WHEN TRYING TO TURN CORNERS IT'S ALMOST AS IF THE POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT. PULLING INTO A CROWDED PARKING LOT IS SCARY BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW IF MY CAR IS GOING TO TURN ENOUGH TO FIT INTO THE PARKING PLACE. I HAVE COME CLOSE TO HITTING OTHER CARS WHEN MAKING TURNS ONTO SMALLER STREETS. THIS STARTED IN 2012 AND I TOOK MY CAR TO CLASSIC BUICK GMC, IN ARLINGTON TEXAS THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM SO NOTHING WAS DONE. NOW A YEAR LATER IT IS BAD ENOUGH THAT THEY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM AND WANTED TO CHARGE ME 1714.13 TO FIX IT. I CALLED GMC CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WERE ABLE TO GET THE DEALER DOWN TO 850.00 TO FIX IT. AFTER READING ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE I AM VERY CURIOUS AS TO WHY NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. I HAVE ANOTHER CALL INTO GMC. *TR
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BULB CONTINUES TO OVERHEAT, BLOW OUT AND MELT HOUSING UNIT AROUND BULB. GMC STATES IT IS MY RESPONSIBILTY TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE NOW MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY, EVEN WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS IN WARRANTY WHEN THIS STARTED. ESTIMATED COST $915. I HAVE HAD THE HEADLIGHT BULBS REPLACED AT LEAST 3 TIMES WITHIN 6-7 MONTHS. I HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR THE BULB AND "LABOR" WHICH COULD RUN AS HIGH AS $50 A HOUR. *TR
POWER STEERING HAS BEEN REPAIRED TWICE, 1ST TIME UNDER WARRANTY SECOND OUT OF POCKET COST THIS PAST JANUARY (80K MILES ON VEHICLE) BROUGHT IN VEHICLE RECENTLY AND NEEDED TO HAVE POWER STEERING FLUID CHANGED SINCE IT WAS "BURNT". CLEARLY THIS HAS TO BE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT
DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGERS FRONT HEADLIGHTS, THESE LIGHTS I HAVE REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES EVEN GETTING A TICKET FOR 1 INSTANCE THIS IS A SAFETY RELATED ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY GM
THE MAIN BATTERY CABLE RUNNING FROM THE BATTERY LOCATED BEHIND THE PASSAGER'S SEAT WAS RESTING ON A BOLT FROM THE FRAME. THE THREADS FROM THE BOLT CUT THROUGH THE BATTERY CABLE AND SHORTED OUT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CAUSING THE FLOOR MATTING TO CATCH FIRE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN, CAUSING A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. SINCE IT WAS THE MAIN BATTERY CABLE THE CONNECTS DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY WITH NO FUSE, THE SHORT CONTINUED TO SPARK. IN THE PARTICUAL VEHICLE THE BATTERY IS LOCATED INSIDE THE VEHICLE, BELOW THE PASSAGER SIDE REAR FLOOR. THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE RUNS FROM THERE TO INSIDE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT TO THE ALTERNATOR, WITH NO FUSE IN BETWEEN. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. I RAISED THE QUESTION WITH THEM ABOUT A RECALL AND GOT NO WHERE. I DID SOME SEARCHES ON GMC BLOG SITES AND THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED ON A NUMBER OF OTHER VEHICLES, ONE LEADING TO A WRECK. LUCKILY I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT TURNING WHEN IT HAPPENED TO ME. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON A FREEWAY AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, THE STORY COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. *TT
