VEHICLE WOULD MAKE VERY LOUD SOUND AND THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WOULD JERK WHEN GOING BEYOND 20 MPH, I WAS TERRIFIED OF PUTTING MY CHILDREN IN THIS CAR FEARING THAT I WOULD BE ENTERING THE INTERSTATE OF CARS TRAVELING 70 + MPH AND MY CAR NOT SHIFTING INTO GEAR!! AFTER TAKING IT IN FOR A 3RD TIME. THEY KEPT TELLING ME THAT NO CODES WERE COMING UP AND REFUSED TO LISTEN TO ME. AFTER READING ALL OF THE BLOGS ABOUT THIS HORRIBLE CAR I WENT INTO THE DEALERSHIP INSISTED THAT THE MANAGER RIDE WITH ME IN THE CAR TO FEEL AND HEAR WHAT WAS GOING ON IN WHICH HE DID. I TOLD HIM THAT THE WAVE PLATE WAS THE PROBLEM WITH THOUSANDS OF THESE CARS SO I WAS PRETTY SURE THIS WAS THE PROBLEM. HE SAID DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON THOSE BLOGS. WELL A FEW DAYS LATER THEY CALLED ME AND SAID THE WAVE PLATE WAS BAD AND THEY REPLACED IT!!! THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED FOR SEVERAL REASONS, POWER STEERING IS BAD AND NEEDED REPLACED, AND IS MAKING THE SAME SOUND AGAIN THAT IT WAS MAKING THE FIRST TIME IT WENT OUT, THE WATER PUMP WENT OUT AND WAS REPLACED. I AM ALMOST TO THE END OF MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND I HOLD MY BREATH EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY CAR PRAYING THAT MY TRANSMISSION DOESN'T GO OUT AGAIN, HORRIBLE TO HAVE THIS FEELING ON SUCH AN EXPENSIVE VEHICLE, I AM ASKING YOU TO PLEASE RECALL THESE 2007 ACADIA'S BEFORE SOMEONE LOOSES THEIR FAMILY'S LIVES! I WAS IN A AUTO ACCIDENT IN FEB/2012. I PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF SOMEONE AND THEY HIT ME AT THE LEFT FRONT FENDER AND DRIVERS DOOR. I WAS STOPPED AND THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING BETWEEN 55-60 MPH. NO AIR BAGS WENT OFF IN THE VEHICLE. I FEEL THAT AT LEAST THE SIDE AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE WENT OFF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REBUILD. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT TWO YEARS LATER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
THE CAR HAS LEAKED SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. WE HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP SEVERAL TIME AT THE PLACE WE BOUGHT IT AND IT CONTINUES TO LEAK. RECENTLY, THE LEAK HAS STARTED TO AFFECT THE ELECTRICAL WORKINGS OF THE CAR. THE FLOOR HAS BEEN SATURATED WITH WATER AND WHEN APPROACHING A STOP, WATER WILL POUR FROM THE CEILING, SOAKING THE DRIVER AND REAR PASSENGERS. THE WATER WILL RUN DOWN THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD WHICH IMPACTS VISIBILITY. *TR
WOW WHAT A SHOCK ANOTHER GCM ACADIA WITH STEERING PROBLEMS! I WAS TURNING A FEW DAYS AGO AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND IT ACTUALLY FELT LIKE I LOST A LOT OF POWER WHEN THIS HAPPENED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL. I NEARLY CRASHED INTO ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE OF THIS. IT ISNT A CONSTANT PROBLEM BUT IT OCCURS PROBABLY 75% OF THE TIMES I TURN AND MY TURNS ARE SUPER WIDE NOW. I CANNOT PARK ON THE FIRST TRY WHICH IS RIDICULOUS IT TAKES ME NOW 3 OR 4 TRIES TO PARK IN A SPACE AT WORK. I FEEL LIKE IM DRIVING MY DADS 1965 CHEVY THAT DIDNT COME WITH POWER STEERING. WHY HASNT THIS BEEN RECALLED?? ARE YOU WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GET KILLED BECAUSE THEY COULDNT TURN FAST ENOUGH??? THATS NEGLIGENCE!! I FOUND HUNDREDS OF DIFFERENT COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM ONLINE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE!! FIX THIS PLEASE!
