I HAVE A 2004 GMC SIERRA AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY AIRBAG LIGHT AND ABS LIGHT CAME ON TOOK IT IN TO HAVE IT LOOKED AND THE AIRBAGS ARE NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THE SENSOR AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO GO MORE IN DEPTH ON THE ABS BUT TO GO MORE IN DEPTH THEY CHARGE $80.00 AN HOUR JUST TO BE ABLE TO FIGURE IT OUT. I HAVE SEEN SIMILAR RESPONSES ON THE AIRBAG LIGHT FOR THIS VEHICLE PLEASE HELP.
AIR BAG SENSOR ICON STAYS ON SHOWING A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG. DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS OTHER THAN THE AIR BAG IS CONTINUALLY OFF NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE OVER THE TIRE. THERE WAS NO PRE-BRAKING BEFORE THE IMPACT. THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. ALTHOUGH ALL OCCUPANTS WERE WEARING THEIR SEATBELTS, THERE WERE TWO OCCUPANTS INJURIED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO SENSOR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TRUCK. PICTURES WERE TAKEN AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED.

ACCORDING TO THE TRAFFIC OFFICER CONTACT'S VEHICLE HE HIT A TREE AND A BRANCH FELL DOWN AND HIT THE TOP OF VEHICLE CAB. THE CONTACT WAS WEARING SEAT BELT, AND WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A NECK INJURY.*AK
