WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AROUND A CURVE THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING" MESSAGE CAME UP. AS WELL AS THE " STEERING ASSIST DEFAULT". WHEN THIS HAPPENED I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. I COULDN'T MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL. I SLID OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD INTO THE DITCH. IT WAS LIKE THE WHEEL HAD COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. JUST SO HAPPEN THERE WERE NO CARS CLOSE BEHIND ON I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CHRISTIAN BROTHERS AUTOMOTIVE GRANBURY (3809 E U.S. HWY 377, GRANBURY, TX 76049, 817-776-4212) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. A MONTH LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,653. *TR
AIRBAG EXPLODED INJURY IN MY FACE
THE REAR DRIVER SIDE BRAKES HAVE BEEN ACTING UP AND WILL MAKE A LOUD CLUNK WHEN YOU GO TO STOP, THE TIRE AND BRAKES SMELL HOT, TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC ON SUNDAY SAID A CALIBER WAS RUSTED AND IT SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY CALLED DEALERSHIP TOOK IT IN TO LIBERTY FORD IN BRUNSWICK OHIO. THEY SAID IT WAS THE BRAKE PAD AND ROTOR DUE TO THE WEATHER WE HAVE IN OHIO THAT IT WAS RUSTED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT 360. 00 FOR THE 2 PARTS PLUS LABOR, REALLY A 2013 YEAR CAR WITH UNDER 25,000 MILES ON IT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. HAD ISSUES WITH LIGHTS NOT WORKING. TOOK IT TO GET IT FIXED. THEY "FIXED" IT. HAPPENED AGAIN A FEW DAYS LATER. WENT BACK IN TO GET FIXED. LATER WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT THE BACK TRUNK CAUGHT ON FIRE. BUMPER WAS MELTED AND THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE TRUNK LID. ITEMS INSIDE WERE FINE. IF IT WAS BEING DRIVEN, I'M SURE THE DRIVER WOULD BE DEAD. THE FIRE WAS SO CLOSE TO THE GAS TANK. *TR
ON JAN. 9 2014 APPROX. 5:10 A.M. I REMOTELY STARTED MY CAR AND AFTER 5 MINUTES I CAME OUTSIDE AND NOTICED A 3INCH FLAME ABOVE THE LICENSE PLATE ON TOP OF THE BUMPER BELOW THE DECK LID. I THOUGHT MAYBE SOMETHING WAS BURNING ON THE CAR AND WENT TO SWAT IT AND WAS BURNED ON HAND WITH MELTING PLASTIC BUMPER. TRIED TO PUT IT OUT WITH SNOW...THE BUMPER WAS BURNT ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE DECK LID AND TAIL LIGHTS BEFORE IT WAS PUT OUT WITH WATER. IT LOOKED AS IF IT WAS BURNING FROM THE INSIDE. AS OF TODAYS DATE FORD STILL DOES NOT KNOW WHY IT CAUGHT FIRE. *TR
I DROVE MY 2013 FORD TAURUS APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES TO MY HOME. AFTER CUTTING THE CAR OFF I NOTICED SMOKE BILLOWING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I RESTARTED THE CAR TO BACK OUT FROM UNDER MY CARPORT. I CUT THE CAR OFF AND WITHIN SECONDS THE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES CAUSING A TOTAL LOSS. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS OR SIGNALS. IT WAS VERY QUICK. MY INSURANCE COMPANY SETTLED THE CLAIM AND IS SUBROGATING WITH FORD. FORD HAS SHOWN NO INTEREST ABOUT SEEING THE CAR, FINDING OUT WHAT HAPPENED OR DETERMINING THE POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING AS THIS COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS IF IT HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING, NOT TO MENTIONED IF IT HAD CAUGHT MY HOUSE ON FIRE. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH FORD AND CHOSE NOT TO PURCHASE ANOTHER FORD, NOR WILL I RECOMMEND ONE. WHILE BRINGING MY WIFE HOME FROM WORK,DOWN A CITY STREET, SHE YELLED OUT TO ME TO WATCH OUT...DEER! AUTOMATICALLY, I LOOKED TO THE RIGHT IN PEOPLE YARDS AND WOODED ARE,THEN LEFT, ONLY TO FIND THEM JUST SLIGHT TO MY RIGHT FORM THE CENTER OF OUR CAR. AT THIS POINT I KNEW THE BRAKES WERE IN GREAT SHAPE. HOWEVER THESE HALOGEN PROJECTION HEADLIGHTS HAVE A DECENT PATTERN, BUT ARE LIKE HAVING TWO CANDLES. WHY IS IT MY 2006 MERCURY MONTEGO HAD FACTORY HID HEADLIGHTS AND NOW 7 YEARS LATER THEY WENT BACKWARDS, AS OTHER CARS ARE NOW USING LED HEADLIGHTS? THIS WAS NOT THE ONLY TIME. THE NEXT TIME MY WIFE NOTICED A PERSON WALKING IN THE ROAD,WHY WHO KNOWS? EXCEPT I AM NOT HAPPY WITH WHAT I THINK IS POLITICS FORD IS DOING. THESE LIGHTING SYSTEM IS SO BAD IF I HAD THE HIGH BEAMS ON WHILE DRIVING WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC NOBODY BLINKS AT ME. No heat gauge, oil pressure gauge on vehicle. Blend door issue, one side blows hot, other cold. Radio not working. Weird noise in dash by ignition. Ignition sticks when trying to start car, keeps turning over. Dimmer switch doesn't work. Car can be tracked by unknown people, without permission.
WHILE DRIVING, THE WHEEL FELL OFF THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE SWERVED. THIS OCCURRED AT A LOW SPEED (10MPH) UPON MORE CLOSELY INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, IT APPEARS THAT THE AXLE WAS BROKEN OFF OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE A PHOTO OF THE BROKEN PIECE OF THE VEHICLE, AS WELL AS PHOTOS OF THE BROKEN SITUATION OF THE VEHICLE. THIS CAR WAS RENTED THROUGH BUDGET RENTAL CAR AGENCY, AND I DO NOT KNOW IF RESPONSIBILITY ALSO LIES WITH THE RENTAL CAR COMPANY AS WELL. *TR
MY WIFE WAS STANDING OUTSIDE THE CAR HOLDING THE PASSENGER DOOR OPEN AND AS DOORS WILL DO, IT CLOSED SLOWLY ON IT'S OWN WEIGHT AND DUE TO THE DOOR SPRING CLOSING MECHANISM. SHE ACCIDENTALLY HAD HER THUMB IN THE DOOR WHERE IT WOULD CATCH, SO WHEN THE DOOR CLOSED SLOWLY, IT CAUGHT HER THUMB. WHAT SHE DID NOT EXPECT IS THAT THE DOOR IS SO SHARP ALONG THE METAL PIECE NEAR THE WINDOW THAT IT COMPLETELY AMPUTATED HER THUMB AND IT WAS LEFT HANGING IN THE DOOR. KEEP IN MIND THAT SHE WAS NOT EVEN CLOSING THE DOOR, SINCE SHE INTENDED TO GET BACK INTO THE CAR, SO THE RATE OF CLOSURE WAS EXTREMELY SLOW. I WATCHED THIS HAPPEN AND WAS AMAZED THAT HER THUMB WAS EVEN CUT, MUCH LESS COMPLETELY AMPUTATED. THIS DOOR PIECE IS WAY TOO SHARP ON THIS AUTOMOBILE AND COMPARED TO OTHER CARS, HAS VERY LITTLE TO KEEP IT FROM CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE SERVICE WRENCH WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED AS IF IT WOULD STALL. THE FAILURES OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
