STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CONSTANTLY COME ON FOR REPAIR,SECOND REPAIR ON FUEL SYSTEM, DIAGNOSTIC SHOWS PROBLEM IN STEERING AND RIGHT WHEEL. *TR
ENVOY LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING 55 MILES AN HOUR DOWN THE ROAD. BECAUSE I DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS OUT OF GAS I HAD IT TOWED TO A SHOP THINKING THERE WAS AN ENGINE ISSUE. SHOP DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS JUST OUT OF GAS AND THAT MY FUEL SENSOR IS BAD AND QUOTED ME $1500 TO FIX. THE GAS GAUGE IS NEVER ACCURATE AND I HAVE RAN OUT OF GAS MULTIPLE TIMES WITH TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR. AFTER SEEING ALL THE COMPLAINTS OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE I CALLED GMC AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WILL ONLY FIX FOR FREE IF IT HAS LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON IT. I ONLY HAD 108,000 ON IT WHEN THE ISSUE STARTED. HOW FAIR IS THAT? *TR
2006 GMC ENVOY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REIMBURSEMENT FOR FRONT POWER WINDOW SWITCH MODULE REPLACEMENT. *SMD ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE, THE POWER WINDOW SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE DUE TO CORROSION CAUSED BY WATER OR RAIN THAT LEAKED INTO THE MAIN CIRCUIT BOARD WINDOW SWITCH MODULE.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME MY BLOWER MOTOR AND BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR HAS BLOWN OUT IN TWO MONTHS. ME AND MY TWO CHILDREN HAD TO DRIVE FROM ALABAMA TO VIRGINIA ON OUR FAMILY VACATION IN 110 DEGREE WEATHER WITHOUT ANY AIR. SUV SMELLED LIKED MELTED WIRES. WHEN I TOOK IT IN AGAIN TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED. MECHANIC SAID THESE KEEP HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. THIS IS HORRIBLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ACTIVATED, A STRONG BURNING ODOR EMITTED THROUGH THE AIR VENTS. SUDDENLY THE HEATER BLOWER FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BUT LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE HEATER BLOWER WIRING CONNECTOR WAS MELTED AND HAD DAMAGED THE RELAY RESISTOR MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THERE WAS A VOLUNTARY RECALL ISSUED BY THE MANUFACTURER FOR THE 2006 SIERRA 1500 VEHICLE PERTAINING TO THE FAULTY RELAY RESISTOR MODULE AND WIRE CONNECTOR BUT NOT FOR THE ENVOY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
FUEL GAUGE HAS STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. WHEN TANK IS FILLED, THE GAUGE READS EMPTY AND FUEL LIGHT IS ON. WHEN THE FUEL LEVEL BEGINS TO DECREASE BELOW THE FULL LEVEL FROM DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE GAUGE FLUCTUATES BETWEEN THE COMPLETELY FULL MARK AND THE EMPTY MARK. THIS FLUCTUATION CAN OCCUR DURING A TRIP THAT IS LESS THAN A FEW MILES. *TR
WHEN TURNING THE KEY ON THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES DOES NOT START AND HAS TWICE FROM WHEN I GOT IT IN FEB 2012 ALL THE INTERNAL ELECTRONICS HAVE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, STARTED TO ROUGH IDLE AND ALMOST CAUSED A VEHICLE ACCIDENT BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE CAR WHILE DRIVING, ENGINE SHUTDOWN WHILE DRIVING AND LOST ALL POWER AND BRAKING & STEERING ABILITY, RESTATED VEHICLE AND GOT BURNING GAS SMELL FROM VEHICLE EXHAUST PIPE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON WITH CODE P0014, GOT VEHICLE SERVICED AND HAD NEW SENSOR INSTALLED BUT NOW GETTING PINGING SOUND FROM ENGINE UNDER LOAD AND WHILE DRIVING AT SPEED AND MINOR VIBRATION WHILE AT IDLE. I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE WHERE ALMOST FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING VEHICLE DUE TO RUNNING RISK OF ENGINE SHUTDOWN WHILE AT SPEED AND UNABLE TO STEER OR BRAKE WHEN ENGINE STALLS DUE TO THIS CONDITION WITH CODE P0014 IN CARS COMPUTER. WOULD REALLY LIKE TO BE CONTACTED ABOUT THIS ISSUE, GM SHOULD HAVE A RECALL TO INSPECT THESE SYSTEMS AND PROVIDE FREE REPAIRS OF ANY FAULTY SENSORS AND PROVIDE A FULL SERVICE CHECK ON THIS VEHICLES. THE TAILGATE WILL OCCASIONALLY NOT OPEN. THE ACTUATOR HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SEEMS TO ALSO "ACT"UP WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE REMOTE TAKES SEVERAL TIMES TO OPEN THE DOORS. WE HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY SEVERAL TIMES, THE DOME LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON ANYMORE, THE STEREO TURNS OFF IMMEDIATELY WHEN YOU TURN THE ENGINE OFF, INSTEAD OF STAYING ON UNTIL YOU OPEN ONE OF THE DOORS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EMITTED A STRONG BURNING ODOR WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR PANEL AND WIRES WERE BURNED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 129,000.
NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FOR THE PAST WEEK HAS BEEN ACTING VERY STRANGE. I HAD A HALF TANK OF GAS AND DRIVE VERY LITTLE DAILY (MAYBE 10 MILES) AND IN 3 DAYS IT WENT FROM 1/2 TANK TO EMPTY. I ACTUALLY THOUGHT MY GAS WAS LEAKING OUT, BUT NO GAS SPOTS OR LEAKS. NOW, IT WAS ON EMPTY, LIGHT CAME ON, AND STARTED TO BING, AND THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON ALSO. I FILLED THE CAR UP AND FUEL LIGHT IS STILL ON AND SO IS THE ENGINE LIGHT. INDICATING A PROBLEM AT THE FUEL GAGE. I LOVE THIS CAR, I HAVE NEVER LOVED A CAR MORE...BUT, NOW READING ALL THE HUGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS...AND THE COST TO HAVE IT FIXED IS WAYYYYYYYYY MORE THAN I CAN PAY OR AFFORD. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW I AM GOING TO PAY THE FIRST HALF OF MY RE TAXES AND MY HOME OWNERS INSURANCE, I USED TO WORK FOR YEARS WITH AUTO DEALERS AND WITH THIS AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS, THE MANUFACTURE NORMALLY DOES A RECALL AND FIXES THIS PROBLEM. THE LOW FUEL LEVEL LIGHT HAS COME ON, AND THE TANK WAS FILLED WITHIN 25 MILES. RESEARCHING, I FIND THIS IS A CURRENT ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE. THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY ALMOST ALL THE TIME, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON. THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT SHOW CORRECTLY AT ALL. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE POWER-WINDOW, DOOR-LOCK, REMOTE OUTSIDE MIRROR CONTROL. REFERRING TO THE GMC RECALL OF AUG 18, 2012 OF REPLACING OF THE POWER WINDOW SWITCH. AFTER CONTACTING GMC REF# [XXX], MY VEHICLE IS NOT IN THE VIN RANGE FOR REPAIR. THE FRONT WINDOWS WILL NOT GO DOWN, DRIVERS DOOR LOCK WILL NOT WORK, REAR WINDOWS GO DOWN AND UP BY THEMSELVES, OUTSIDE MIRRORS CHANGE POSITION WITH NO INTERVENTION.BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE NEW IN 2006. WE USE IT EXTENSIVELY AS WE ARE TRAVELING NURSES. THE FUEL GAUGE WILL NOT REGISTER THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TANK. I FILLED UP THE TANK AND THE FUEL INDICATOR WENT TO F THAN IMMEDIATELY WENT TO E. I NOW MUST USE MY TRIP INDICATOR SO THAT I KNOW WHEN TO FILL MY TANK. I NEVER GET A CORRECT READING, IT IS CONSTANTLY ON E!! *TR
WHILE DRIVING I TURNED ON MY LEFT BLINKER TO TURN. THE WIPER CAME ON AND IT SPRAYED WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID. I PUT IT BACK INTO THE NEUTRAL POSITION AND THEY KEPT SPRAYING AND WOULD NOT STOP. I PULLED OVER TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON. THE WIPERS CAME BACK ON IMMEDIATELY AND CONTINUED TO SPRAY WIND WASHER FLUID. THEN MY SPEAKERS STARTED TO PLAY A DISTORTED SOUND. I TURNED OFF VEHICLE AGAIN ABOUT 4 MORE TIMES AND EVERY TIME THE WIPER BLADES AND SPRAY CAME BACK ON. I HAD TO STAY PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES THEN THEY STOPPED. OR SO I THOUGHT, AS I STARTED TO DRIVE AND HIT 20MPH THE WIPER BLADES CAME ON AND IT STARTED SPRAYING AGAIN TILL IT FINISHED THE ENTIRE GALLON OF WIND WASHER FLUID. AS I PULLED INTO MY DRIVE WAY THE WIPER BLADES KEPT ON CLEANING WITH NO LIQUID. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND THE WIPER BLADES CONTINUED FOR A FEW MORE SECONDS THEN STOPPED. THIS SEEMS LIKE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND I AM WONDERING WHAT IS MY NEXT STEP FROM HERE? *JS