NO RECALL FOR DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSIONS? BOUGHT 2007 ACADIAR USED, 2600 MILES /FELT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS EARLY ON. VERY NOTICEABLE JERK AT 40MPH. IN AND OUT OF DEALERSHIP SINCE. LAST FEW MONTHS CAR HAS BEEN IN TO DEALER FREQUENTLY RE CAR BUCKING AT STOP LIGHTS REALLY ROUGH THOUGHT ENGINE GOING TO DIE. EVERY TIME NOTHING SHOWED IN CODES, EMERGENCY TRIP TO DOCTOR/HEAVY TRAFFIC MAIN ARTERY/CAN'T GET OVER 20MPH/ENGINE SCREAMING/ MAKE IT TO DR. (OMG) TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. TRANSMISSION GONE. I COULD HAVE HAD A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. FINALLY HEARD SOMETHING ABOUT A WAVE PLATE. FOR 5 YRS I'VE SAID SOMETHING WRONG. NO ONE SAID THESE WERE CONSTANT PROBLEMS WITH ACADIAS. THEY ISSUED RECALLS FOR A LEAK IN THE SUN ROOF. NO RECALL FOR DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSIONS? KNOWN DEFECTIVE WAVE PLATES? I HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT MANY DON'T. WARRANTY OR NOT, THIS SAFETY HAZARD SHOULD BE FIXED BY GMC AT THEIR EXPENSE. A RECALL IS MANDATED. JUST ASK THE OWNERS. . . *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS WERE CONTINUOUSLY BURNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BULB WAS OVERHEATING CAUSING THE HOUSING TO MELT ON BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE. AS A RESULT, THE HEAD LIGHT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,600.
2007 GMC ACADIA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS AND THE TRANSMISSION. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED ON DECEMBER 17, 2011, THE LEFT HEADLIGHT BURNED UP FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE LOCAL DEALER QUOTED HIM $1,213.59. HE WAS ABLE TO GET THE HEADLIGHT FIXED FOR$ 695.67. ON DECEMBER 2, 2012 THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE CONSUMER HAD A REBUILT TRANSMISSION INSTALLED AT A COST OF $ 3,737.25.
MY 2007 GMC ACADIA HAS ALWAYS HAD VERY POOR TRACTION ON WET ROADS AND SOMETIMES ON DRY ROADS. YESTERDAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN HEAVY RAIN WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY JERKED TO THE RIGHT AS THOUGH MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE HAD RUN OVER A LARGE OBJECT. A FEW MINUTES LATER IT JERKED RIGHT THEN LEFT THEN RIGHT AGAIN. EACH TIME THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK FOR AN INSTANT. I FOUND MYSELF PARTLY OVER IN THE OTHER LANE. A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I DIDN'T NOTICE ANY WARNING LIGHTS. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED TWICE MORE BEFORE I REALIZED THAT IT SEEMED TO BE HAPPENING ONLY ON UPSLOPING PARTS OF THE ROAD OR WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE. AS I HAD ALWAYS SUSPECTED, THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ON THIS CAR IS FAULTY AND DANGEROUS. FAULTY POWER STEERING COLD ALSO BE A POSSIBILITY. I TRIED TO DRIVE HOME AT A STEADY SPEED AND HAD NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. ABOUT A YEAR AGO I TOLD MY LOCAL GMC DEALER THAT I THOUGHT THE CAR HAD VERY POOR TRACTION AND THE SYSTEM SHOULD BE LOOKED AT. THEY TOLD ME THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. *TR
