DT: CONTACT STATES THE BRAKES HAVE A VERY SOFT PEDAL. IT DOESN'T SEEM THAT THE ANTI- LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM IS WORKING. TO MAKE THE VEHICLE STOP THE PEDAL HAS TO BE PRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE SERVICE DEALER STATES THIS IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE. THE WEATHER CONDITIONS HAVE NO INFLUENCE ON THE BRAKING CAPABILITY OF THE VEHICLE. 7-11-2005 REPLACED INTERMEDIATE SHAFT AT 13620 MILES, 9-26-2007 52271 REPLACED INTERMEDIATE SHAFT, 59639 REPLACED RIGHT INNER TIE ROD AND RACK-RACK GEAR LEAKING, 59993 REPLACED LOWER BEARING STEERING COLUMN, 71159 REPLACED RACK-RACK SEAL RUPTURE, 82910 REPLACED INTERMEDIATE SHAFT-STEERING SHAFT-AND LOWER BEARING COLUMN. THERE'S EITHER SOMETHING WRONG WITH THERE PARTS OR THEY WAY THEY BUILD THERE VEHICLES. I'VE OWNED SEVERAL GM VEHICLES AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE HAVE MULTIPLE PROBLEMS.*TR
ON 7/10/05, WHILE PULLING MY CAMPER, WHICH IS A 04 GMC 2500HD, BOUGHT NEW TO PULL THIS CAMPER, I EXPERIENCED A FLAT R/R TIRE WITH-IN 40 MILES ON THE TRUCK. ON 7/11/04 I EXPERIENCED 2 FLAT TIRES ON THIS TRUCK DUE TO DEFECTIVE VALVE STEMS. AFTER CHECKING WITH OTHER CHEVROLET/GMC OWNERS AT CAMPGROUNDS, THERE IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE RUBBER VALVE STEMS. I ENDED UP HAVING TO HAVE STEEL VALVE STEMS INSTALLED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD DUE TO TIRE FAILURE AND REPLACING TWO TIRES THAT ONLY HAD 13,500 MILES ON THEM. THE SERVICE REPAIRMAN EXPLAINED THAT DUE TO HEAT BUILDUP ON THE TIRES, THE RUBBER VALVE STEMS WILL NOT ACCEPT THE HEAT, AND FAIL. I HAD THREE FAILURES IN TWO DAYS DUE TO THIS, WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND INJURY
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC SIERRA DORMAX DIESEL (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS PRODUCE WHITE SMOKE. OCASSIONALLY, THE VEHICLE BECOMES DIFFICULT TO START. THE CONTACT SERVICED THE INJECTORS EVERY 10,000 MILES, BUT THE FAILURE IS PERSISTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY KEPT REPLACING THE INJECTORS, BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
2004 GMC 1500 DEVELOPED PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE EQUIPMENT.*MR THE CONSUMER WENT TO FOUR DIFFERENT DEALERS WHO ALL ADMITTED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. *JB
I NOTICE THE PARKING BRAKE LOSING IS CAPACITY TO BRAKE PROPERLY. I WAS MINOR AT FIRST THE ONE DAY IT JUST QUITE WORKING PROPERLY. I WASN'T AWARE OF A RECALL ON IT AT THE TIME. I TOOK IT INTO A DICK KEFFER IN CHARLOTTE. THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE PARKING BREAK. I'VE ALSO TALKED TO GMC ABOUT THIS. GMC SAYS THERE IS A RECALL ON MY TRUCK BUT WOULDN'T FIX IT BECAUSE THE DEALER SAYS THERE'S NOTHING WRONG. I DO KNOW THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG. MY TRUCK IS A 2004 GMC SIERRA CREW CAB LONG BOX.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MALFUNCTION. TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THE ONLY GAUGES WORKING PROPERLY ARE THE TACHOMETER AND FUEL GAUGE. IT BEGAN WITH INTERMITTENT SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTION. TOOK IT IN AS WARRANTY WORK BUT THE SERVICE DEPT. COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED THE ISSUE RESURFACED. I ASKED ABOUT ANY RECALLS OR COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE CLUSTER GAUGES MALFUNCTIONING AT EVERY VISIT FOR SERVICE. NO RECALLS OR COMPLAINTS RECEIVED ACCORDING TO THEM. DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE SUBJECT. FOUND A FEW SIMILAR COMPLAINTS IN BLOGS BUT NO ACTION FROM GM. THE PROBLEM BEGAN TO CASCADE AND SOON ALL GAUGES EXCEPT FOR THE TACH AND FUEL BEGAN TO FAIL. NOT FIX AS OF YET. GM HAS A NOTICE OUT ON IT BUT REFUSES TO REPAIR MY TRUCK DUE TO HAVING TOO MANY MILES. THEY EVEN FOUND DOCUMENTATION AT THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT. FOR THE ORIGINAL SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTION BUT THEY STATE IT WASN'T A STRONG ENOUGH COMPLAINT. *TR
THE INJECTORS ON MY 2004 GMC SIERRA WENT OUT AT 26,000 MILES. THE INCIDENT CAUSED ME TO LOSE MY TRUCK FOR 4 DAYS. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED ALL 8 INJECTORS.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WRONG LUBRICATING GREASE WAS APPLIED TO THE STEERING COLUMN. THEY REPLACED THE GREASE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO YEARS LATER. AS OF OCTOBER 17, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
