NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2010 GMC Terrain. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
I bought this car and the mileage said 120K, but the title says when it was tagged 157K. the car has been tampered with and the some of the lights for the car on the dash are missing, such as the check engine light. Also, it misses so bad that it will die at times
Got everything under the hood done n still have the same problem with it shut off while driving
The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the center console display intermittently malfunctioned and became inoperable. During the failure, the HVAC system was no longer blowing hot air, and the front windshield could not be defrosted, creating a visibility hazard for the driver. Additionally, the radio had become inoperable, and the audible clicking from the turn signal was muted. The cause of the failures was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 09V489000 (VISIBILITY). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 114,000.
Test VOQ
Reduce spreed unknown if related to fuel pressure regulator since repaired twice told could be to service bulletin. Warning lights keeps appearing while driving at a speed of 40 to 50 mph.
Wipers stop working
The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that upon attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start as intended; however, the contact was able to jumpstart the vehicle. After a visual inspection of the engine compartment, the contact observed excessive corrosion on and around the battery terminals and the presence of battery acid coming from the battery casing. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown electronics and instrument panel gauges failed to work properly. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,000. The VIN was not available.
The transmission stoped working after the second shift.
Twice had to have wiring repaired because animals ate the wiring. Both were caused by GM using soy based insulation on wiring that made it a delicacy to the animals and caused them to eat through two wiring harnesses, one of which GM no longer makes. The other complaint is the timing belt has stretched and is now in need of replacement at a cost of $4500 to $5000.
Faulty timing chain
The defroster/ radio control/ heating area stopped working. Upon visiting a mechanic was told they never seen this or heard of this happening before and quoted me over $1,000.00 dollars to fix stating that due to Federal Law they have to give an estimate but this problem not being in their system they came up with an estimate based on parts and labor. Upon searching online I found a recall for this issue dating back to 2009 recall number was 09V489000 but was never informed about this and while looking up my car it’s not listed but being a safety issue should still be current which it is not.
My defrost system doesn't work. As I drive down the road my windshield fogs up andni can't get it to un fog at all or fast enough. Almost caused me to have an accident before Christmas
As i went to drive my terrain we bought back in June or July. But for the absolute first time we needed to use the defrost/defogger button last week on OCTOBER 20, 2022 and it wouldn't work. No lights came on to say it was defaulty. It also started to make our radio screen flicker when i tried to turn defrost on and it's continuously flickering and defrost doesn't engage on front windshield at all won't even melt snow or help defog when it's been raining or it's cold out. I almost wrecked my terrain due to this problem. Now on my instrument panel says camshaft/crankshaft sensor says service stabilitrack and something about my AWD System. All these happened within a week from trying to use my defrost. Also my instrument panel where it shows how fast i go flickers and it flickers on the RPM side as well. Noone has touched or looked it over since i have owned my 2010 terrain. Everything was just fine up till i pushed my defrost button and then all the other stuff happened
The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer; however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
Burning oil and bad engine timing chain
The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced a reduction in engine power with the check engine and traction control warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle intermittently failed to start and the passenger's side rear tire made knocking sounds and lifted up off the roadway while making turns. The contact also stated that the vehicle consumed an excessive amount of oil, causing the contact to refill the oil reservoir every three days. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000. The VIN was unavailable.