WAVE PLATE BROKE INTO PIECES IN TRANSMISSION IN NOV 2011 WITH 75,000 MILES. NOW SAME ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION IN OCTOBER 2013 WITH 102,000 MILES. *TR
2007 GMC ACADIA TRANSMISSION SLIPS CONTINUALLY UNTIL IT HAD A COMPLETE FAILURE AT 127,000 NEEDING 2,3,5 AND REVERSE WAVE PLATES. GOOGLE ACADIA TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, WHY HAS THIS TRANSMISSION NOT BEEN RECALLED? GM FAILED TO HARDEN THESE WAVE PLATES IN THE 2007 & 2008 GMC ACADIA ALONG WITH THE CLONE CARS IN THE GM LINE UP. THERE ARE DOCUMENTED FAILURES OUT THERE AS SOON AS 25,000 MILES. THIS TRANSMISSION IS SUCH A PIECE OF JUNK. THE LOCAL TRANSMISSION SHOP WORKS ON THIS TRANSMISSION MORE THAN ANY OTHER. DID THE NHTSA STOP HOLDING GM ACCOUNTABLE FOR GROSS NEGLIGENCE AFTER THE BAILOUT? I GUESS THE ONLY RECOURSE IS TO TAKE MATTERS INTO OUR OWN HANDS LIKE MINI COOPER DRIVERS AND BECOME PART OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. *TR
MOLD/MUSTY SMELL, WATER LEAKING FROM DVD ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM AND UNDER DASH ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER FLOORBOARDS. DEALER CLEANED SUNROOF DRAINS, REPLACED SUNROOF SEAL, STILL LEAKING. WATER IS SETTLING INTO ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN DASH INCLUDING THE BLOWER MOTOR. *TR
TRANSMISSION STUCK IN LOW GEAR CAUSING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITION. *JS
WATER LEAKING FROM FRONT PASSENGER SEATBELT IN HEAVY RAIN. THIS IS ALSO THE SAME ARE WHERE AN AIRBAG IS LOCATED. THE AIRBAG SYMBOL ACTUALLY HAS WATER LEAKING FROM IT. *TR
WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THERE WAS A NOTICEABLE WHINE IN THE STEERING. I ASKED THE SALESMAN AND HE SAID THAT NOISE WAS TYPICAL WITH ACADIA'S AND THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE CAR. WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT A DIFFERENT DEALER RIGHT BEFORE WE LEFT ON VACATION, I WAS TOLD THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS GOING OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. DID THAT EVEN THOUGH WE WERE DELAYED GOING ON VACATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY HAD IT REPLACED TWO MORE TIMES AS WELL. ALSO HAVE HAD LEAKS IN THE SUNROOF THAT CONTINUE TO RETURN, AND HAVE NOW MESSED UP MY POWER WINDOW CONTROLS TO THE POINT THAT I CAN NOT CONTROL ANY OF THE OTHER WINDOWS FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT. HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE WATER PUMP, FRONT STRUTS, AND NOW THE SOLENOIDS ARE BEING REPLACED AS WELL. WHEN I PURCHASED MY CAR IT HAD RIGHT AT 54K MILES ON IT AND I HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, THAT COVERED MY POWER STEERING PUMP ISSUES, BUT I HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH THE REST. I WILL HAVE NOW PUT ALMOST $3K INTO REPAIRS THAT SEEM TO BE VERY TYPICAL WITH THIS CAR, BASED ON WHAT I HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET. *TR