DT: WHILE DRIVING AND APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, CONSUMER HIT THE BRAKES AND THE ABS ACTIVATED AS IF THERE WERE NO BRAKES. CONSUMER HAD TO LET OFF AGAIN AND PUSH BRAKES AGAIN TO STOP. BY THAT TIME VEHICLE HAD ROLLED OUT IN THE ROAD PAST THE STOP SIGN. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAD HAPPENED. NO REPAIR WORK PERFORMED. PROBABLY WAS UNDER 10 MPH WHEN ABS ACTIVATED. *TT
SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYS ERRONEOUS READINGS, NEVER CORRECT. *NM
DT: PURCHASED VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER 2003, AND ON 12-22-03 HAD A MINOR ACCIDENT. THIS OCCURRED AT A LOW SPEED AT WHICH CONSUMER TAPPED ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM BEHIND. TOOK VEHICLE TO A DEALER. HE CHECKED THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICIANS VIA COMPUTER, BUT THE CODES CHECKED OUT AS WELL AS A TEST DRIVE AND INSPECTION FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THIS CHECKED OUT AS ADEQUATE, NO PROBLEMS FOUND. ABOUT 2 MONTHS LATER, EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR ACCIDENT. CONSUMER CALLED GM TO INQUIRE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. AGAIN TAKEN TO DEALER, AND NO PROBLEM FOUND. 5-7-05 EXPERIENCED ANOTHER ACCIDENT THAT RESULTED IN 3 INJURIES. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED AS CONSUMER WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION FROM ABOUT A DISTANCE OF 60 FEET AND TRAVELING ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN APPLIED BRAKE FAILURE AND SUFFERED A COMPLETE FAILURE WITH NO BRAKES AT ALL. "BRAKES WOULD NOT EVEN GRAB." GLIDED THROUGH INTERSECTION STRIKING ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT RESULTED IN 3 INJURIES. TOOK TO DEALER WHO CHECKED VEHICLE AND AGAIN FOUND NOTHING WRONG YET CONSUMER FEELS AS THOUGH BRAKES ARE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. *AK
THE CONSUMER HAD THE TRUCK FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR AND THERE HAVE BEEN 6 RECALLS AND HE HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF ANY OF THESE RECALLS. THE CONSUMER IS STILL DRIVING VEHICLE. *JB
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES THE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR. DRIVER NOTICED THAT THE PEDAL WAS HARD, AND VEHICLE WOULD STOP ON ITS OWN. DRIVER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT DISC BRAKES AND POWER BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
WHEN EXAMINING THE TIRES WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED DRIVER NOTICED THAT THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE TIRES HAD TREAD SEPARATION FROM THE INNER AND OUTER SIDE OF THE TIRES. DRIVER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. GENERAL TIRES AMERICIAN TRAC P25570R16. *AK
POWER STEERING FADED AT HIGH SPEED. THIS WAS CAUSED BY THE STEERING ROTATION SENSOR. CONSUMER HAD TO PUT PRESSURE ON THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN THE POWER STEERING KICKED BACK IN VEHICLE VEERED OFF THE HIGHWAY FROM TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON THE STEERING WHEEL.*AK A NORMAL STEERING ROTATION SENOR WILL FADE OUT POWER STEERING AT HIGH SPEEDS SO YOU HAVE BETTER FEEL OF THE ROAD. AS SPEED DECREASES THE STEERING SHOULD ONCE AGAIN BECOME EASY WHEN SPEED DECREASES. PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT, THE STEERING WOULD BE HARD AT LOW SPEEDS AND WHILE YOU ARE APPLYING A LOT OF PRESSURE TO MAKE A TURN THE POWER STEERING WOULD SUDDENLY COME BACK ON CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO PULL THE TRUCK OFF THE ROAD OR OVER THE YELLOW LINE. CONSUMER TALKED TO SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL TRUCK. *BF
DT: THE CONTACT OWNED A 2004 GMC SIERRA 1500. HE STATED THAT VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHILE TRAVELING 40 MPH. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ACCORDING TO THE TRAFFIC OFFICER CONTACT'S VEHICLE HE HIT A TREE AND A BRANCH FELL DOWN AND HIT THE TOP OF VEHICLE CAB. THE CONTACT WAS WEARING SEAT BELT, AND WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A NECK INJURY.*AK
