER, WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN (AND IT STILL DOES ON OCCASION) AND THERE IS A CAR BEHIND ME, IT HAPPENS SO QUICKLY THAT IT'S ALMOST AS IF I'M APPLYING MY BRAKES AND THE CAR BEHIND ME USUALLY HAS TO SWERVE OUT-OF-THE-WAY IF THEY'RE TOO CLOSE. THUS, I TRY NOT TO USE ON SMALL TRIPS WHICH ISN'T FAIR TO ME. ANOTHER THING IT DOES, IS WHEN I FIRST TAKE OFF FROM A STOP IT WILL SURGE TO THE POINT THAT IF A CAR IS GOING SLOWER AT THE BEGINNING THERE IS A POSSIBILITY I COULD RUN INTO THE BACK OF IT. THAT IS WHY I GIVE THE CARS AHEAD OF ME A LITTLE LEEWAY. THE CAR DID THIS DURING MY DEMO DRIVE IN THE SALESMAN SAID IT WAS JUST A "HOT CAR ". NOT! *TR
WHEN USING THE MANUAL SHIFT MODE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO SHIFT THE CAR MANUALLY WITHOUT SUCCESS. AFTER THE LAST ATTEMPT THERE WAS AN INCREDIBLY LOUD 'THUMP' FROM THE TRANSMISSION. LOUD ENOUGH I THOUGHT THE TRANSMISSION FELL OUT OF THE CAR. I SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL, PAUSED (WHILE COASTING), PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE WHERE IT THEN SHIFTED INTO SECOND GEAR. ALL OF THIS HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN MANUAL MODE. BOTH TIMES HAPPENED WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. I TOOK THE CAR INTO MY FORD DEALER FOR INSPECTION THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, THEY STATED THERE COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. BOTH TIMES WERE A ROUTINE ACCELERATION WHICH HAPPENED ABOUT 5 TO 10 MILES INTO MY TRIP. I WAS NOT 'PUSHING' THE CAR IN ANY WAY.
DURING ROUTINE CITY DRIVING, MODERATE BRAKING PRODUCES SIGNIFICANT GRINDING NOISE AND ASSOCIATED VIBRATION IN BRAKE PEDAL. BRAKING ACTION IS STILL GOOD, BUT NOISE PRODUCES A SIGNIFICANT DISTRACTION WHICH CREATES TENDENCY FOR THE DRIVER TO RELEASE BRAKE PRESSURE TO ELIMINATE THE NOISE. FAILURE SEEMS TO OCCUR DURING ALL TYPES OF WEATHER AND DRIVING CONDITIONS, BUT IS MOST OFTEN OBSERVED WHEN MOISTURE IS PRESENT EITHER IN HUMID WEATHER OR PRECIPITATION. DEALER CHECKED ROTORS AND PADS WITHIN TOLERANCES AND ALL CALIPERS APPEAR IN ORDER. DEALER CANNOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, BUT ADMITS OTHER DRIVERS HAVE REPORTED THE EXACT SAME ISSUE IN THE SAME MODEL YEAR AND TRIM. *TR
DRIVER DOOR FAILS TO SEAL CLOSED, AJUSTED MANY TIMES AND ALLOWS FOR ROAD NOISE AND AIR TO ENTER THE CAR. FORD DEAL HAS WORKED ON VEHICLE X 6 TIMES. *TR
2010 FORD TAURUS STALLS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO SHIFT TO NEUTRAL) HAS OCCURRED THREE TIMES IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, SOMEHOW HAVE NOT BEEN CRASHED INTO. FORD HAS REPLACED AT LEAST FOUR DIFFERENT PARTS, EACH TIME SAYING ITS FIXED, THEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. LAST WEEK FOR THE THIRD TIME I WAS VERY NARROWLY MISSED BY A SEMI, THANK MY ANGEL FOR BEING ABLE TO COAST ENOUGH TO THE SHOULDER, I CRIED FOR HALF HOUR FROM THE PANIC. NEVER AGAIN WILL I DRIVE THIS CAR ON HIGHWAY NO MATTER HOW MANY PARTS THE CHANGE. FORD IS GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND NOW ON BUYING IT BACK - THEY SAY THEY HAVE HAD NO OTHER ISSUES SUCH AS THIS WITH THIS MODEL FALSE - I HAVE FOUND FIVE OTHERS ON INTERNET BLOGS WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AND SAME RESULTS. THIS CAR IS A DEATH TRAP AND EVEN ENGINEERS FROM FORD HAVE BEEN HERE TO ASSESS WITH NO RESULTS. THEY SHOULD HAVE TO DRIVE THEIR NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR A YEAR BEFORE THEY PUT IT OUT TO CONSUMERS WHO MAY BE HARMED DUE TO THEIR NEGLIGENCE. *TR
GRINDING FRONT BRAKES NOT RELATED TO WORN PADS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN BRAKING FROM ANY SPEED, A GRINDING NOISE COULD BE HEARD COMING FROM THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE ALL OF THE ROTORS AND DRUMS WERE REPLACED. APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS AFTER REPAIRS, THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,300. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD UNTIL EXTREME PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE FAILURE RECURRED SIX TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER ON THREE OCCASIONS; YET, THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,880.
