I was driving home last evening in the rain and with no warning my windshield wipers quit working. My visibility was severely impaired and this could have caused a very serious accident.
On my back doors driver side and passenger side there is no child lock and when I lock all doors from inside while driving the back doors can still be opened allowing my baby child to open the door which is not safe
Check engine light on took to dealer and they ran diagnostic. Timing chain is also on its way out. I am the original owner. "Water in PCV system obstruction in the secondary air system." I had this cleaned out a few years ago $500.00. If the PCV freezes without warning, the engine will seize. No warning for PCV, just visual inspection from tech at dealer.
It was snowing. I cleared all the snow off my vehicle and warmed it up. I went to turn my wipers on, and they didn't work. The wipers just won't turn on.
When I entered the vehicle to drive on a rainy day the windshield wipers would not come on after I moved the arm up. They would sometimes work when on "INT" but would not stay on and they would not work at all in the low or hi mode. There were no warning lights on. There has currently been no inspection. This caused me to have to drive home in the rain with poor visibility because the wipers would not work properly, as the "INT" mode would turn on and off randomly and not in the typical pattern on "INT" mode.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that upon checking the oil reservoir, he noticed that the oil was low despite recently having an oil change performed. The contact replenished the oil; however, he began to notice that the vehicle was vibrating with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to three independent mechanics; the first two were unable to diagnose the failure; however, the third dealer diagnosed the vehicle with a defective camshaft phaser. The contact called the dealer about the failure; however, they were unable to offer any assistance. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 152,000.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that while reversing out of her driveway, the vehicle started making abnormal knocking sounds. The check engine warning light illuminated. The contact parked the vehicle. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the battery was severely corroded and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 113,000.
There is a known issue with the oil consumption in multiple other GM models with the same 2.4 engine. Even after getting my routine oil change unpon checking my oil it was completely empty. This issue causes the vehicle to idle when there is no excelleration and it has even cut off twice within the past 5 months due to this issue. The recall was brought to my attention by the GMC service department where I purchased the vehicle while I was explaining the current issue. There are no alerts that the vehicle is completely out of oil, the check engine light never came in and there were no other warning signs, even when the vehicle has cut off.
Engine failure - car engine turned off when I stopped at a stop sign. Car warning lights flashed. Had to shut ignition off and turn on again. Car started again, but with check engine light staying on. From that point on, every time I would slow down for traffic lights, stop signs, turns or for any other reason when slowing down, the car would shut off. This was extremely dangerous in traffic as it would stall out randomly when slowing down. The car did not give any indication of any pending problems. Windshield wipers - stopped dead during a heavy rainstorm while traveling on a highway. Wipers were completely non-functional in any mode. Had to try to pull off the highway and park as driving visibility was non-existent. Safety to myself and others was completely compromised as I could not see to drive. No warning signs or messages to advise of this problem coming.
November 18,2021: Driving vehicle on the freeway 70mph, for 1.5 hours, then exit to a main street within speed limit during rush hour traffic. Parked the vehicle for 2.5 hours in a parking lot, returned to vehicle, turned onto street drove about 2 miles,30mph. The vehicle made a sound as if metal was being dragged, I tried to align the wheels but it was difficult. I turned on the emergency flashers & struggled to pull into a gas station parking lot, looked underneath the vehicle but saw nothing. The 2015 GMC Terrain AWD (less than 80,000miles) had to be towed to the GMC Dealership. November 19, 2021 service rep stated that the transfer case was damaged. Something broke a loose inside the case & caused damage, there are metal shavings visible. Cost for part, $2200 My response to him: What is a transfer case? Why is the part not inspected during regular maintenance? What warning would I have received if there was something wrong? Because it is a 2015 model & the platform for the vehicle has changed, GM supplier has to manufacture the part. It’s June 2022, the dealership notified me on the 10th that the part has been received. I can’t be the only consumer that has experienced this issue. In hindsight, luckily I was not on the freeway when this situation occurred.
