TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS SEATED IN THE VEHICLE, THE SECURITY SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND HE WAS UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. ALSO, THE WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCK SWITCHES BECAME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON, AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO WORK AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V599000 (VISIBILITY); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE STATED IN THE RECALL SUMMARY RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY MOSTLY IN INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
DIFFICULTY STEERING WHEN MAKING A LEFT OR FIGHT TIGHT TURN.
INVESTIGATION # DP10001: THE PETITIONER ALLEGES THAT THE FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE AND COULD RESULT IN A SUBJECT VEHICLE RUNNING OUT OF FUEL, STALL, AND BEING REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. ODI WILL EVALUATE THE PETITION FOR A GRANT OR DENY DECISION. GM WILL FIX TILL 2016 MY 2006 ENVOY HAS ONLY 75,000 MILES ON IT
THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOT WORKING WHATSOEVER. IT IS ALWAYS ON EMPTY AND I CANNOT PUT ANY GAS IN THE VEHICLE
HI ! AS MANY OTHER GMC ENVOY COSTUMER STOCK AT THE EARLIER 50-100 THOUSAND MILLES WITH ENGINE PROBLEM CAUSED BY MISFIRE CYLINDER . I DO A HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY SUV ENGINE THE CLASSIC MISFIRE #6 CYLINDER THAT IT COST A $2000 OR PLUS TO GET REPAIR , SHORT WORLDS LOOSING THE ENGINE . IF YOU GUYS CHECK ABOUT THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY BIG AND HORRIBLE THOUSAND PEOPLE A CROSS THE COUNTRY DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE .I DID NOTICED THIS ISSUE JUST DRIVING , I GOT TO STOP SIGN AND THE ENGINE STARTS SHAKING AND THE CHECK ENGINE COME ON , AFTER I TOOK TO A MECHANIC SHOP FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND PUT ABOUT $200 DOLLARS ON SPARK PLUGS AND COIL AND NOTING CHANGED I WAS TELL BY THE MECHANIC THAT IT WAS A LOWER COMPRESSION ON THE 6 CYLINDER SO BAD VALVE .
GAS LIGHT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY EVEN AFTER FILLING CAR UP. DAUGHTER WAS PUT IN DANGER BECAUSE WHEN FIRST STARTED COULDNT TELL HOW MUCH FUEL WAS IN TANK AND RAN OUT OF GAS WHILE DRIVING FROM WORK ON BUSY CITY STREET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MASTER CONTROL MODULE ON THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DID NOT WORK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE WAS REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL IN 2014. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ORIGINAL MODULE THAT WAS REPLACED PER THE RECALL NEVER FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED PER A RECALL IN 2014. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 183,000.
THE VEHICLE WILL ABRUPTLY GO FROM 70 MPH TO 30'S (SEMI-TRAILER CLOSING IN FAST) AND I CAN'T DO A THING ABOUT IT!! SERVICE STABILITRACK HAS BEEN A THORN WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AND PERSISTS TO BE A PROBLEM NOW THAT IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY! FROM EARLY ON, <10,000 MILES AND OVER 10 TIMES SINCE, THIS VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS AND THE PROBLEM, THOUGH INTERMITTENT, STILL EXISTS AND IS A HUGE DANGER TO ME AND MY KIDS BUT I CAN'T JUST GO BUY ANOTHER CAR OR TRADE THIS IN LIKE SOME PEOPLE (INCLUDING THE CAR DEALERSHIP MANAGERS) PORTRAY IS THE BEST OPTION WHEN I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET GM TO FIX THE CAR OR REPLACE IT WHEN THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHY THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. BUT THAT HASN'T BEEN THE ONLY PROBLEM: GEAR BAND BROKE TWICE ON THE TRANSMISSION, HAD TO HAVE TRANSMISSION REBUILT BECAUSE OF FAULTY RADIATOR, AND OTHER ISSUES HOWEVER NONE OF THE PROBLEMS REMOTELY COMPARE TO HAVING TAKEN IT IN FOR SERVICE BECAUSE OF THE REPEATED UNEXPLAINED DE-ACCELERATION AND LOSS OF ABILITY TO MAKE THE CAR DO ANYTHING EXCEPT PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND GIVE IT TEN MINUTES TO STOP HAVING A "TANTRUM" OF SORTS WHILE TRAFFIC WHIZZES BY AND THANKFULLY DIDN'T HIT US (YET). EXTERIOR / AESTHETICS, I LOVE THIS VEHICLE BUT POOR FUNCTION AND EVEN WORSE SERVICE OF PROBLEMS. I'VE REPORTED IT TO CORPORATE BUT THEY DON'T CARE AND DESPITE IT HAVING HAD BEEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES PRIOR TO END OF WARRANTY, NOW THEY JUST WANT ME TO START PAYING THEM FOR ALL THESE FIXES THAT HAVEN'T FIXED ANYTHING. ONCE I STARTED PAYING FOR FIXES AND THEN STARTED COMPLAINING THAT THEY AREN'T COVERING WHAT THEY'VE NEVER FIXED; THE MANAGER HAD THE NERVE TO SAY HE'D PAY FOR IT OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET IF HE KNEW IT WOULD FIX IT ... HELLO... WHY SHOULD THE CONSUMER PAY FOR IT WHEN THE PROBLEM IS NEVER REALLY FIXED.
