TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ENVOY DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
FUEL TANK LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF CONSTANTLY, GAUGE BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH. OCCURS DAILY, SEVERAL TIMES PER DAY. CHANGED GAS CAP, DID NOT MATTER. HAZARD AND VERY DIFFICULT TO JUDGE AMOUNT OF FUEL. SHOULD BE A RECALL! 2007 GMC ENVOY WITH 28,000 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE DID NOT READ PROPERLY. THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD DISPLAY READINGS OF HALF FULL OR EMPTY EVEN WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL. WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD DISPLAY A READING OF HALF FULL OR FULL. THE CONTACT MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
MY 2007 GMC ENVOY GAS GAUGE STARTED READING INACCURATELY ONE DAY AS I WAS FILLING THE GAS TANK...IT WENT UP AS IT WAS FILLING TO ABOUT 3/4 OF A TANK AND THEN WENT STRAIGHT DOWN TO E AND THE TANK WAS COMPLETELY FULL. IT "BOUNCED AROUND OVER THE NEXT 2-3 WEEKS AND FINALLY QUIT WORKING ALL TOGETHER. THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR IS ALWAYS ON AS IT REGISTERS E ALL THE TIME NOW. I HAVE RAN OUT OF GAS A FEW TIMES. I AM A NURSE WHO IS ON CALL AND CANNOT BE LEFT STRANDED. MY HUSBAND HAD A BRAIN INJURY AND I AM NOW THE SOLE PROVIDER IN THE HOME AND I CANNOT AFFORD THE PART AND LABOR....I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED...NEEDS TO BE RECALLED!!!!!!! *TR
2007 GMC ENVOY FUEL GAUGE NOT REGISTERING CORRECT AMOUNT. SWINGS ERRATICALLY FROM FULL TO EMPTY REGARDLESS OF AMOUNT OF FUEL IN TANK. THIS IS APPARENTLY A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES BASED ON INTERNET MESSAGE BOARDS WITH FUEL SENSOR FAILURE MOST COMMONLY CITED PROBLEM. THERE IS A RISK OF RUNNING OUT OF FUEL WITHOUT WARNING AND CREATING A HAZARDOUS DRIVING SITUATION. HAVE SEEN ON MSN THAT NHTSA IS INVESTIGATING SO AM ADDING MY COMPLAINT TO THE PILE AND ASKING THAT GM BE REQUIRED TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES TO CORRECT THIS DEFECT. 2007 GMC ENVOY BRAKES CONTINUE TO STAY ON AFTER BRAKE PEDAL IS RELEASED. THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO SLOW TO A HALT AND OR TIRES LOCK IN PLACE ON THEIR OWN. THIS HAPPENED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. ONCE WHILE IN THE DRIVEWAY AND OTHER ON A CROWDED STREET. *TR
WHEN I START MY CAR EVERY MORNING THE FUEL GAUGE STARTS OUT CORRECTLY AND THEN WHEN I START TO TRAVEL THE GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY. AFTER I TRAVEL APPROXIMATELY 15 MIN THE GAUGE WILL START TO CLIMB TO ABOUT THE APPROX CORRECT FUEL AMOUNT THEN IT DROPS DOWN AGAIN. I CAN USUALLY GET A GOOD READING AFTER I FILL THE TANK BUT WHEN I TURN THE ENGINE OFF IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR TWO WEEKS NOW. THE CONSEQUENCES ARE THAT I AM NOT SURE WHAT MY FUEL LEVEL IS UNLESS I COMPLETELY FILL THE TANK. I HAVEN'T DONE ANY CORRECTIVE MEASURES YET. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO DISPLAY AN ACCURATE FUEL LEVEL READING AFTER DISPENSING FUEL INTO THE FUEL TANK. THE FAILURE PROGRESSED OVER A PERIOD OF TIME AND EVENTUALLY THE FUEL GAUGE BECAME INOPERABLE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE FUEL TANK SENOR. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. ..UPDATED 10/19/11 *BF UPDATED 10/24/11
THE FUEL GAGE STAYS ON EMPTY WITH THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED ONCE YOU FILL THE VEHICLE TO FULL AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, AFTER SEVERAL HOURS THE FUEL GAGE WILL MOVE TO THE FULL MARK AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT MAY OR MAY NOT GO OUT. LEAVING YOU UNSURE WITH THE AMOUNT OF FUEL YOU HAVE IN VEHICLE. THIS OCCURS EVEN AFTER SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON.
THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD HAVE DIFFERENT READINGS WHILE DRIVING. GM REPLACED THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE AT A COST OF $400. *TR
THE FUEL GUAGE DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE TANK CAN BE FULL OF GAS, BUT THE GAUGE WILL SHOW THAT THE TANK IS EMPTY. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS THE FOURTH OCCURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AFTER EACH FAILURE AND THE DEALER FIRST DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS DEFECTIVE AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE SECOND TIME, THE DEALER REPLACED THE IGNITION COIL AND THE THIRD RECURRENCE OF THE FAILURE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS REPLACED. EACH OF THE REMEDIES ADMINISTERED FAILED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHO WAS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO FILED A REPORT AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT HIM AT A LATER DATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
I HAVE A 2007 GMC ENVOY THAT THE GAS GAUGE SHOWS THAT THERE IS MORE GAS THAN ACTUALLY IS. I HAVE RAN OUT OF GAS A COUPLE OF TIMES. *TR
-FUEL GAUGE WAS ACTING FUNNY, WOULD GO FROM FULL TO EMPTY AND NOT READ THE CORRECT FUEL LEVEL. - DEALER STATED THAT THE GAUGE HAD GONE BAD AND IT WAS REPLACED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY, COST WAS COVERED LESS DEDUCTIBLE. *TR
WENT TO FILL MY GAS TANK ON MY 2007 GMC ENVOY AND TOPPED IT OFF. WENT I WENT INTO THE CAR THE FUEL GAUGE WAS GOING UP AND DOWN AND THEN WENT TO EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL MESSAGE AND SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD 871.00 TO REPAIR WHICH I DIDN'T HAVE. WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR MY INSPECTION THIS YEAR, MY MECHANIC TOLD ME HE HAS REPLACED SO MANY OF THESE ALREADY. I RECEIVED A LETTER TODAY BY GMC THAT THEY WILL PAY FOR HALF IF I TAKE IT TO A GMC DEALER. I DON'T THINK THIS IS FAIR. THEY CAN PUT PARTS IN THAT WILL FAIL THEN MAKE US COME TO THEIR DEALERSHIPS TO PAY UPWARDS OF 100.00 AN HOUR TO REPAIR. *TR
HI I HAVE AN 07 ENVOY DENALI AND I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON. TOOK IT TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE REPLACED MY ALTENATOR AND BATTERY IN 2010. NOW MY BAGS THAT LIFTS THE TRUCK STRUGGLE AND DOES NOT WORK ON A DAILY BASIS, MY LIGHTS MAY NOT COME ON AND THE OIL GAUGE LIGHT IS ON (AND ALSO DROPPED DOWN TO ZERO) AND SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHT STAYS ON. TWO YEARS AGO I REPLACE THE MOTOR THAT CONTROLS THE WINDOW THAT COST ME AROUND $500 BUCKS. I LIVE IN DC AND I CANNOT PASS INSPECTION BECAUSE OF THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. ON EDMUNDS.COM THERE ARE MANY TSB ISSUED FOR MY VEHICLE PURCHASED IN THAT YEAR. *KB
THE FUEL GAUGE FREQUENTLY STOPS WORKING OR GIVES INCORRECT READINGS WHILE DRIVING. INITIALLY THIS ONLY OCCURRED WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS ABOVE 3/4 FULL BUT HAS SINCE STARTED HAPPENING REGARDLESS OF FUEL LEVEL IN THE TANK. THE GAUGE NO LONGER PROVIDES ACCURATE FUEL LEVEL READINGS AT ANY LEVEL. DUE TO THE FACT THAT MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY I HAVE NOT PURSUED A REPAIR. THE REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE BASED ON THE MANY COMPLAINTS I'VE FOUND ON THE INTERNET REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE SHOP NOTICED THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS DID NOT WORK. I LEFT THE SHOP AND DECIDED TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM MYSELF. AFTER REPLACING ALL OF THE BULBS AND DISCOVERING THAT THE PROBLEM WAS ELSEWHERE. I TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY FOUND THAT THE PROBLEM EXISTED UNDER THE DASH, THEY DETERMINED THAT EVERY TIME I HIT BRAKES, THE WIRES WERE BEING STRIPPED AND CAUSED A SHORT. 