TRIED TO TURN ON THE AIR CONDITIONING AND DISCOVERED THE FAN DID NOT WORK. AFTER QUITE A BIT OF RESEARCH AND AN EXPENSIVE DIAGNOSIS, WAS INFORMED THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR WAS BURNED OUT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON, FREQUENT, AND EXPENSIVE PROBLEM IF DONE BY THE DEALERSHIP. THERE ARE SEVERAL POTENTIAL HAZARDS TO FAMILIES AND CHILDREN WHICH INCLUDE; THE POSSIBILITY OF FIRE CAUSED BY THE HEATED & MELTED WIRE, LOSS OF AIR CONDITIONING IN THE HEAT OF THE DAY WHICH MAY CAUSE HEAT STROKE OR WORSE, AND LOSS OF HEAT DURING THE WINTER MONTHS MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE SAFELY WITHOUT THE WINDOWS ICING OVER AND INHIBITING VISION. A RECALL IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE PROBLEMS WITH THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR IS NECESSARY. MECHANIC STATES THAT BOTH CHEVROLET AND GMC MODEL VEHICLES FROM 2004 TO 2007 ARE BEING REPAIRED WITH THIS EXACT PROBLEM. HE HAS REPAIRED 5 VEHICLES THIS MONTH IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA. MECHANIC ALSO STATES THAT MILEAGE IS NOT THE ISSUE AS HE HAS SEEN LOW MILEAGE GMC AND CHEVROLETS COME IN FOR REPAIRS WITH THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM. MY GMC ENVOY DENALI 2006 USES UP TO 2 TO 3 QUARTS OF OIL IN A 30 DAY PERIOD. I HAVE NO LEAKS OR EXHAUST PROBLEMS. IT FINALLY COLLAPSED A LIFTER AND PUSH ROD. SAYS THERE IS NO NOTICE OR RECALL, BUT THE IS THE SAME ENGINE THEY USED IN THE 2003 PONTIAC, THEY DID RECALL THOSE MOTORS. DOES ANY ONE HAVE SOME HELP FOR ME? *TR

THIS IS KNOWN PROBLEM WITH GM SUVS FROM 2005 -2007. THE NHTSA HAS GOTTEN 668 COMPLAINTS. GM AGREES TO PAY 1/2 THE FEE TO FIX IT. MY HALF WAS $194. THE DEALER STATED THEY WILL NOT PAID 100% BECAUSE IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. I TOLD THEM -"TRY RUNNING OUT OF GAS ON THE ENTRY RAMP TO THE GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE AND SEE HOW SAFE IT IS". GM SHOULD RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND FIX THEM . *TR
FUEL GAUGE MADE SEVERAL JUMPS BACK AND FORTH AFTER FUELING AND PULLING AWAY FROM THE PUMP. GAUGE WORKED INTERMITTENTLY FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS THEN FAILED COMPLETELY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON NOW IN ADDITION TO FUEL GAUGE READING OF E EVEN AFTER FUELING THE VEHICLE. HAS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR MORE THAN A YEAR NOW AND ABOUT ONCE EVERY 6 MONTHS IT SPRINGS BACK TO LIFE FOR A MOMENT THEN BACK TO E. *TR
FUEL GAUGE ERRATIC, WILL READ FULL THEN SLOWLY DROP TO EMPTY WHILE DRIVING. EVENTUALLY THE EMPTY LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE AND THE LOW FUEL BELL WILL SOUND. *TR