HEADLIGHT SYSTEM IS POOR ON LOW BEAM. THERE IS A HORIZONTAL LINE MAKING DEFINITE DIVISION IN VISIBILITY THAT EXTENDS ACROSS THE COMPLETE HORIZONTAL LINE OF VISION. GOING TO HIGH BEAMS STOPS ELIMINATES IT. I NEARLY HAD AN ACCIDENT AS I CANNOT SEE WELL ON LOW BEAMS. THE SAME THING IS REPORTED BY MANY OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE. I STOPPED AT THE DEALER, WE LOOKED AT IT, TRIED THE LIGHTS AND ALSO TRIED TO ADJUST THEM BUT THE LOW BEAMS JUST DO NOT HAVE A LIGHT PATTERN THAT ALLOWS THE DRIVER TO SEE AT A SAFE DISTANCE IN FRONT OF THE CAR AT NIGHT. THIS LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT SYSTEM JUST PLAIN STINKS FOR A CAR THAT HAD A MSRP OF $35K. *TR
ON SATURDAY, AUG 17TH, OUR 2013 FORD TAURUS POLICE INTERCEPTOR (SEDAN) VIN:[XXX] WAS STOPPED AT A PLACE OF BUSINESS AND TURNED OFF. INITIALLY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE VEHICLE STARTED BUT WOULD NOT MOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES BY A WRECKER AND TAKEN TO GRIFFIN FORD CO IN THOMASVILLE, GA. THIS DATE, AUG. 22, 2013, I SPOKE WITH A SERVICEMAN AT GRIFFIN FORD AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT WHEEL AXLE HAD BROKEN AND THAT THE REPAIR PART WOULD BE BACK-ORDERED (PLACED ON AN EMERGENCY NEED BASIS), BUT NO REPAIR TIME FRAME COULD BE GIVEN DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE WERE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS IN THE COUNTRY. WE HAVE HAD PREVIOUS PROBLEMS WITH BOTH OF OUR (ABOVE VIN # AND VIN:[XXX]) 2013 FORD TAURUS POLICE VEHICLES WITH THE PROBLEMS PREVIOUS TO THIS BEING EXCESSIVE GAS FUMES WITHIN BOTH VEHICLES (FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED BEFORE RECALL WAS ISSUED ON BOTH CARS BUT AFTER RECEIVING RECALL, FUEL PUMPS WERE AGAIN REPLACED), CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON (EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SOLENOID WAS REPLACED, AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON, SEAT BELT SENSOR WAS BAD AND THE BUCKLE/SENSOR WAS REPLACED. ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAVE OCCURRED THIS YEAR. AS YOU ARE AWARE, ALL REPAIRS TAKE TIME AND WE ARE ESPECIALLY CONCERNED ABOUT THE TIME FRAME TO RECEIVE AND REPAIR THE WHEEL AXLE. SUNROOF VIBRATION WITH SUNROOF OPEN ALL THE WAY WITH BACK WINDOWS CRACKED ABOUT AN INCH. VIBRATION IS SO BAD THAT YOU CAN NO SEE OUT OF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. YOU CAN REACH UP AND TOUCH THE SUNROOF DEFLECTOR AND THE VIBRATION WILL STOP. I FEEL THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE OUT OF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR WHEN THE VIBRATION IS HAPPENING. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE VIBRATION IS TO ROLL ALL OF THE WINDOWS DOWN. MY WIFE DRIVES THE CAR THE MOST AND WILL NOT LET THE WINDOWS ALL THE WAY DOWN WHEN SHE IS RIDING ON INTERSTATE. SHE LIKES THE SUNROOF OPEN AND CRACKS THE BACK WINDOWS TO ALLEVIATE THE PRESSURE BUT THE VIBRATION WILL NOT GO AWAY. VERY UNHAPPY WITH A BRAND NEW CAR THAT HAS AN ISSUE LIKE THIS! *TT

