i was driving down hwy then all of a sudden i see n my rear view mirror that im dragging my passenger side quarter panel .. so i pulled off then took the rest of quarter panel off .. start driving again then i keep hearing the same noise .. i pulled off again & noticed that the tread on my tire had completely peeled off the tire itself.. tire still is hiolding air … i cant fathom the idea how it did this.. the body of my car rear passenger side is completely demolished..
I HAVE GOODYEAR FORTERA TIRES (P245-65R 17) ON MY VEHICLE, CAR IS PULLING TO THE LEFT & SHAKES, MY MECHANIC CHECKED OUT THE VEHICLE AND SAID YOUR TIRE IS COMING APART. I HEARD ON THE NEWS THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THESE GOODYEAR TIRES, BUT ON THE NEWS...I THOUGHT I UNDERSTOOD THEM TO SAY IT WAS THE 18" FORTERA? I OWN A 2005 ENVOY SLE. I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THAT WAS A RESULT OF A TIRE BLOWOUT. I WAS CHANGING LANES ON A CITY STREET. I MOVED FROM THE RIGHT LANE TO THE LEFT LANE. THE VEHICLE DID NOT WANT TO ADJUST TO MOVING OVER. I THAN ACCELERATED THE VEHICLE AND IT BEGAN TO FISH TAIL. I TRIED TO CORRECT THE VEHICLE FROM SWERVING AND I HIT THE GUARD RAIL. WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE THE REAR TIRE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS FLAT. I DID NOT HIT THE GUARD RAIL WITH THE REAR OF THE CAR ONLY THE FRONT. I BELIEVE THE BLOWOUT WAS THE REASON THE CAR WAS OUT OF CONTROL. I AM SAVING THE TIRE TO HAVE SOMEONE INSPECT IT JUST TO SEE IF MY CLAIMS COULD BE RIGHT.
