READING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS THAT COMPARE TO MINE THE FUEL GAUGE, OIL GAUGES, AIR CONDITIONER ARE ALL MALFUNCTIONING IN MY CAR AND I'M VERY UPSET BECAUSE ALL OF THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I PURCHASED MY CAR BRAND NEW IN 2005 AND I WILL NEVER BUY A GMC CAR AGAIN FOR THIS REASON IT'S ONE THING TO RECALL REPAIR PARTS THAT WERE BROKEN THAT TO REPAIR MALFUNCTION PARTS. VERY DISAPPOINTED. IN SHORT MY GAUGES DON'T WORK, MY AIR CONDITIONER ONLY WORKS ON ONE SIDE AND NOW MY HEADLIGHTS LOW BEAN DON'T WORK. GMC NEEDS TO RECALL AND REPAIR.

FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR PANEL CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY.
I WAS DRIVING AT 30 MPH DOWN THE ROAD AND THE SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT ME HAVING AN ACCIDENT OR HITTING ANYTHING THE SEAT BELT CAME LOOSE AND HIT MY DAUGHTER BREAKING HER GLASSES. THERE WAS NO WARNING AT ALL JUST A POP AND ALL CAME OUT. MY HEADLINER IS TORN.
SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF RANDOMLY. WHILE DRIVING THE SPEEDOMETER READS 0 OIL PRESSURE GUAGE READS NO PRESSURE, ALL GUAGES READ 0, THEN SPEEDOMETER READS RANDOM SPEEDS.
TAKATA RECALL, EARLY MORNING, MY POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING, SO I FILLED IT AND IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN, AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY ROAD TURNING ONTO MY OWN STREET, THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES FAILED RESULTING IN ME CRASHING INTO A POLE, AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEATBELT DID NOT LOCK, SO I FLEW INTO THE STEERING WHEEL, BREAKING MY HAND. THE DAMAGE WAS SO SEVERE IT WAS CONSIDERED TOTALED.

PROBLEM WITH BOTH HEADLIGHT LOW BEAM MALFUNCTION; GOING ON AND OFF. PROBLEM STARTED ON 1/10/16 AND CONTINUES UNTIL TODAY DESPITE REPLACING BOTH HEADLIGHT LOW BEAM FUSES AND RELAY.
THE REAR WINDOW TO OUR 2005 GMC ENVOY XL SHATTERED WHEN WE ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE REAR HATCH. THE WINDOW WAS FROZEN FROM THE COLD WEATHER AND WHEN IT FLEXED, IT SHATTERED EVERYWHERE.
I HAVE NOW EXPERIENCED MY 2005 GMC ENVOY STALLING WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY. ALL OF A SUDDEN, IT WILL JUST STOP GOING AND THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH FLASH ON. LUCKILY, WHEN I TURN THE KEY, IT STARTS RIGHT BACK UP. GOING TO CALL MECHANIC AND SEE IF HE CAN FIGURE IT OUT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE BOLT WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S SENSORY SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 142,000.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AFTER DARK AND MY LOW BEAMS COMPLETELY WENT OUT. I COULD ONLY GET MY HIGH BEAMS TO WORK. CURRENTLY ONLY ONE LOW BEAM IS WORKING AND THE OTHER WILL NOT WORK EVEN AFTER CHANGING THE BULB OR THE FUSE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN ESPECIALLY HAVING A YOUNG CHILD. IT WAS VERY SCARY GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT NIGHT AND HAVE YOUR LIGHTS COMPLETELY JUST GO OUT. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THERE ARE ISSUES WITH 06-07 ENVOYS BUT I WANTED GM TO BE MADE AWARE THAT 2005 MODELS HAVE BEEN AFFECTED AS WELL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO REPLACED THE HEADLIGHT AND FUSE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. MY PASSENGER WINDOW WON'T WORK!
VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY STALLS/STOPS.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2005 GMC ENVOY MY SPEEDOMETER WILL STOP WORKING AND REGISTER AS 0 MPH EVEN WHEN I AM MOVING. IT ALSO HAS SHOWN ME TRAVELLING AT A MUCH HIGHER SPEED AT TIMES. THERE ARE MANY ISSUES WITH THIS THAT I'VE FOUND WHILE SEARCHING THE WEB. IT IS UNNERVING AND DANGEROUS TO NOT KNOW THE SPEED YOU ARE TRAVELING. I HAVE STARTED TO USE A GPS SYSTEM WHEN I DRIVE TO SHOW MY SPEED.

THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE WINDOW AND NOTICED THAT THE POWER SWITCH FROM THE WINDOW WAS HOT. THE CONTACT DISCONNECTED THE POWER SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,300.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 GMC ENVOY. WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, WATER FROM THE RAIN ENTERED THE DOOR MODULE RESULTING IN A SHORT IN THE CIRCUIT BOARD. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V406000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VISIBILITY). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REFUSED TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT NEEDED A NOTICE THAT WAS ADDRESSED FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,400.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 GMC ENVOY XL 370. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AND ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000. I WAS DRIVING ON A CURVY 2 LANE ROAD IN THE COUNTRY AND THE SUN WAS JUST SETTING AND I COULDN'T GET ANY LIGHTS ON MY CAR. MY LIGHTS ARE AUTOMATIC AND I JUST ASSUMED THAT I HAD BUMPED A BUTTON AND ACCIDENTALLY TURNED THEM OFF, SO I STARTED TURNING THE SWITCH TO TURN THEM ON AND IT WASN'T WORKING. I ALMOST DROVE OFF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES TRYING TO GET SOME LIGHT ON. I THEN HIT A SECTION WHERE TREE LINED CURVED SECTION THAT WAS PRETTY DARK. THERE HAD BEEN NO SHOULDER OR ANYWHERE TO PULL OVER THERE OR FOR SEVERAL MILES. I COULD GET BIGHTS LIGHTS, BUT NO DIM. I ENDED UP DRIVING WITH MY FOG LIGHTS, UNKNOWINGLY AT THE TIME. WE HAD JUST REPLACE THE BULBS 5 MONTHS BEFORE BUT WE TRIED NEW BULBS AND FUSES TO SEE IF THIS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY, IT DIDN'T. I HAVE NOTICED A RECALL ON LIGHTS FOR THE ENVOY YEARS 06-07 FOR WHAT SEEMS LIKE THE SAME REASON AND MINE IS AN 05. *TR
WHEN BACKING THE VEHICLE TO LEAVE A LOCAL RESTAURANT, DRIVER STRUCK VEHICLE BEHIND HER. THIS HAPPENED SO QUICKLY THAT IT WAS UNKNOWN TO THE DRIVER HOW THE VEHICLE TRAVELED SO QUICKLY THAT DRIVER HAD NOT EVEN HAD A CHANCE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO AVOID STRIKING THE OTHER VEHICLE. DRIVER PLACED VEHICLE IN DRIVE TO PULL OVER TO ASSESS THE DAMAGE. WHEN PLACED INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD AND CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE DESPITE THE BRAKES BEING APPLIED. THE VEHICLE STRUCK A BRICK RESTAURANT. DAMAGE WAS ALSO DONE TO THE INTERIOR BATHROOM OF THE FACILITY AND THE BUSINESS HAD TO CLOSE TO ASSURE SAFETY OF IT'S STAFF/CUSTOMERS. WITNESS STATES THE VEHICLE WAS OBVIOUSLY LURCHING AND APPEARED TO HAVE A MECHANICAL PROBLEM. THE DRIVER'S FOOT BOUNCED OFF OF THE BRAKE PEDAL ON IMPACT LODGING IT UNDERNEATH THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT WAS ALSO NOTED THAT NEITHER FRONT AIRBAGS DID DEPLOY. DRIVER DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION HOWEVER DRIVER'S FOOT WAS BADLY BRUISED.