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING JERKS AND BUMPS WHEN SHIFTING. PASSENGERS NOTED THERE WAS ISSUES ALSO. LOSES POWER GOING UP HILLS. TOOK IT TO COCHRAN PONTIAC FOR TWO YEARS AND DID NOT CORRECT SITUATION, SINCE THERE WERE NO CODES ON THE COMPUTER EVEN THOUGH THE CAR HAD NO POWER AND WAS JERKING. ENGINE LIGHT, ANTILOCK BRAKING, NO REAR SENSORS, AND THE FUEL GAUGE LIGHTS ARE NOW ON AFTER ANOTHER DEALER FIXED TRANSMISSION AND I HAD TO PAY $1,500 AND I SHOULD HAVE NOT PAID ANYTHING. I DID NOT HAVE THESE LIGHTS ON MY DASH BOARD WHEN I WENT TO GET THE TRANSMISSION FIXED AND THE DEALER HAS NOT FIXED THEM. RECENTLY, MY CAR LOST POWER AND DIED ON A BLIND DANGEROUS CURVE AND SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE. I WAS AFRAID TO GET HIT AND FELT MY CAR WAS UNSAFE. WE PUT GAS IN AND WOULD NOT START AND ENGINE WAS HOT. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALER AFTER TWO WEEKS FROM GETTING THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRED AND TOLD DEALER TRANSMISSION HAS NOISES IN IT AND ENGINE WAS HOT AND CAR WOULD NOT START. THEY CALLED AND SAID IT WAS OUT OF GAS AND RUNS NOW, HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUES NOTED ABOVE FOR ALL OF THE LIGHTS THAT WERE ON THE DASH BOARD. THE GAS WAS NOT THE ISSUE BEFORE CAR WAS TOWED SINCE WE PUT GAS IN THERE WHEN IT BROKE DOWN. THIS 2007 ACADIA HAS HAD ISSUES SINCE 2011 THAT CONTINUE TO PRESENT AND THIS SUV IS KNOWN TO HAVE MANY RECALLS AND IS UNSAFE. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES WITH COMPLAINTS BY THE CUSTOMER. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2007 GMC ACADIA IN APRIL 2011 USED FROM CARMAX. ON MAY 6, 2011, I HAD IN BRING IT IN BECAUSE I NOTICED WATER AND LOUD WIND NOISE. THEY HAD TOLD ME THAT THE GASKET SEAL ON THE SUNROOF HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE THE WATER WAS LEAKING FROM INTO THE HEADLINER AND INTO MY CAR. AFTER THAT I STILL HAD THE SAME ISSUES BUT HAD NO TIME TO BRING IT TO GET FIXED. THE WATER HAS LEAKED FROM THE MOONROOF AREA, FROM THE READING LIGHT ON THE THIRD ROW, FROM FRONT DIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR AIRBAGS, FROM THE PASSENGER SEATBELT AREA, AND FROM THE HEADLINER ABOVE THE MIDDLE ROW. ON JULY 7, 2012 THE LEAKING HAPPENED AGAIN SO I CALLED GM. THEY SAID THAT THE RECALL OR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION DRAIN TUBE EXTENDERS WERE DONE ON 2-9-09 AT 26,139 MILES AND THAT THE TUBES MAY BE CLOGGED. I WAS TOLD I SHOULD TAKE IT IN TO A GMC DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. I TOOK IT IN ON JULY 12, 2012 AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE SUNROOF GASKET THAT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED AND THAT THE TUBES WERE NOT CLOGGED. THEY COULD SEE WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM THE SEAL. SO IT COST ME 240.00 TO HAVE THAT FIXED AND GM SAID THEY WOULD NOT HELP PAY BECAUSE THE ISSUE HAD BEEN RESOLVED WITH THE DRAIN TUBE EXTENDERS. I GOT MY VEHICLE BACK ON JULY 16, 2012 THE GM DISTRICT SPECIALIST ASKED ME IF I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE WORK AND I TOLD HIM I WAS NOT SURE BECAUSE IT HAD NOT RAINED AGAIN YET. WELL, ON JULY 19, 2012 IT RAIN AND THE 240.00 I PAID TO THE HAVE PROBLEM FIXED BY REPLACING THE SUNROOF GASKET SEAL STILL HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM.THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING AND NOT SAFE BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL AND AIRBAGS THAT ARE GETTING WET WITH WATER. WILL MY AIRBAGS WORK IN AN ACCIDENT SINCE THEY HAVE HAD WATER COMING FROM WHERE IT SAYS AIRBAG! *TR
