TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD WINDSTAR. THE CONTACT HAS EXPERIENCED FAILURES WITH THE VEHICLE EVER SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. WHENEVER SHE STARTS THE VEHICLE, IT MAKES A CLICKING NOISE. IN ADDITION, THE HAZARD LIGHTS ILLUMINATE AUTOMATICALLY AND THE ENGINE FAILS TO START. THE VEHICLE MUST BE JUMPSTARTED EACH TIME. THE FORD DEALER WENT OUT OF BUSINESS RIGHT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON JULY 18, 2007. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER. SHE WAS INFORMED TO CALL THE FORD MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
WARNING LIGHTS FOR ABS, EMERGENCY BRAKE, TRAC OFF (TRACTION CONTROL). ERROR DISPLAY OD TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM" SEVERAL ERROR IN DIAGNOSTICS ALL POINTING TO THE ABS SYSTEM THE TRACTION CONTROL WHEN THIS OCCURS IS DISABLED. THE LIGHTS LIGHT UP AFTER THE CAR WARMS UP IF COLD FROM 2-10 MINUTES, IF USED RECENTLY THE LIGHTS TURN ON ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. AFTER SEARCHING ON THE WEB, THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED AS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. *JB

2002 FORD WINDSTAR. CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE COLLAPSED IN THE FRONT END. SHE STATES HER OLD WINDSTAR DID THE SAME THING WHEN IT HAD A RECALL. THIS VEHICLE HAS NO RECALL. **NAR**KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE JUST DROPPED DOWN TO IT'S TIRES ON ONE SIDE . THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE FRONT COIL SPRING HAD BROKEN AND THEY ALSO FOUND AN EXPLODED STRUT BEARING. THE STRUT MOUNTS, BEARINGS, COIL SPRING AND STABILIZER BAR WERE ALL REPLACED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD WINDSTAR. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES AND THEN BEGAN TO BLINK INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON, HOWEVER, THE LIGHTS CONTINUED TO BLINK. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THIS FAILURE AND INFORMED HER THAT SHE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 79,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,950. MY AUTOMOBILE KEEPS GETTING MULTIPLE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND ABS ERRORS. THE LIGHTS COME ON MULTIPLE TIMES DAILY. UPON RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM IT APPEARS TO BE A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE WITH FORD WINDSTARS 2001-2003. THE ISSUE APPEARS TO BE A FAULTY BRAKE SYSTEM INCLUDING THE ABS SYSTEM. BRAKE FLUID LEAKS FROM A FAULTY SENSOR INTO ELECTRONIC CONNECTORS CAUSING THE POTENTIAL FOR FIRES. ABS WARNING LIGHT COMES ON THEN GOES OFF AFTER VEHICLE SHUT OFF FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. HEADLIGHTS DIM AND INTERIOR LIGHTS DON'T SHUT OFF AT TIMES FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. SLIDING DOOR AND DOOR LOCKS DON'T WORK PROPERLY AT TIMES AND POWER WINDOW ON PASSENGER SIDE DOESN'T OPEN AT TIMES. SLIDING DOOR HAS OPENED ON IT'S OWN AT TIMES AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN VACATED AND LOCKED. *TR
FORD WINDSTAR CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH SHORTED OUT. THAT CAUSED THE BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND SHORTED IT OUT. THE DEALER SAID IT IS A FIRE HAZARD AND OTHER FORDS HAD BEEN RECALLED BUT NOT THE FORD WINDSTAR. NOW THIS IS COSTING US 2500.00 TO GET FIXED. MY PARENTS WINDSTAR IS STARTING THE SAME THING AND MY DAD IS HANDICAP SO IF IT CATCHES FIRE THERE MAY NOT BE ENOUGH TIME TO GET HIM OUT PLEASE RECALL THE WINDSTAR ALSO BEFORE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS. I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT RECENT COMPLAINTS TO THE FORD WINDSTAR 2002 AND HAVE CONCERNS. I HAD MY ABS MODULE REPLACED LAST YEAR BECAUSE ALL MY IDIOT BRAKE LIGHTS WERE GOING OFF INTERMITTENTLY. I HAVE ALSO NOT USED MY CRUISE CONTROL IN OVER TWO YEARS BECAUSE ONCE ACTIVATED IT WILL NOT SHUT OFF UNTIL THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. IT APPEARS THAT THE BRAKES ARE RELATED TO THE CRUISE CONTROL LEAKING ON THE BRAKE LINE, BUT FORD DOES NOT SEE THE WINDSTAR AS A PROBLEM. THIS CONCERNS ME, SINCE THERE HAVE BEEN FIRES WITH THE WINDSTAR VAN. I ALSO TOOK MY CAR INTO A FORD DEALERSHIP TO CHECK THE SEAT LATCHES AND WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD WINDSTAR. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND SOUNDED A WARNING. THE TRAC OFF, ABS, AND BRAKE LIGHTS ALSO ILLUMINATED. CURRENTLY, THE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS STARTED AND REMAIN LIT THE ENTIRE TIME WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE ARE TSBS FOR THESE FAILURES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 59,835 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,510.