My information screen which shows valuable information to driver as well as speedometer is blank and the radio and temps , ac/ setting etc a are all unable to be read . There is a recall listed for the computer modules yet they exclude my vin number in that recall how can Chevrolet do that when it’s the same issues 2010 terrains with a different number than mine are being fixed
My 2010 Terrain had been been intermittent dash warnings for “Service StabiliTrac” and “Engine Power Reduced” which would force the engine to reduce the speed itself down to about 30 MPH. After turning off car and restarting, warnings would go away. Yesterday, while driving on a secondary road, with no check engine light on, the engine stalled while traveling at approx 35 MPH. I was able to drop the vehicle into neutral and coast onto a side street, while also attempting to restart the engine. I was able to pull over without causing an accident. After letting the car sit for a few minutes I attempted to restart the engine, but only got a strange noise from the area of the upper cylinders. At his point the check engine light was now on. While waiting for a tow truck, and independent mechanic pulled up to ask if I needed help. After listening to the noice from the upper engine he asked if he could get tools and look in the engine. I said yes. He quickly pulled parts off the upper engine and opened and removed the upper cylinder cover. This revealed that the timing chain had no tension, as well as shards of shattered plastic all over the place, in and around the upper cylinders. After pointing this out he put everything back together and suggested I contact the dealership I got the vehicle from, which I have done already. He then stated that it appears that the engine would need to be replaced or rebuilt, due to catastrophic engine failure. He said my quick thinking of putting the vehicle into neutral probably avoided causing an accident and allowed me to get myself to a safe spot before stopping the vehicle. He also stated that this particular GM motor is known for catastrophic failure, which GM has failed or refused to acknowledge
The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that after changing headlight bulbs, the headlights operated for only one day. There were no warning lights illuminated. THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AS I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 4 IN ORLANDO FLORIDA. THE VEHICLE SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR AND REVVED AS I APPLIED THE GAS. IT SLOWED AND I HAD TO SLIP IT INTO NEUTRAL THEN BACK INTO TO DRIVE TO GET IT TO CATCH. HAD THE VEHICLE STOPPED ON THE INTERSTATE IT COULD CAUSED ACCIDENTS AND/OR PERSONAL INJURY TO ME OR OTHER DRIVERS. THIS WITH JUST UNDER 70,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM WAS CONFIRMED BY ORANGE BUICK GMC SERVICE CENTER ON WEST COLONIAL DRIVE IN ORLANDO FLORIDA, AS WELL AS AT UNIVERSAL AUTOMOTIVE ON TURKEY LAKE ROAD IN ORLANDO FLORIDA. AS TO THE INSPECTION BY THE MANUFACTURER, THE CLOSEST IS ORANGE BUICK GMC. THERE WAS NO ADVANCE WARNING TO ME THAT THIS MIGHT HAPPEN. TWO WEEKS EARLIER I HAD IT AT ORANGE BUICK GMC FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE.
I bought my 2010 GMC Terrain SLE at 160,000. It had a rough start up but the dealer said it was because it was an older car and been sitting for a while. The rough start up never stopped even after replacing the catalytic converter because of code P0420. The mechanic informed of this specific vehicle oil composition so I was consistently checking the oil. A month after the NEW catalytic converter was installed. I stalled out on the interstate with traffic going 65 mph minimum, the wheel locked and I was almost rear ended. I take the vehicle to an automotive shop and I need a new timing chain with numerous new codes. P0325 P0326 P0327 P0016 P0017 P0014.
MY TERRAIN RECENTLY GOT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON THE MECHANIC IS TELLING ME THAT IT IS THE TIMING CHAIN THAT ALL OF THIS VEHICLES HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND I GOT LUCKY IT ONLY JUMPED ONE TOOTH TO REPAIR WILL COST ME AROUND $ 1500 WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IF THIS IS BEEN GOING ON FOR LONG TIME HOW IS IT THAT THIS DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A RECALL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, WHEN SHE HEARD A RATTLING NOISE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RICHARD KAY SUPERSTORE (1935 PEARMAN DAIRY RD, ANDERSON, SC 29625) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT PISTON RINGS FAILURE CAUSED EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, THERE WAS COOLANT IN THE OIL, AND THE ENGINE WAS INTERNALLY CRACKED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
THE EMERGENCY FLASHER BUTTON STICKS DOWN IT STICKS BEING PUSHED IN ALONG WITH THE ECO BUTTON AND I FEEL THE DRIVE SHAFT SHOULD BE MORE DURABLE THAN 155,000 MI OR 11 YEARS
2010 GMC TERRAIN I BOUGHT OFF A DEALERSHIP LOT IN MARCH 2019 NOT KNOWING ALL THE REPORTED ISSUES! BEING A SINGLE MOTHER I THOUGHT I WAS BUYING A FAIRLY PRICED,GAS EFF. RELIABLE CAR.FROM DAY 1 I HAVE HAD COUNTLESS OIL CHANGES, MY TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF AFTER REPLACING STEMS,TIRES NOTHING TURNS THE LIGHT OFF! IT LACKS PICK UP SPEED AND ROUGH GEAR CHANGES. WHILE DRIVING AND COMING TO A STOP IT WOULD HESITATE AND CHUG LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE. I RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT FROM REPLACED THE TIMING CHAIN. UPON TAKING IT HOME,2 DAYS LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT REPLACED THE CHAIN THEY INFORMED ME I LOST 2.5QTS OF OIL IN THOSE 2 DAYS AND THAT ID NEED TO REPLACE OR REBUILD THE ENGINE! MY WARRANTY COMPANY (FIDELITY) WHOM I PURCHASED POWERTRAIN WARRANTY FROM IS TELLING ME IT IS NORMAL WARE AND TARE THEY WILL NOT PAY A THING,AFTER READING ALL THESE REPORTS CLEARLY IT'S NOT NORMAL WARE! I STILL OWE $6,000 AND I DON'T HAVE $3500 TO GET MY CAR BACK! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO OR WHO TO CALL WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HELP? I THOUGHT GMC WAS A REPUTABLE MAKER, WAS I WRONG?