TAKATA RECALL LOSS OF LOW BEAMS. HEADLIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF. LOSS OF LOW BEAMS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. HEADLIGHTS STAYED ON WHILE PARKED WITH THE ENGINE SHUT OFF
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS AND DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS HAVE BEGAN FAILING INTERMITTENTLY. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. LOW BEAMS FAILED ON AN UNLIGHTED INTERURBAN HIGHWAY AT NIGHT. SCARY! THEY STAYED OFF FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, AND THEN RETURNED TO OPERATION. DURING THIS TIME I WAS DRIVING, TRYING TO VACATE THE HIGHWAY, USING HIGH BEAMS AND FOG LAMPS. DTL FAILURE NOTICED WHEN ENTERING GARAGE. HEADLIGHT DELAY ALSO FAILS AT THESE TIMES. LOSING LIGHTS AT 45 MPH ON A DARKENED ROAD IS VERY UNSAFE. DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS PROBLEM MAY BE A LIGHT RELAY THAT IS KNOWN TO HAVE ISSUES.
HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY. WHILE NAVIGATING AND IN MOTION, LOW-BEAM HEADLAMPS FAIL TO ILLUMINATE. THIS ISSUE SELF-CORRECTS WITHOUT ANY INTERVENTION. THE PERIOD FOR SELF-CORRECTION SEEMS TO BE RANDOM. HIGH-BEAMS HEADLAMPS, MARKER LAMPS, TURN SIGNSALS OR FOG LAMPS ARE NOT AFFECTED. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS REGARDLESS OF HIGHWAY OR STREET NAVIGATION.
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN I-75 AT 10:30PM MY HEADLIGHTS JUST RANDOMLY WENT OFF! I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH AND I WAS IN AN AREA THAT HAD NO LIGHTS ALONGSIDE THE ROAD. I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES TO ATTEMPT TO MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER I SLOWED ENOUGH TO MOVE OVER, MY HEADLIGHTS WENT BACK ON. I WAS SO SHOOK UP, I'M NOT SURE IF MY REAR LIGHTS WENT OFF AS WELL. THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT HAPPENED AGAIN THIS PAST WEEKEND AND I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND ACTUALLY SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND RE-START MY CAR TWICE BEFORE MY LIGHTS WENT BACK ON.TODAY, ON MY WAY TO WORK, IN THE DARK, JUST BEFORE I WAS PULLING INTO OUR PARKING LOT, THEY WENT OFF AGAIN. I ALSO HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I PRESS ON THE AUTOMATIC WINDOW BUTTONS, MY LIGHTS DIM AND THEN BRIGHTEN. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THE DASH LIGHT FOR THE GAS CAP TURNS ON AND OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. IN ADDITION, MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, DOES NOT GO OFF AND YET, IT NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL OF THE DANGEROUS AIRBAGS GOING OFF RANDOMLY AND CAUSING ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES. ALL OF THE ABOVE ISSUES HAVE OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.I'M NOT SURE IF THESE ARE RELATED OR NOT. ALL OF THE ISSUES ARE VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES AND NEED TO BE ADDRESSED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE IT WAS A LONG DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE TRACTION CONTROL FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS RELATING TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY XL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW SWITCH FAILED TO OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V404000 (VISIBILITY). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V599000 (VISIBILITY). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy. The contact stated while driving with the low beam headlights engaged, the low beams headlights failed to illuminate, causing a reduced visibility of the roadway. The contact engaged the high beam headlights and was able to continue driving. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V519000 (Exterior Lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
WHEN I START MY CAR THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE IN THE OFF POSITION. SOMETIMES ITS INTERMITTENT, SOMETIME THEY RUN FOR AS LONG AS I AM DRIVING. I HAVE CHECKED COMPLAINTS ON THIS GOING BACK TO 2013.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY XL. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO JUMPSTART THE BATTERY. SHORTLY AFTER CHARGING THE BATTERY, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.