WHILE DRIVING TO WORK I NOTICED MY ODOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING AND THEN EVERY LIGHT POSSIBLE LIT UP, SO WHEN I GOT TO WORK MY HUSBAND TOLD ME TO SEE IF I COULD GET IT TO GRANDE TRUCK CENTER IN SAN ANTONIO. I LEFT IT AND LATER RECEIVED A CALL TELLING ME THE WIRING HARNESS HAD SHORTED OUT AND I WAS VERY LUCKY THAT MY VAN DID NOT BURN UP. I WAS TOLD MAYBE A VARMINT HAD CHEWED ON THE WIRES, BUT MY VAN IS ALWAYS PARKED IN THE GARAGE AT NIGHT.. I DECIDED TO DO SOME RESEARCH AFTER RECALLING AN INCIDENT NOT FAR FROM OUR HOME THAT INVOLVED SOME TYPE OF FORD SUV THAT CAUGHT FIRE IN THE GARAGE AND BURNED THE HOUSE DOWN. ALL THIS WAS DUE TO A FAULTY CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH THAT COST ABOUT 21.00. I FOUND THAT MILLIONS OF VEHICLES HAD BEEN RECALLED BY FORD BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM AND THE WINDSTAR WAS ON THE LIST OF HAVING THE SAME OR SIMILAR SWITCH, BUT WAS NOT RECALLED AND STILL HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. I HAVE PUT A REQUEST IN WITH GRANDE TRUCK TO BE REIMBURSED, SINCE IT WAS A MANUFACTURER ERROR AND NOTHING I DID, BUT TO DATE I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM. I EMAILED FORD TO ASK WHY MY VAN WAS NOT RECALLED AND RECEIVED AN ANSWER THAT ALL RECALLS ARE HANDLED BY THE NHTSA. YES, I DO HAVE THE ORIGINAL SWITCH THAT WAS REMOVED FROM THE VAN (LOOKS LIKE PART#F58A-9F924-AA 2063) IT WAS KIND OF HARD TO READ. THE INVOICE STATES REPLACE ABS MODULE & HYDRAULIC UNIT, REPLACE WIRE HARNESS & CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH, SERVICE BLEED, BLEED SYS. $2654.81. MY HUSBAND WAS ALLOWED TO SEE THE WIRING HARNESS THAT WAS ALMOST BURNT IN HALF, BUT THAT WAS NOT KEPT. I THANK GOD THAT THERE WAS NO REAL TRAGEDY THAT CAME OUT OF THIS, BUT I ALSO FEEL THAT FORD IS RESPONSIBLE AND SHOULD TAKE ACTION TO REIMBURSE ME MY MONEY. THE ABS SYSTEM SHORTED OUT CAUSING THE HARNESS AND ALL THE CONNECTING WIRES TO MELT. I HAD NO WARNING THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. MY VAN STARTED SMOKING, THE ODOMETER, SPEEDOMETER, AIR CONDITIONER NOTHING WAS WORKING. LUCKILY, I WAS ABOUT 1/8 MILE FROM MY HOUSE WHEN IT HAPPENED AND WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. THE VAN WAS IN THE SHOP FROM JUNE 14 TO AUGUST 28 BECAUSE A PART COULD NOT BE FOUND TO REPLACE THE ABS HARNESS. THE BILL FOR THE REPAIRS WAS OVER $1,000.00! *JB

THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS DISCOVERED WHEN THE DEALER CHANGED THE TIRES. THE UNBALANCED ROTATION CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO VIBRATE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 63,000.