MY EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAS A CRACK/BROKEN IN IT. IT STARTED OUT WITH A LITTLE NOISE, BUT, NOW IT IS ROARING UNDER THE HOOD. EXSESSIVE AMOUNT OF EXHAUST GASSES AND SMELL INTO THE CABIN, AND HAS CAUSED NUMEROUS HEADACHES FROM NOISE AND SMELL. DURING START UP, DRIVING AROUND TOWN, ON THE HIGHWAY, IN THE HOT OR COLD.
DRIVING 50 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, MY CAR DECIDED TO 'REDUCE ENGINE POWER' AND 'SERVICE STABILITRAK' CAME ON, IMMEDIATELY MAKING THE CAR SLOW DANCE FORCIBLY TO 25 MPH. THE CAR WAS SHAKING AND STEPPING ON THE GAS DID NOTHING. THAT'S DANGEROUS, BECAUSE THE PERSON BEHIND ME HAS TO SWERVE OR HIT INTO THE BACK OF ME FOR SUDDEN DROP IN SPEED. YOU GUYS SHOULD KNOW BETTER! HAPPENED TWICE IN ONE DAY. I HAD TO RESTART THE CAR, AND IT HAPPENED GOING ONTO THE BRIDGE. SOMEONE COULD BE SERIOUSLY HURT, OR KILLED. DO BETTER!
The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH and depressing the acceleration pedal, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated the vehicle was restarted several times and the gear shifter was shifted several times before the vehicle started operating as needed. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the timing chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, 5 months later the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 121,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR WOULD NOT GO. CAR SENSOR PREVENTED MY CAR FROM MOVING BECAUSE THE WHEEL BEARINGS WENT OUT ON THE USED CAR I JUST PURCHASED. THE TIMING BELT IS ALSO LOOSE AND THE MOTOR CAN SEIZE UP AT ANY MOMENT. MY ALL WHEEL DRIVE STOPPED WORKING AS WELL BECAUSE OF THIS. I HAD TO PUT ON MY FLASHERS AND TRY TO MAKE IT TO AN AREA WHERE I COULD GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK. I HAVE COPIES THEY WILL NOT DOWNLOAD HERE, BUT AVAILABLE IF NEEDED.
The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact stated the vehicle would not exceed 15 MPH and was consuming a significant amount of engine oil. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the rings needed to be replaced. The contact stated the vehicle was not repaired; however, the engine oil was refilled. The contact stated that the failure persisted, and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer who replaced the rings, the catalytic converter, and the actuator under an unknown recall. The contact stated after the recall repair, the vehicle would inadvertently make abnormal sounds and shudder while driving. The check engine warning light and several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the piston was rubbing against the motor and the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.

DASH HAS CRACKED IN A GARAGE KEPT DENALI. IT IS UNSIGHTLY AND SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.
