TIMING CHAIN ISSUES. I AM ABOUT TO PAY $2500.00 TO REPLACE THE TIMING CHAINS. I KEEP READING THAT THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED, BUT SINCE SO MANY PEOPLE ARE STILL HAVING TO PROBLEM, I GUESS THEY HAVEN'T FIXED THE PROBLEM
I WAS AT A LOCAL DRIVE THRU WINDOW AND I WAS STOPPED, MY CAR WAS IN PARK. I WAS BEGINNING TO LEAVE, CAR IN DRIVE AND I HIT THE PASSENGER FRONT RIGHT TIRE ON THE CURB. SO I LEFT OFF THE GAS, TURNED THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT TO GET OFF THE CURB BUT THE GAS PEDAL "STUCK." IT DID NOT LIFT UP! I TRIED TO PUSH ON THE BRAKES, BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO UN-STICK THE GAS PEDAL BY SHOVING MY FOOT UNDER THE PEDAL AND LIFTING IT UP! I WAS FORCED FULL SPEED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND I HAD MY ENTIRE FAMILY IN MY CAR!! SCARY, AND TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. THANKFULLY WE ARE ALL OK, BUT MY GAS PEDAL SHOULD NOT BE STICKING!
"TAKATA RECALL" WE WERE NOTIFIED NOVEMBER 2015 THAT OUR AIR BAGS COULD CAUSE SEVER INJURY OR DEATH! WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU WAITING FOR..ANOTHER LAWSUIT!!!!! WHEN WILL THIS BE REPAIRED OR GIVEN A SAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE IN THE INTERIM?????!!!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE TURN SIGNAL, DOOR AJAR, SEAT BELT, BACKUP CAMERA, AND OTHER COMPONENTS WERE NOT FUNCTIONING AND WERE NOT AUDIBLE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
CURRENT RECALL STATES: "THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, EQUIPPED WITH THE POWER LIFTGATE OPTION, HAVE GAS STRUTS THAT HOLD THE POWER LIFTGATE UP WHEN OPEN. THESE STRUTS MAY PREMATURELY WEAR AND THE OPEN LIFTGATE MAY SUDDENLY FALL." MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY HAVING THIS PROBLEM. THE BACK LIFT GATE WILL OPEN AND THEN WITH GREAT FORCE CLOSES DOWN QUICKLY. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY CONCERN AS I WAS STRUCK BY IT ON MONDAY 10/26/2015 WHEN THE PROBLEM INITIALLY OCCURRED. AFTER SPEAKING WITH GMC THERE IS CURRENTLY NO RESOLVE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AS I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN, AND NO RESOLUTION IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
TIMING BELT ISSUES!
TIRES CRACKING BETWEEN THE TREAD WHEN THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ON THE CAR TWO YEARS, READ THAT GOODYEAR TIRE COMPANY HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH SOME TIRES, BUT DO NOT SEE MINE LISTED. FORTERA HL 225/65R18 4BXN ARDR 2813 ? I WAS TOLD THESE ARE NOT SAFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V415000 (STRUCTURE), THE HATCHBACK COLLAPSED ON THE CONTACT. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE COULD BE HEARD COMING FROM THE HATCHBACK MOTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 127,681.
50,000 MILES AND THE STEERING PUMP OR RACK IS LEAKING AND WHINING. POWER STEERING VERY SLUGGISH AT LOW IDLE SPEEDS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER PARKED THE VEHICLE, TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND REMOVED THE KEY, BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO OPERATE. THE BATTERY CABLE HAD TO BE DETACHED IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO POWER OFF. AFTER TEN MINUTES, THE CONTACT RECONNECTED THE BATTERY AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED FOR THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
TRANSMISION SLIPS IN DRIVE ON HILLS. IT ACTUALLY ROLLS BACKWARDS WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OF THE BRAKE. EVEN WHEN THE TRANSMISION IS IN GEAR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE THROTTLE MALFUNCTIONED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED RAPIDLY WITHOUT WARNING ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 95 MPH. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH BOTH FEET. BESSETTE MOTORS IN CARRINGTON, NORTH DAKOTA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THE PEDAL POSITIONING SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT *TR
VEHICLE IS HARD TO STEER WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REVERSE AND PARK OR TURN RIGHT OR LEFT. STEERING SO HARD THAT ALMOST CANT TURN AT ALL. CHECKED POWER STEERING FLUID AND IT IS FULL. ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE RADIO CHANGING STATIONS ON ITS OWN AS WELL. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING OVER AND OVER AGAIN. DOES NOT MATTER HOW FAST YOU ARE DRIVING
THE CAM SHAFT ENGINE CORRELATION CODE INDICATED STRETCHED TIMING AND CHAIN GUIDES. EXTENDED WARRANTEES UP TO 10 YEARS AND 120,000 MILES HAVE BEEN OFFERED FOR 2007 AND 2009 GMC ACADIAS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. TO DATE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN OFFERED FOR THE 2010 MODEL EVEN THOUGH IT'S THE SAME ISSUE. MINE FAILED AT 63,000.00 MILES. HAD TO HAVE THE TIMING CHAINS REPLACED. DEALERSHIP REPAIRED WITH GM PAYING HALF. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL DUE TO THE FACT MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN 2009 AND SHOULD FALL UNDER THE ABOVE MENTIONED RECALL AS THE FAILURE IS FOR THE SAME REASON.