2007 GMC ENVOY. DRIVING ON INTERSTATE ON SATURDAY 1/8/11, COLD SNOWY DAY, ALL OF A SUDDEN STEAM STARTED TO COME OUT OF VENTS, ALL WINDOWS FOGGED UP COULD NOT SEE AND STRONG SMELL OF ANTIFREEZE. HAD NO PLACE TO PULL OVER. A GOOD THING MY WIFE WAS IN PASSENGER SEAT SHE TOOK OFF HER COAT AND KEPT THE WINDSHIELD CLEAR TILL I COULD EXIT THE HIGHWAY. TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE HEATER CORE WAS LEAKING. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A BAD ACCIDENT IF WE DID NOT ACT QUICKLY. *TR

THE FAILURE BEGAN THREE WEEKS AGO. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RELATED RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND AGREED TO PAY FOR THE PARTS BUT NOT THE LABOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 42,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 41,600.
GASOLINE GAUGE IS NOT DISPLAYING ACCURATE AMOUNT OF GASOLINE. *TR
FUEL GAGE FAILS INTERMITTENTLY, CAN NOT TELL HOW MUCH FUEL YOU HAVE LEFT. I TRY NOT TO LET IT GO MUCH BELOW HALF FULL FOR FEAR OF RUNNING OUT OF GAS AND STALLING IN TRAFIC.
THE HIDDEN WELDMENT HOLDING THE REAR LIFTGATE STRUT BROKE CAUSING THE STRUT TO BECOME DISLODGED AND ALLOWING THE GATE TO VIOLENTLY FALL ON MY BACK, SHOULDERS AND HEAD. WHILE PAINFUL FOR ME THIS COULD HAVE CATASTROPHIC IMPACT ON A CHILD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A GM DEALER WHO SAID THEY COULDN'T REPAIR THIS AND SUGGEST I TALK TO A BODY SHOP. *TR
THE GAS GAUGE ON MY 2007 ENVOY HAS BEEN ACTING VERY ERRATIC LATELY. EACH TIME I FILL MY GAS TANK, THE GAUGE REMAINS AT EMPTY FOR MAYBE A DAY OR SO. EVENTUALLY IT GOES FROM EMPTY TO FULL AND BACK TO EMPTY SEVERAL MORE TIMES. SOONER OR LATER IT WILL REMAIN IN THE FULL POSITION AND SEEMS TO ACT NORMALLY. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON FOR A DAY OR TWO AND FINALLY GOES OUT. THAT SEEMS TO HAPPEN AFTER I FILL MY GAS TANK. NOBODY AT THE DEALERSHIP SEEMS TO BE AWARE OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL GAUGE IN THE ENVOY. BUT AFTER READING A FEW OF THE COMPLAINTS TO THIS WEBSITE, I REALIZE THERE IS A PROBLEM THAT GENERAL MOTORS DOES NOT WANT TO ADDRESS. *TR

WEATHER IS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS AND I PARKED MY 2007 ENVOY DENALI IN MY DRIVE. I DON'T HAVE A GARAGE SO IT SITS OUT IN THE EXTREME HEAT ADD COLD. I THOUGHT I HEARD A NOISE OUTSIDE AND WHEN I LOOKED OUT MY REAR WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. NOTHING HIT IT, NOBODY WAS DOWN OUR ISOLATED LANE, IT JUST DECIDED TO FAIL. I LOOKED ONLINE AND THERE ARE OTHER OWNERS MENTIONING SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH ENVOYS AND TRAILBLAZERS OVER THE YEARS. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE VEHICLES OVER MY 54 YEARS AND I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A REAR WINDOW EXPLODING ON IT'S OWN. TO CUT TO THE CHASE MY VEHICLE WAS 9 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT I DID GET SOME MONEY FROM THE GM REP AND THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT WAS $850 AND I WAS ASKED TO CHIP IN $200. I THINK THIS IS DIFFERENT THAN TIRES OR BRAKES WEARING OUT WITH TIME AND I THOUGHT THEY SHOULD COMPLETELY COVER THE WINDOW FAILURE. I AM CONCERNED THAT IN ANOTHER FEW YEARS I COULD HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BECAUSE MY CAR SITS OUT IN THE ELEMENTS. IT WAS A MESS BUT I COULDN'T HELP BUT THINK OF THE INCONVENIENCE AND PROBLEMS I COULD HAVE HAD IF IT FAILED WHILE TRAVELING OR ON VACATION. THE SECURITY OF THE VEHICLE WAS COMPROMISED WITH THE REAR WINDOW COMPLETELY GONE AND NO ALARM WHEN THE BREAK OCCURRED. FORTUNATELY I WAS HOME AND COULD KEEP OUT THE ELEMENTS BEFORE I COULD GET IT REPAIRED. I FEEL MY DEALER DID WHAT THEY COULD, BUT I THINK IN THIS CASE GM SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE. *TR