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY READ EMPTY ON THE FUEL GAUGE, THEN THE PANEL SAID LOW OIL PRESSURE SHUT OFF ENGINE. I RAN OUT OF GAS ON A BUSY HIGHWAY PASSING LANE ALMOST CAUSING A BAD ACCIDENT WITH MY 5 YEAR OLD IN THE BACK SEAT AS I COULD NOT TELL MY FUEL LEVEL. THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD WORK SPORADICALLY OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS AND THE LOW OIL PRESSURE WOULD GO AWAY AND COME BACK. WHEN I HAD THIS CHECKED OUT IT WAS THOUGHT TO BE THE OIL SENDING UNIT SO IT WAS CHANGED ALONG WITH THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. THE FUEL SENSOR WAS RESOLVED AT A COST OF $300 BUT THE LOW OIL PRESSURE CAME BACK ON EVEN THOUGH OIL WAS WELL MAINTAINED. SUDDENLY ON 3/1/2012 THE ENGINE RAN LOAD WHEN STARTED UP. I HAD TOWED TO THE SHOP WHERE (GM WHERE THEY DETERMINED THE ENGINE WAS NO GOOD. I HAD IT TOWED TO ANOTHER SHOP THAT DETERMINED THE ENGINE WAS NO GOOD AS WELL. I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE ENGINE ALMOST $5000. I THEN LOOKED ONLINE FOR THIS ISSUE AND FOUND A WEBSITE TRAILVOY.COM (REPRESENT CHEVY TRAILBLAZER AND GMC ENVOY). HERE I FOUND 1000'S OF POST OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES LOOKING TO FILE LAW SUITS AND WONDERING WHY WE CAN HAVE NO RECALL ON THIS DANGEROUS VEHICLE. THERE ORE 1000'S OF PEOPLE HAVING LOW OIL PRESSURE, DEAD ENGINES WITH LOW MILEAGE VEHICLES, RUN OUT OF GAS ON BUSY ROADS SUCH AS MYSELF AND MUCH MUCH MORE. THE GM ISSUES WE'VE EXPERIENCED AND ARE EXPERIENCING HAS BEEN HERE LONG BEFORE THE CURRENT ISSUES OF GM VEHICLES. HOW CAN WE GET SOMEONE WILLING TO HAVE THIS VEHICLE AND ISSUES ON THE RECALL LIST AND GET REIMBURSED FOR THE 1000'S OF DOLLARS SPENT TO REPAIR THIS VERY DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. IF A PETITION WILL DO IT PLEASE SHINE SOME LIGHT ON THIS. I HAD RECEIVED POST ON THE FORUM FROM NUMEROUS PEOPLE WILLING TO JOIN A CLASS ACTION SUIT AND MANY WERE CONSULTING ATTORNEYS ON HOW TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THIS. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE THAT WE DESPERATELY NEED THE NHTSA TO LOOK INTO. *TR
WHEN DRIVING MY ENVOY HOME FROM WORK THE WINDOW STARTING GOING DOWN BY ITSELF AND THEN IT MADE A HORRIBLE NOISE LIKE A GRINDING NOISE. THEN THE WINDOW STARTED GOING BACK AND SMOKE STARTED PORING OUT OF THE DOOR LOCKS AND BY THE VENT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE DOOR. SMOKE WAS POURING OUT I HAD TO PULL OVER AND WHEN I GOT OUT IT SMELLED LIKED BURNT RUBBER. IT CONTINUED TO SMOKE FOR ABOUT 5 MINS. AND THEN IT STOPPED. THE SMELL IS STILL IN MY CAR BUT I HAVE NO ELECTRIC FUNCTIONS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. MY WINDOWS DO NOT WORK, THE OUTSIDE MIRROR DOES NOT WORK, THE SEAT CONTROLS DO NOT WORK, THE HEATED SEATED SEATS DO NOT WORK. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING LEAN AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO MAKE REPAIRS UNTIL THE COMPONENT HAD ACTUALLY FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS LATER CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,000. UPDATED 05/08/12*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. I RECENTLY SMELLED GAS FUMES IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE AND I DO AN A VISUALLY INSPECTION OF THE FUEL SYSTEM OF MY VEHICLE. I FOUND A LEAK OF FUEL COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK; JUST FROM THE FUEL TANK NECK. I AM REALLY WORRY ABOUT IT BECAUSE MOST PART OF THE TIME I AM TRAVELING WITH MY SON. RECENTLY I DO A RESEARCH AND FOUND NHTSA ACTION NUMBER PE07014 ABOUT A RECALL FROM GMC ABOUT THE 2002-2004 GMC ENVOY AND CHEVY TRAILBLAZER ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM JUST HAPPEN TO ME. *TR