WE BOUGHT OUR 2010 ACADIA CERTIFIED USED WITH 60,000. WATER PUMP WENT OUT, NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM STOP WORKING AND I NOTICED A HESITATION IN SHIFTING FROM TIME TO TIME BUT NOT CONSISTENT. THIS ALL RIGHT AFTER PURCHASING. THE DEALERSHIP FIXED WATER PUMP AS IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR A RECALL NOTICE AND ASKED IF THEY COULD FIND WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE DVD/CD PLAYER, WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW RADIO. I ALSO TOLD THE MECHANIC I THOUGHT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION, THAT ISSUE WAS NOT ADDRESSED AS THOUGH I HADN'T MENTIONED IT. SO I WENT ONLINE TO SEE IF I COULD FIND A WAY TO FIX THE DVD/CD PLAYER MYSELF AND THAT'S WHEN I FOUND ALL THESE OTHER ACADIA OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUES...SO I THOUGHT IT BEST TO GET RID OF THIS TIME BOMB BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. WENT TO TRADE IT IN ON A USED VEHICLE, SALESMEN DROVE IT, BROUGHT IT BACK AND TOLD US THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE 3000. OFF FOR BAD TRANSMISSION. I CONTACTED GMC ALL THEY WOULD DO WAS GIVE US 2000. TOWARD A NEW OR LEASE VEHICLE. THIS IS A DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING, ITS NOT A QUALITY PRODUCT AS WE THOUGHT WE HAD PURCHASED. THIS IS THE WAY OF THE WORLD TODAY, NO ACCOUNTABILITY, NO ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITY. ITS YOUR PROBLEM GMC, FIX IT!!! I AM LOOKING TO GET A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT STARTED. *TR
MY 2010 ACADIA HAS PERIODIC LOSS OF POWER STEERING, MOSTLY AT LOW SPEEDS, WHEN BACKING UP, PARKING, TURNING, ETC. THIS HAPPENS SPORADICALLY, AND AT TIMES CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT MY CAR IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, AND THERE ARE NO RECALLS. *TR
THE PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS AT THE HOTTEST POINT OF THE DAY (SPRING, SUMMER) WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A FEW HOURS IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT AND YOU TRY TO USE THE KEYLESS ENTRY TO UNLOCK THE DOORS, IT DOESN'T WORK. YOU CAN START THE VEHICLE BUT NONE OF THE ELECTRICAL FEATURES WILL WORK (WINDOWS, SUNROOF, RADIO, ETC..) AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE. THE DISPLAY STATES THAT THE HOOD IS OPEN. YOU CAN POP THE HOOD AND OPEN AND CLOSE IT BUT THE PROBLEM WILL NOT FIX ITSELF. WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INTO 2 SEPARATE DEALERSHIPS IN 2 DIFFERENT STATES AND THE VEHICLE WON'T DO IT WHILE IT IS THERE. ONCE IT COOLS DOWN OUTSIDE OR THE SUN GOES DOWN, THE CAR WILL START AND GO INTO DRIVE. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE BODY CONTROL MODULE AND THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE BEEN STRANDED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND IT HAS BEEN A PAIN. JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS ISSUE-IT IS GETTING OLD!!! *TR
THE STEERING MAKES AN AWFUL NOISE WHEN TURNING. THIS IS USUALLY AT LOW SPEEDS. THIS SAME PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AT THE DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, NOW I AM PAST THE MILEAGE WARRANTY AND NOTHING WILL BE DONE. I HAVE CONTACTED GMC SEVERAL TIMES AND THERE WERE NO SUGGESTIONS. THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING SEEING THAT IT HAS BEEN LESS THAN A YEAR SINCE THE PART WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE EXITING THE HIGHWAY, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,200.