MOST OF THE ACADIA'S 2007-2012 ARE AFFECTED BY THE TIMING CHAIN BEING LOSE AND GM HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THIS AND EXTENDED THE WARRANTY. HOWEVER, FOR SOME REASON MINE IS NOT COVERED BUT IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM. NOW I AM $3600 OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPAIR.
AS I WAS DRIVING ALONG, THE POWER STEERING FAILED SUDDENLY. I GOT TO A SAFE PLACE, CHECKED THE POWER STEERING FLUID. IT WAS FULL. SINCE THAT EVENT, THE POWER STEERING FAILS REGULARLY AND MAKES THE VEHICLE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO MANEUVER.
WHEN MAKING TURNS WITH THE CAR THE STEERING COMPLETELY GAVE AWAY AND WAS VERY HARD TO MANEUVER A TURN CORRECTLY. WAS TAKEN TO THE GARAGE WHO INFORMED US THAT THE RACK AND PINION WAS BAD AND THE POWER STEERING COLUMN. FINDING OUT THAT THIS IS A ISSUE WITH ALMOST ALL GMC ACADIA'S WAS VERY UPSETTING TO LEARN. IF THIS IS A ISSUE WITH THAT MANY OF THEM WHY HAS THERE NOT YET BEEN A RECALL ON THIS. SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL I AM STUCK PAYING WELL OVER $1000.00 TO FIX SO THAT I CAN HOPEFULLY NOT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. GMC NEEDS TO DO A BUY BACK RECALL ON THESE MODELS AS THEY ARE NOT SAFE. THANKFUL THAT I WAS ALONE AT THE TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED HOWEVER COULD HAVE VERY EASILY CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT HAD I NOT NOTICED WHEN I WAS SOPPED TO MAKE A TURN. HOW MANY PEOPLE NEED TO BE KILLED OR HURT BEFORE THEY WILL FIX.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. RUNNING LIGHT WAS OUT AND DISCOVERED THAT BOTH RUNNING LAMPS BULBS HAD MELTED IN THEIR SOCKETS AND ELECTRICAL WIRES BURNED AND SHORTED, THIS REQUIRED THAT BOTH LAMP UNITS BE REPLACED. POTENTIAL ELECTRICAL FIRE HAZARD. I HAD REPORTED TO THE DEALER, IN 2013 THAT THE INSIDE OF THE LAMP APPEARED SMOKY BUT THEIR REPLY WAS THAT IT WAS MOISTURE CONDENSATION. REPLACED PARTS NUMBER 22938888 & 22938889 THE VEHICLE IS ONLY DRIVEN DAYTIME, LOCALLY IN 10 MILE RADIUS, AND GARAGED ALL THE TIME. --THE REASON FOR THE LOW MILAGE. I SUSPECT THAT THE UNIT WAS CONSTRUCTED IN A MANNER THAT THE HEAT OF THE LAMP MAY NOT HAVE ADEQUATE VENTILATION TO DISSIPATE CONSEQUENTLY THERE IS A SLOW MELTING OF THE PLASTIC HOUSING, THIS IS A DESIGN FAILURE WHICH COULD LEAD TO ELECTRICAL FIRE.