TRANSMISSION DEAD-RACING RPM WITHOUT GEAR SHIFTING, BROKEN WAVE PLATE INSIDE TRANSMISSION IS THE CAUSE. WATER LEAKING FROM SUNROOF WHEN RAINING, CONSTANT WHINNING IN STEERING COLUMN. ALL THESE MAJOR PROBLEMS UNDER 75K MILES. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 GMC ACADIA WITH 59,000 MILES ON IT. AT 29,000 MILES ON IT, THEY REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP. NOW AT 59,000 THEY ARE SAYING IT NEEDS A STEERING RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY AND POSSIBLY A PUMP. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, I FOUND THAT THESE ITEMS HAVE A VERY HIGH FAILURE RATE IN THESE VEHICLES. THIS SEEMS LIKE AN OBVIOUS DEFECT THAT WOULD BE VERY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THAT WHEN THESE PARTS FAIL, THE VEHICLE IS ALMOST IF NOT DEFINITELY IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER HER VEHICLE WAS SERVICED, SHE WAS INFORMED THAT HER STEERING RACK AND OPINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY ADVISED HER THAT IT WAS DUE TO INSUFFICIENT GREASE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,000. WE HAVE EXPERIENCED RECURRING LEAKS IN ROOF OF VEHICLE, APPARENTLY RELATED TO PROBLEMS WITH SUNROOF DRAINS, RESULTING IN ISSUES WITH ELECTRICAL SYSTEM (INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WITH STEREO, WINDOWS, POWER LOCKS, POWER MIRRORS, ETC.) VERY CONCERNED ABOUT IMPACT ON AIR BAGS. *TR

PASSENGERS FRONT SEAT AIRBAGS. BOTH FRONT AND SIDE ARE EFFECTED. SENSOR IN SEAT BECOMES INOP AND THE DRIVER IS NOT AWARE THE CHILD IN THE FRONT SEAT IS NOT PROTECTED BY THE AIRBAG SYSTEM!!!! CAN RESULT IN DEATH!!! SEAT SENSOR STOPPED WORKING IN THE FIRST 3 YEARS OF SERVICE. THE APPARENT RECALL OF 2007 WAS A TEMP FIX. *TR
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE WASHER FLUID LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TAKEN IT FOR REPAIR THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT 8 MONTHS AFTER THE VEHICLE THREE MONTHS LATER AT THIS PRESENT TIME. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE FOR NOT EVEN A YEAR, THE TRANSMISSION HAS GIVEN OUT BEYOND REPAIR. I HAVE GOTTEN SEVERAL DIFFERENT PEOPLE TO LOOK AT IT, ITS BEYOND REPAIR (REBUILD). I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS I REALLY HOPE THIS HELPS, I DON'T THINK THE CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR OF THIS CONSTANT PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK AND THE VEHICLE WOULD MAKE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN MAKING TURNS. SHE ALSO STATED THAT THE GAS GAUGE FLUCTUATES AND DOES NOT DISPLAY THE ACCURATE AMOUNT OF GAS LEFT IN THE VEHICLE. AN INSPECTION WAS DONE BY THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT SHE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE RUBBER ON THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE GAS GAUGE. THE STEERING REPAIR WAS COMPLETED BUT NOT THE GAS GAUGE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 33,000.