As I was navigating my way home on Nov. 3, 2021 the windshield wipers stop working and it was dark and pouring down raining. There was no warning. Then the radio started acting weird the bluetooth went away and I could not get it back on the screen to connect. I tried turning on and off the radio but it would not turn off. The biggest danger to my life was that I could not see so I had to keep pulling on side streets to wipe the windshield so I could make it home in the dark and pouring rain. When the bluetooth stopped connecting I had to pull over again and pipe the directions through my phone to continue to navigate home. The windshield wiper can be confirmed by the dealer because it still did not turn on today. The radio turned on and off today and the bluetooth icon was back.
On 10/25/2021 at approximately 5:40 AM, I was on my way to work. It was raining and dark at that time so of course I had the wipers on. As I proceeded to get onto the highway, the wipers completely stopped as I exited the on ramp. Immediately I had to maneuver to the shoulder of the highway. Considering I couldn't see that could have easily been an accident since my visibility was 0 as well as being parked on the side of the highway for a prolonged period. My husband came and traded vehicles with me. He eventually got my vehicle off the highway and to a repair shop where they diagnosed the problem: the wiper transmission went out. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone. There were no warnings that this problem was going to occur
This is NOT a vehicle issue, but an issue of Wiper Blade manufacture. I Purchased Michelin Guardian wiper blades for my 2015 GMC Terrain which has the large PTB arm latching system. The Michelin blades do not latch securely into the arm and can be easily removed by hand without touching the latch release. My concern is the blades may become unsecured by normal usage and fly off the vehicle leaving the driver stranded who knows where. My thought scenario is between rest areas on the Indiana Toll Road between the Ohio state line and Chicago, IL. Imagine a retirement aged senior citizen in such a predicament. I have replaced the Michelin blades with Rain-X which latch securely and will return the Michelin blades. My concern is for the un-aware, un-suspecting driver who may experience the latch failure I have described. FYI, Michelin has not responded to my correspondence to them on this issue.
I was driving with my elderly mother and granddaughter home from a wedding. We were traveling from Peoria, Illinois to Camden, Ohio. About 50 or 60 miles into the 300 mile trip, the windshield wipers abruptly quit working. It was raining heavily and we we on busy interstate route 74. We had to blindly cut across 2 lanes of traffic to get to the right side of the road! The wiper malfunction was not the fault of a blown fuse. I had to be escorted by a police officer to the nearest exit for obvious safety reasons. We were stranded for hours. The rain did not diminish. I had to drive slowly on the back roads to finally reach my destination 8 hours later. It was a frightening experience. I took it to a trusted mechanic. It was diagnosed as a bad motor and transmission assembly. The cost was $350. Thankfully we were not injured. But I am afraid to travel in the rain anymore.
Timing chain issues on this model similar to the 2010-2013 models that had a class action lawsuit. The timing belt is damaged due to high oil consumption. Damage to timing belt can cause person to loose control of vehicle resulting in injury or even death.
The wiper motor has stopped working. The wipers do no move when turned on. This is dangerous because it is impossible to drive the car when it is raining if the wipers are not working. Visibility is greatly impaired during a storm if the wipers are not effectively able to disperse the rainwater off of the windshield. I have replaced the wiper motor multiple times and the issue continues to occur.
Driving on 2 lane country road. It started raining and progressively started raining heavily. I had my wipers first on low then a notch up, then up again. Then on to high with the heavier rain. After a couple of swipes, a pop and my wipers stopped in the farthest upright position. Luckily there wasn't a lot of traffic and I was able to pull over. I was 6 miles from a nearby town so I was able to put my flashers on and drive 20 mph and kept pulling over for traffic to pass me. I have now learned this is a safety issue that was recalled on the 2013 they tried to enforce it from 2010 to 2016 models which was not accepted but they did say it is now a special coverage but I do have to get it into a GMC dealership for them to do that. GMC should allow any dealership or private individual to be able to diagnose this and then still have that reimbursement to that individual for the part and their labo. It's ridiculous that now we have to have it taken to a GMC dealership and stuck in line to get this taken care of.