THE CONTACT EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT TORSION BARS WERE HANGING OFF OF THE VEHICLE AND THE REAR AXLE WAS PARTIALLY SEPARATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER NOR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

ABS WARNING LAMP ON. DEALER SPENT CONSIDERABLE TIME TESTING EACH WHEEL SENSOR, UNABLE TO VERIFY CAUSE. CODE GIVEN WAS C1155: LF ANTI LOCK BRAKE SENSOR (ELECTRICAL/STATIC). LATER REPLACED ALL 4 WHEEL SENSORS WITH NO LUCK OF FIXING. REPLACEMENT OF ECM NECESSARY TO CLEAR MIL.
HAZARD LIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN OFF. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE CALLED IN GERMANY AND ADAC TECHNICIAN CHECKED FUSES AND MADE ADJUSTMENTS WITH FUSE BOX. PROBLEM STOPPED BUT TECHNICIAN NOT SURE WHY. (OCCURRENCE (1). 2)DOME LIGHTS INSIDE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN OFF. RESTARTED CAR, TURNED OFF DOME LIGHTS VIA ROLL SWITCH FOR INTERIOR LIGHTS. TURNED OFF VEHICLE AND LIGHTS DISENGAGED. BOTH BRAKE LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT ARE ON DURING OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE DURING WARMER OUTDOOR TEMPERATURES (SPRING, SUMMER, AND FALL), AND IS USUALLY OFF DURING COOLER OUTDOOR TEMPERATURES (WINTER). I HAD A FORD DEALERSHIP TELL ME THAT THE ABS CONTROL MODULE REQUIRES REPLACEMENT AT A COST OF ABOUT $600.00, AND THAT THE ABS SYSTEM IS NOT OPERATING WHEN THE ABS LIGHT IS ON. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE AND PROBABLY DUE TO A POORLY DESIGNED CONTROL MODULE. *TR
MY 2002 FORD WINDSTAR HAS HAD A COMBO OF PROBLEMS. THE FIRST IS THAT THE CAR WILL CHIME THE "OPEN DOOR" SOUND, AND THEN UNLOCK OR LOCK THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY, WHILE THE DOORS ARE UNLOCKING OR LOCKING THE OVER HEAD DOME LIGHTS FLICKER ON OR OFF, WHICH MAKES A PROBLEM SEEING DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING. AS THESE ISSUES ARE GOING ON THE POWER SLIDING REAR DOORS TRY TO OPEN, AGAIN THE OPEN DOOR SIGN LIGHTS UP ON THE DASH, THE DOORS UNLOCK, AND THE SLIDING DOORS TRY TO OPEN. THEY GRIND AS THEY ARE BEING FORCED TO OPEN, AS THEY ARE GRINDING, MY REARVIEW MIRROR LIGHT INDICATORS WILL FLASH THAT THE DOORS ARE BOTH OPEN. I HAVE TO PULL OVER FORCEFULLY OPEN THE DOORS AND MANUALLY CLOSE THEM. I HAVE HAD TO MOVE MY DAUGHTERS CAR SEAT TO THE THIRD ROW, BECAUSE OF THE FEAR SHE HAS OF FALLING OUT. THE MOST THEY HAVE EVER OPENED IS ENOUGH TO LET A BREEZE IN, BUT TRAVELING ON A FREEWAY AT 75 MPH, THAT IS A LITTLE TOO MUCH!!