The contact's mother owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, several unknown warning lights illuminated when turning off the vehicle. The contact stated that there was an abnormal clicking sound coming from the dashboard. In addition, the gear shifter had seized in park(P). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle had several previous ongoing failures. The contact stated that the failure started shortly after the vehicle was purchased in 2013. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

PURCHASED 2013 FORD TAURUS LIMITED NEW FROM DEALER. A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE, NOTICED TERRIBLE VIBRATION IN VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. DEALERSHIP TRIED TO BLAME IT ON BAD TIRES, WHICH THEY REPLACED. MY TAURUS SYMPTOMS ARE, LOSE OF POWER IN LOWER GEARS(1,2,3). WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STAND STILL, THE CAR HESITATES. AND NOW THE CAR HAS A CRANK NO START ISSUE AND I SMELL FUEL. ELECTRICAL SEEMS TO SPIN EVERY ONCE AND A WHILE, AS WELL AS A MAJOR SPIN EVERY SIX MONTHS, PERHAPS YEAR NOW. EVEN NEW, VEHICLE HAD A TYPE OF ELECTRICAL "RESET", A MESSAGE WOULD SHOW SOMETHING ABOUT THE LANGUAGE HAS BEEN RESET.., ET CETERA. THE VEHICLE NOW WILL SHOW "CHARGING SYSTEM FAILURE" LIGHT AS WELL AS A LANGUAGE RESET. I FEEL THAT SOMETHING IS TAKING THE VEHICLE INTO A DIFFERENT "SET", OR IDEA..., PERHAPS A FOREIGN ELECTRICAL INVOLVEMENT IS MY UPFRONT CONCERN. WHEN I TRY AND SIMPLY INQUIRY FORD REGARDING THIS,... IT IS FOR SURE WHEN IT HAPPENS... (SOMEHOW). FORD AT THE DEALERSHIP APPEARS NOT TO NOTICE ANYTHING, AS IF IT IS FINE..., THAT EVEN BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 1000 MILES ON IT, THEY DID NOT SEE ANY CONCERN. I HAD BROUGHT IT UP TO THEM MANY TIMES, BUT THINGS GET A LITTLE 'WIND', OR WHIRLEY,... LIKE IT HAS A CAP, OR AN ODD MISCHIEF TO IT. I'M WORRIED THAT SOME DAY, WHILE WITH IT, OR NEEDING IT, THAT IT WILL HAVE THAT "LIGHTS OUT" PROBLEM, WHERE IT JUST SEEMS LIKE SOMEONE "KILLED" IT, OR IT IS A LITTLE DARK TO EVEN BRING UP TO PEOPLE. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, IT WAS NOTED THAT WHEN I SET THE CRUISE CONTROL AT 70 MPH, THE STATED SPEED LIMIT, THE DIGITAL NUMERICAL READOUT READ EXACTLY 70 MPH. THE SPEEDOMETER ALTHOUGH READS CONSISTENTLY 3-4 MPH ABOVE THE CRUISE CONTROL SETTING. THIS HAS OCCURRED SINCE I TOOK DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE AS BRAND NEW FROM THE DEALER AND OCCURS REGARDLESS OF SPEED SETTING, I.E.: SAME ISSUE IF CRUISE IS SET AT 45 MPH, 55 MPH, 65 MPH, ETC. AFTER BECOMING CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE MAY IN FACT BE TRAVELING FASTER THAN THE DIGITAL CRUISE CONTROL SETTING WAS STATING, I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER. THEY WERE UNABLE FIX THE ISSUE WITH EXACT EXPLANATION ON MY REPAIR ORDER READING: "CLIENT STATES WHEN CRUISE SET THE SPEEDOMETER ALWAYS 3-4 MILES HIGHER. NWP CONTACT FORD ADVISED TO DRIVE 2013 AND 2014 MODELS TO VERIFY CONCERN. BOTH MODELS SAME SYMPTOM. ALL OK AT THIS TIME."

