I HAVE A 2002 GMC TRUCK. AT 38,000 MILES THE CLUTCH WENT OUT COMPLETELY. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THE CLUTCH PLATE WAS OK BUT THE 2 HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
MY TRUCK IS A 2002 GMC SIERRA, AND IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS THE ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM RECALL. I WAS TOLD THAT SINCE I DON'T LIVE IN THE EASTERN STATES THAT I DON'T FALL INTO THE RECALL. IT IS HAVING PURGING PROBLEMS ON THE ANTILOCK, AND IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH STOPPING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS, THE BRAKES DON'T SEEM TO WANT TO STOP IT. *NM
DT: CALLER COMPLAINED ABOUT TRANSMISSION FAILURE. WHILE PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN HEARD A NOISE AND COULD NOT GET VEHICLE TO MOVE. FINALLY, GOT IT OFF THE ROAD, BUT WAS UNABLE TO MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARD. CALLER SAID THE ORIGINAL OWNER HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. MANUFACTURER WANTED DEALER TO EVALUATE THE PROBLEM AND CALL THEM BACK, AND FOR THE CALLER TO PAY FOR REPAIRS. . DEALER HAD NOT COME SEEN THE VEHICLE. *AK
I HAVE A 2002 GMC SIERRA 1500 EXTENDED CAB TRUCK WITH FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT TIRES WHICH CAME WITH THE VEHICLE. ABOUT 12:15 AM I WAS DRIVING EASTBOUND ON I-70 JUST WEST OF JUNCTION CITY WHEN I HEARD A LOUD SOUND FROM THE REAR OF MY TRUCK, AND WAS BARELY ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL. AT THIS POINT IT WAS ABOUT 85F, BUT FOR A GOOD PART OF THE DAY I HAD BEEN DRIVING IN 100+F HEAT (SINCE ABOUT 5 PM, WITH A BREAK IN DRIVING FROM ABOUT 8:30 PM TO 10:30 PM). I PULLED OVER, AND FOUND THAT THE TREADS FROM MY LEFT REAR TIRE HAD COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE SIDEWALL. I PUT THE SPARE TIRE ON AND DROVE THE REST OF THE WAY HOME (ABOUT 150 MILES). RIGHT NOW MY TIRE IS IN 3 PIECES: 2 SIDEWALLS STILL ON THE RIM, AND THE TREAD IS A SEPARATE PIECE, STILL IN A COMPLETE CIRCLE. FORTUNATELY I THINK THE DAMAGE IS LIMITED TO THE TIRE (WHICH MEANS I'M GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES), AND POSSIBLY THE RIM OF THE ONE TIRE. RIGHT NOW I HAVE ALL THE PARTS, AND WILL TRY AND KEEP THEM WHEN I HAVE THE TIRES REPLACED.
DT: CONTACT STATED THE PARKING BRAKE BANDS DRAGGED ON THE HUB OF THE REAR WHEEL EVEN THOUGH THE PARKING BRAKE WAS NOT BEING USED. CONSUMER HEARD A GRINDING NOISE, AND WHEN HE TOOK THE CAR INTO THE SERVICE DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD HIM THE HUBS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. GMC INVESTIGATED TRUCKS WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS BUT NOT WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. HAD TO REPLACE THE HUBS ON 7-25-05. HAD 53,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. CONSUMER FELT THIS WAS A DEFECT AND WOULD LIKE TO FILE A SAFETY COMPLAINT. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME HE HAD THIS PROBLEM. *AK *JB
DT: 2002 GMC SIERRA. THE CONSUMER STATES THE ABS BRAKES STARTED PULSATING, AND CONSUMER'S VEHICLE HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS CAUSED THE BRAKES TO GO OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD HIM THE ABS SENSORS FAILED. THEY WERE CLEANED AND NOW THEY SEEM TO BE OKAY. THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT HAPPENED SINCE. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ON WHEN THIS HAPPENED. *AK *NM
HAVE 2002 GMC SIERRA AND THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES ARE FREEZING OR WORKING AT A SLOW SPEED OR A STOP. HAVE CALLED GARAGES AND THEY DON'T HAVE THE RECALL NUMBERS. SO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL RELEASED. HOW LONG MUST I WAIT!!! *JB
DT: 2002 GMC SIERRA. THE CONSUMER STATES THE STEERING SHAFT BOUNCED UP AND DOWN, IT WAS NOT CORRECTLY PUT IN. THIS CAUSED THE FRONT END BOUNCE FROM THE STEERING BOX TO THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN CORRECTED, BUT THE DEALERSHIP STATED THEY WERE HAVING A LOT OF THESE PROBLEMS. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER THOUGHT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT. ALSO, THE ROTORS A HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF THE SHAFT BOUNCING UP AND DOWN. THE RIGHT TIE ROD WAS ALSO REPLACED. THE PROBLEM WAS CONSTANT WITH THE VEHICLE.*AK
ANTI LOCK BRAKES WOULD ACTIVATE FOR FOR NO REASON AT ALL ONCE AND A WHILE AT SLOW SPEEDS CONDITION GOT WORSE UNTIL I COULD NOT STOP FOR A STOP SIGN AND ALSO HIT A CURB I HAD TO REMOVE THE FUSE TO DISABLE THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES TO AVOID A BAD CRASH.