FUEL GAUGE FLUCTUATES BETWEEN FULL AND EMPTY. GAUGE DOES NOT SHOW FUEL LEVELS. *TR
I OWN A 2006 ENVOY DENALI AND LAST MAY 2010 I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE A BUSY HIGHWAY AROUND 55 MILES AN HOUR AND THE TRUCK JUST LOST ALL POWER AND COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN. IT TOOK ALEAST THREE TRIES BEFORE I COULD GET IT STARTED AGAIN. I WAS SO SCARED THAT A TRACKER TRAILOR WOULD HIT ME FROM BEHIND. IT DIDN'T DO AGAIN FOR A WEEK , AND THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE SHOP AND THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED AT ABOUT 65,000 MILES. NOW ITS A YEAR LATER AND I AGAIN WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE TRUCK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND ALL POWER WAS LOST. I PUT MY HAZARDS ON BUT COULD ONLY GET THE TRUCK TO ABOUT 15 MILES AN HOUR SO THAT I COULD GET OUT OF HARMS WAY. I CALLED GMC TO MAKE AN COMPLAINT AS IT IS VERY RARE TO HAVE TO REPLACE A THROTTLE BODY EVERY YEAR. I TAKE CARE OF MY TRUCK AND SEE NO REASON WHY IT HAPPENING OTHER THAN GMC DEFECT. GMC DID NOT HELP ME AND JUST SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND THAT IT WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. I NO THIS TO BE UNTRUE AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH GMC AND WILL NEVER BUY THE PRODUCT AGAIN. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THIS TRUCK, AND AFTER LOOKING INTO IT THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER ENVOY OWNERS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS I AM. I DON'T DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY IF I CAN HELP IT AT ALL, GETTING STUCK IN THE MIDDLE LANE WITH A TRUCK THAT WON'T MOVE IS WAY TO SCARY. GMC SHOULD HAVE TO MAKE IT RIGHT AND RECALL THE TRUCK AND FIGURE OUT WHY THE THROTTLE BODY FAILS. *TR
THE ENTIRE COMPONENT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FAILS TO WORK. THE WINDOWS OPERATE FROM THE BACK SEAT AND PASSENGER SEAT CONTROLS. THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW DOES NOT WORK, THE DRIVERS DOOR DOES NOT LOCK (AUTOMACTICALLY) I HAVE A FRIEND WHO HAS WARNED ME NOT TO REPLACE THE FUSE AS IT COULD START A FIRE. I HAVE HAD THIS CHECKED OUT AND THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT IN THE DOOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
I HAVE LOOKED INTO THIS ISSUE AND THERE ARE 1,000'S OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE I HAVE. MY AIRBAGS GO LOW OVER NIGHT AND UNDER 32 DEGREES DON'T PUMP UP AT ALL. I WORK 26 MILES AWAY AND TRAVEL TO WORK RIDING ON MY FRAME. MY BODY IS JARRED AND MY TRUCK IS GETTING BEATEN BECAUSE THE AIR RIDE SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. YOU CAN HEAR THE PUMP WORKING AND I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT IT'S A VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS ISSUE IS NOT FROM AGE. OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AS EARLY AS 40K. *TR
LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON. - THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT I NEARLY RAN OUT OF FUEL WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE ENGINE STALLED; HOWEVER, I WAS ABLE TO RESTARTED IT AND THERE WAS JUST ENOUGH FUEL FOR ME TO LIMP INTO A GAS STATION. *TR
WHEN I WENT OUT TO MY TRUCK IN THE MORNING MY VEHICLE WAS FULL OF SMOKE, THE DRIVERS SIDE ELECTRICAL ON THE DOOR DOESN'T WORK, DOOR LOCK. WINDOWS DON'T WORK, MIRROR DOESN'T WORK KEYLESS ENTRY EITHER, I WENT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT WAS A DRIVERS SIDE MASTER DOORSWITCH FAILURE, THEY WANTED $350.00 TO FIX WE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE LESS THAN 30 DAYS DIDN'T MAKE 1ST PAYMENT YET. WE SAW IN THE NEWSPAPER THAT THESE VEHICLES HAVE THIS PROBLEM SO WERE HOPING YOU CAN GENERATE ENOUGH ENERGY INTO THIS PROBLEM SO WE CAN GET THIS FIXED. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON THE FL TPKE. IN MY 2006 GMC ENVOY ON 11/8/11 JUST SOUTH OF ORLANDO AT 9:30 PM WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME JAMMED ON THE BREAKS BECAUSE THE CAR IN FRONT OF HIM WAS DRIVING UNSAFELY. WHEN I JAMMED ON MY BRAKES THE ABS DID NOT FUNCTION AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP. I WAS SWERVING VIOLENTLY FROM SIDE TO SIDE ACROSS THE TWO LANE HIGHWAY UNTIL I FINALLY GOT THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL WITH MUCH PHYSICAL EFFORT. I THOUGHT I WAS A DEAD MAN BUT I SURVIVED. THANK GOD THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND ME OR THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT AT 70 MPH WHICH IS THE SPEED LIMIT. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO AVOID STRIKING THE OTHER TWO VEHICLES IN THE ROAD. THERE WAS TIRE SMOKE EVERYWHERE. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND NOW I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. GMC NEEDS TO BE NOTIFIED AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS. *TR

CONSUMER STATED THAT IN TRYING TO AVOID A COLLISION WHAT HAPPEN WAS THE FAILURE OF HIS ABS SYSTEM CAUSED THE BRAKES TO LOCK UP THROWING THE VEHICLE OUT OF CONTROL. *LN THE CONSUMER STATED HE SWERVED VIOLENTLY TO THE LEFT, AND HE INSTINCTIVELY STEERED TO THE RIGHT, AND THE VEHICLE WENT TO THE LEFT AND THEN TO THE RIGHT AGAIN. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL. HE WAS SURROUNDED BY SMOKE THAT SMELLED LIKE BURNING RUBBER. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. HOWEVER, THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM. *JB
REDUCED POWER LIGHT CAME ON WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY. ALMOST GOT HIT BY A SEMI. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES. THE ENGINE HAS ONLY 8K MILES SINCE ENGINE WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
GAS HAND READS EMPTY AND DOES NOT MOVE FROM EMPTY WHEN TANK IS FULL OF GAS. *TR
MY 2006 GMC ENVOY FUEL LEVEL GAUGE HAS STARTED READING EMPTY AFTER FILLING WITH FUEL. I HAVE BEEN USING MY ODOMETER TO KEEP TRACK OF MILES SINCE LAST FILL UP. IT HAS BEEN GIVING SPORADIC READINGS AND CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. THIS COULD CAUSE A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF I WAS TO RUN OUT OF GAS IN TRAFFIC OR ON SOME LONELY ROAD IN THE COUNTRY AT NIGHT. GM IS AWARE OF THIS SITUATION BUT IS ONLY OFFERING TO PAY 50% AT THEIR EXHORBINATE SERVICE RATES. *TR