MY WIFE AND I WERE TRAVELING ON US 35 NORTH OUT OF DALLAS, WHEN WE HEARD A LOUD BANG AS IF SOMETHING HIT THE WINDSHIELD. WE BOTH LOOKED UP, BUT THERE WAS NO MARK ON THE WINDSHIELD. LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW THAT THE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. STOPPED AT A FORD DEALER IN DALLAS AND HE SAID IT HAD TO BE HIT BY A ROCK OR BULLET, BUT COULD NOT FIND EITHER. CONTACTED MY INSURANCE, WHO CONTACTED SAFELITE TO REPLACE THE WINDOW, BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT IN DALLAS, WHICH I UNDERSTAND IS ONE OF THEIR DISTRIBUTION CENTERS, DEALER SECURED WINDOW WITH CRASH WRAP FOR ME AND I DROVE ON TO ALBUQ, WHERE SAFELITE REPLACED MY WINDOW. THEY ALSO COULD NOT FIND WHERE IT HAD BEEN HIT BY A ROCK OR BULLET. DROVE BACK TO HOUSTON AND CONTACTED THE SELLING DEALER, AND ALSO FORD'S CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER. AS OF THIS DATE, 11/24/2012, THEY EITHER DON'T HAVE AN ANSWER OR HAVEN'T RETURNED MY CALLS. ON THE 2ND CALL TO FORD, THE GENTLEMAN DID TELL ME THE REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE OF FORD SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED, BUT NO ONE HAS BOTHERED TO CONTACT ME. *TR
ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2012 WE PURCHASED THE ABOVE DESCRIBED VEHICLE FROM LUMBERTON FORD LINCOLN, LUMBERTON, NC 28360. AMONG SEVERAL THINGS WRONG WE DISCOVERED THE REVERSE SENSOR SYSTEM IS INADEQUATE. THE ALARM IS NOT AUDIBLE IN THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE IS THERE IS NORMAL CONVERSATION/RADIO NOISE. ALSO, THE ALARM DOES NOT ACTIVATE BEYOND 2 1/2 TO 3 FEET FROM THE REAR BUMPER. THE DEALER SAID THIS CANNOT BE CORRECTED. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE. IF THE OWNER/DRIVER IS EXPECTING THIS ALARM SYSTEM TO WARN THEM OF IMPENDING IMPACT, THEY WILL BE LIABLE. MY 2013 FORD TAURUS SEL HAS TERRIBLE VIBRATION AT ALL SPEEDS AND DOES IT EVERYDAY FORD HAD THE ENGINEER COME OUT 8 TO 10 TIMES THEY EVEN KEEPER MY 2013 TAURUS SEL FOR 3 WEEKS AND CALLED US AND TOLD US THEY WERE GOING TO BUY IT BACK BECAUSE THEY HAVE TRIED SIX SETS OF TIRES AND WHEELS AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT WELL THEY KEEP IT ANOTHER WEEK AND ME AND MY WIFE TO OUT TO FIND OUT WHAT'S GOING ON THEY HAND US THE KEYS AND SAY THAT FORD IS NOT TAKING IT BACK AND THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. THE CRAZY THING ABOUT IT THE ENGINEER WENT TO THREE OTHER DEALER SHIPS AND COULD NOT FIND ANOTHER 2013 TAURUS SEL THAT ROAD SMOOTH HE WENT TO OXMOOR FORD AND GOT ANOTHER 2013 TAURUS JUST LIKE OURS AND WAS BRINGING IT TO THE DEALER WHERE MINE WAS TO COMPARE THEM AND WHEN HE GOT TO OUR DEALER THIS IS WHAT HE SAID TO THESE ARE HIS EXACT WORDS ( IT FELT LIKE THE WHEELS WERE GOING TO FLY OFF ON THE WAY UP TO OUR DEALERSHIP HE SAID HE THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE VIBRATION WAS SO BAD AND WAS A BRAND NEW ONE FROM ANOTHER DEALER AND THIS IS THE EXACT WORDS OUT OF FORDS ENGINEER AND HE TOLD US FORD HAS TO BUY IT BACK BECAUSE THEY ARE SO BAD HE EVEN PUT IN HIS REPORT FOR FORD TO BUY IT BACK AND FORD SCREWED US. FORD HAS A MAYOR PROBLEM WITH THE 2013 FORD TAURUS SEL VIBRATION AND NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. PLEASE HELP AN INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE DONE ITS VERY BAD THANKS. *TR
While driving, the power steering went out, I wasn't able to turn left or right. A warning light came on briefly about the Power steering track, it then went off, but the steering was still hard. I can see that there has been a recall on my make and model of car that state: The affected vehicles have electrical power steering assist system that may shut down as a result of a steering motor sensor fault. I called the Ford dealership and I have checked the NHSTA website, and both state that particular VIN is not part of the recall. The recall described fits exactly what happened, while driving with no warning beforehand. Luckily, I was not at a speed that was too fast.
loss of steering likely to wreck because of no power steering. My safety and my family was put at risk during this process. The problem has been reproduced at the car repair shop. Warning light activated and message on dash. 15S18 is the recall number for make and model. I was told Ford will not fix by a customer representative.