I HAD SOME WARRANTY WORK PERFORM ON MY 2010 GMC ACADIA. I RECEIVED MY CAR BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND NEEDED TO REINSTALL MY TWO FORWARD FACING CAR SEATS IN THE SECOND ROW SEATS FOR MY TWO CHILDREN. I HAD BUCKLED MY 2 YEAR OLD CHILD IN THE INSTALLED CAR SEAT BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT WHILE I WAS DOING OTHER WORK IN THE CAR. AT SOME POINT, I PUSHED THE DRIVER'S SEAT MEMORY BUTTON 1 WHICH HAD BEEN SET FOR MY DRIVING PREFERENCES. I DIDN'T NOTICE THAT THE SEAT MOVED BACKWARDS AND ALSO INTO A RECLINE AS A RESULT OF THE AUTOMATED MEMORY SEAT. I ONLY NOTICED WHEN MY CHILD BEGAN SCREAMING BECAUSE THE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK WAS PUSHING INTO HER LEGS AND CONTINUING TO MOVE INTO HER. SHE WAS THANKFULLY NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED AS A RESULT OF THIS, BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT SHE COULD HAVE BEEN. AFTER THE INCIDENT, I ESTIMATED THAT SHE HAD ABOUT 2 INCHES OF SPACE FOR HER LEGS BETWEEN THE BACK OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND HER CAR SEAT. THE MEMORY SEAT SETTINGS WERE NOT SET AS I EXPECTED WHEN I PUSHED THE BUTTON, BUT IT SEEMS TO ME THAT ANY SETTING SHOULD NEVER ALLOW IT TO AUTOMATICALLY PUSH INTO A CHILD'S LEGS TO THE POINT THAT SHE COULD BE INJURED. *TR
MY DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT, I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT IT WAS DUE TO BULB LIFE. WHEN I CHANGED THE BULB I FOUND THAT THE HARNESS SOCKET WHERE THE BULB PLUGS INTO WAS BURNT/MELTED. I PROCEEDED TO CHANGE THE BULB ANYWAY TO SEE THE RESULT. 5 MINUTES LATER THE LIGHT BULB BURNT OUT AGAIN. THIS LOOKS TO BE A SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD AND I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL COMPLETED FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION. THIS WAS FOR THE LOW BEAM LIGHT BULB. *TR
2010 ACADIA TRANSMISSION AND TRACTION CONTROL SAFETY PROBLEMS. WHILE DRIVING 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ALARM CAME ON IN ADDITION TO A FLASHING STABILITY CONTROL AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS. THE REAR PASSENGER WHEEL LOCKED UP, THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED INTO 3RD GEAR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO VEER INTO THE RIGHT LANE. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE BEEN HAVING POWER STEERING PUM PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL IN THIS CIRCUMSTANCE. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO OTHER VEHICLE IN THE RIGHT LANE AND MAANGED TO PUL THE VEHILE OFF THE ROAD. I HAD MY FAMILY IN THE VEHILE AT THE TIME WHICH MADE EVERYONE VERY SCARED FOR THEIR SAFETY. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED WHICH ERASED THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNINGS, BUT THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT REMAINED ON AND WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE. THE DEALER REPLACED SOME ECMS, BUT COULD NOT FIX THE POWER STEERING ISSUE. THREE WEEKS LATER, THE TRANSIMISSION STARTED SHIFTING HARD AND AFTER 2 VISITS TO THE DEALER IS NOT BEING IVESTIGATED FOR ANOTHER ECM FAILURE. THE ELECTRIC SYSTEMS AND POWER STEERING ISSUES MAKE THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE VEHICLE. *TT
MY 2010 GMC ACADIA WAS SITTING UNDER MY CARPORT DURING AN ELECTRICAL STORM. LIGHTENING STRUCK THE VEHICLE, BUT DID NOT STRIKE ANY OF THE OTHER 3 VEHICLES IN THE YARD. THIS WAS THE ONLY VEHICLE WITH ON-STAR. MY FAMILY COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED IF WE HAD BEEN IN THE CAR. THE ENTIRE ELCTRICAL SYSTEM WAS KNOCKED OUT. *TT
