VEHICLE HAS INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM, CAUSING STALLING, VERY LOW ROUGH IDLE, UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAPPENS IN TRAFFIC, AT STOP LIGHTS ETC. THE MAKE AND MODEL OF MY TRUCK IS INCLUDED IN A SAFETY RECALL BULLETIN #14515B JANUARY 2015, HOWEVER MY PARTICULAR TRUCK IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. I HAVE CONTACTED GM AND THEY ARE UNWILLING TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP FLOW CONTROL MODULE THAT IS CAUSING THIS SAFETY HAZARD. MY BELIEF IS THAT GM RECALLED CERTAIN VEHICLES AND EXCLUDED SOME THAT SHOULD BE IN THE SAFETY RECALL SCOPE. *TR
THE PRIMER PUMP HOUSING DEVELOPS A SMALL LEAK AROUND A ELECTRICAL CONNECTION. THIS COULD LEAD TO A FIRE AS FUEL DROPS ON THE ENGINE. GM IS AWARE OF PROBLEM IT HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR SEVERAL YEARS. IT ONLY OCCURS WHEN VEHICLE IS RUNNING. NOTE-NO FIRE HAS HAPPEN TO MY VEHICLE, NOR DO I KNOW OF A FIRE OCCURRING. I JUST BELIEVE THIS IS UNSAFE. THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM IS TO REPLACE PRIMER PUMP HOUSING.
ON APRIL 13 2014 MY TRUCK WAS LEAKING FUEL TOO BAD TO CONTINUE DRIVING. I HAVE BEEN SMELLING GAS FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND COULD NEVER FIND WHERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM. THEN ON APRIL 13TH WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME I SMELLED GAS AND HAD TO PULL OVER, FRIGHTENED THAT THE TRUCK MIGHT CATCH FIRE AND EXPLODE. IT SEEMS THERE IS A LEAK AROUND THE FUEL TANK. I NOTIFIED GM AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD ONLY PAY FOR A PORTION OF THE REPAIR. ANOTHER PROBLEM THAT STARTED ABOUT THE SAME TIME I STARTED SMELLING GAS WAS THAT THE KEY STARTED GETTING STUCK IN THE START POSITIOIN CONTINUALLY TURNING OVER THE STARTER. I THEN HAVE TO STRUGGLE FORCEFULLY TO GET THE KEY TO TURN TO THE OFF POSITION, FEARFUL OF CAUSING MORE DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE OR POSSIBLY CATCHING FIRE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THESE TRUCKS DON'T HAVE A RECALL ON THEM!! *JS
2007 SIERRA WITH 5.3 LITER HAS EXPERIENCED TWO PLASTIC FUEL LINE LEAKS IN UNDER 37000 MILES. LEAKS SPRAY FUEL ONTO EXHAUST PIPE AREA. THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD, USED TO TOW, ETC. *JB
FUEL GAUGE SHOWING THAT I HAD FUEL ,BUT THE TRUCK RAN OUT OF GAS TWICE GOING DOWN THE ROAD 55MPH. I DID GET THE TRUCK PULLED OVER TO A GRAVEL ROAD AND THEN CALLED SOMEONE TO BRING MORE GAS. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AT 55 MILES PER HOUR AND THE TRUCK JUST STOPPED RUNNING. THERE WAS NO WARNING. I HAD TO PULL OVER FAST TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT IT IS A FUEL CELL AND THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. *TR