BOUGHT A USED 2007 GMC ACADIA SLT IN MAY OF 2010, SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD HEADLIGHTS BLOWING CONSTANTLY, ENGINE SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING, WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON, HOWEVER MY BIGGEST ISSUE IS THAT I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN SUNNY EL PASO, TX AND THEN MOVED TO RAINY GERMANY WITH THE MILITARY. NOW THE CAR IS CONSTANTLY LEAKING WATER FROM THE SEAT BELTS, AIRBAG SQUARES, EMERGENCY BRAKE, DVD SYSTEM AND SEVERAL PLACES ON THE ROOF (INSIDE) AND THE PILLARS (INSIDE). I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS MESSING WITH ALL THE ELECTRICAL OF MY CAR AND I AM WONDERING IF MY AIRBAGS WILL WORK IF EVER NEEDED. IT SEEMS THERE IS HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ACROSS THE WORLD THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BUT GMC WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. MY PASSENGER SIDE HEAD LIGHT WENT OUT ON MY 2007 GMC ACADIA. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY ANY LONGER IT HAS 45,000 MILES ON IT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD ADD A FENDER COVER THAT WOULD PREVENT WATER FROM SPLASHING ONTO THE POWER STEERING. THE FENDER COVER WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND WOULD COST THE CONTACT $200. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT THE DEALER TO CONFIRM THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL THE CONTACT WITH FURTHER DETAILS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
THE VEHICLE LEAKS WATER ON BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT FLOOR BOARDS AND APPEARS TO BE ALSO COMING DOWN THE BACK OF THE FRONT DASH. THIS OCCURS IN LIGHT RAIN UP TO SEVERE RAIN. IT HAS BEEN DEALER REPAIRED (SEALED AND GASKET MATERIAL APPLIED) AND THAT SEAMED TO WORK THE FIRST TIME FOR A WHILE AND NOW IT IS LEAKING IN THE SAME PLACE AGAIN. *TR
FRONT AND REAR WIPER AND SPRAY CONTROL WORKING BACKWARDS. THE FRONT CONTROL SWITCH ACTIVATES THE FRONT WIPERS AND REAR SPRAY AND THE REAR CONTROL SWITCH OPERATES THE REAR WIPERS AND FRONT SPRAY. THIS APPEARS TO HAVE OCCURRED AFTER SERVICE RECALL FOR HEATING AND SNOW/ICE ISSUES AS IT WORKED PROPERLY BEFORE THE SERVICE. *TR

I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2007 GMC ACADIA IN NOV. OF 2007. SINCE NEW IT HAS HAD A STEERING ISSUE THAT CAN NOT BE FIXED. THE RACK AND PINION HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE HAS BURNED UP NUMEROUS POWERSTEERING PUMPS. THE STEERING, WHILE IN A CURVE, WILL LOCK UP AND THEN RELEASE THROWING THE VEHICLE IN THE DIRECTION THE WHEEL IS TURNED. IT HAS THROWN THE VEHICLE INTO THE OTHER LANE OF ON COMING TRAFFIC AS WELL AS THROWING THE VEHICLE OF THE ROAD INTO A FENCE. EACH TIME THE DEALERSHIP HAS PICKED THE VEHICLE UP REPLACED THE STEERING PUMPS BUT THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 47,000 MILES ON IT. THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP AND THE SHIFTING COMPONENTS WERE REPLACED, THEN THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP AND WAS REPLACED. THE STEERING ISSUE IS ARE MAIN CONCERN. IT WAS TAKEN IN ON 9/28/10 AND RECEIVED NEW TRANSMISSION AND POWERSTEERING PUMP. WE RECEIVED THE VEHICLE ON 10/25/2010. ON, 10/28/10 THE VEHICLE STEERING LOCKED UP AGAIN THROWING MY WIFE OFF THE ROAD INTO A FENCE. THERE IS NO WAY THAT GM HAS PUT THREE BAD POWER STEERING PUMPS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS A MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT IS BINDING THE STEERING CAUSING THE PUMPS TO BURN UP. THE SAME PROBLEM HAS MADE THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THE DANGER OF IT LOCKING UP AND THROWING THE VEHICLE INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC. I HAVE ALL SERVICE RECORDS REPORTING THIS ISSUE. I OWN A 2007 GMC ARCADIA AND SOMETIMES WHEN I GO THROUGH WATER (IF IT'S BEEN A HEAVY RAIN) MY POWER STEERING DOES NOT WORK AND IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER THE CAR WHICH COULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I BOUGHT A 2007 GMC ACADIA BRAND NEW. RECENTLY HAVE BEEN HAVING SERIOUS WATER LEAKS ON PASSENGER SIDE. THE AREAS ARE THE SEATBELT AREA AND NEAR THE FLOORBOARD. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN THE CAR GOES THROUGH WATER/PUDDLE THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER STEERING. THERE IS A LOSS OF STEERING. DRIVING MY 2007 GMC ACADIA. WENT TO PASS A SLOWER VEHICLE, PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO PASS AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT HAYWIRE AND THE ACCELERATOR STUCK. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO GET IT STOPPED. THE RPMS WERE IN THE 4000S. THEN THE ACCELERATION WOULD STOP AND START AGAIN OVER TO 4000. LUCKILY WHEN I PASSED THE VEHICLE THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME OR I WOULD HAVE HAD A MAJOR ACCIDENT WITH THE ACCELERATION OUT OF CONTROL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT TWO OF THE TIMING CHAINS WERE VERY WORN AND THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE CLUTCH PRESSURE CONTROL WITH HARSH SHIFTS IN DRIVE RANGE 3RD AND/OR 5TH GEAR. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME THE GMC DEALER 'FLASHED' (REPROGRAMMED) THE TRANSMISSION, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT ACTING UP WHEN THE CAR WAS TAKEN INTO THE SHOP. IF THIS ISSUE IS NOT ADDRESSED "PROPERLY", I BELIEVE SOMEONE SOMEWHERE WILL BE INJURED OR KILLED. THE CONDITION MY VEHICLE EXHIBITED LEAVES ME WITH A VERY UNEASY FEELING. *TR
FOR QUITE SOME TIME, THE FRONT RIGHT AIR BAG SENSOR DOES NOT SENSE THAT THERE IS A PASSENGER SITTING IN THE FRONT RIGHT SEAT. WE HAVE HAD THE SENSOR CHECKED REPEATEDLY AT THE DEALER, AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM (SAYING EVERYTHING IS FINE). THE PASSENGERS TYPICALLY ARE OUR CHILDREN, BOTH OF WHOM ARE 5'9" TALL AND WEIGH 120 TO 125 POUNDS. WE USUALLY HAVE TO STOP THE CAR, TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON, AND THEN IT WORKS. THIS PAST WEEK, THE SENSOR WAS FLASHING, AND WE GOT A RELATED "SERVICE AIR BAG" LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD. WE TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER, AND HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS A $1,000 REPAIR TO REPLACE THE FRONT RIGHT PASSENGER SENSOR MODULE. THIS AFTER WE HAVE HAD THIS ITEM CHECKED MULTIPLE TIMES (AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING WRONG WITH IT), AND, AFTER A FULL EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE CAR (WHICH INCLUDED AIR BAGS) HAS EXPIRED. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR 2007 GMC ACADIAS FOR IMPROPER SENSORS, BUT OUR CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. IN 'GOOGLING' THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET, WE SEE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON OFFICIAL CAR SITES LIKE EDMUNDS, STATING A SIMILAR PROBLEM FOR OTHER ACADIAS. WE BELIEVE THAT GMC HAS KNOWN THAT IT HAS HAD FAULTY SENSORS ON THEIR 2007 GMC ACADIA MODELS, BUT DID NOT MAKE THEIR 2007 RECALL COMPREHENSIVE ENOUGH. WE WOULD LIKE FOR THE NHTSB TO INVESTIGATE WITH GMC HOW MANY OTHER 2007 GMC ACADIAS HAVE BEEN SERVICED FOR SIMILAR PROBLEMS. OUR CAR HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY VEHICLE CRASH OR ACCIDENT. *TR