2010 GMC ACADIA. CONSUMER STATES VEHICLE WAS STRUCK BY LIGHTENING WHILE SITTING UNDER A CARPORT *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND THE ALARM KEPT SOUNDING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE NEEDED A BODY CONTROL MODULE, A PCM, AIR BAG SENSOR AND ECBM WAS NEEDED TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER HAD HER VEHICLE FOR 30 DAYS. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A LIGHT POST AND ANOTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. SHE THEN APPLIED THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE, STATING THAT SPEED HAD INCREASED 100 PERCENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND SENT AN INVESTIGATOR TO RETRIEVE THE BLACK BOX FROM THE VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTION, THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED AND THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BECAUSE SHE HAD DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 26,733. UPDATED 11/07/11 *BF THE CONTACT DISPUTES THE MANUFACTURES CLAIM THAT THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS DESIGNED AND CLAIMS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS NOT PUSHED. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 01/23/12
EXCESSIVE SOOT FROM EXHAUST SYSTEM, CAR IS WHITE, REAR IS COVERED WITH BITS OF SOOT EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN AUG 2010 TILL TO DAY AUG 2011. DEALER STATED NOTING IS WRONG BECAUSE THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT IS NOT ON. ON START UP AFTER OVERNIGHT PARKED-THERE IS A VISIBLE PUFF OF BLACK SMOKE. VEHICLE HAD 2800 MILES, THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT IT NEEDED TO BE DRIVEN, SO I DROVE 2000 MILES IN A WEEK, IT MADE NO SENSE TO ME AND IT DID NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE. A CHEVY DEALER TOLD ME HE HAS HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON TRAVERSE MODEL (SAME ENGINE) BUT THEY CANNOT FIGURE IT OUT. I'M A FORMER WHEEL VEHICLE MAINTENANCE OFFICER US ARMY, THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR AN ENGINE EXHAUST TO EMIT SOOT. IT IS A SIGN THAT THERE IS UNBURNED FUEL IN THE CYLINDERS. I AVERAGE 14.5 MPG. AND I BELIEVE THERE IS A FUEL LEAK OR FUEL BYPASS INTO THE CYLINDERS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED DUE TO THE PRESSURIZED FUEL SYSTEM OR JUST TOO MUCH FUEL THAT IS NOT EFFICIENTLY BURNED BEING ALLOWED TO ENTER THE ENGINE. *TR
EARLY PART OF JUNE, 2014, NOTICED AT VERY ISOLATED TIMES STEERING WAS HARD WHILE MAKING VERY LOW SPEED TURNS. THIS HAPPENED VERY INFREQUENTLY DURING VERY LOW SPEEDS SUCH AS PARKING OR TURNING INTO A SMALL SPACES. THE INTERVALS OF THIS PROBLEM BEGAN TO INCREASE IN JULY, BUT ONLY AT LOW SPEEDS. TOWARDS THE END OF JULY THE STEERING BECAME HARDER AT TURNING AND THE SPEED BECAME HIGHER AT WHICH THE EVENT OCCURRED. BEGINNING OF AUGUST IT BECAME A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN TURNING CORNERS THE POWER STEERING WOULD GO OUT AND CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BECAME DIFFICULT. I CALLED THE DEALER AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER FOUND THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND RACK OF THE STEERING TO HAVE SLOW LEAKS. THE SOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE THE PARTS. FORTUNATELY I HAD PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AS THE COST OF LABOR AND PARTS CAME TO OVER $1,300. BECAUSE I HAVE COMMERCIAL DRIVING EXPERIENCE, I WAS ABLE TO DEAL WITH THE LOSS OF STEERING IN WHAT COULD HAVE RESULTED LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IN MY OPINION, THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND THE WOULD NOT TURN TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. THE CONTACT APPLIED EXCESSIVE FORCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIANS REPLACED THE STEERING PUMP. THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE TIMES AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIANS REPLACED THE STEERING PUMP, PIPE AND GASKETS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS A THIRD TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