WHEN GASOLINE WAS ADDED TO ITS CAPACITY THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED THAT IT WAS EMPTY. THE DEALER STATED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ON THE VEHICLE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT FEELS THAT WAS A SAFETY DEFECT BY THE MANUFACTURER BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAS SO FEW MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 31,000.

2007 GMC ENVOY GAS GAUGE QUIT WORKING SO I DON'T KNOW WHEN OR HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE IN THE CAR. THEN OTHER DAY I RAN OUT OF GAS LUCKILY I WAS CLOSE TO HOME. *TR
FUEL GAUGE READS INCORRECTLY AND SHOWS INCORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL INTERMITTENTLY. VERY DISTRACTING AND UNSAFE WHEN YOU ARE NOT SURE HOW MUCH FUEL YOU ACTUALLY HAVE. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR SOME TIME, AND THE DEALER HAS INDICATED IT CAN'T MAKE A REPAIR BECAUSE GENERAL MOTORS DOESN'T CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN IN OCTOBER, 2010 AND CONTINUES BECAUSE OF THE COST TO MAKE REPAIRS. THE DEALER INDICATES A PARTS COST OF $500 PLUS LABOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ENVOY 360. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TIRE PRESSURE AND AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE ENGINE WAS LEAKING OIL AND ALL FOUR TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS FAILED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES FOR REPAIR. THERE WERE SEVERAL REPAIRS MADE TO THE VEHICLE INCLUDING THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION SLIP YOKE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECTS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
AROUND 65,000 MILES THE FUEL GAUGE CONSISTENTLY FLUCTUATED WHILE DRIVING AND NOW NO LONGER WORKS. THIS RESULTED IN ME BEING STRANDED IN A MALL PARKING LOT WITH NO IDEA WHY MY CAR WAS NOT WORKING. I GOT INTO MY CAR AND TRIED TO START IT WITH NO SUCCESS. THE DEALER SAID MY FUEL SENSOR WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AND SINCE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CHARGES. I HAVE NOT FIXED THE GAUGE YET SO I HAVE TO REFILL MY TANK EVERY 250 MILES SO I DON'T STALL WHILE DRIVING. I DO A LOT OF HIGHWAY DRIVING DUE TO MY LONG COMMUTE AND IT IS QUITE STRESSFUL TO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE! *TR
GMC ENVOY FUEL GAUGE GOES TO EMPTY AT APPROXIMATELY A HALF-FULL TANK. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME IT FALLS TO A HALF TANK. I HAVE TO RESET THE ODOMETER, SO I KNOW WHEN I AM TRULY GETTING NEAR EMPTY. THIS STARTED AROUND THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST. I'VE CALLED GM & THEY WANT ME TO PAY $100 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WHEN GOOGLING THE PROBLEM THERE ARE MANY ENVOYS & TRAILBLAZER POSTS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR DIAGNOSIS. *TR