NOTHING SPECIFICALLY HAPPENED, BUT I'M WANTING TO MAKE A COMPLAINT REGARDING ISSUES WITH MY CAR. AT 30K MILES, I HAD A POWER STEERING LEAK IN WHICH THE PUMP WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. IN FOR SERVICING TODAY, NOW TOLD I HAVE ANOTHER LEAK, BUT THIS TIME THE GEAR ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. COST IS 1800. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE IN WHICH THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND IT SEEMS THAT NOTHING IS BEING DONE. SO FAR I HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE FORTINATE ONES AND HAVE NOT BEEN INJURED OR INJURED SOMEONE ELSE. I HAVE HAD ONGOING ISSUES SINCE PURCHASING MY CAR NEW. THIS IS THE ONE REPEAT ISSUE THUS FAR AND DEFINITELY MOST EXPENSIVE SO FAR. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW GMC CAN PUT OUT A DEFECTIVE PART/CAR WITHOUT TAKING ANY RESPONSIBILITY. SOME OF US CAN NOT AFFORD TO KEEP BUYING CARS. I BUY A NEW CAR, FOLLOW ALL RECOMMENDED SERVICING AND IT'S STILL NOT ENOUGH. AS A CONSUMER WHAT RIGHTS DO I HAVE? FROM MY VANTAGE POINT, NONE. I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO OR WHAT RIGHTS I HAVE, BUT SAW SUGGESTIONS ON THE ACADIAFORUM TO FILE COMPLAINT HERE OR AT LEAST HAVE MY VOICE HEARD.
AIR CONDITIONING WENT OUT. IT NEEDS FRONT EVAPORATIVE CORE. GM IS AWARE OF THIS, IT IS ALMOST A $2,000 REPAIR AND THEY JUST IGNORE IT.
STEERING GEAR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE IS 5 YEARS OLD WITH 55.000 MILES. VEHICLE WILL NOT TURN UNLESS YOU PRESS ON THE GAS OR HAVE MOTION. CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY SO GETTING REPAIRED SOON AT OUR EXPENSE. $600 FOR THE PART PLUS $150 ALIGNMENT AND DEALERSHIP WANTS $1800 TOTAL. WITH THIS MANY COMPLAINTS AND THE NUMBER OF VEHICLES THAT NEED IT DONE (SEEMS TO BE ALL ACADIA'S 4-5YRS OF AGE), THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.
MY SON WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. HE WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO NEGOTIATE THE CURVE OF THE ROAD, SO HE CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION BARRIER. THE POLICE REPORT STATED THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT AS "DEFECTIVE STEERING." THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND A REPORT WAS FILED WITH GMC CORPORATE. THEIR INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE FOUND NO DEFECT WITH THE STEERING. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR ME IS THAT MY INSURANCE AND I MUST PAY FOR ALL OF THE REPAIRS (IF THE INSURANCE COMPANY DOESN'T TOTAL THE VEHICLE). IT ALSO MEANS THAT, SINCE THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, THE INCIDENT OF THE STEERING LOCKING UP COULD REOCCUR, CAUSING SERIOUS INJURIES OR FATALITIES. IN DOING RESEARCH, IT APPEARS FROM THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS AND THE CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED AGAINST GMC THAT THE 2010 ACADIA HAS DEFECTIVE STEERING. MILEAGE OF VEHICLE IS APPROXIMATE.
I WAS CLEANING MY CAR AND SAW THE SEAT CUSHION LEATHER STICKING OUT. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE SEAT CUSHION LIFTS OUT OF THE BASE. THE CAR HAS ELECTRIC SEATS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED STALLING. IN ADDITION, THE EXTERIOR HEADLAMPS MELTED THE WIRES AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN FRACTURED AND THE WIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT PROVIDED.
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
WE BOUGHT OUR 2010 GMC ACADIA IN DECEMBER OF 2012. AT THE TIME WE NOTICED AN INTERMITTENT LOW WHINING NOISE AND BY THE TIME WE WENT FOR OUR FIRST OIL CHANGE AT A DEALERSHIP IT HAD BEGUN TO MAKE MORE NOISE WHEN TURNING TO THE LEFT SO I ASKED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO CHECK INTO IT. WHEN I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE THE SAME GENTLEMAN WHO CHECKED MY CAR IN TOLD ME THE NOISE WAS BECAUSE MY OIL WAS SO LOW. I KNEW THIS WASN'T TRUE. THE NOISE GREW SLIGHTLY LOUDER AND CONSTANT, AROUND NOVEMBER 2014 WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND ASKED THAT THEY CHECK OUT THE NOISE. THEIR DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT WE WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE SWAY BAR LINKS WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE MONTHS. FEBRUARY 14, 2015 WHILE BACKING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY THE NOISE WAS LOUDER THAN EVER BEFORE AND MY HUSBAND SAID IT FELT VERY UNSAFE WHEN TURNING. WE DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE AUTO REPAIR FACILITY WHO INFORMED US OF THE SWAY BAR LINKS, ASSUMING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. AS SOON AS THE MECHANIC BEGAN TAKING THE NECESSARY COMPONENTS OFF THE STEERING SYSTEM THEY TOLD US WAY NEEDED A NEW STEERING RACK. THE MAN SAID THAT ONCE THEY REPLACED THE RACK THEY WOULD KNOW WHETHER OR NOT THE STEERING PUMP WAS OKAY, IT TURNED OUT THAT IT WAS. NOW TODAY 3/14/15, WE JUST RETURNED FROM DROPPING OUR VEHICLE OFF AT THE SAME SHOP BECAUSE THE WHINING NOISE HAS RETURNED WITHIN THE LAST 3 DAYS AND IS BECOMING INCREASINGLY WORSE. *TR
