DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING 20 MPH THE TRANSMISSION MADE A NOISE WHILE IT WAS CHANGING GEARS. AT FIRST THE NOISE WAS A LIGHT PING BUT NOW THE NOISE HAD BECOME REGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE SOUND GRADUATED TO A CLUNK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ALERTED THAT A LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE FIXED. THE NOISE WAS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE WAY THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED. UPDATED 9/28/2006 - *NM
SPEEDOMETER IS ERRATIC IN FUNCTION I HAVE 44,000 MILES ON MY 2004 GMC SIERRA AND THE SPEEDOMETER IS IN NEED OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT. *NM
FLYWHEEL ON FOUR LOCALLY OWNED GM TRUCKS WERE REPORTED BEING CRACKED OR BROKEN. OLD PARTS ARE AVAIL. SINCE THEN SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY AND I AM TOLD THERE'S NO PROBLEM. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHO DETERMINED THE IGNITION HARNESS NEEDED REPLACED. AFTER THE IGNITION HARNESS REPLACEMENT, THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AWAITING FURTHER INSPECTION BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED.
THE SPEEDOMETER AND GAUGES SUCH AS OIL PRESSURE, RPM ETC. ARE READING WRONG AND MOST OF THE TIME DON'T WORK. THIS PROBLEM IS STILL GOING ON IN OUR 04 GMC SIERRA. *NM
THE 2004 GMC SIERRA SPEEDOMETER STARTED ACTING UP: STUCK ON MPH WHEN NOT DRIVING THEN WHILE DRIVING IT ACTED AS IF MPH STARTED ON 0 BUT RECORDED AS FOR EXAMPLE: 90MPH...(IT STUCK ON 30MPH THEN WHEN DRIVING IT RECORDED GOING 90MPH WHEN ACTUALLY TRAVELING 60MPH) WE TOOK THE TRUCK IN A FEW DIFFERENT TIMES TO BE CHECKED AND THE FINAL CONCLUSION WAS THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT A LARGE VOLUME OF TRUCKS THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE SOME SORT OF RECALL ON THIS AND THAT GM NEEDS TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OF. *TR
INTERMEDIATE SHAFT CONTINUES TO RATTLE. WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY ONCE. VEHICLE IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AND COST $110 TO LUBE THE SHAFT, WHICH ISN'T EVEN GUARANTEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR TRUCKS OVER AND OVER. GM NEEDS TO HANDLE THE PROBLEM CORRECTLY. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE STOPPING DISTANCE WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.
A/C DOES NOT COOL PROPERLY. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THIS PROBLEM. FIRST TIME VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THERE IS A TSB OUT ON THIS PROBLEM AND DEALER INSISTED THAT A/C WAS COOLING PROPERLY. NOW THAT THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY, IT STILL HAS THE SAME A/C PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE NOW NEEDS A $175 A/C SERVICE, TSB STILL NOT PERFORMED. MY VEHICLE MET ALL THE CRITERIA TO HAVE THIS PERFORMED BEFORE MY WARRANTY RAN OUT, AND STILL DOES. *JB
DIESEL POWER KEEPS REDUCING. TRUCK HAS BEEN TO DEALER TWICE. ALL MAINTENANCE IS PERFORMED PER OWNERS MANUAL, INCLUDING FUEL FILTERS. TRUCK HAS BEEN TO DEALER TWICE FOR THIS PROBLEM. I SUSPECT INJECTOR FAILURE OR OTHER FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM. AT 5000 MILES THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD A NEW INJECTOR PUMP REPLACED. I FEEL THAT THIS MAKES THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO TRAILER WITH. I HAVE TROUBLE MAINTAINING SPEEDS ON EVEN THE SMALLEST OF GRADES NOT TOWING MUCH WEIGHT. I HAVE CONTACTED GM, WHICH WAS LESS THAN HELPFUL. DEALER INSISTS THAT IT NEEDS THE "THROTTLE BODY CLEANED", NO THROTTLE BODY ON A DIESEL! TRUCK IS NOW GOING TO A RECOMMENDED, COMPETENT MEDIUM DUTY DEALERSHIP. *JB
SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING AT APPROX 45,000 MI. FOLLOWED BY OIL PRESSURE AND VOLTMETER AT APPROX 60,000 MI. ALSO COOLANT LEAK BEHIND TIMING COVER AT APPROX 50,000 MI. *TR
I BOUGHT NEW GMC SIERRRA IN MID 2004, TRUCK EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLER ST. TRUCK EXHIBITS VERY POOR WET TRACTION AND EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR. WHEN TIRE WAS APPROXIMATELY AT 18,000 MILES HAD SERIOUS SPIN OUT ON I75 SOUTH OF TAMPA IN LITE RAINY CONDITION. SINCE THEN NOTICED TIRE SPIN ON SLIGHTEST WET ROADS, EVEN HAS TROUBLE PULLING OUT OF CAR WASHES. THIS IS DANGEROUS TIRE AND SHOULD NOT BE INSTILLED ON LARGE VEHICLES. TIRE IS DOWN TO WEAR MARKS AND ONLY HAS 28000 MILES. TIRES HAVE BEEN ROTATED AND MAINTAINED ONLY BY GM DEALERS. GOODYEAR DEALER STATES THIS TIRE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ON FULL SIZE TRUCKS, IT WILL WEAR EXCESSIVELY AND MAY LEAD TO BLOWOUT. DEALERSHIP WON'T DO ANYTHING AND GOODYEAR STATES IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY BECAUSE IT WAS ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT INSTALLED BY MANUFACTURER. *TR
MY GMC SIERRA CREW CAB K1500 Z-71 SPEEDOMETER BEGAN MALFUNCTIONING AROUND 37,000 MILES. IT WILL STICK AT 0, OR SOMETIMES AT 20 OR 50. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND GETS BETTER SOMETIMES IF I STOP AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. NOW VOLT METER IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, SINCE I CAN'T TELL THE MPH THAT I AM DRIVING. I REGULARLY CARRY MY 2 SMALL SONS AND THIS IS QUITE SCARY. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH MANY GM PRODUCTS THIS AGE. GENERAL MOTORS HAS A MAJOR PROBLEM HERE ! *NM
MY 2004 GMC SIERRA 1500 MAKES A LOAD CLUNKING NOISE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED, I HAD THIS VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND IT KEPT RETURNING. *TR
1) AFTER PASSING 50,000 ON MY 04 GMC SIERRA 2) SPEEDOMETER STOP WORKING CORRECTING RESULTING IN TWO SPEEDING TICKETS THIS PAST SUMMER. 3) I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO ONLY HEAR, IT WILL COST YOU AROUND $800.00 TO FIX. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE FUEL GAUGE IS INOPERATIVE. THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY AT ALL TIMES. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE FUEL SENDER ASSEMBLY, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN ALERTED. UPDATED 7/21/2006 - THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE HAS EXHIBITED THE PROBLEM SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW. MANY COMOPONENTS WERE REPLACED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM BUT NONE OF THEM WORKED TO PERMANENTLY REPAIR THE PROBLEM. *NM
I HAVE A 2004 GMC SIERRA 1500 Z71 PICK UP AND THE ABS AND CHECK BRAKE LIGHTS KEEP COMING ON AND OFF. AFTER TAKEN IN TO SHOP (DEALER) THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY FAULT CODES FINALLY LATE 2008 I HAD IT LOOKED AT BY A LOCAL SHOP AND THEY BELIEVE IT IS A BAD CARD . SOME TIMES IT WONT GO OFF FOR MONTHS AND OTHER TIMES IT IS NONE STOP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC SIERRA 3500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES IT WOULD TAKE LONGER THAN NORMAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ADVISED HIM THAT HE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE DISK AND ROTORS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 20 MONTHS THE SAME FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.
