AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON
TAKATA RECALL-- I WAS CONTACTED IN 2016 ABOUT THIS RECALL AND HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE RUN AROUND BY MY DEALER AND GM YES I'VE CALLED THEM AND THEY SAID YOU GUYS GAVE THEM AN EXTENSION TO PLAY WITH THE LIVES OF PEOPLE (MY WORDS) COME ON. GET ON THE BALL AND MAKE GM REPLACE THIS AIR BAG . SINCE WE RECEIVED MAIL THIS PAST SAT. THAT TK HOLDINGS HAS FILED BANKRUPTCY. SO I SUPPOSE THAT MEANS WE AS THE CONSUMER WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PART OURSELF. SINCE IT IS NOT OUR FAULT AS BUYERS THAT THIS COMPANY RIPPED US OFF. AS YOU CAN SEE I AM FRUSTRATED AT YOU AND OUR DEALER AND GM. NO WONDER PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO BUY FOREIGN GOODS INSTEAD OF AMERICAN MADE. PLEASE FIX THIS!
COLLAPSED AFM LIFTER AT 108000 MILES. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND SERVICE STABILITRAK. MY ENGINE WAS IDLING ROUGH AT LOW RPM. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT HAD A COLLAPSED LIFTER ON THE #6 CYLINDER. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE OIL CHANGED REGULARLY AT THE DEALERSHIP. WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE 4800 TO REPLACE ALL THE LIFTERS, 5300 IF THE CAM WAS BAD ALSO AND 7300 FOR A NEW ENGINE.

I HAVE A 2008 GMC SIERRA 1500 I BOUGHT BRAND NEW AND MY DASH IS CRACKING SEVERELY IN TWO DIFFERENT PLACES! ONE IS RIGHT BEHIND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND IS ABOUT 1 1/4 INCHES AND THE OTHER IS ON THE DRIVER SIDE ABOVE THE GUAGE CLUSTER AND IS ABOUT 6 INCHES OR MORE!

CRACKED DASH - THE DASH OF MY GMC TRUCK HAS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES WITHIN THE LAST YEAR; ONE CRACK BY THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND THE OTHER ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGE - KEPT AND VERY WELL MAINTAINED. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AS EVIDENCED BY ONLINE BLOGS.

TAKATA AIRBAGS. I WAS NOTIFIED BY MAIL JUNE2016 OF DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. I'VE CALLED MY GMC DEALER (MCKINNEY BUICK GMC - MCKINNEY, TX) SEVERAL TIMES & THEY KEEP TELLING ME PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 1 1/2 YEARS NOW. AIRBAGS HAVE NOT DEPLOYED, BUT AM NOT COMFORTABLE CONTINUING DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT NHTSA DEEMS UNSAFE.

" TAKATA RECALL" LAST MEMORIAL DAY, I HAD JUST LEFT A STOPLIGHT TRAVELING APPROX. 20 MPH, WHEN I WAS STRUCK BROADSIDE BY A VOLVO SEDAN TRAVELING BETWEEN 50-60 MPH. I HAVE A SLT MODEL WITH FRONT AND SIDE AIRBAGS AND NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.

THE SERVICE MANAGER AT MY LOCAL GM DEALER FERMAN BUICK-GMC, 24252 STATE ROAD 54, LUTZ, FL 33559 SAYS GM HAS DETERMINED THE RECALL IS UNNECESSARY AND THERE WILL BE NO REPLACEMENT OF THE AIRBAG. THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE AND IT SEEMS TO ME THAT MY AIRBAG SHOULD BE REPLACED REGARDLESS OF GM'S OPINION. PLEASE ADVISE.

TAKATA INFLATORS: WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH. UNTIL THIS PROBLEM IS FIXED IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THERE SHOULD BE NO PRODUCTION OF ANY NEW VEHICLES. IF AIR BAGS ARE STILL BEING INSTALLED, AS PER GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS AND SAFETY STANDARDS, THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY ENGINEERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO COME UP WITH A RETROFIT. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD FORCE THE ISSUE. MY VEHICLE IS STILL ON RECALL.

THE CHECK AIRBAG MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED WHEN VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, TOOK VEHICLE TO MECHANIC WHERE HE DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED CORRODED FRONT IMPACT SENSOR. 2 YEARS LATER AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED BUT NOW I HAD TO REPLACE BOTH FRONT AIRBAG SENSORS. VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 106,000 MILES.