GMC ACADIA RECALL ON POWER STEERING PUMP. DEALER STATED THAT THE GEAR WAS NOT WORKING RIGHT. RECALL COVERED FIXING THE PUMP, REPLACING 2 BOLTS, FLUID, GEAR COVERING BUT NOT THE GEAR THAT EVERYTHING IS SUPPOSE TO PROTECT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS UNLESS THE FACT IS THAT THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING IS NOT COVERED BUT THE CHEAP STUFF IS. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE GEAR FIXED. *TR

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE CODE RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

I HAVE A 2010 GMC ACADIA. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO I RECEIVED THE GM SPECIAL COVERAGE EXTENDED WARRANT LETTER # 14329. AT THAT TIME, I HAD ALREADY NOTICED EXTREME DIFFICULTY IN TURNING THE WHEEL AT LOW RATES OF SPEED AND BRUSHED IT OFF AS PROBABLY NEEDING POWER STEERING FLUID I ALSO NOTICED A "WHINING" NOISE ALONG WITH THIS ACTION. I BEGAN TO WORRY AS THE MATTER KEPT WORSENING AND ALREADY STILL HAD TRAUMA FROM A PRIOR ACCIDENT IN 2010 WHICH LEFT ME TO PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE IN 2011 WHICH I THOUGHT WOULD BE A MORE SAFE STABLE VEHICLE FOR ME. UPON A FEW WEEKS LATER, WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN MANEUVER, THE STEERING WHEEL COMPLETELY "LOCKED" UP! LUCKILY, NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC WAS IN SIGHT, OTHERWISE, I WOULD HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY AS I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY! I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALER AND EXPLAINED MY ISSUE AND NAMED THE LETTER I HAD RECEIVED A FEW MONTHS PRIOR. THUS, AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN ON THAT SPECIFIC DAY. THE DEALER CONTACTS ME TO INFORM ME THAT THE PUMP WAS COVERED IN THE WARRANT BUT NOT THE RACK WHICH THEY SAID WAS LEAKING ON BOTH SIDES (WHICH IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE PART). MY OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE OF $1200.00 AFTER LABOR AND THE ALIGNMENT!! ALL THE PARTS OF THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM SHOULD BE PAID FOR ALL EXPENSE BY GM!! THIS IS A TREMENDOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND PEOPLES LIVES ARE AT DANGER! NO ONE HAS $1200 TO JUST DROP ON AUTO REPAIR AND I HAD TO TAKE OUT A LOAN!! WHAT IS GM WAITING FOR HUNDREDS OF DEATHS?!! THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,800. THE VIN NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE.
POWER STEERING PROBLEM.GOING TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPOT AND THE POWER STEERING SEEMED TO GO. HAD A DIFFICULT TIME TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. DID THE SAME THING AT LATER DATES PULLING IN AND OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. AT OTHER TIMES, IT HAPPENED WHILE TRYING TO TURN ONTO A ROAD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE RPM WOULD NOT OPERATE PROPERLY AND THE VEHICLE STALLED MORE THAN ONCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WAS LOOSE AND THE CAM SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
THIS IS MY WIFE'S VEHICLE WHICH I RARELY DRIVE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN AT A SLOW SPEED IN CITY DRIVING, I NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING WENT AWAY AND I WAS BARELY ABLE TO FORCE THE STEERING WHEEL ENOUGH TO COMPLETE THE TURN. ONCE STRAIGHT AND THE VEHICLE MOVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING FINE. IN SUBSEQUENT SLOW MOVING TURNS BOTH TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT STEERING DIFFICULTIES WERE ENCOUNTERED INTERMITTENTLY. MY WIFE STATED THAT SHE HAD ENCOUNTERED THIS TYPE OF STEERING DIFFICULTIES FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND HAD ASK THE TECHNICIANS AT THE LOCAL GOODYEAR DEALER TO CHECK THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL AT ONE OF HER OIL CHANGES. THE TECHNICIANS INFORMED HER THAT THE LEVEL WAS FULL. I RECENTLY DROVE THE VEHICLE ON A TRIP MYSELF AND NOTICED A RATTLE NEAR THE FRONT LEFT TIRE AREA AND SOME POPPING NOISES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. I WILL BE TAKING THIS VEHICLE TO THE SHOP FOR A DIAGNOSIS OF WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO VIBRATE ACCOMPANIED BY A LOUD POPPING NOISE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO TURN LEFT BUT THE STEERING WHEEL TRAVELED IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO TWO VEHICLES. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE STRUT WAS FRACTURED AND SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED PREVIOUSLY ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HAND INJURIES WHICH DID NOT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE AND HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLED SMOKE. THE BULB OVERHEATED AND CAUSED THE SOCKET AND WIRES TO BURN AND THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING TO MELT. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL FOR A RELATED FAILURE IN 2013. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BULB OVERHEATED AND CAUSED THE SOCKET, THE WIRES, AND THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING UNIT TO BURN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,279.