FAULTY FUEL GAUGE. WILL GO TO FULL THEN BACK TO EMPTY AND STAY AT EMPTY JUST AFTER FILLING TANK. SOMETIMES WILL GO BACK OVER TO FULL. PROBLEM ALSO CAUSING OBD TO TURN ON CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. GMC SEEMS TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THEIR FUEL SYSTEM, I CONTACTED THEM WHEN MY GAS GUAGE STARTED ACTING ERRACTILY, WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO DEALER AND PAY 100.00 FOR DIAGNOSIS, I SAID THE PROBLEM IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET, SHE SAID SHE WASNT AWARE. THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE HAVING THIS PROBLEM FOR THEM TO BE SAYING THEY DONT KNOW IT. MY HUSBAND HAS CANCER AND HE CANNOT TAKE A CHANCE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM, THE ONLY TIME YOU KNOW IT HAS GAS IN IT IS WHEN YOU FILL IT UP! PLEASE HELP US GET THIS RESOLVED, I HAVE A GMC JIMMY PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY THAT HAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!
FUEL GAGE HAS BEEN GOING OFF AND ON ALL YEAR. NOW IS SITS ON EMPTY A LOT. THE BELL GOES OFF TO REMIND ME IT IS EMPTY OFTEN, WHEN THAT IS NOT THE CASE. I HAVE TO USE MY ODOMETER TO KNOW WHEN TO GET GAS. VERY FRUSTRATED WITH GMC ON THIS. SAID SENSOR WOULD COST IN EXCESS OF $500 TO REPAIR. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. THEN I GET THIS LETTER INDICATING THAT GMC IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL GAGE IN ENVOYS; AND THEY STILL WANT ME TO PAY $250 FOR HALF OF THEIR PROBLEM. SOUNDS A LITTLE ONE SIDED TO ME. MOST COMPANIES OFFER TO CORRECT THEIR MISTAKES AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE, AND CERTAINLY NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CUSTOMER. SEEMS TO ME THAT GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICES WOULD BE THE WAY TO GO. SURELY TO GOODNESS THE PRESIDENT OF GMC WOULD HAVE THE COMMON SENSE TO KNOW THAT TOO MANY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMERS COULD POTENTIALLY RESULT IN A SIGNIFICANT DROP OF SALES. . *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAGE WAS PROVIDING INACCURATE FUEL LEVEL READINGS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. ABOUT ONE MONTH AGO, AFTER I FILLED THE GAS TANK IN MY 2007 GMC ENVOY, THE GAS METER WOULD SHIFT FROM F TO E AS I WAS DRIVING AND THE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. I WOULD PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON. AT THAT TIME, THE METER WOULD RAISE BACK UP TO THE F BUT AS I AM DRIVING AGAIN, IT WOULD DROP BACK DOWN AND THE EMPTY INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD COME ON AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR A MONTH NOW AND I WAS EVEN STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ONCE, NJDOT CAME TO GIVE ME GAS, THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM, AND THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT START. HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO A GAS STATION, WHERE IT THEN STARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME. THE CAR ALSO HESITATES (DRAGS) WHEN I'M TRYING TO GIVE IT GAS, AS IF IT'S GOING TO CUT OFF. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A CLOGGED FUEL LINE AND WILL HAVE IT CHECKED BUT THIS CAN COST ME $600-800 THAT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THESE TRUCKS. I HAVE READ MANY STORIES FROM OTHERS WHO HAVE THE SAME VEHICLE. *TR
FUEL GAUGE READING IS ERRATIC AND PROVIDES FALSE INFORMATION. AS OF 6/1/2011, THE GAUGE BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN FUEL LOW AND FULL. BEING TOLD ENTIRE SENDING UNIT REQUIRES REPLACEMENT AND PARTS/LABOR COST IS $750. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,000.