WHILE ACCELERATING ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP FOR CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY, HWY 75, IT BECAME VERY SLUGGISH, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN HAD NO PICK UP. I NEARLY GOT REAR ENDED BY A FAST TRUCK! SINCE APRIL OF 2011 I NOTICED THAT IT HAD NO PICK UP. THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO GO AWAY, WHEN I LEARNED TO NOT ACCELERATE TOO MUCH TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY, JUST GRADUALLY VS IN A HURRY. THEN TODAY, SEPT 2011, WHILE DRIVING AT APPRX 45 MPH ON A BUSY ROAD, THE CAR SEEMED TO PULL BACK, AND THE TRACTION LIGHT COMES ON, AND BEEPS AT ME. IT WAS A SUNNY, DRY DAY. I PULL OVER IN A PARKING LOT, TURN OFF THE ENGINE, TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF MY TRUNK, AND IT WOULD NOT OPEN - AND, NO, THE OVERRIDE BUTTON WAS NOT ON. WEIRD. I START THE CAR, AND THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY, AND I DRIVE SAFELY BACK TO MY DESTINATION. WHY DOES THE PROBLEM ALWAYS EXIST WHEN I AM BY MYSELF, AND WATCH, WHEN I TAKE THE TIME OFF TO BRING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, EVERYTHING WILL BE JUST FINE. I PRAY THAT I MAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSE SOME SORT OF DEFECT AND FIX IT BECAUSE IT STILL IS UNDER WARRANTY. I CANNOT BEAR THE WORSE CASE SCENARIO OF ANYTHING HAPPEN TO MY FAMILY. *TR
PASSAGER AIR BAG LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF AND GET SEVICE AIR BAG LIGHT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 70 MPH AND THE VEHICLE STARTED SPUTTERING AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF GASOLINE AND THEN IT STALLED. THERE WAS GASOLINE IN THE FUEL TANK AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND AFTER THREE DAYS, THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS AN ENGINE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 9,000. ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE, THE VALVE SPRING BROKE AND WENT THROUGH THE CYLINDER AND SEIZED. UPDATED 09/19/11
MY 2010 GMC ACADIA ROLLS BACKWARDS ON INCLINES EVEN THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION IS IN DRIVE. I HAVE DRIVEN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VEHICLES FOR YEARS AND IN MY EXPERIENCE THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO ROLL BACKWARDS IN DRIVE. FOR THE LAST FEW WEEKS, THE FUEL LIGHT IN MY WIFE'S 2010 ACADIA WILL NOT GO OFF. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD US THERE WAS TOO MUCH ALCOHOL IN THE FUEL, @ 12%, AND IF IT REACHED 15%, THEY WOULD NEED TO DROP THE FUEL TANK. THEY SAID TO RUN A COUPLE OF TANKS OF 93 OCTANE THROUGH THE VEHICLE AND IT SHOULD CORRECT ITSELF. AFTER 8 TANKS OF 93 OCTANE AT $3/GALLON, THE LIGHT IT STILL ON. GAS STATIONS DO NOT READILY ADVERTISE OR DISPLAY THE % OF ALCOHOL IN THEIR FUEL, MUCH LESS IF ALCOHOL IS EVEN IN THE FUEL. IT SEEMS A BIT DISINGENUOUS ON THE PART OF GM TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH THE ACADIA, KNOWING HOW ALCOHOL IS USED IN FUEL THESE DAYS. WE PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS VEHICLE, BUT CAN'T AFFORD TO RUN 93 OCTANE THROUGH IT THE REST OF THE TIME WE OWN IT. ON 9/23/10 MY WIFE EXITED OUR 2010 GMC ACADIA LEAVING THE KEYS PARTIALLY INSERTED INTO THE IGNITION. TODAY 9/24/10 SHE HEARD A NOISE IN THE GARAGE. WHEN SHE OPENED THE DOOR SHE FOUND THE VEHICLE TRYING TO START BY ITSELF. WE DO NOT HAVE A REMOTE STARTER INSTALLED. SHE