THE LINK BALL SOCKET BROKE IN THE WIPER TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY CAUSING THE WIPERS TO STOP WORKING WHILE DRIVING IN A HARD RAIN ON THE INTERSTATE. GM HAS A SPECIAL COVERAGE SERVICE ON THIS KNOWN PROBLEM BUT IT HAS A LIMITED DATE AND MILEAGE ON THE COVERAGE. SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT N192266180 WIPER TRANSMISSION ARM LINKAGE FAILURE. THE LETTER NOTIFYING CUSTOMERS OF THIS PROBLEM WERE NOT SENT OUT UNTIL AFTER JANUARY 6, 2020. THAT ALLOWS LESS THAN A FEW MONTHS FOR THE PROBLEM TO BE INSPECTED AND FIXED. I DID NOT RECEIVE A LETTER AS OF JULY 20, 2020. THE REPAIR IS ABOUT $300.
THE VEHICLE WILL SHUTTER VERY HARD WHEN ACCELERATING OUT OF EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT TURNS OR WHEN YOU HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL IN A COMPLETE U-TURN TYPE ACTION. THE SHUDDER IS FELT THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE AND CAN BE VERY ALARMING. IT FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES ARE LOCKED UP. IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED WITH SOME NOTICE TO ALL TERRAIN OWNERS. I HAVE NOW SPENT SERIOUS TIME AND $1K ATTEMPTING TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM.
WIPERS QUIT WHILE DRIVING IN A RAIN STORM. HAD TO HAVE THEM EMERGENCY REPAIRED.
THE WIPER BLADES JUST STOPPED WORKING. NO WIPERS AT ALL. WIPERS JUST STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING. AS FOR ENGINE WHILE DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE THE CAR SUDDENLY SAYS SWITCHING TO LOW POWER MODE AND THE CAR STARTS GOING SLOWER- SCARY WHEN GOING 70 MPH AND THEN SLOWED DOWN WITHOUT YOU DOING IT YOURSELF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH WOULD FLASH AND BECOME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE COMPUTER PANEL WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE TO (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V489000 COMPONENTS VISIBILITY). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,690
2010 GMC TERRAIN WITH V6 LOSS OF POWER, ENGINE CODES TIMING ISSUE, CAMSHAFT SENSOR FAULT, CRANKSHAFT SENSOR FAULT. STABIL-TRACK FAULT. ROUGH IDLE, OIL CONSUMPTION. THE LIST GOES ON. THIS IS A COMMON THING WITH THESE ENGINES AND GM HAS DONE NOTHING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON WITH THIS VEHICLE FOR AWHILE. STAY AWAY FROM GM VEHICLES THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCTS, I WILL BE BUYING A FORD AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW!
IN SEPT. 2017, THE DEALER FIXED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER B/C IT WAS UNDER A "SPECIAL WARRANTY" FOR FREE HOWEVER I HAD TO PAY $582 TO REPLACE THE CRACKED MANIFOLD WHICH CAUSED THE CONVERTER ISSUE. I RECENTLY WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP B/C THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY HAVE TO FIX THE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM THE IS UNDER A "SPECIAL COVERAGE" AND AGAIN I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR ANOTHER CRACKED MANIFOLD. I ASKED WHAT CAUSES IT AND WHY AND WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT KNOW BUT I BELIEVE IT MUST HAVE TO DO WITH THE ORIGINAL CATALYTIC CONVERTER ISSUE. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS A SPECIAL COVERAGE TO FIX THE CC HOWEVER SOMETHING MUST BE CAUSING IT TO FAIL AND GM IS AWARE OF IT.
DRIVING AT 50 MPH IN POURING RAIN THE WINDSHIELD WIPER DETACHED AND GOT STUCK ON DRIVERSIDE OUTSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD WHILE ON HIGH SPEED. THIS RESULTED IN THE WIPERS NON MOVING AND STUCK UPWARD THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THANK GOD NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME OR THIS MAY HAD RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT AS I COULD NOT SEE A THING. I HAD TO LEAN OUT MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW TO SEE A SPOT I COULD SAFETLY PULL OVER. AFTER I DISLODGE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WIPER BLADE THEY STILL WOULDN'T MOVE. MOTOR RUNS, BUT WIPER BLADES DON'T MOVE NOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC TERRAIN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH IN A RAIN STORM, THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING, WHICH CREATED A VISIBILITY HAZARD FOR THE DRIVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROSEVILLE BUICK GMC (2775 LONG LAKE RD, ST. PAUL, MN) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
The contact owns a 2010 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that upon engaging the defroster, the defroster operated with a significant delay. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 09V489000 (Visibility) however, the VIN was not available. The failure mileage was unknown.