CONSUMER STATES: SET 2 YR OLD SON IN PASSENGER SEAT TOOK KEYS OUT OF SEAT LAID IN CONSOLE, CHILD STUCK KEY IN SWITCH TURNED ENOUGH TO TURN ON GEARS WITHOUT TOUCHING BRAKING. TALK TO GM SAID THEY WERE DESIGNED
WHILE DRIVING THE SIDEVIEW MIRROR FOLDS INWARD . THE OWNER'S MANUAL STATED THAT THIS WAS A NORMAL PROCEDURE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH CONSUMER LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKING CONTROL. CONSUMER MANAGED TO PULL OVER, AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK CONSUMER STATES HE STEPPED ONTO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONSUMER IMMEDIATELY LOST BRAKES AND STEERING AND SMOKE ALSO POURED FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. ONCE HE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED THE CONSUMER EXITED THE VEHICLE AND SAW FLUID POURING FROM THE VEHICLE ONTO THE GROUND. THE HOOD WAS OPENED AND THE CONSUMER SAW THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALER BUT THE FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THE DEALER REPLACED THE HYDROBOOSTER ASSEMBLY ACCUMULATOR WHICH HAD COME APART. *BF *NM
QUADRA STEERING LOCKS UP, CAUSING THE REAR OF THE TRUCK TO VEER TO THE LEFT AND THE ENTIRE TRUCK TO TRAVEL IN A CRABBING OR ANGLED POSITION. ON TWO LANE ROAD THE REAR IS IN THE ONCOMING LANE AND THE VEHICLE IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. MESSAGE ON DASH IS "SERVICE 4 WHEEL STEER" DEALER CAN NOT FIND A PROBLEM. VEHICLE STILL AT DEALERSHIP.*AK
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT A STEERING PROBLEM. THE STEERING LOCKED UP. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND ALSO CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE DEFECT. HOWEVER, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALER DID NOT KNOW HOW TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH A HEAD ON COLLISION OCCURRED. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE SOME INJURIES. *AK *TT
2004 GMC SIERRA PICKUP TRUCK, NOTICE BRAKE PROBLEMS AT ABOUT 12,000 MILES TOOK TRUCK TO DEALER TO SEE WHAT PROBLEM WAS, CONCERNED WAS WEARING BRAKE ROTORS IN FRONT END, WAS TOLD THAT ROTORS WERE DEFECTED FROM MANUFACTURER THY WERE TURNED WRONG AT FACTORY, THEY TRIED TO CORRECT PROBLEM BY TURNING THEM AT DEALER PROBLEM RETURNED AT 30,000 MILES, WENT BACK TO DEALER TO CORRECT PROBLEM THEN FRONT ROTORS WERE REPLACED AND REAR ROTORS WERE TURNED ALSO, AGAIN AT ABOUT 34,000 MILES PROBLEMS WITH REAR ROTORS OCCURRED THEY REFUSED TO WARRANTY THEM I FEEL THAT THERE'S A WIDER PROBLEM THEN JUST A FEW TRUCK AND S.U.V. AND A RECALL AND A INSPECTION SHOULD BE DONE ON ALL ROTORS FROM THIS YEAR OF MANUFACTURING SHOULD BE DONE FOR SAFETY REASONS I DID SAVE THE REAR ROTORS FOR MEASUREMENT IN THE FUTURE IF NEEDED. *AK *NM
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WOULD INTERMITTENTLY HESITATE BEFORE CATCHING IN GEAR WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER ON TWO SEPARATED OCCASIONS AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THAT THIS VEHICLE MAYBE REAR ENDED. *AK THE TRUCK WAS ON AN INCLINE IN OVERDRIVE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, LET OFF THE BRAKE AND GAVE IT GAS TO MERGE INTO TRAFFICS AND THE TRUCK WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. IT HESITATED UNTIL FELT LIKE A GEAR CAUGHT AND THEN INTO TRAFFIC INSTEAD OF GOING WHEN IT NEEDED TO GO. THE SECOND TIME WAS ALMOST THE SAME WAY. *BF

CONSUMER AND HIS WIFE WERE CLEANING THE VEHICLE. HUSBAND WAS OUTSIDE WASHING THE VEHICLE, WHILE THE WIFE WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE, CLEANING. THE WIFE HAD THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, TURNED TO ACCESSORIES WHILE LISTENING TO THE RADIO, AND ACCIDENTALLY PUSHING THE SHIFTER DOWN WITH CAR BEING OFF AND VEHICLE MOVED BACKWARD, HITTING THE HUSBAND AND INJURING HIS KNEES.*AK THE CONSUMER ENTERED A FILE # OF 1-281746845. *TC
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 30 MPH WHEN A CLUNKING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE AND THE DEALER CONFIRMED ON BOTH OCCASIONS THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
THE LEAF SPRINGS CONTINUOUSLY SQUEAK...AND ARE WAY TOO NOISY! I HAVE PERSONALLY TRIED TO CLAMP THEM DOWN...GREASE THEM..SO THEY DO NOT SQUEAK! I PLAN ON TAKING IT TO THE DEALER!
WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH VEHICLE STALLED .CONSUMER APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK BRAKE PEDAL WAS RUSTED. BUMPER WAS RUSTING. *TC
WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH IN HEAVY FOG THE CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND WENT DOWN AN EMBANKMENT AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT BROKE. AS A RESULT, THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED NECK INJURIES AND BRUISES. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT 30-40 MPH, THE CONSUMER HEARD A CLUMPING NOISE COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF TRUCK. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WHO TRIED TO FIX THE VEHICLE, BUT GMC WOULD NOT THE ALLOW DEALER TO WORK ON THE VEHICLE. *JB
CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN A ROLL OVER, AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ALSO, SEAT BELTS DID NOT SECURE THE OCCUPANTS. THE DRIVER WAS UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL, AND THE PASSENGER WAS UNDER THE DASHBOARD. *AK
TRUCK VIBRATES AND MAKES NOISE BETWEEN 40 AND 50. SOUNDS LIKE BINDING. HAPPENS AS TRUCK IS SHIFTING IN AND OUT OF OVERDRIVE. DEALER HAS TRIED BUT CANNOT DUPLICATE CONDITION.*AK
THE PERSONNEL SETTING SYSTEM THAT YOU CAN PROGRAM YOUR SEAT POSITION AND OTHER FUNCTIONS IN HAS FAILED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THIS CAUSES THE SEAT TO SHOVE YOU INTO THE DASCHBOARD OR ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE FURTHEST POSITION. I ASKED GM TO FIX THIS AND I WAS GIVEN BY THE SERVICE MANAGER AT O'CONNOR GMC AUGUSTA,MAINE THE PRINT OUT OF A BULLETIN THAT STATES THAT IT IS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM AND THERE IS "NO FIX AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME" AND IT STATES THE TECHNICIAN SHOULD DO NOTHING TO TRY TO FIX THIS. IT IS BULLETIN #04-08-50-016 DATED 8/19/04. *AK
THE TRANSMISSION HAS INTERMITTENT SHIFTING PROBLEMS, IT HESITATES AND BIG NOISE HAPPENS. DEALER HASN'T FOUND ANYTHING. ALSO TRUCK VIBRATES AT 40-50 MILES AN HR. VERY ANNOYING. THE DEALER SAYS ON GOING PROBLEM WITH NO SOLUTION. THINKING OF BUYING A FORD MOVING AHEAD. *NM
I PURCHASED MY 2004 GMC SIERRA 1500 4X4. I PUT IT IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE TO GO THROUGH SOME ICE AND IT MADE A VERY LOUD CLANK. NOT LONG AFTER THAT WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE OR DRIVE IT ALSO MADE THE SAME LOUD CLANK. IT DID NOT SOUND LIKE THAT WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE TRUCK. NOW THE TRUCK HAS TROUBLE GOING INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND ALSO GETS HUNG IN REVERSE. IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO GET IN A BAD ACCIDENT. MY CRUISE CONTROL ALSO HAS HAVE 6 MALFUNCTIONS. I HAD THE DEALER FIX IT INITIALLY. I HAVE FIXED IT SUBSEQUENTLY DUE TO THE FACT THEY SAID IT WAS A BLOWN FUSE. THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WERE ADDRESSED 3 TIMES AND ALL THE DEALERS SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SAID THERE IS A DEFECT WITH MY TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE. THAT IS IT WITH THE TRUCK. NOW JUST LAST THURSDAY FEB 3, MY BRIDGESTONE TIRE SEPARATED. MY TIRE DEALER SAID THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE WHAT SO EVER THAT THERE WAS ANY DAMAGE TO THE TIRE TO CAUSE THE BLOWOUT. IT SHOULD NOT HAVE SEPARATED. IT CAUSED A FIRE. IT WAS QUICKLY PUT OUT. *JB
2004 GMC 3500 PICKUP, PARK LIGHTS GOES OUT ON IT'S OWN. *BF THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED THE PARKING LIGHTS WERE HOOKED TO A BATTERY SAVING DEVICE THAT AUTOMATICALLY TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS THAT WERE LEFT ON AFTER A PERIOD OF 10 MINUTES. *JB

WHEN TURNING LEFT THE STEERING WHEEL SQUEAKS. WHEN TAKING MINOR BUMPS ON THE ROAD THERE'S A RATTLING OR A PULSING FEELING COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL/COLUMN. DRIVER DOOR MADE A RATTLING NOISE (WHICH WAS FIXED) AND THERE WAS A PUMPING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE DASH BOARD BY THE FLOOR (WHICH WAS FIXED).*JB