REMOVED THE KEYS AND TOOK THEM BACK INTO THE HOUSE. I PURCHASED A NEW ACADIA IN 2010 , I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT END SINCE IT WAS NEW IT HAS GONE BACK TO THE DEALER MANY TIMES FOR FRONT END NOISES AND NOT HANDLING PROPERLY , I DID BRING IT TO THE DEALER COMPLAINING THAT THE CAR WAS NOT STEERING PROPERLY THEY DID DO SOMETHING TO REPAIR IT BUT NOW THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE STEERING RACK IS LEAKING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER 1800.00. IT IS NOTED IF YOU LOOK INTO IT THAT THIS FRONT END AND STEERING PROBLEM IS WIDE SPREAD , THEIR ARE CASES OF PEOPLE SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON REPAIRS BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY LOOSING POWER STEERING AND COULD HARDLY CONTROL THE CAR . I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IT TAKES FOR YOU TO ISSUE A RECALL ?? PEOPLE BEING IN ACCIDENTS OR INJURED ? 2008 GMC ACADIA SL RIGHT (PASSENGER SIDE) LOW BEAM CONNECTOR AND BULB BURN'T AND WIRES HAVE BEEN MELTED . *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2009 GMC ACADIA THE PASSENGER LOW BEAM WENT OUT. UPON OPENING THE HOOD WHEN I STOPPED I NOTICED THE DISTINCT ODOR OF BURNT PLASTIC. UPON FURTHER EVALUATION WHILE REMOVING THE BULB I OBSERVED THAT THE INSULATION FOR THE WIRING HARNESS HAD MELTED OFF AND SHORTED AT THE INTERFACE BETWEEN THE WIRE AND CONNECTOR. THE CONTACT FOR THE BULB ALSO EXHIBITED CHARRING AT THE CONNECTOR CONTACT. AN INTERNET SEARCH FOR A REPLACEMENT BULB ALERTED ME THAT THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN (09-08-42-004) ADDRESSING THE REPLACEMENT OF THIS HARNESS SHOULD THE HEADLIGHT FAIL. I FEEL THIS IS A OEM DESIGN FLAW AND SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THE HARNESS CAN SHORT OUT TO THE POINT TO WHERE THE INSULATION IS MELTED COMPLETELY OFF EXPOSING BARE WIRES. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 350. UPDATED 03/14/12*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WOULD DRIFT IN EITHER DIRECTION. WHEN HE TRIED TO CORRECT IT, THE VEHICLE WOULD DIVE IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE DEALER PREVIOUSLY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 9,400.
THE BATTERY ON MY GMC ACADIA DIED ON THE 15TH FEBRUARY AND THE DEALER COULD NOT IDENTIFY ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FOLLOWING MONDAY THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS TOLD THE SENSOR WAS NOT WORKING RIGHT AND THE PARTS WERE ORDERED. THE FRIDAY OF 2/26 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ABOVE 50MPH AND HALF THE GAS TANK WAS EMPTIED IN 25 MILES. DURING THAT FRIDAY THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING EVEN AFTER I PULLED THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. THAT SAME NIGHT THE BATTERY DIED AND COULD NOT BE JUMP STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED ON 3/1 AND THE AIR BAG SENSORS ALONG WITH FUSE BOX WAS REPLACED AS WATER WAS LEAKING INTO THE FUSE BOX. ALL OF THIS HAPPENED IN THE MILEAGE RANGE OF 6800 TO 7100 APPROXIMATELY. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE FUSE BOX AND THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING FINE SO FAR. *TR