STEERING LOSES POWER EVERYDAY, MOSTLY WHEN VEHICLE IS GOING SLOWER. IT IS GETTING HARDER & HARDER TO TURN. COMING OUT OF THE TURN IT WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN POP & LOOSEN UP AGAIN. I CAN'T BELIEVE WITH ALL THESE COMPLAINTS NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
MY FRONT DAYTIME LIGHT STARTING GOING OF AND ON AND THEN STOPPED-WORKING AND WHEN IT WAS CHECKED BY THE GMC DEALER THEY FOUND THAT THE LIGHT FRAME HAS BEEN MELTED AND IT WOULD NOT HOLD A LIGHT. THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT UNLESS I PAID $1,100 WHICH I WOULD NOT DO. CALLED GMC AND THREE TIMES AND EACH TIME THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK WHICH THEY DID NOT DO. I CALLED BACK AGAIN AND WITHOUT EVEN TALKING TO ME SAID I AGREED TO PAY PART OF THE COST WHICH I DID NOT DO. I AM LEFT WITH AN UNSAFE SUV. *TR
POWER STEERING FAILED .DURING LOW SPEED TURNS, THEN RECOVERED AND ACTED NORMALLY FOR AWHILE. SIMILAR PROBLEM OCCURRED A FEW DAYS LATER AND SINCE THEN HAS BEEN HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY. THIS WILL BE A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF IT HAPPENS WHEN ENTERING OR EXITING A HIGHWAY OR TURNING INTO A TWO WAY STREET. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER SHIFTING TO PARK, THE KEY WAS UNABLE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO REMAIN ON AND DRAINING THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE SHIFT GEAR WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO SHIFT AND AFTER SHIFTING TO THE DRIVE POSITION THE SHIFT INDICATOR DID NOT DISPLAY THE PROPER GEAR. AFTER MY 2010 ACADIA SAT IN A HOTEL PARKING LOT FOR 19 HOURS AFTER A DRIVE FROM SAN DIEGO TO KANSAS CITY, IT OVERHEATED THE MINUTE I STARTED IT. THE AIR STARTED BLOWING WARM AIR, IT STATED "POWERING DOWN ENGINE", & THE TEMP GAGE MAXED OUT. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE CAR. AT LESS THAN 36K ON A CAR THAT HAS BEEN DRIVEN MINIMALLY, THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. AND NOW.... SINCE IT IS "OVER 3 YEARS OLD", IT'S PROBABLY NOT COVERED. $40K VEHICLE WITH 30K MILES ON IT AND ALREADY OVERHEATING? WE HAD OUR VEHICLE FOR THE LAST 2.5 YEARS IN HAWAII, SO IT'S NOT A CLIMATE PROBLEM. :-/ *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2010 GMC ACADIA UP A SLIGHTLY CURING PASS AT 65MPH THE POWER STEERING SPONTANEOUSLY WENT OUT. NO LEAKING, NOISES OR WARNING SIGNS OF FAILURE PRIOR. STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT AND STIFF, UNABLE TO CHANGE LANES WITHOUT DIFFICULTY WHICH COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IN HEAVIER TRAFFIC. HAD PERFORMED FLAWLESSLY WITHOUT ANY SIGNS OF DIFFICULTY 8 MILES PRIOR WHILE TURNING ONTO THE HIGHWAY FROM A STOP. CAR IS OTHERWISE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND CURRENT ON ALL MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDED SERVICES. *TR

THE VEHICLE BECOMES NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN AND THE FAILURE OCCURS UNEXPECTEDLY CAUSING NEAR ACCIDENTS. HAS OCCURRED AT HIGHER SPEEDS AS WELL WHICH IS EVEN MORE DANGEROUS. GM SHOULD RECALL THIS ISSUES BEFORE ANY MAJOR ACCIDENTS. MECHANIC SAID THIS IS "A COMMON PROBLEM" WITH THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE.