WHEN STOPPED IN TRAFFIC OR AT A STOP LIGHT, MY VEHICLE WILL IDLE ROUGHLY AND SOMETIME STALL. IT DOES THIS IN DRIVE, NEUTRAL AND PARK. I'VE HAD IT CHECKED AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THERE ARE NO CODES SHOWING A PROBLEM.
I HAVE GOODYEAR FORTERA TIRES (P245-65R 17) ON MY VEHICLE, CAR IS PULLING TO THE LEFT & SHAKES, MY MECHANIC CHECKED OUT THE VEHICLE AND SAID YOUR TIRE IS COMING APART. I HEARD ON THE NEWS THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THESE GOODYEAR TIRES, BUT ON THE NEWS...I THOUGHT I UNDERSTOOD THEM TO SAY IT WAS THE 18" FORTERA? ACCELERATING WHILE ENTERING A FREEWAY, TOOK FOOT OFF THE GAS AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. APPLIED BRAKE BUT VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. PUT VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL TO TRY AND SLOW DOWN AND AGAIN APPLIED BRAKE. VEHICLE BEGAN TO SPIN TO THE RIGHT AND WE HIT THE GUARD RAIL, HITTING THE PASSENGER REAR BUMPER AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT BUMPER. SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. CAR SPUN INTO THE MIDDLE TRAVEL LANE AND BEGAN TO SPIN AROUND. CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN AND WAS ABLE TO TURN CAR OFF. FORTUNATELY NO OTHER CARS WERE INVOLVED. AN OFF DUTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTY STOPPED AND SAID HE NOTICED SMOKE AND THOUGHT THE CAR WAS ON FIRE BUT NO FIRE OCCURRED. WHEN STATE POLICE ARRIVED THEY ASKED US TO MOVE THE CAR TO THE BREAK DOWN LANE. WAS ABLE TO PUT CAR IN REVERSE AND BACKED CAR TO BREAKDOWN LANE. TRIED TO PUT CAR IN DRIVE BUT CAR WOULDN'T GO FORWARD. *TR
I FIRST NOTICED THIS PROBLEM WHEN I WAS GETTING ONTO A HIGHWAY AND WHEN I LOOKED AT MY SPEEDOMETER IT REGISTERED 120MPH. I WAS JUST MERGING INTO THE LANE WITH TRAFFIC. THEN WHEN I EXITED AND WILE WAITING FOR A STOPLIGHT TO CHANGE TO GREEN, MY CAR REGISTERED 60 WHILE SITTING STILL. THIS HAD HAPPENED THE WINTER BEFORE AND THEN STOPPED. THIS TIME I HAD TO FIX IT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION, THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED 35 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OIL AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGES WERE NOT FUNCTIONING. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

LIGHTS GO OFF AND WON'T COME BACK ON FOR 2 HOURS. YOU CAN SMELL SOMETHING BURNING BUT CANNOT FIND WHERE IT IS COMING FROM. I HAVE REPLACED ALL BULBS 3 TIMES. AND NOTHING CHANGES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS FAULTY AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
MY WINDOW CONTROLS ON DRIVER SIDE WILL NOT ROLL DOWN ANY WINDOW; HOWEVER, YOU CAN ROLL DOWN ANY WINDOW FROM SPECIFIC DOOR CONTROL. WHEN I PUT DOWN THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW, WHILE PARKED, THE INDOOR LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING, THERE WERE CLICKING NOISES AND THE PASSENGER WINDOW WENT UP ALL BY ITSELF. TOTALLY FREAKED ME OUT! IT ONLY STOPPED WHEN I OPENED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. A COUPLE HOURS LATER I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO ANOTHER DESTINATION. WHEN I TOOK THE KEYOF OUT, THE LIGHTS FLASHED AND AGAIN THE CLICKING NOISES. IT STOPPED WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR. OF COURSE, RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS AND I AM UNABLE TO CONTACT DEALER. I DID LEAVE A MESSAGE AND HOPEFULLY GET FIXED SOON. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 25 MILES PER HOUR @ NIGHT WHEN ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON AND ALL THE GAUGES READ ZERO EXCEPT THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACH, TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTOR WASN'T INDICATING WHAT GEAR I WAS IN & RADIO ALSO KILLED. HEADLIGHTS, WIPERS & DIRECTIONS WERE STILL FUNCTIONAL. I ONLY HAD A MILE TO DRIVE TO GET HOME. PARKED VEHICLE IN GARAGE AND SHUT OFF....ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT POWER LOCKS HAD FAILED AND I WAS LOCKED IN CAR, POWER WINDOWS WERE ALSO OUT! REMOVED KEY FROM IGNITION AND FORTUNATELY THE REMOTE KEY FOB UNLOCKED THE DOOR. HAD THIS BEEN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, I WOULD HAVE NO WAY TO EXIT THE CAR NOR WOULD ANY PASSENGERS. ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM? I CONTACTED DEALER TO APPRIZE THEM OF THIS NEW PROBLEM AND WAS ADVISED THAT IF IT'S INTERMITTENT THEY WOULD HAVE PROBLEMS FIXING IT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RELAY SWITCH FOR THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN I WENT OUT TO START MY CAR IT WOULDN'T START SO I TOOK THE KEY AND MY DAD MY BE I NEED A JUMP HE SAID NO IF THAT WAS THE CASE THE CAR WOULDN'T EVEN TURN OVER. I WENT BACK OUT TO TRY IT AGAIN BUT STILL NOTHING SO I BEGAN TO TURN THE KEY BACK AND FOURTH AND EVENTUALLY IT STARED. MY KEYLESS FOB WOULD NOT UNLOCK DOOR ON DRIVER SIDE, BUT UNLOCKS ALL OTHER DOORS. MY WINDOW CONTROL ON DRIVER SIDE WILL NOT ROLL DOWN ANY WINDOW; HOWEVER, YOU CAN ROLL DOWN ANY WINDOW FROM SPECIFIC DOOR CONTROL. I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS GOING ON BUT DEFINITELY WILL HAVE TO GET THIS FIXED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY ENVOY REAR DOOR OPENED UP ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE DRIVING. I PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO CLOSE IT. IT WOULDN'T CLOSE, I HAD TO USE A BUNGY CORD TO KEEP IT CLOSED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 GMC ENVOY. AFTER TURNING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE IS READING ABOVE 80. HAD OIL CHANGED IMMEDIATELY. WAS TOLD THAT THERE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE MIS READING OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. CONTACTED GM AND WAS TOLD THAT AT THIS TIME THEY ARE NOT COVERING THE REPAIRS AND THAT IT IS THE CONSUMERS RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE THE ENGINE SENSOR SYSTEM. GM HAS SOME OF THE RUDEST AND NASTIEST CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES. I HAD TO CALL 3 TIMES IN ONE DAY. THEY EVEN HUNG UP ON ME . I SPOKE WITH [XXX], [XXX] AND [XXX]. I ASKED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AND OTHER POTENTIAL PROBLEMS, SUCH AS ENGINE FIRE OR ENTIRE SYSTEM SHUTTING DOWN AND NOT RESPONDING. THE SPEEDOMETER HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM, WITH IT NOT WORKING PROPERLY. IT WILL GO OUT OF WACK WHILE DRIVING, AND YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOUR SPEED IS WHEN IT DROPS PAST THE 120 MPH RANGE, THEN WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED, IT MAY READ 60 OR 70 MPH RANGE. PEOPLE ARE MAKING COMPLAINTS ALL OVER ABOUT THIS AS WELL AS THE GAS GAUGE DOING THE SAME THING. GMC DEALER STATES THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THESE PROBLEMS. THESE ARE SAFETY RELATED PROBLEMS, AND NEED TO BE RECALLED. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON MY VEHICLE (STILL IN FORCE), WITH A $100 DEDUCTIBLE, BUT WHY SHOULD THE WARRANTY COMPANY PAY FOR THIS, IF IT IS A PROBLEM WITH GM (MANY MAKES AND MODELS, NOT JUST MINE). I ALSO KNOW FOR FACT, WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, AND THAT IS THESE GAUGES HAVE "STEPPER MOTORS", THAT CONTROL THE "NEEDLE" THAT SHOWS SPEED, FUEL, RPM, ECT, AND THE STEPPER MOTORS ARE THE DEFECTIVE PART. WHEN THE STEPPER MOTORS ARE REPLACED, THEY HAVE A NEW PART NUMBER, AS THE DEFECTIVE ONES HAVE THE OLD PART NUMBER. ALL GM DEALERS ARE AWARE OF THIS, YET REFUSE TO REPLACE AT THERE COST. IF THE OEM EQUIPMENT WAS FINE, THEN WHY ARE THE REPLACEMENTS DIFFERENT AND WITH A NEW PART NUMBER. MY GMC DEALER SHIP, WON'T EVEN REPLACE THE STEPPER MOTORS, AND WANT TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS AGAIN IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND A MONEY ISSUE, AS I KNOW FIRST HAND AFTER RECEIVING A $165 SPEEDING TICKET, NOT KNOWING HOW FAST I WAS GOING WITH NO TRAFFIC AROUND. THE GAS GAUGE MAY READ HALF A TANK, AND THEN YOU STALL OUT ON THE FREEWAY, AND GET REAR ENDED, WHICH AT THOSE SPEEDS, HOPE YOU OR THE PERSON THAT REAR ENDS YOU SURVIVE! NOT TO MENTION AN INSURANCE CLAIM (AUTO AND/OR BI CLAIM), AND/OR A POSSIBLE DEATH. BY THE WAY, I AM AN AUTO INSURANCE ADJUSTER BY TRADE, AND HAVE BEEN FOR 34 YEARS. DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW MODULE BECAME INOPERABLE. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY A LOT OF SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM THE PANEL CAUSING US TO PULL OVER, OPEN THE DOOR AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF. IT NEVER STARTED FIRE BUT HEAVY SMOKE CAME OUT FOR ABOUT 10 MINS AND LEFT A STRONG ELECTRICAL SMOKE ODOR FOR HOURS. WINDOW PANEL IS NOW COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. *TR
WHEN BACKING A SMALL TRAILER INTO GARAGE, DRIVER SAW FLAMES COMING FROM HOOD, DRIVER EXISTED VEHICLE WHICH SOON WAS ENGULFED. ENTIRE ENGINE AND COMPONENTS WERE TOTALED DUE TO FIRE LOSS. CAR A COMPLETE LOSS.
FUEL SENSORS AFFECTING PROPER READ OUT ON FUEL GAUGE. WINDOW AN DOOR LOCK SWITCHES ON DRIVER SIDE DOOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO. CLIPS ON HEADLIGHT AN GRILL ASSEMBLY CONSTANTLY COMING LOOSE.I HAVE CONTACTED GM. ABOUT WRONG FUEL READINGS THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEM IS FUEL SENSORS IN THE TANK BUT WILL NOT PAY FOR REPAIRS DUE TO CLOSED RECALL. THIS PROBLEM HAS RESULTED IN RUNNING OUT OF FUEL MULTIPLE TIMES. THE FUEL GAUGE READS FAULTY, WILL FILL UP THE TANK AND IT WILL SHOW AS EMPTY, THEN IT WILL SHOW 1/4 FULL AND NEEDLE WILL FLUCTUATE INTERMITTENTLY BETWEEN 1/4 TANK AND EMPTY. HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. *TR
ON JULY 28, 2014 I WAS GOING DOWN A HILL AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. FORTUNATELY I WAS ONLY GOING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH AND WAS ABLE TO COAST ACROSS THE MAIN STREET AND WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING SPOT. I TRIED RESTARTING MY ENVOY WITH NO LUCK SO I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO THE LOCAL GMC DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH HAD GONE BAD. I HATE TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I WAS GOING FASTER OR GOING DOWN A STEEP MOUNTAIN BECAUSE WHERE I LIVE I AM SURROUNDED BY MOUNTAINS. I AM NOT SURE IF ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM WITH A SIMILAR VEHICLE.