DT: THE CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGING AT LOW SPEEDS OF 5-10 MPH, AND WHEN COMING TO A STOP , THE BRAKING WOULD GO AWAY COMPLETELY. THE CONSUMER HAD IT TEMPORALLY REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER HAD NOT CONTACTED THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS BOUGHT, BUT WAS PLANNING TO DO THAT. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE IS A 2002, GMC SIERRA PICKUP. THE CONSUMER HAS NOT CHECKED WITH GM ABOUT RECALL INFORMATION. *AK
WHEN YOU ARE GOING 3 TO 6 MILES PER HOUR GOING SLOW OR COMING TO A STOP THE ABS SYSTEM FAILS CAUSING THE BRAKES NOT TO WORK, YOU HAVE TO PUSH REALLY HARD ON THE PEDAL JUST TO GET IT TO SLOW DOWN. I,VE TALKED TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE GMC AND CHEVY PICK-UPS AND THEY HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.THIS IS SOMETHING THE SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY GM BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.I ALSO FOUND OUT TODAY THAT CANADA HAS ISSUSSED A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. DOES IT TAKE SOMEONE TO GET KILLED OR INJURED BE THE NHTSA DOES SOMETHING?
THE CONSUMER OWNS A 2002 GMC SIERRA IN WHICH THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ACTIVATE AT LOW SPEEDS INCREASING THE STOPPING DISTANCE. *MR GM WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM IN THE NORTHERN STATES THAT THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY CORROSION BY WINTER ROAD SALT. *SC *JB
SEE ATTACHED MEMORANDUM DATE JUNE 3, 2005 MEMO #06032005-1 FOR ITEMS (1), (2), AND (3) FOR ITEM (3) PARTS ON GMC TRUCK STILL EXIST AND ARE CURRENTLY SECURED ONLY BY A TIGHTENED WIRE HELD IN POSITION BY TURN STYLE TORQUE SYSTEM. DEFECTIVE SPARE TIRE ASSEMBLY BRACKET HOLD DOWN AND RELEASE SYSTEM. SYSTEM DESIGN PROVIDES FOR A POTENTIAL ROAD HAZARD SHOULD THE WIRE ASSEMBLY HOLD DOWN WIRE BECOMES CUT OR BROKEN WHEN AUTOMOBILE IS IN MOTION ON ANY HIGHWAY OPERATION. EXISTING PROBLEM DISCOVERED BY AAA SERVICE MAINTENANCE REPAIR SERVICE TO PUT 2002 GMC SIERRA TRUCK [XXX] BACK INTO OPERATION AFTER HIGHWAY TIRE FAILURE ON MAJOR I5 HIGHWAY IN OCEANSIDE CALIFORNIA. DAMAGE TO TIRES RESULTED IN RUPTURE OF LEFT REAR TIRE MANUFACTURED BY GENERAL TIRE. HASN'T FAILED YET, BUT THERE IS A RATTLE IN THE STEERING COLUM WHICH DEALER STATES IS NORMAL, SURE DOESN'T FEEL NORMAL TO ME. HAPPENS ANY TIME THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED. "WHILE DRIVING"
DT VEHICLE STALLS AND DOES NOT RESTART, IT COULD BE SITTING AN HOUR OR DAY AND IT WILL NOT RESTART. DEALER HAS HAD THE VEHICLE, AND THEY COULD NOT PIN POINT THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE DID NOT CAPTURE ANY CODES, AND IT STALLED WHILE ACTUALLY DRIVING . USED TO BE SEVERAL MILES BETWEEN STALLS IT HAD LONGER INTERVALS BETWEEN STALLS NOW ITS DOWN TO LESS THAN 100 MILES BETWEEN ENGINE STALLING. *AK.