WITHIN A MONTH AFTER BUYING OUR 2010 GMC ACADIA THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE WAS CONTINUALLY GOING FLAT. WE WERE CONSTANTLY REFILLING THE AIR ON A WEEKLY BASIS. TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED ST AND THE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. WE USED FIX A FLAT AND CONTINUED TO REFILL AIR AND IT HAS GONE LONGER PERIODS WITHOUT GOING FLAT ALTHOUGH TIRE IS CONSTANTLY LOW. TOOK THE CAR IN TO DEALERSHIP JULY 2012 TO HAVE OIL CHANGED AND SERVICED WITH TIRE ROTATION ETC. WHEN I WAS DRIVING HOME WITH 3 OF MY KIDS IN THE CAR, GOING 65-70 ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR STARTED SHAKING. IT WASN'T THE STEERING WHEEL BUT THE WHOLE CAR ITSELF. IT FELT LIKE ONE OF THE TIRES WAS GOING TO FALL OFF OR THE ENGINE WAS GOING TO FALL OUT OF THE CAR. I CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE AND THE PSI TO THAT TIRE WAS THE SAME AS WHAT IT WAS BEFORE I DROPPED IT OFF FOR SERVICE, SO THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T FILL THE TIRES BUT I KNEW I DIDN'T HAVE A FLAT TIRE EITHER. I TOOK THE CAR STRAIGHT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MY WAY TO WORK IN THE MORNING. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE TREAD WAS SEPARATING FROM THE TIRE AND I NEEDED A NEW TIRE. I THINK IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AS THIS HAD BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR AND HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES. JUST BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T FOND THE PROBLEM BEFORE DOESN'T MEAN THERE WASN'T A PROBLEM BEFORE. *TR
I BOUGHT MY GMC ACADIA IN DECEMBER OF 2009. A FEW DAYS IN I NOTICED A WHIRRING SOUND IN TURNING. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS NORMAL, A DESIGN FLAW WITH BRUSHES IN THE STEERING COLUMN. JUNE 20110 ENTIRE ELECTRICAL MOTHERBOARD FAILED, SIX MONTHS LATER THE WATER PUMP FAILED. BROUGHT THE CAR IN 3 TIMES FOR AIRBAG LIGHTS. I SENSOR WAS REPLACED THEN I WAS TOLD TO JUST "KEEP SOMETHING HEAVY IN THE SEAT". FOR EIGHT MONTHS ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT CHIMED WITH NOTHING WRONG. I REPORTED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS NOT COOLING ONLY TO BE TOLD IT WAS ALL GOOD, OF COURSE UNTIL THE WARRANTY WAS OUT THEN A REPAIR OF $600. NOW THAT SO CALLED DESIGN FLAW AND WHIRRING NOISE HAS TURNED INTO POWER STEERING FAILURE AN LEAK IN POWER STEERING RACK , !000 REPAIR NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL OF POWER STEERING PUMP. UNREAL. WHAT A BUNCH OF CROOKS. THE WORST PART IS THE GMC DEALERS PRETEND THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ANY ISSUES AND ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR NOTHING ALL. I AM SURE IT IS A PROTOCOL TO DELAY AND MAJOR DIAGNOSIS UNTIL A WARRANTY IS EXPIRED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO A DEALER, WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 43,000.
TL* THE CONTACT 2010 GMC ACADIA. WHILE PARKED THE KEY COULD NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE ENGINE FAILED TO START. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS ABLE TO START THE ENGINE, AND ENGAGE THE IGNITION KEY RELEASE CONTROL BUTTON WHICH RELEASED THE IGNITION KEY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THREE SEPERATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE IGNITION KEY CONTINUOUSLY FAILS TO RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 800. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
2010 ACADIA FRONT WHEEL DRIVE , WHEN IN DRIVE OR IN PARK ON INCLINE THE CAR WILL ROLL BACKWARD OR FORWARD DEPENDING ON WHICH WAY THE INCLINE IS. IT DOES NOT HOLD WHEN YOU MOVE YOUR FOOT FROM THE BRAKE TO THE ACCELERATOR WHILE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR WHEN YOU ARE PARKING. I HAVE HAD THE CAR BUMP A PASSENGER WHEN THEY WALKED AROUND THE FRONT OF MY CAR TO GET IN AND I HAD PLACED THE CAR IN PARK AND TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE.I HAVE OWNED MANY CARS AND VANS AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM AND IT OCCURS OFTEN AND THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS IGNORING THE PROBLEM. IF AN ELDERLY PERSON OR CHILD SHOULD HAPPEN TO BE CLOSE TO THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS HARM. *TR