AFTER PURCHASING A SUPPOSED "CERTIFIED PRE OWNED" GMC 2007 ENVOY, THE GAS GAUGE HAS GONE BAD WHICH IS CAUSING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO REMAIN ON LESS THAN 1 YR AFTER PURCHASE. THIS PROBLEM IS CAUSING AN AUTOMATIC FAILURE IN NY DMV VEHICLE YEARLY INSPECTION. AFTER TAKING THIS TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC AND PLUGGING IN THE OBD,HE INFORMED ME THAT THIS HAS BECOME A MAJOR ISSUE. THE FUEL SENDING UNIT HAS TO BE REPLACED. THE COST OF REPLACEMENT IS OUTRAGEOUS FOR A VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED FOR LESS THAN 1 YR. I HAVE A 2007 GMC ENVOY SLT WITH 49,000 MILES, STILL OWE $6000 AND FUEL GAUGE READS CONSTANT EMPTY. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT TO CHANGE A FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, THAT THE GAS TANK WOULD HAVE TO BE DROPPED AND SENSOR REPLACED @ $91.00 PER HOUR PLUS PARTS. I FEEL THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I TRAVEL TO ALOT OF UNKNOWN LOCATIONS INCLUDING HIGH CRIME AREAS OF BALTIMORE CITY TO COMPLETE REAL ESTATE APPRAISALS. I HAVE ACTUALLY WITNESS DRUG DEALS TAKE PLACE LESS THAN 100 FEET FROM MY VEHICLE. IF I RUN OUT OF GAS IN ONE OF THESE UNDESIRABLE LOCATIONS DEATH IS NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION, AT A MINIMUM THERE WOULD CERTAINLY BE ROBBERY AND ASSAULT. I WAS DRIVING ON I-95 AND MY CAR STARTED TO SEND MESSAGE 'FUEL LEVEL IS LOW' AND FUEL GAGE SHOW 'EMPTY TANK', BUT I HAVE A FULL TANK OF GAS! I MADE AN EMERGENCY STOP ON I-95, WHICH CREATES A BACK UP TRAFFIC AND NOT SAFETY DRIVING CONDITIONS FOR OTHER DRIVERS. RIGHT NOW I DRIVING WITH THAT PROBLEM AND LET ME TELL YOU, IT IS 'NIGHTMARE'. 'FUEL LEVEL LOW' SIGNAL DISTURBING OPERATION OF THE CAR, YOU HAVE TO PRESS CONTROLS BUTTON ON STEERING WHEEL AND ALWAYS CHECK 'HOW MANY MILES YOU DROVE ALREADY', BUT IF MILEAGE COUNTER WILL BE WORKING OR YOU FORGET TO 'RESET', YOU CAN STOP IMMEDIATELY ON HIGHWAY AND CREATE BADLY ACCIDENT. *TR
AT 38,000 MILES ON THE MY SUV MY GAUGE STOPPED WORKING, AND RAN OUT OF GAS TWO TIMES. I'VE HAD TO KEEP AN EYE ON HOW MANY MILES I DRIVE AND FILL IT UP EVERY 250-300 MILES. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