MY 2004 GMC PICKUP TRUCK HAS A KNOCKING NOISE AND CLUNK IN THE STEERING COLUMN. IT STARTED AROUND 30K MILES AND HAS GOTTEN STEADILY WORSE OVER THE COURSE OF OWNERSHIP. I DID SOME SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET AND IT SEEMS GM HAS KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ON NUMEROUS MODELS OVER THE COURSE OF ABOUT 6 YEARS. 00-02-35-003M JAN 07 MODELS: 2002-2006 CADILLAC ESCALADE MODELS 1999-2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO MODELS (CLASSIC) 2000-2006 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN, TAHOE MODELS 2002-2006 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE 1999-2007 GMC SIERRA MODELS (CLASSIC) 2000-2006 GMC YUKON, YUKON XL MODELS 2003-2006 HUMMER H2 CONDITION SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMMENT ON A CLUNK-TYPE NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD THAT ALSO CAN BE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THESE CONDITIONS MAY BE MORE NOTICEABLE WHEN TURNING AT LOW SPEEDS ON ROUGH ROAD SURFACES. DIAGNOSTIC TIPS ' INTERMEDIATE SHAFT CLUNK -- INTERMEDIATE SHAFT CLUNK IS HEARD AND FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND/OR STEERING COLUMN AREA, TYPICALLY WHILE DRIVING ON ROUGH ROAD SURFACES WITH STEERING WHEEL INPUT. IMPORTANT: ' I-SHAFT P/N 19155614 HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO REPLACE PREVIOUS DESIGNED DAMPENED AND NON-DAMPENED I-SHAFTS. THE PHYSICAL DIFFERENCE IN THE YOKE SIZE WILL ACCOMMODATE ALL VEHICLES LISTED IN THIS BULLETIN. REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN UPPER INTERMEDIATE SHAFT WITH AN IMPROVED DESIGN SHAFT THAT WILL ELIMINATE THE CLUNK NOISE USING THE PROCEDURE LISTED BELOW. GM KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND IT SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM. GM USED THE SAME PARTS ON MY TRUCK THAT WERE BEING REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY WHEN MY TRUCK SOLD. THEY SHOULD HAVE UPGRADED THE PARTS ON THE NEW TRUCK BECAUSE THEY KNEW THEY WERE FAILING. GM KNEW THE JOINTS WERE FAILING AND KEPT USING A FAILING PART FOR 4 YEARS ON NEW TRUCKS AND EXPECT THE OWNERS TO PAY FOR BAD PARTS. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND FAILED. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PRESSED, IT WAS SPONGY AND WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE REAR STAINLESS STEEL BRAKE LINE HAD SPLIT. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN ALERTED.
CLUNKING NOISE ON FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF 2004 GMC 1500 WITH 33000 MILES. WAS IN AT DEALER TODAY AND THEY SAID THEY COULD ONLY TEMPORARILY FIX PROBLEM. WAS INTERMEDIATE STEERING SECTION AND GM HAD NOT FOUND FIX FOR IT. SAID THAT THE CLUNKING WOULD RETURN IN FEW MONTHS. THEY PUT NEW GREASE IN. WHAT AM I TO DO WHEN WARRANTY EXPIRES IN 3000 MILES AND IT RETURNS? IS THIS GOING TO CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL AND EVEN WORSE? *JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC SIERRA. THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE BECAUSE THE DEALER STATED THAT THE MILEAGE EXCEEDED 70,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 144,000. SPEEDOMETER FAILED. IT READS SLOW. 2004 GMC SIERRA 1500 SPEEDOMETER FAILED AFTER WARRANTY WAS OVER. SPEEDOMETER STICKS AND READS ANYWHERE FROM 60 TO 120 MPH WHEN STANDING STILL. MANY COMPLAINTS IN FORUMS, BUT NO RECALL FROM GMC. UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITHOUT KNOWING TRUE SPEED. GMC WANTS BIG BUCKS TO FIX, SHOULD BE RECALLED.*AK