CONSUMER STATED WHEN DRIVING SLOW THE ABS KICKED IN. IT CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO HAVE NO BRAKES. THE CONSUMER COULD HEAR THE ABS KICK IN AND NO HAD LIGHTS COME ON. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE SENSOR HAD FAILED AND SHE SHOULD CONTACT GM. *JB
DT: CONSUMER STATED BRAKE FAILURE RESULTED IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. TOOK TO A DEALER FOR THIS ISSUE 3 TIMES. DEALER'S GENERAL MANAGER SAID THERE WAS SOME TYPE OF PROBLEM BUT HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED IT. NO REPAIRS OR PARTS REPLACED. *AK ON OCT 18, 2004 THE REAR ROTORS WERE TURNED. EVEN AFTER THE ROTORS WERE TURNED THE BRAKES STILL PERFORMED POORLY. THE RIGHT FOG LIGHT FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING. *NM
BRAKE ABS SYSTEM IS ACTIVATING AT LOW SPEEDS. OFTEN WHEN I COME TO A STOP FROM 5-20MPH THE ABS SYSTEM ACTIVATES FOR NO REASON ON DRY, CLEAN ROADS. SEVERAL TIMES I'VE NARROWLY EXSCAPED AN ACCIDENT. THE TRUCK DOESN'T WANT TO STOP AT ALL WHEN THE ABS ACTIVATES.
LOW SPEED ANTI-LOCK ACTIVATION. *JB
DT: 2002 SIERRA GMC HAD ABS BRAKE PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE DID NOT COMING TO A STOP WHILE CONSUMER WAS AT THE GAS PUMP. WHEN VEHICLE OPERATED AT A SLOW SPEED THE ABS KICKED IN, MAKING STOPPING DIFFICULT. THE PROBLEM WAS ERRATIC. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH ABS SYSTEM. CONSUMER ALMOST WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH YESTERDAY BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. CONSUMER HAD NOT DONE ANYTHING TO CORRECT THIS, AND HAD BEEN IN CONTACT WITH GMC. THEY SAID NOT TO FIX IT, THAT THERE MIGHT BE A RECALL. *AK
DT: AT STATE INSPECTION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT REAR BRAKES WORE OUT PREMATURELY. HAD SINCE THEN REPLACED THE BRAKES. NO OTHER PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE.*AK
RIGHT REAR BRAKE OF 2002 GMC SIVERADO 2500HD DOES NOT RELEASE COMPLETELY. RIM GETS HOT AND BRAKES SMOKE. GM DEALER ON SECOND SERVICE PROBLEM INSTALLED COVERS OVER THE BRAKES TO KEEP ROAD GRIM OUT. THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. JUST DROPPED OFF TRUCK FOR THE THIRD TIME WITH THE SAME ISSUES AND THEY CAN NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. RIM IS DESTROYED DUE TO HEAT AND BRAKE DUST. TRUCK HAS 11,000 MILES ON IT
POSSIBLE BRAKE SPEED SENSOR FAILURE 2002 GMC SIERA DENALI PICKUP
THE MIRRORS ON MY GMC 1500 Z71 TRUCK KEEP BREAKING. I'VE ONLY TAKEN IT THROUGH THE CAR WASH, WHEN THE ATTENDENT FOLDS IN THE MIRRORS ON BOTH SIDES, WHEN FINISHED I FOLD THEM BACK AND THEN THEY BREAK. IT HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES AND THE COST IS $200 PER MIRROR. VERY UNREASONABLE FOR A MIRROR. I HAVE CALLED GM(CASE 1-328469134) AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANTTHING FOR ME.
ANTI LOCK BRAKES KICK IN AND VEHICLE DOESN'T STOP!