ONE NIGHT MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON A COUNTRY TWO LANE ROAD DURING A HEAVY RAIN STORM WHEN THE WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED IN THE STRAIGHT UP POSITION ALMOST OFF THE WINDSHIELD. IT IS ONLY BY GOD THAT SHE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE SHE HAD ZERO VISIBILITY. A SCARY SITUATION BECAUSE SHE WAS MEETING TRAFFIC AND BEHIND HER WAS AN 18 WHEELER BIG TRUCK AND OTHER VARIOUS VEHICLES. AS AN ADDED ISSUE SHE HAD NO PHONE RECEPTION TO CALL FOR HELP, DANGEROUSLY SITTING, BARELY OFF THE ROAD, ON THE 'SMALL' SHOULDER OF THAT TWO LANE ROAD AS A YOUNG WOMAN WITH NO HELP IN A HEAVY RAINSTORM. SHE HAD TO SIT AND WAIT UNTIL THE RAIN STOPPED TO PROCEED TO A SAFE AREA, FORTUNATELY WITHOUT AN INCIDENT, THANK GOD. UPON INSPECTION IT WAS NOTED THAT THE FAILURE OF THE WIPER SYSTEM WAS RELATED TO THE PLASTIC GROMMET COMING APART FROM THE METAL BALL IN WHICH IT WAS ATTACHED. POOR DESIGN SHOULD BE NOTED IN THAT THIS ATTACHMENT IS UPSIDE DOWN. A CONSTANT WEAR IS GOING TO TAKE PLACE BEING A PLASTIC GROMMET SURROUNDING A METAL BALL IN THE UPSIDE DOWN POSITION ALLOWING WATER AND DIRT TO ENTER THE JOINT FURTHER INCITING THE POSSIBILITY OF A DISLODGING IN THE FUTURE. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN OR WHERE THIS WILL HAPPEN, OR WHAT SITUATION YOU MIGHT BE IN, FURTHER PROMOTING THE POSSIBILITY FOR AN ACCIDENT AND SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THANKFULLY GOD GUIDED MY DAUGHTER TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND KEPT HER SAFE. IN ALL MY YEARS OF DRIVING I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS TYPE OF ISSUE BEING SO PREVALENT IN SO MANY MODEL YEARS, AND THE SAFETY CONCERNS ASSOCIATED WITH IT AND NO RECALL TO BE ISSUED BY THE MANUFACTURER! WAKE UP GM, LIVES ARE IMPORTANT TOO!
I ONLY HAD MY CAR FOR JUST ABOUT ONE YEAR. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ENDED UP COMING ON AND I FOUND THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS THE CULPRIT. NO MATTER WHAT I DO THIS SENSOR COMES ON. NOW HERE RECENTLY, THE LIGHT TO CHECK THE AIRBAG SYSTEM HAS COME ON. I HAVE ONCE BEFORE CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE, BUT THERE SUPPOSEDLY WERE NONE, YET I SEE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES THAT I AM HAVING ON TOP OF THE DEFROST SYSTEM BEING NO GOOD. THIS CAR HAS COST ME MORE THAN IT IS WORTH AND SELLING IT WOULD JUST LEAVE ME WITH NOTHING BECAUSE I STILL OWE ON IT. I NEED FIXES AND ANSWERS BEFORE THIS THING ENDS UP IN FLAMES WHICH IS WHAT I FEAR EACH DAY I DRIVE IT. THIS BEGAN IN AUGUST OF LAST YEAR AND NOW I AM GETTING SCARED FOR MY LIFE.
THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE COULD CAUSE VEHICLE TO BREAK DOWN AND GMC WANTS PEOPLE TO PAY FOR TEST IF USED. THATS NOT RIGHT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, WITHOUT WARNING THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BECAME INOPERABLE WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A GUARD RAIL. THERE WAS NO INJURIES. THERE WAS NO POLICE REPORT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED OR MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PIIR= Y. AH