IN 2010 I REPORTED A NOISE IN THE STEERING. GMC DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT THE STEERING ROD NEEDED REPLACED. THEY WORKED ON THE VEHICLE AND WHEN DRIVING AWAY THE STEERING STILL HAD THE SAME NOISE. OBVIOUSLY THIS WAS NOT THE STEERING ROD CAUSING THE ISSUE. I REPORTED THIS ISSUE AGAIN AND THEY DETERMINE THAT THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING FLUID. THEY ADDED FLUID AND IT TEMPORARILY CAUSED THE NOISE TO GO AWAY. THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH TWO SEPARATE GMC DEALERSHIPS OVER THE YEARS. FINALLY NOW THAT MY ACADIA HAS 55,000 MILES THE DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THE NOISE IS THE STEERING COLUMN AND IS WANTING TO CHARGE ME $1450 TO FIX IT. THIS WAS UNDER WARRANTY WHEN THE PROBLEM CAME UP AND I FEEL IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BY GMC MANUFACTURER SINCE THIS WAS AN ISSUE EARLY ON WITH THIS VEHICLE. GMC IS ALSO HAVING ISSUE WITH STEERING COLUMN IN 2009 -2012 GMC AUTOMOBILES SO THIS IS NOT A NEW ISSUE. *TR
TOOK 2007 GMC ACADIA IN BECAUSE AC BLOWER MOTOR WAS NOT WORKING. WHEN AC WAS TURNED ON IT WOULD MAKE A LOUD NOISE AND COULDN'T GET AIR TO FLOW. THEY DETERMINED THAT THE BLOWER MOTOR WENT OUT DUE TO WATER LEAKING IN THOUGH THE SIDE AND FRONT BODY PANELS. SINCE THE 36,000 BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY IS UP THIS LEAK IS NO LONGER COVERED. WE HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT BECAUSE THE MOTOR WENT OUT DUE TO A WATER LEAK THE BLOWER MOTOR IS NOT COVERED. SO WE HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR SOMETHING THAT IS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE TO BEGIN WITH. I HAVE ALSO HAD WATER LEAK IN THROUGH THE INSIDE AIRBAG SQUARE, I HOPE THAT THIS INFLATES IF I NEED THEM. *TR

THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP TOLD US THAT THEY DID NOT SEE ANYTHING IN THE MAJOR PARTS BUT DID TRY TO CALL A GM DEALERSHIP (KING CADILLAC). KING WAS NOT OPEN AND WOULD SCHEDULE AN APPT ON MONDAY. MY HUSBAND DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHICH WE LEFT FOR EARLY DROP OFF. RECEIVED A CALL FROM TECHNICAL ON MONDAY PM, WHICH STATED IT WAS THE POWER STEERING PUMP. ASKED HIM ABOUT IF THERE WAS ANY COMPLAINT OR RECALLS ON THE PUMP BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS REPLACE BACK AT 14,000 MILES. THIS WOULD BE THE 3RD PUMP THAT HAS BEEN PUT ON THIS CAR. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ON SEPT. 10, 2008 FOR THIS PROBLEM AND MANY COMPLAINTS SINCE 2008. *TR
2007 GMC ACADIA PRODUCED MESSAGE STABILITRACK OFF. THE CAR STARTED TO SLOW. LOOKED IN OWNERS MANUAL, IT SAID TO PULL OVER SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND WAIT 15 SECONDS AND RESTART. I DID THAT BUT WAITED 25 SECONDS TRIED TO RESTART, NOTHING HAPPENED. WHEN THIS HAPPENED ALL THE GAUGES MALFUNCTIONED AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WAS TOWED TO DEALER, DEALER DID DIAGNOSTICS, AND SAID COULD NOT FIND NOTHING WRONG. THIS HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE WITHOUT THE CONSEQUENCE OF NOT STARTING.