THE REAR, RIGHT PASSENGER WINDOW MOTOR OF MY 2010 FORD TAURUS SHO EXPLODED AND MELTED THE DOOR! *TR
THE 2010 FORD TAURUS LOSES POWER AND THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF AT SPEEDS WITHIN AND EXCESS OF 65 MPH. WHEN THE DEFECT OCCURS, THE ENGINE TURNS OFF, THE THROTTLE IS DEACTIVATED, THE CENTER STACK CONSOLE IS DEACTIVATED AND THE MESSAGE CENTER IN THE VEHICLE'S CLUSTER TELLS THE DRIVER TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. THE DRIVER MUST THEN PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK IN ORDER TO START THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED TWICE WITHIN 45 DAYS. FOR THE FIRST OCCURRENCE, THE VEHICLE WAS PROVIDED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED TO PERFORM A ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS. NO ISSUE WAS FOUND AND THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE OWNER. THE DEFECT OCCURRED ONCE AGAIN ON JULY 29, 2010 AND THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN CONTACTED TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE ONCE A LOANER VEHICLE CAN BE OBTAINED. NO PHYSICAL CHANGE OR IMPROVEMENT HAS BEEN MADE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AT THIS TIME AND FORD FIELD SERVICE ENGINEERING HAS NOT BEEN INVOLVED OR NOTIFIED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 20 MPH WHEN SHE CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, NECK AND BACK. THE PASSENGER WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE THEY WERE KEPT FOR FIVE DAYS. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
2010 FORD TAURUS SHO LOSES POWER AND REAR VIEW CAMERA ACTIVATES WHEN IN DRIVE. ALMOST CAUSED A COLLISION WHEN LOST POWER WHEN MAKING A TURN WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC COMING AT ME AT HIGH SPEED. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS SPORADICALLY AND THE DEALER SAYS THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT SO FORD WILL NOT AUTHORIZE ANY REPAIRS. I WAS TOLD TO BRING THE CAR BACK WHEN THE PROBLEM BECOMES CHRONIC. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND REGISTERED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD. THEIR RESPONSE WAS THE SAME AS THE DEALER. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT IN EXPRESSWAY TRAFFIC WHEN THE VEHICLE QUIT RUNNING. THERE WAS TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL : ENGINE NOT RUNNING AND ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AND LIGHTING WENT OFF. ONLY MANUAL STEERING WAS AVAILABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE TO THE EXPRESSWAY SHOULDER .THE ALERT ACTIONS OF THE DRIVERS BEHIND ME DID PREVENT A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. INSTRUMENT PANEL MESSAGE STATED "SHIFT INTO PARK"' WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING. THIS ACTION WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN IMMEDIATE TRANSMISSION DAMAGE. VEHICLE STARTED NORMALLY IN PARK. THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS DURING THE REST OF THE TRIP. THE VEHICLE HAS A PUSH BUTTON START. BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE IS REQUIRED TO START THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL OR PARK. RESTARTING THIS MOVING VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL WOULD HAVE SLOWED THE MOMENTUM REQUIRED TO SAFELY BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOUND NO COMPUTER CODES. ADVICE FROM THE SERVICE ADVISOR WAS " DRIVE OR TRADE THE VEHICLE". THE MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTED THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY". *TR