I HAVE A 2002 FORD WINDSTAR MINIVAN. THIS MORNING THE REAR WINDSHIELD BROKE COMPLETLY. THERE WAS NO IMPACT OF ANY KIND TO CAUSE THIS FAILURE. NO ONE WAS INJURED, AND MY INSURANCE WILL COVER ALL BUT $100.00 FOR THE REPLACEMENT.*AK

I''M REPORTING THIS AS A FIRE HAZARD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY AND BEGAN TO SMOKE. THE VEHICLE IS IN GOOD REPAIR, NOT NEGLECTED OR ABUSED. I LOCATED THE SOURCE IT WAS THE ABS MODULE AND DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY UNTIL I COULD MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE DEALER. I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE ABS MODULE HAD FAILED AND BURNED THE WIRING HARNESS. THERE WERE NO WARNING LAMPS OR FUSES BURNED. I QUESTIONED WHY THERE WAS NO WARNING AND SHOULDN''T THERE BEEN SAFEGUARDS IN PLACE TO PREVENT SUCH DAMAGE. I ASKED IF THERE WERE OTHER CASES OF THE SAME OCCURRENCE AND THE DEALER DIDN''T KNOW. I ASKED IF THERE WAS SOMEONE ELSE I COULD CONTACT AND THEY TOLD ME I COULD CALL FORD CUSTOMER CARE. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A REPORT A PROBLEM THAT IS CURRENTLY BEING REPORTED BY FORD WINDSTAR OWNERS. I OWN A FORD WINDSTAR THAT HAS THE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE. THE PROBLEM OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY, AND IS NOT CONSISTENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD WINDSTAR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79000 ,AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84000. THE DASHBOARD BRAKE WARNING LIGHT WAS CONSTANTLY TURNED ON. BRAKE FLUID WAS PUT INTO THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER THE WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ON, AND THE VEHICLE STILL NEEDED MORE BRAKE FLUID. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD NO FAILURE STOPPING. REAR SLIDING PASSENGER DOORS FAIL TO CLOSE WHEN USING AUTO CLOSE FEATURE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND EACH TIME THE DOORS ARE SERVICED. SHORTLY AFTER BEING SERVICED THE DOOR STOP LATCHING CLOSED AGAIN. THE DOOR SLIDE HARDER ON THE VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH THE AUTO CLOSE FEATURE SO SOME OPERATORS WILL USE THE AUTO FEATURE AND THEN LATCH THE DOOR BY MANUALLY PUSHING ON IT. MISCOMMUNICATION HAS LEAD TO DRIVING WITH THE DOOR NOT LATCHED. WHEN DRIVING WITH DOOR UNLATCHED THE POWER LOCKS, AND INTERIOR LIGHTS MAY CYCLE ON AND OFF CAUSING A DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER AND INCREASE RISK OF ACCIDENT. *NM

MY 2002 FORD WINDSTAR VAN HAD AN INOPERABLE CRUISE CONTROL. I TRACED THE PROBLEM TO A LEAKING (BRAKE FLUID) SWITCH MOUNTED UNDER THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER. THE LEAKING SWITCH LEAKED FLAMMABLE BRAKE FLUID ONTO THE HOT ENGINE OR EXHAUST SYSTEM BUT DID NOT CAUSED A ENGINE FIRE. I PURCHASED A MODIFIED SWITCH AND WIRE HARNESS FROM THE FORD DEALER AND INSTALLED IT MYSELF. I WAS TOLD BY THE FORD PARTS SALESMAN THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR MY WINDSTAR AT THAT TIME. THIS IS THE SAME DEFECT FOUND ON THE OTHER FORD VEHICLES ACCORDING TO THE NEW YORK TIMES, 18 APRIL 2008. I STILL HAVE THE DEFECTIVE SWITCH IN HOPES I CAN BE REIMBURSED BY FORD. I PURCHASED A 2002 FORD WINDSTAR IN 2005. IN OCTOBER I TOOK IT IN FOR INSPECTION AND NEEDED TO HAVE ALL FOUR TIRES (ONE OF WHICH HAD BEEN REPLACED 6 MONTHS BEFORE), THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, A BREAK LIGHT BULB AND FRONT BRAKES REPLACED...NEEDLESS TO SAY IT FAILED AND I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING IT BACK IN (AFTER SAVING TO HAVE IT FIXED)! I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP IN NOVEMBER. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE TRANSMISSION WHICH WOULD NEED TO BE REPAIRED. THE COST, AS QUOTED BY THE SERVICE REP, WOULD BE ABOUT $1,500!!! I HAD JUST SPENT OVER $700 FOR THE OTHER REPAIRS! I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR! I HAVE SEARCHED SEVERAL WEBSITES AND HAVE FOUND THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS A FREQUENT PROBLEM WITH WINDSTAR OWNERS (OF VARIOUS YEARS 1995-2002), SOME OF WHICH WHO HAVE BEEN FORCED TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION FIXED MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS PROBLEM! I CANNOT CONTINUE TO SINK COUNTLESS DOLLARS INTO THIS VEHICLE AND I CANNOT TRADE IT UNTIL THE PROBLEMS ARE CORRECTED. OUR ANTI-LOCK BRAKES FAILED ON OUR 2002 FORD WINDSTAR. A DEFECTIVE SWITCH HAD LEAKED BRAKE FLUID INTO AN ENGINE WIRING HARNESS CAUSING THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM TO FAIL. THE ITEMS RECOMMENDED FOR REPLACEMENT WERE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET AND ASSOCIATED PARTS, OUTER TIE ROD END AND FRONT AXLE SEALS, TRANSMISSION PAN GASKET AND FILTER. MY HUSBAND, MY 7 MONTH OLD BABY AND I WERE DRIVING ON OUR WAY TO LUNCH AT ABOUT 30 MPH WHEN WE NOTICED SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE HOOD OF OUR 2002 FORD WINDSTAR. IMMEDIATELY SMOKE FILLED UP OUR CABIN THROUGH THE VENTS. MY HUSBAND PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND I QUICKLY GOT MY BABY OUT OF THE VAN. MY HUSBAND OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW FLAMES AND WE ALL RAN AWAY FROM THE CAR. MY HUSBAND RAN TO A NEARBY BUSINESS THAT LUCKILY HAD A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO PUT THE FIRE OUT IN TIME BEFORE WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR TO AN AUTO SHOP THAT HAPPENED TO BE VERY CLOSE TO WHERE THE INCIDENT HAPPENED. AFTER HAVING TO LET THE CAR COOL DOWN AND THE TERRIBLE SMELL GO AWAY THE MECHANICS LOOKED AT THE CAR AND TOLD US RIGHT AWAY THAT THEY KNEW IT WAS THE SAME CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED ON FORD TRUCKS. HE ADVISED US TO TAKE THE VAN TO FORD AND HAVE THEM FIX IT WITHOUT ANY CHARGE BECAUSE THAT WAS A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED IN THE WINDSTAR AS WELL. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE VAN TO THE LOCAL FORD SHOP AND THEY DID AGREE THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH. THEY "UPGRADED" THE PART AND THEN TRIED TO CHARGE US ALMOST $400 FOR THE JOB. NOT UNTIL AFTER I COMPLAINED TO THE MANAGER DID THEY WAIVE THE FEE, BUT TOLD ME IT WAS BECAUSE "I WAS A LOCAL CUSTOMER" (I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT ANYTHING FROM THEIR DEALERSHIP) THEY WAIVED THE FEE BECAUSE THEY KNEW THIS WAS A PROBLEM OF FORDS. *JB
I HAVE A 2002 FORD WINDSTAR THAT WE PURCHASED 2 YRS AGO, ...MORNING AFTER DELIVERY BATTERY WAS DEAD, TOOK BACK TO DEALER AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND SAID SHOULD BE FINE. OCCASIONALLY STILL DIES AND HAS TO BE CHARGED, ALTERNATOR & BATTERY CHECK OUT FINE. THE MOST DANGEROUS PROBLEM IS THAT THE ABS LIGHT IS ON AND ABS DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY. THE DEALERSHIP HOOKED VEHICLE UP TO MACHINE TO READ CODE AND CAN NOT GET ANY READINGS FROM SYSTEM. DEALERSHIP SEEMED TO THINK THAT IT COULD BE A WIRING PROBLEM OR ABS MODULE. ABS WILL OCCASIONALLY GO OUT/WORK BUT NOT PROPERLY, ABS WILL KICK IN ON DRY ROADS NOT WET/SNOW COVERED. TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED AND TIRE PRESSURES ARE ALL CORRECT. HAS BEEN RESET BUT COMES BACK ON AFTER DRIVING A FEW MILES. OCCASIONALLY IT WILL GO OUT ON ITS OWN BUT THEN THE SPEEDOMETER WILL BOUNCE AROUND (IF GOING 55 WILL JUMP TO 70,80). WHEN OPENING THE REAR TAILGATE HATCH AND CLOSING,THE DASH LIGHT STAYS ON LIKE IT IS STILL OPEN AND DOME LIGHTS WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY. WHEN DRIVING THE DOOR CHIME WILL SOUND AND THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL GO OUT AND WORKS PROPERLY UNTIL GATE IS OPENED AGAIN. WHEN DRIVING THE DOOR LIGHT AND CHIME WILL COME ON LIGHTS STAY ON. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ALSO COMES ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY WHEN USING THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR CONTROLS TO PUT WINDOWS UP/DOWN YOU HEAR LOUDER THEN NORMAL CLICKING. ALSO DIMS THE LIGHTS WHEN PUTTING WINDOWS UP/DOWN. WE CAN ALSO SMELL WHAT SEEMS TO BE WIRES BURNING AT TIMES BUT CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING. WE ARE AT A LOSS OF WHERE TO BEGIN. WE WILL NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ANY FURTHER THEN 50 MILE RADIUS FROM OUR HOME FOR FEAR OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF WE DO. IF WE GO FURTHER WE RENT A VEHICLE.