WHILE DRIVING, IN PITCH BLACK DARKNESS ON 6/10/2016 AROUND 1:00 AM, MY HEADLIGHTS SUDDENLY WENT OFF. THE ONLY WAY I COULD OBTAIN LIGHTS WAS USING THE HIGH BEAMS. LOW BEAMS DO NOT WORK AND HIGH BEAM ONLY WORKS IN MANUAL ON/OFF MODE. WE CHECKED THE LAMPS AND FUSES. ALL ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. I HAVE NO LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING OR IN PARK. THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS MOVE ON THERE OWN AND AT ANY TIME, WHILE DRIVING , IN PARK AND WHEN THE CAR IS NOT RUNNING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THE DOOR PANEL RECALL WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER HAS INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THAT EITHER. LAST YEAR (2015) I HAD TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS (SUSPENSION) ON BOTH REAR WHEELS. THE CAR WOULD DROP DOWN LOWER THAN ANY MID SIZE CAR. ONCE STARTED THE BAGS WOULD INFLATE BUT THE CAR MAY DROP AT ANY GIVE TIME WHILE DRIVING. GM DID NOT COVER THIS COST AND THE DEALER WANTED OVER $1200.00 TO REPAIR. PRIOR TO THAT THE GAS GAUGE QUIT WORKING. WHICH GM DID COVER THE REPAIR COST BUT I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL. I JUST HAPPENED TO BE AT THE DEALER FOR THE DRIVER DOOR RECALL AND MENTIONED IT.
INFLATOR STOPPED WORKING, AIR BAG BLEW OUT WHILE ON FREEWAY!
JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHERS MY 2006 GMC ENVOY DENALI HAS A BAD #7 LIFTER. WHERE ARE THE RECALLS????? GM IS GETTING AWAY WITH RIPPING OFF THE PUBLIC AND NO ONE CARES. JUST BAIL THEM OUT AND THEN LET THEM ROB ALL OF US ALSO???????????????

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V519000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE RECEIVED THE FREE REMEDY REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
FUEL GAUGE DOESN'T WORK.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER PUTTING FUEL IN AND FUEL GAUGE SUDDENLY SHOWS EMPTY AND MY VEHICLE STALLED. THE FUEL GUAGE WOULD THEN SHOW FULL AT TIMES THEN EMPTY. NOW IT SHOWS EMPTY ALL THE TIME AND HAS STALLED 3 MORE TIMES WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC.
FAILURE OF THE DOD LIFTER, ALSO KNOWN AS THE ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. WHILE AT SPEED ON THE FREEWAY, THE DOD LIFTER ON CYLINDER #7 FAILED CAUSING A MISFIRE ON THE CYLINDER WHICH CAUSED TEH ENGINE TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THIS IS THE 2ND FAILURE OF A DOD LIFTER ON MY TRUCK. IN NOV 2014, A DOD LIFTER ON CYLINDER #6 FAILED, CAUSING A ENGINE MISFIRE AND A VIOLENT SHAKE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS DETERMINED TO BE LACK OF OIL PRESSURIZE THE DOD LIFTER. UPON DECIDING TO REBUILD THE MOTOR RATHER THAN REPLACING THE MOTOR, WE DECIDED TO REPLACE ALL INTERNAL COMPONENTS OF THE MOTOR SIMPLY BECAUSE THE MOTOR WOULD NEED A FULL TEAR DOWN ANYWAY. THE LIFTERS, OIL PRESSURE SOLENOIDS OF THE DOD LIFTERS, ROCKERS, ROCKER ARMS, SPRINGS AND CAMSHAFT WERE ALL REPLACED THINKING THAT WE MIGHT AS WELL REBUILD THE BLOCK WITH NEW COMPONENTS TO SAVE OFF ANY FUTURE ISSUES. AFTER 1 MONTH IN THE GMC SERVICE CENTER, THE VEHICLE WAS BACK ON THE ROAD IN DEC 2014. THIS REPAIR WAS $5,900.00 IN MARCH 2016, YES 14 MONTHS LATER, A 2ND FAILURE OF A DOD LIFTER OCCURRED ON CYLINDER #7. THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME ISSUES AS IN NOV 2014. THIS FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE REBUILT MOTOR ON NEW COMPONENTS INSTALLED IN NOV 2014. THIS REPAIR WILL COST $2500 JUST TO REPLACE THE 1 LIFTER. NO OTHER COMPONENTS. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT A THE DOD FAILURE IS MORE COMMON AND IS A DESIGN FLAW OF THE ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. THIS ISSUE IS MORE THAN A TSB ISSUE, IT SHOULD BE A RECALL.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE HAD TO MAKE MANY REPAIRS ON THIS VEHICLE. HOWEVER, NOW THE LIFTERS IN THE ENGINE COLLAPSED. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS ABOUT 87,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE AND THE LIFTERS COLLAPSING. WE ARE A ONE INCOME FAMILY AND THE REPAIRS TO THIS VEHICLE ARE ASTRONOMICAL. WELL OVER 3500.00 DOLLARS. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE AND HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A YEAR NOW AT MY MECHANICS. THE VEHICLE IS OF NO USE TO ME AND HAS BECOME A HUGE PAPER WEIGHT NOW. THE WORST PART IS I STILL OWE ON THE VEHICLE TOO. GM NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND DO A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THE AFM LIFTERS, OR PAY FOR THE REPAIRS TO THIS VEHICLE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT AGAIN. OWN UP TO YOUR MISTAKES AND TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THIS PROBLEM. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS VEHICLE THAT IS SUPPOSE TO BE AMERICAN MADE!!!!!!! THEN YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY PEOPLE ARE BUYING MORE FOREIGN MADE CARS. THEY SEEM TO BE MORE RELIABLE THAN THE GM PRODUCTS.
FOR MORE THAN A MONTH MY TRUCK HAS CUT OFF COMPLETELY AS I BEGIN TO BREAK WHEN I I AM COMING TO A STOP OR WHEN I AM MAKING A TURN INTO A PARKING LOT OR AT A CORNER. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW DURING ONE TRIP. IT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN I AM IN MOTION BUT ONCE I TURN ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTART IT, IT CRANKS RIGHT BACK UP. I WAS TOLD, BASED ON MY DESCRIPTION THAT IT COULD BE A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT IN THE TURNDOWN SOLENOID SWITCH OR SENSOR ASSOCIATED WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BUT I NEED MY VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM ALWAYS OCCURS WHEN I AM ON A CITY STREET. IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY/INTERSTATE WHEN I AM IN PERPETUAL MOTION.THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO LEAVE IT FOR MORE THAN A DAY AT A SHOP, NOR DO I THINK I SHOULD SHOULDER ALL THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PAYING FOR REPAIRS IF IT IS A DEFECT INHERENT IN THE VEHICLE. PLEASE ADVISE ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IF THERE IS ANY RECOURSE I CAN TAKE AGAINST THE MANUFACTURER SO I CAN HAVE THESE NEEDED REPAIRS DONE IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE GEAR SHIFT CABLE REPLACED ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO THINKING THAT THIS WAS THE PROBLEM. THAT WAS A $250 JOB WITH PARTS AND LABOR.
INITIALLY, WHEN THE CAR WAS FILLED WITH FUEL, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD AUTOMATICALLY GO TO EMPTY AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. AFTER DRIVING SEVERAL MILES, THE GAUGE WOULD CORRECT ITSELF AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF. AFTER MONTHS OF THIS, THE SYSTEM DOES NOT CORRECT ITSELF AND I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE - IT CONSTANTLY GOES FROM FULL TO EMPTY.

THE LOW BEAMS WENT OUT AT NIGHT WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE CITY STREETS ARE DARK AT NIGHT. THIS ENDANGER ME AS A DRIVER AS WELL AS PEDESTRIANS CROSSING THE STREET AT NIGHT.