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 65-70 MPH. THE ENGINE LUGGED A LITTLE LIKE IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS BUT THE TANK WAS HALF FULL. THE ENGINE RESUMED RUNNING AT FULL SPEED. A FEW SECONDS LATER THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO COAST LONG ENOUGH TO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY. BUT WITHOUT POWER STEERING AND BRAKES THIS WAS NOT AN EASY TASK. ONCE THE CAR STOPPED I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK BUT THE DRIVER COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO PUT IT ON THE CAR CARRIER BECAUSE THE SHIFTER IS TIED TO THE ELECTRONICS. WITHOUT POWER IT DOES NOT WORK. HE HAD TO CALL FOR ANOTHER TOW TRUCK TO PULL THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN TESTED AND FOUND LOW VOLTAGE FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. HE REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. DIAGNOSTICS, PART AND LABOR $307. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. IF I WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE OUT OF TRAFFIC I WOULD HAVE BEEN A SITTING DUCK IN THE MIDDLE IF THE FREEWAY. SINCE THE REST OF THE ELECTRONICS ARE CONNECTED TO THE IGNITION I HAD NO SAFETY EQUIPMENT SUCH AS AIR BAGS. IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, IT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. *TR
2006 ENVOY GAS GAUGE STOPPED WORKING AND MY WIFE RAN OUT OF GAS ON A BUSY FREEWAY IN HOUSTON. THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND SHE COULD NOT TURN OFF THE FREEWAY. SHE WAS SITTING IN TRAFFIC AT RUSH HOUR. *TR ## VIN FAILED ##
BEGINNING ON 08-20-2011 MY 2006 ENVOY BEGAN TURNING ON AND OFF ITS WIPERS AND SPRAYING WINDSHIELD WASHING FLUID EVERYWHERE. IT NOW DOES THIS REGULARLY EVERYDAY IT IS DRIVEN. ON MY 2006 GMC ENVOY MY GAS TANK WAS READING BETWEEN 1/4 AND A 1/2 TANK OF GAS, SO I STOPPED TO FILL UP. ONCE I STARTED THE CAR BACK UP THE LOW FUEL LIGHT WAS ON ALONG WITH THE FUEL GAUGE BEING ON EMPTY. AFTER DRIVING A FEW MILES THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO STOP AND TURN THE CAR OFF I DID AND THE LIGHTS BOTH STAYED ON. I BEGAN DRIVING AGAIN ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE GAS TANK STARTED TO RISE UP TO 1/2 A TANK TO FULL. THEN ONCE OFF THE HIGHWAY IT WENT BACK DOWN TO EMPTY AND THEN STARTED GOING BACK UP AND DOWN FOR THE REST OF THE DRIVE. I'VE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE BEFORE, SO WHEN THIS HAPPENED I WAS VERY SURPRISED. *TR

THE HEAT AND AIR FAN RESISTOR CAUGHT ON FIRE CAUSING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO CATCH ON FIRE. SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE DASH AND FROM THE GLOVE BOX. THE SURGE HAD CAUSED THE HEAD LIGHT WIRES TO BURN INTO. SUCH A MESS...FUEL GAUGE HAD STOPPED WORKING ABOUT A YEAR PRIOR TO THAT .NOW THE POWER STEERING IS HAVING A PROBLEM. WHAT NEXT..... *TR
THE FUEL TANK LEVEL SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE AND COULD RESULT IN A SUBJECT VEHICLE RUNNING OUT OF FUEL BECOMING STRANDED, STALL, AND BEING REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. *TR