GMC SIERRA 2002 THE VEHICLE'S ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED WHILE BEING DRIVEN ON DRY PAVEMENT. *SC AS A RESULT I TOOK THE TRUCK CONSIDERABLE TIME AND DISTANCE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS BRAKING PROBLEM HAD BEEN OCCURRING REPEATEDLY OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS. *NM
2002 GMC SIERRA DEVELOPED SERIOUS BRAKE PROBLEMS.*MR WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE CALIPER FROZE. THIS RESULTED IN EXTREME HEAT AND CASUED THE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY TO COME APART. *NM
WHILE MY 17 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING, THE TRUCK SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND BRAKE CAPABILITY. MY SON WAS TRAVELING WITH HIS YOUNGER BROTHER AND A FRIEND IN THE VEHICLE. *AK
THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ON AND THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE AND WITHOUT WARNING THE VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN THE STREET AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ON THE PARKING BRAKES DUE TO WEAR AND TEAR. *AK
STEADY BRAKING PERFORMANCE DEGRADATION SINCE NEW, IN CONJUCTION WITH PREMATURE REAR BRAKE FAILURE @ 28000 MI (2.5 YRS OLD), WHILE FRONT BRAKES STILL HAD OVER 50% REMAINING PAD LIFE. DEALER STATED THAT REAR ROTOR RUST CAUSED REAR PAD FAILURE. INSPECTION OF REAR PADS INDICATE OTHER PROBLEMS-UNEVEN FRONT TO REAR WEAR ON LR INNER PAD .018" -.044", WHILE LR OUTER PAD HAD NO BRAKE MATERIAL LEFT. RR OUTER PAD HAD SLIGHT GROOVING ACROSS TOP WITH THICKNESS BETWEEN .110-.118", RR INNER PAD HAD GROOVING TOP AND BOTTOM, WITH BETWEEN .122-.151" THICKNESS PAD MATERIAL LEFT. *AK
DT: THE FRONT AND REAR ROTORS FELL APART. THE MECHANIC HAD TO REPLACE THE ROTORS AT 47,000 MILES. HE SAID IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL. THE CONSUMER SENT LETTERS TO GMC AND THEY ARE RETURNING LETTERS. *AK *JB
2002 GMC SIERRA EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE.*MR THE VEHICLE'S FRONT END BOUNCED AND MADE NOISE. IT WAS LATER DETERMINED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS A FAULTY DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT HUB BEARING ASSEMBLY. AFTER MANY PHONE CALLS AND LETTER THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A CHECK FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE CHECK COVERED THE PART NOT THE LABOR. THE CONSUMER WANTS TO KNOW WHY THIS PART WAS RECALLED IN CANADA BUT NOT IN THE US. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE IN GEAR OR IN THE IDLE POSITION. THIS WAS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM FOR OVER ONE AND A HALF YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SERVICE DEALER IN APRIL AS WELL, AND THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE IDENTIFIED.
FACTORY INSTALLED DELCO BATTERY STARTED TO LEAK BATTERY ACID FROM POSITIVE TERMINAL. *NM
VEHICLE IS A 2002 GMC 6.0L 2500HD SIERRA TRUCK. IT HAS THE GM HYDROBOOST BRAKING SYSTEM (BRAKE ASSIST IS FROM THE POWER STEERING PUMP). THE PRESSURE LINE RUNNING FROM THE BRAKE BOOSTER TO THE STEERING RACK WAS INCORRECTLY ROUTED, RESULTING IN A VERY SHARP BEND IN THE FLEXIBLE PART OF HOSE. THE HOSE CRACKED AT THIS POINT, AND LEAKED SOME. THE FAILURE WAS CAUGHT EARLY, AND THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OR FIRE. HOWEVER, IF THIS LEAK HAD NOT BEEN NOTICED, AT SOME POINT ALL POWER ASSIST BRAKING AND STEERING COULD HAVE BEEN LOST. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE INCORRECT ROUTING, AND THE OLD HOSE IF NEEDED.*AK
I TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY TRUCK (50,000 MILES) NEEDED NEW FRONT ROTORS BECAUSE MINE WERE "DE-LAMINATED" I ASKED HOW THIS COULD HAPPEN AND THE MECHANIC COULD NOT GIVE ME A CLEAR ANSWER. THE GM ASSISTANCE CENTER TOLD ME THAT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD THEM THE REASON FOR THIS WAS I REFUSED SOME DEALER RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE, ALTHOUGH THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. I SPOKE TO A METALURGIST AND HE STATED THE PROBLEM WAS MOST LIKELY FROM THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS CAUSED BY NOT COOLING THE ROTORS PROPERLY AFTER THE WERE CAST, SINCE BOTH ROTORS ARE ONLY DEFECTIVE ON THE INSIDE FACE. I ALSO OWN A 1990 CHEVY TRUCK WITH 270,000 MILES THAT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL ROTORS. I AM AFRAID THIS DEFECT COULD CAUSE AN OCCURRENCE OF BRAKE FAILURE AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE TRUCK UNDER HIGHWAY CONDITIONS. ALSO, AFTER ASKING NUMEROUS OTHERS, NO ONE (OTHER THAN GM) HAS HEARD OF THIS PHENOMENON. *NM
