TIRE IS SEPARATED BETWEEN TREAD THIS IS THE 2ND TIRE THAT HAS DONE THIS IN THIS LOT.
GOING SOUTH ON I77, CRUISE SET ON 70 MPH, NOTICED SLIGHT VIBRATION AND CONTINUED ABOUT 4 MILES WHEN THE LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT. TAPED THE BRAKE, GOT OFF ON BURM ASAP AND TURNED ON HAZARD LIGHTS. HAD TO CONTINUE FOR ANOTHER MILE OR SO I COULD CLEAR THE INTERSTATE. HAD TO HAVE ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE TO CHANGE THE TIRE. MICHELIN REFUSED TO WARRANTY THIS TIRE AND IT HAD ONLY BEEN ON MY TRUCK FOR 4 MONTHS. THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS A 2009 MODEL TIRE. *TR
7-9-2014 MICHELIN TIRE BLOW OUT LEFT FRONT TIRE 65 MPH ON I5 NORTH BOUND JUST NORTH EXIT 734 I HAVE TIRE AND PICTURES OF TIRE AND DAMAGE OF $3665.01 TO FRONT END OF TRUCK. THE TIER 'S DOT NUMBERS WERE NOT READABLE. I REPORTED THIS TO LOCAL MICHELIN DEALERSHIP. THEY REFERRED ME TO MICHELIN. I HAVE PLACED SEVERAL CALLS TO MICHELIN. MICHELIN HAS NOT RESPONDED TO MY CALLS. *TR
TL- THE CONTACT WANTED TO USE THE COMPLAINT THAT WAS SENT VIA EMAIL. JO I PURCHASED THIS USED GMC SIERRA P/U IT HAD GOODYEAR WANGLER ATS TIRES. I WAS DRIVING ON OUR HIGHWAY 3 IN IOWA AND I WAS PASSING A BUS, AT ABOUT 70MPH THE TIRE SIDEWALL EXPLODED I HAVE A PICTURE TO SEND YOU IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT. LEFT FRONT TIRE. 2005 GMC SIERRA WITH 68,000 MILES HAD WHEEL BEARING FAILURE ON PASSENGER SIDE. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP DUE TO MY FEAR OF POSS LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. *TR
TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, HE HEARD A SCRAPING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FRONT WHEEL HUB FAILED. THEY MADE THE REPLACEMENT AND THERE HAVEN'T BEEN ANY FURTHER OCCURRENCES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,000. (OR) UPDATED 09/24/08. *LJ UPDATED 09/30/08. *JB
TL* - THE CONTACT CALLED REGARDING THE 2005 GMC SIERRA. THE PASSENGER'S FRONT TIRE WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER AT 6000 MILES BECAUSE THERE WAS NO TREAD LEFT ON THE TIRE. THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE HAD WORN UNEVENLY, AND THE PASSENGER'S FRONT TIRE WAS STARTING TO WEAR OUT AS WELL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE IS 9,691. THE DEALER STATED THE REASON FOR THE PREMATURE WEAR WAS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT DEALER, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ALIGNED ACCORDING TO GMC SPECS. GMC OFFERED TO GIVE THE CONTACT $500 TOWARDS THE PURCHASE OF NEW TIRES, BUT THE CONTACT REFUSED THE OFFER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,691.*AK
DT:THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING HEARD A NOISE AND THE VEHICLE FISH TAILED IN THE REAR. HE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE TREAD ALONG THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE SEPARATED. A BLACK POWDER SUBSTANCE WAS ON THE INSIDE OF THE DAMAGED TIRE. THERE WERE NO OBVIOUS ROAD HAZARDS. DT: A NEW TIRE HAD A TREAD SEPARATION. GMC TRUCK THAT IS ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD. THE TIRE FAILED, AND THERE WAS A SEPARATION OF TREAD. *AK THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE OUTSIDE TREAD. *SC
DT: THE CONTACT STATES WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS HE EXPERIENCED AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH TIRE FAILURE. HE DOES NOT BELIEVE THIS IS RELATED TO ANY ROAD HAZARDS. HE HAS EXPERIENCED COMPLETE TREAD SEPARATION ON ALL FOUR TIRES. HE HAS BEEN CONSULTING WITH THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURE REGARDING THIS ONGOING PROBLEM. HE HAS REPLACED THE TIRES WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND OF TIRES AT HIS OWN EXPENSE. THE DEALER REPLACED ONE OF THE TIRES. HOWEVER AT THIS TIME THE MANUFACTURER IS UNWILLING TO OFFER ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE TIRES ARE GENERAL AMERI TRAC P245/70R17. *JB
THE NUTS ON THE HUB CAPS BECAME SO HOT, THEY BLEW THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE HUB CAPS OFF. THE CALIPERS, ROTORS AND HUB CAPS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. *JB THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT EH HUB CAPS WERE BEING REDESIGNED TO WITHSTAND HEAT. *NM