HI, I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS METER ON MY GMC ENVOY 2006. IT HAS 38,000 MILES. THE GAS GAUGE SHOWS THAT THE GAS TANK IS EMPTY EVEN THOUGH I FILL IT UP. WHEN I START THE ENGINE THE GAUGE GOES SHOWS THAT THE TANK IS FULL, AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING IT GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN TO EMPTY AND I GET THE SIGNAL THAT THE TANK IS EMPTY. MY CONCERN IS ABOUT IF THERE IS ANY RECALL ON THAT BECAUSE IT ONLY HAS 38,000 MILES. I WAS ALSO CHECKING ONLINE AND FOUND A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS MATTER BECAUSE IT IS A SIGN OF A DEFECTED PART. GAS SENDING UNIT/FUEL PUMP LINES ROT OUT DUE TO CORROSION AND SPRAY GASOLINE ALL OVER THE UNDERSIDE OF VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE MIGHT STALL BUT OFTEN TIMES IT KEEPS RUNNING, ALL WHILE SPRAYING GASOLINE ALL OVER THE PLACE. THIS ONE DOES NOT EVEN TRIP A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHILE RUNNING IN THIS CONDITION. THE ONLY WARNING WAS THE SMELL OF GASOLINE- SOME PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE A SENSE OF SMELL, AND THIS COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. THIS IS A FIRE WAITING TO HAPPEN. THIS CORROSION ISSUE IS KNOWN TO GM, WHY IS THIS NOT A SAFETY RECALL? THIS LET LOOSE ON MY SISTER IN-LAW WHILE DRIVING, IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN EXPLOSION OR SERIOUS FIRE. GM KNOWS THAT THESE ROT OUT PREMATURELY DUE TO POOR MATERIALS AND COMBINED WITH ROAD SALT AND ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS IN SNOW STATES. THIS VEHICLE ALSO SUFFERS FROM THE DRIVER DOOR SWITCH FOR DOOR LOCKS AND WINDOWS NOT ALWAYS WORKING, DUE TO SHORTING OUT FROM WATER...AGAIN A KNOWN ISSUE WITH "SOME" UNITS OF THIS YEAR, BUT THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED ON THIS PARTICULAR "UNIT" YET. SOME OF THESE HAVE SHORTED OUT AND CAUSED FIRES- COMBINED WITH THE LEAKY GAS SENDING UNITS, THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. DO NOT PARK THIS VEHICLE IN A GARAGE- A FIRE WAITING TO HAPPEN...COME ON- MAKE GM TAKE CARE OF THESE PROBLEMS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. THIS TRUCK WAS AT A DEALER FOR THE FUEL LEAK, THEY TOLD HER IT NEEDS A SENDER UNIT AND A BUNCH OF OTHER THINGS THAT HAVE FAILED ON THIS POORLY BUILT TRUCK, WHICH INCLUDE WHEEL BEARINGS, ABS SENSORS. STEERING WHEEL SENSOR (? REALLY) INOP DOOR LOCKS, LEAKING FUEL, WATER PUMP LEAKING, FAILING HEADLIGHTS- THAT WORK WHEN THEY WANT, AND A WHOLE BUNCH OF OTHER REPAIRS. THIS FUEL AND ELECTRICAL ISSUE(S) SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY RECALLED. THIS IS AFFECTING A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE NORTHERN STATES WITH SNOW AND SALT ON THE ROADWAYS.

I HAVE CHROME WHEELS ON MY ENVOY AND THEY HAVE A LOT OF CORROSION ON THEM. I LOOSE A LOT OF AIR EVERY TWO WEEKS. I MEAN I HAVE TO PUT AIR INTO THEM A LOT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A RECALL ON THE WHEELS.

I HAVE 2006 GMC ENVOY, WHOLE DOOR PANEL WENT OUT BEFORE RECALL, SO WE PAID $2000 AND HAD FIXED, WHEN RECALL CAME OUT, THEY REIMBURSED US. BUT BECAUSE RECALL WASN'T OUT YET I AM THINKING THEY PUT OLD PART IN, THIS WAS AROUND 2008. IT HAS BEEN NEARLY 8 MONTHS SINCE THAT RECALL WAS ISSUED, AND YET THERE REMAINS NO IDENTIFIABLE REMEDY OR SOLUTION AS TO HOW THEY WILL RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND REPAIR / REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS.. IT IS A SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION OCCURRING OVER SEVEN TIMES SPORADICALLY FROM JULY THRU AUGUST 2015 AS I HAVE SLOWED TO A STOP AT A TRAFFIC INTERSECTION AND ALSO WHEN PULLING HEAD -IN TO PARKING SPACES. VOSS ELECTRONIC MONITORING CONFIRMED THE FACT THAT THE HIGH SPEED ACCELERATION ACTUALLY OCCURRED WHILE BRAKING, BUT THEY STATED WHEN THEIR SERVICE PERSON KEPT AND DROVE THE VEHICLE IT DID NOT OCCUR. GM (TAC) ADVISED THEM UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WAS "IMPOSSIBLE AND THE ONLY ANSWER" IS THAT I MUST BE USING TWO- FEET, HOLDING THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR DOWN SIMULTANEOUSLY.