2002 GMC SIERRA ANTI LOCK BRAKES ENGAGED WHEN CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO STOP. *MR ON ANOTHER OCCASION THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES WOULD NOT ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO STOP. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE VEHICLES HUB ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NEEDED REPLACED. THERE WAS NO LIGHT INDICATION. RUST WOULD GET UNDER THE SENSORS AND LIFT THEM. *SC
FRONT SUSPENSION/ STEERING 'RATTLES' EXCESSIVELY WHEN IN A TURN AND ROAD ROUGH TO THE POINT I MUST ACCOMMODATE IT IN HOW I DRIVEN TURNS. THE RATTLE ALMOST GOES AWAY AFTER THE FRONT SUSPENSION IS LUBED BUT IS BACK IN ABOUT 500 MILES OF DRIVING. *JB
THE DISC BRAKE PADS JAM AND FAIL TO MAKE PROPER CONTACT WITH THE ROTORS WHEN DIRT GETS IN THE AREA THAT THE BRAKE PADS RIDE ON 'RUNNERS (STAINLESS STEEL SHEET METAL COVERS THE MOUNTING FRAME WHERE IT RIDES . THE CLEARANCE IS SO CLOSE AND ROAD IT WILL JAM THE PADS. THIS REQUIRES DISASSEMBLY OF ALL OF THE BRAKE CALIPER AND GRINDING OF THE ROTOR FREQUENTLY. THE PADS NOT PRESSING ON THE ROTORS PROPERLY ALLOW THE ROTOR TO RUST FURTHER DEGRADING THE BRAKE PERFORMANCE AND CAUSES UNEVEN BRAKING AND GREATLY INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE -- I HAVE HAD TO OVERHAUL THE BRAKES THREE TIMES AND THE REPAIR MECHANIC SAYS ALL GM TRUCKS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM
DT: CONSUMER HEARD SOMETHING POP PING AND FELL INTO THE STREET. CONSUMER HAD NO BRAKES IN THE REAR. IN THE FRONT THE BRAKE DISC WAS BADLY PITTED BECAUSE OF THE POOR QUALITY OF ALLOY. CONSUMER WAS DRIVING UP TO A STOP, TRYING STOP, WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED. CONSUMER SAILED ON THROUGH THE STOP SIGN. THE FRONT BRAKES WERE GRINDING DUE TO THE METAL ON THE DISC. THE CONSUMER HAD TO REPLACE WITH A WHOLE NEW BRAKING SYSTEM WITH AFTERMARKET PRODUCTS. CONSUMER DID NOT FEEL SAFE WITH THE GM BRAKES. THIS HAPPENED ALL OF A SUDDEN, THERE WERE NO PRIOR PROBLEMS. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 8,000 MILES ON IT. THIS HAPPENED WHILE SLOWING DOWN BETWEEN 10 AND 15 MPH.*AK

WHILE DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET TO 70 MPH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 90 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE DISENGAGED THE CRUISE CONTROL, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS THROWN INTO NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO SLOW IT DOWN. RUSTED ANTI LOCK BRAKES ARE WEARING OUT HUBCAPS AND BRAKE ASSEMBLY. CONSUMER WILL NEED TO TAKE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP TO BE REPLACED. *AK *SB THE FRONT BRAKES WORE OUT AND DAMAGE ON ROTOR. THE FRONT BRAKE PADS AND RIGHT ROTOR WERE REPLACED. THE REAR BRAKES WORE OUT. THE REAR PADS WERE REPLACED AND THE ROTORS WERE RESURFACED. *NM

SPEED SENSORS IN THE FRONT WHEEL OF MY 2002 GMC 2WD TRUCK HAVE FAILED EVERY DECEMBER FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS THE FIRST TIME I PAID TO HAVE IT FIXED THE SECOND TIME IT WAS FIXED ON A RECALL THE THIRD AND FORTH TIME IT WAS FIXED BY MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AT GMC AND TALKED TO A STEVIE SNAY ON TWO OCCASIONS. FIRST SHE TOLD ME SHE WOULD DO SOME CHECKING AND GET BACK TO ME. WHEN SHE CALLED ME BACK SHE TOLD ME THAT GM WOULD NOT COVER ANY OF MY EXPENSES. THEN SHE SUGGESTED THAT I PURCHASE A NEW WARRANTY. I FEEL THAT I HAVE BEEN MORE THAN PATIENT WITH THEM ON THIS MATTER AND FEEL THAT SINCE THIS IS A FACTORY DEFECT ON AN MVSS PART THAT THEY SHOULD COVER MY COSTS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT 5 MPHTHE ANTILOCK BRAKES (ABS) MALFUNCTIONED AND VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. CONSUMER CALLED THE DEALER, AND WAS INFORMED THERE WAS FLAW WITH THE ABS. *AK *NM
WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CONSUMER NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD AND FROM THE VENTS. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND PULLED OVER. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
ABS SYSTEM FAILED, SENSOR FAULTY CAUSING ABS TO ENGAGE AT 3-4 MPH, PREVENTING VEHICLE FROM COMING TO A STOP EASILY. *BF THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT ALL FOUR ROTORS WERE RUSTED TO THE POINT OF NECESSARY REPLACEMENT. *TC