DT: THE CONTACT STATED WHEN APPLYING BRAKE PRESSURE AT 5 MPH OR LESS THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. WHEN BRAKE PRESSURE WAS RELEASED, THE POWER STEERING RETURNED. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THE SAME PUMP ACTIVATED THE POWER STEERING AND THE POWER ASSIST BRAKES;. HE REPLACED A VALVE ON THE PUMP. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED, AND HE RETURNED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT PRODUCED NORMAL CODES. THERE WAS TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN PIT3310 , AND THE CONTACT FELT THIS WAS RELATED TO THE ONGOING PROBLEM. NO FURTHER REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. *AK
THE HEATING AND AC CONTROLS WERE REPLACED 2 TIMES IN 2007.AND ARE STILL NOT WORKING PROPERLY TODAY I WAS DRIVING HOME WITH THE AC ON BECAUSE IT'S 99 DEGREES IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND LIKE IT HAS BEEN DOING FOR YEARS IT STARTED BLOWING HOT AIR ON ITS OWN. I HAVE SEE OTHER GM VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ISSUE. SO I BELIEVE GM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING THIS ISSUE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT 5 MPH OR GREATER,AND WHEN TURNING LEFT, THERE WAS A LOUD POPPING NOISE IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION. OWNER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT TORSION BAR, AND THE LEFT CONTROL ARM CAME OUT OF PLACE. ALSO, THE FRONT CROSS MEMBER BRACE CAME LOOSE. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC SIERRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MECHANISM TO LOWER THE SPARE TIRE ON THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE. THE CABLE WOULD LOWER BUT THE TIRE WOULD NOT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY MECHANISM, THERE WAS NO WAY TO REMOVE THE SPARE TIRE FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE MECHANIC HAD TO USE A TORCH AND CUT THE SPARE TIRE LOOSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPARE TIRE LOOKED AS IF IT WAS NEVER REMOVED FROM VEHICLE AND BELIEVED THAT RUST AND CORROSION CAUSED THE TIRE TO BECOME STUCK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,000. UPDATED EVOQ 10/13/10
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. VEHICLE HIT A MERIDIAN STRIP POLE. CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, SKIDDED INTO A GUARD RAIL, AND VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER TWICE. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. PASSENGER AND DRIVER SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK INJURIES, AND WERE TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO A HOSPITAL. VEHICLE WAS TOWED, AND TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. *AK *NM
UPON ENTERING THE VEHICLE THERE WAS NO POWER. AAA WAS CALLED, AND IT WOULD NOT TAKE A JUMP. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE BATTERY CABLE BOLT THAT BECAME DEFECTIVE FROM ACID. THE BATTERY CABLE PRONG AND WIRES WERE REPLACED AT CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. *AK *SC *JB
THE RIGHT SIDE POWER EXTENDING CAMPER STYLE MIRRORS ON MY 2004 GMC SIERRA 2500HD PICKUP TRUCK HAS BLIND SPOTS THAT WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO SEE CARS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRUCK. YOU EITHER ADJUST THE MIRROR OUT AND POINTING DOWN TO SEE CARS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OR YOU POINT THE MIRROR TOWARDS THE REAR OF THE TRUCK TO SEE THE BACK CORNER OF THE TRUCK TO BACK UP TO THINGS. BUT YOU CAN NOT SEE BOTH AT ONCE.*AK

CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT HOLD BACK IN DOWN HILL DECENT,IT JUST FREE WHEELS, SET AT 45 MPH,IT WILL GO TO 60 OR FASTER UNTIL YOU PUT ON THE BRAKES. *JB
BY LOOKING AT THE FRONT/REAR TIRES CONSUMER CAN SEE THAT THEY ARE WEARING OUT PREMATURELY. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