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING IN NORMAL CONDITIONS, THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR INSPECTION. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION; HOWEVER, THE NEW TRANSMISSION HAS THE SAME PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED AN ABNORMAL RATTLING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE UPPER STEERING COLUMN WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER LUBRICATED THE STEERING COLUMN BUT THE PART WAS NOT REPLACED AND THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE PART HAD BEEN REPLACED AND THEY COULD NOT OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
MY CONCERN IS ONE FOR TRYING TO PREVENT A FUTURE ACCIDENT. I OWN A GMC SIERRA 2500 PICKUP AND THE UPPER INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE AND IN GOING OUT AGAIN. THIS ALL WITHIN 40,000 MILES. I FEEL THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE DESIGN OF THE PART. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF THE STEERING SHAFT FAILS, THE DRIVER WOULD LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY,WHEN DESCENDING DOWN A HILL,THE TRUCK PICKS UP SPEED,THERE IS NO HOLD BACK,IT JUST LIKE IT FREE WHEELS. *NM
CLUNK NOISE THAT CAN BE FELT THROUGH STEERING COLUMN WHEN TRAVELING OVER ROUGH PAVEMENT AND IS MORE PRONOUNCED WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT. MANUFACTURER HAS KNOWN OF THIS PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND STILL HAS FAILED TO CORRECT IT FOR MANY CUSTOMERS. MOST DEALER SERVICE CENTERS TELL CUSTOMERS THAT THEY CAN TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM BY LUBRICATING THE UPPER INTERMEDIATE SHAFT OF THE STEERING COLUMN. THIS WORKS FOR MANY BUT IS JUST A TEMPORARY FIX AS IT HAS BEEN REPORTED BY MANY THAT THE PROBLEM RETURNS AND IN MOST CASES AFTER THE WARRANTY PERIOD HAS EXPIRED. SOME OWNERS HAVE REPORTED RETURNING TO THE DEALERSHIP AS MANY AS 5 TIMES. *NM
GAUGES WENT OUT, SHOULD BE A REPLACE RECALL. *TR
2004 GMC SIERRA BRAKES FAIL WHEN THERE IS SNOW ON THE GROUND. *TS THE BRAKES WOULD GRAB AND GRIND WHILE BRAKING WHICH CAUSED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. THE BRAKES WORK PROPERLY ON DRY SURFACES. *NM
2004 SIERRA CAUGHT ON FIRE DUE TO A MALFUNCTION IN THE TRUCK. *TS *JB
HEAD ON MID SPEED COLLISION WITH TREE- NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WITH INJURY TO DRIVER-SOLE OCCUPANT. *NM
SPEEDOMETER AND GAUGE CLUSTER HAVE WORKED INTERMITTENTLY FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS AND HAVE NOW COMPLETELY FAILED. I HAVE TALKED TO SEVERAL OTHER GM TRUCK OWNERS AND APPARENTLY THIS AN EXTREMELY COMMON OCCURRENCE. SOME OF THEM WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE GOTTEN IT COVERED. I SEE FROM THE COMPLAINT SEARCH THAT THERE ARE A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS HERE AS WELL. GM CHARGES AN OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT TO FIX THIS ISSUE AS IT REQUIRES COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE CLUSTER. IF A TOTAL FAILURE OF A CLUSTER INCLUDING THE SPEEDOMETER ISN'T A SAFETY HAZARD, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. *NM
DT: THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT BRAKE LINES WERE RUBBING AGAINST THE CALIPER, CAUSING A HOLE/LOSS OF FLUID, AND FAILURE IN THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE LINE, AND PLACED A RUBBER BOOT WHERE THE WEARING OCCURRED. THE DEALERSHIP SAID DEFECT WAS A RESULT OF THE SUSPENSION MODIFICATION TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER MECHANIC, WHO STATED THE RUBBER BOOT WOULD NOT STOP THE WEARING, AND THE MODIFICATION COULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. *AK