MY 2010 FORD TAURUS LOST POWER ON HIGHWAY AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK INTO THE SHOP THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 4300 MILES AND NEEDS A THROTTLE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT ALREADY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2010 FORD TAURUS SHO (AT VARIOUS SPEEDS INCLUDING HIGHWAY SPEEDS) THE CAR WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND MY "REARVIEW CAMERA" WILL TURN ON IN WHAT APPEARS TO BE AN ATTEMPT BY THE CAR TO AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT INTO REVERSE (THE CAMERA IS ONLY SUPPOSED TO TURN ON IN REVERSE). TO DATE, THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE AND THEREBY UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND FORD HAS INDICATED THEY ARE NOT SEEING OTHER SIMILAR ISSUES (NOT SURE IF THIS IS TRUE). THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS THIS OFTEN OCCURS DURING ACCELERATION AND YOU LOSE ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE (OF COURSE) IF YOU'RE IN NEUTRAL. SHOULD THE CAR SOMEHOW FIND A WAY TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE (AS I SAID, THE CAMERA ONLY COMES ON IN REVERSE AND SEEMS TO INDICATE TO ME THAT THE CAR'S SOFTWARE IS TRYING TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE FOR NO REASON) WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY IT COULD VERY EASILY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. SOON AFTER I GOT MY NEW 2010 FORD TAURUS IN MARCH OF 2010, IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AS I WAS DRIVING WITH MY SISTER (MILEAGE UNDER 1,000 MILES). I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID TO TRY IT AGAIN - THE CAR RAN WELL, SO I FORGOT ABOUT THE INCIDENT. IN APRIL 2012, I AGAIN LOST POWER SUDDENLY AND COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING. I PUT ON THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS, LEFT THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF MY ROAD WHERE IT HAD STOPPED, AND CALLED AAA TO TOW IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. SERVICE REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, AND SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING THAT COULD CAUSE THE CAR TO STALL. TWICE AGAIN, THE CAR STOPPED AS I WAS DRIVING IT AND EACH TIME FORD SERVICE COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. THE LAST INCIDENT LEFT ME SHAKEN AS I WAS STUCK ACROSS MY ROAD, EXPOSED TO TWO-WAY TRAFFIC. AFTER THE LAST INCIDENT FORD EXAMINED THE CAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS, DROVE IT HUNDREDS OF MILES AND SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY REFERRED ME TO FORD MOTOR. FORD WANTED A SECOND OPINION FROM ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. OF COURSE THE SECOND OPINION SAID ALL WAS FINE, AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. FORD MOTOR COMPANY DECLINED MY REQUEST FOR A REPLACEMENT CAR AND FOR A LOANER. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE FORD AND LEFT IT THERE. FORD ABSOLUTELY KNOWS THE DANGERS OF THIS CAR, THEY ARE WELL DOCUMENTED IN MY COMPLAINT HISTORY AND IN VARIOUS COMPLAINT VENUES ON THE INTERNET AND THEY ARE STONE WALLING VERY EFFECTIVELY. THE FACT IS THAT FORD ITSELF HAS ISSUED SEVERAL TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS TALKING ABOUT ...IF THERE IS AN INTERMITTENT LACK OF POWER'. I WAS 'INTERMITTENTLY PUT IN DANGER FOUR TIMES. FORD TELLS ME THEY WILL AUCTION THE CAR, FULL WELL KNOWING OF THE RISKS. THIS CAR VIN IS DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE NEVER BE ON THE ROAD AGAIN TO COMPROMISE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SAFETY. *TR

HE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WITHIN A FEW MINUTES. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THE FAILURES COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL MECHANISM WAS CONTROLLED BY A SENSOR AND WHEN THE VEHICLE CAME TO CLOSE TO A PRECEDING VEHICLE, THE CRUISE CONTROL SENSOR WOULD SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN TO AVOID A POTENTIAL CRASH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE "COLLISION WARNING" LIGHT WAS TO ADVISE THE DRIVER WHEN THIS WAS OCCURRING. THE DEALER INSTALLED A RECORDING DEVICE IN THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO UTILIZE IT THE NEXT TIME THERE WAS A FAILURE IN THE VEHICLE SO THAT THEY COULD RECORD EXACTLY WHAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURES. TO DATE, THE VEHICLE WAS IN POSSESSION OF THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,520.