2002 CHEVROLET DURAMAX 3/4 TON PICK-UP FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEMS**CC THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS HARD TO START, AND HAD LOW POWER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL INJECTION PUMP, THE TRUCK RAN BETTER, BUT IT STILL WAS NOT RIGHT. THE WATER PUMP WAS REPLACED. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE MAKING A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN AT 15 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING SHAFT. THE DEALER LUBRICATED THE STEERING SHAFT AND THE NOISE CEASED. HOWEVER, THE NOISE HAS CURRENTLY RETURNED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS WAS A MAINTENANCE ISSUE THAT WOULD HAVE TO BE CORRECTED ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 46,000. ON NOVEMBER 29 WHILE DRIVING MY 2004 GMC SIERRA PICKUP MY SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONED. THIS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN OFF AND ON FOR 2 OR 3 WEEKS THEN STOPPED WORKING. AFTER CHECKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP I WAS ADVISED THIS WOULD COST 500 DOLLARS TO REPAIR. THE LOCAL SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT HAS 10 2003 CHEVY TAHOE'S THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE SPEEDOMETER WORKED INTERMITTENTLY AND DISPLAYED INACCURATE SPEEDS BEFORE COMPLETELY FAILING. THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AT THAT TIME AND HAS SINCE WORSENED. GENERAL MOTORS HAS A LETTER OF INTENT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, BUT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAS EXCEEDED THE 70,000 MILES SPECIFIED IN THE LETTER, THE CONTACT WAS DENIED THE REPAIR. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
FAILURE OF SPEEDOMETER AND OIL GAUGE. WAS CONTACTED BY GM TO REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. BECAUSE I HAD MORE THAN 70K MILES THEY SAID IT WILL NOT BE REPLACED. EVEN THOUGH THEY ADMIT TO A FAILURE OF THE SYSTEM, SINCE I CANNOT PROVE IT HAPPENED WITHIN THE 70K MILEAGE THEY ARE REFUSING TO REPLACE IT. THIS IS A TREMENDOUS HAZARD AND IS VERY COSTLY TO REPLACE. SPEEDOMETER IS STUCK AT 65 MPH & GOES UP FROM THERE SO IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW HOW FAST THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I CALLED GMC ABOUT RECALLS & THEY SAID THERE ARE NONE. *NM

WHILE DRIVING OUR 2004 GMC SIERRA, THE SPEEDOMETER, KEEP ACTING UP AND THEN IT JUST QUIT. BEFORE THE MANUFACTURES WARRANTY WENT OUT. SO I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND SAID IT WOULD COST ME ABOUT 1000.00 DOLLARS .I THINK THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE FIXED BY THE MANUFACTURE. *NM
DT: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES IT WAS DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE SLID BEFORE IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THERE WAS EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCES WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. *AK
LARGE BOLT BROKE AND FELL OUT THAT HOLD THE LOWER CONTROL ARM ON!. *JB
DT: CONTACT STATES SINCE 7-04 HAD STEERING PROBLEMS. IN 3-05 HE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GMC STATING THAT THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 2-11 OR 100,000 MILES BECAUSE OF ALL OF THE PROBLEMS HE HAD BEEN HAVING WITH THE CAR. HIS WARRANTY WAS ABOUT TO RUN OUT AND HE WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH HIS TRUCK. HE WAS GOING TO FORWARD OTHER PERTINENT DOCUMENTS LATER CONCERNING THE NUMEROUS REPAIR WORK HE HAS DONE. *AK
I HAVE A 2004 Z71 SIERRA TRUCK WITH A 5.3 ENGINE THAT HAS A SPEEDOMETER PROBLEM. IT READS 120MPH ALL OF THE TIME AND THEY HAVE QUOTED ME AROUND $550 TO FIX. I ALSO HAVE A CLUNK IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN TURNING. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FIXED ONCE BY WARRANTY BUT IT HAS RETURNED AGAIN. *TR