The vehicle last ran on 8/16/21. Then I had a surgery the next day and tried to drive it on 8/17 only to find out it wouldn’t work. Then I had emergency surgery because of an infection from first surgery. So after surgeries and recuperation I am just getting the car estimated for repair and found out need new engine. Trying to find out if any recalls or warranty (purchased from Kia after a lease was returned in August of 2018 and there isn’t a warranty with Kia.
Driving on highway 70mps all of a sudden starts raining, then down, wipers turned on and working no issue All of a sudden they stopped working!! On a Highway, storming and I couldn’t see at all. I could not see enough to even pull over!!!! I put my hazards on immediately and rear wiper Slowed down to get over 2 lanes to the berm of the road, could not see anything in front of me opened side windows a bit Went under a bridge to try to see where I was i saw that a few miles up the road was exit…. Crawled along the berm not being able to see until got to the exit… pulled in gas station… checked fuses all fine Bought rain x to put on the window to get me home Rain had slowed down enough got me home
1. The component that malfunctioned was the wiper transmission and it is available for inspection upon request. 2. A thunderstorm came while driving in the vehicle. The windshield wipers were turned on and by the third rotation the wiper just stopped. It was a heavy rain and there was no visibility. The hazard lights were put on and the vehicle was slowly driven to the side of the street, where it was safe to wait. Other vehicles blew horns and gave quick flashes high beams as the vehicle was driven to the side of the street where it was safe. There the hazard lights were on and the wipers did not work. There could have been an accident because the wipers malfunctioned.
During rain storm with wipers going, wiper blades became disconnected from wiper motor resulting in complete failure of windshield wiper function.
My windshield wipers snapped off in the middle of a storm. I had them replaced and submitted all the paperwork to GMC. They have not reimbursed me. My wife was driving home at night from school when a thunder shower popped up. She tried her windshield wipers and they did not work. It was a very serious situation as she was driving on rural roads with no place to pull over. It sounds like the wipers become disconnected from the motor somehow as you can hear it running. I have seen on another site that this seems to be a common problem with these vehicles and should be recalled as it happens suddenly and could cause injury.
During heavy storm front windshield wipers stopped working. Windshield wiper motor still functioning as when i moved the wipers to see if the were stuck i can still hear the motor. Busy road speed limit 55 mph 2 lane county road with frequent hills. Turned on emergency flashers and luckily had a passenger to assist guiding me to the first driveway about .5 miles ahead so i could wait for rain to stop.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that while driving in the rain, the windshield wipers became inoperable. There were no warning lights illuminated. The approximate failure mileage was 74,115.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Terrain. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH at night, the headlights became inoperable. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number 22V137000 (Exterior Lighting). The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR DURING A RAINSTORM AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY SITUATION.
WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON THE HIGHWAY IN POURING RAIN, HAD WIPERS ON AT HIGHEST SPEED. THEY SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING, MY DRIVER WIPER WAS HANGING OVER THE EDGE OF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD, LIKE IT HAD BEEN FORCED TOO FAR TO THE LEFT. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I COULDN'T SEE A THING DUE TO THE DOWNPOUR. HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. WIPERS WON'T WORK AT ALL. ONCE THE RAIN STOPPED, GOT THE CAR HOME, CHANGED OUT THE FUSE, NO LUCK. ASSUMING IT'S THE WIPER MOTOR. CAN'T GET INTO SHOP DUE TO RAIN EVERY DAY THIS WEEK.
AT ROUGHLY 106500 MILES OUR TERRAIN STARTED 'JUMPING' WHEN STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. WE BROUGHT IT IN AND OUR OILS WAS LOW EVEN THOUGH WE ARE REGULAR IN OIL CHANGES AND CHECK IT REGULARLY. AFTER A FRESH OIL CHANGE THE DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T TELL WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM AND TO COME BACK IN 500 MILES TO CHECK IT AGAIN. AT 107000 MILES WE BROUGHT IT BACK IN AS ASKED. THE OIL WAS SLIGHTLY LOW BUT THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL AFTER TALKING TO THE MECHANIC TO LET US KNOW IF WE SHOULD HAVE CONCERN. SHORTLY AFTER WE DROVE IT TO WORK WITH NO SOUNDS OR MOVEMENT ISSUES BUT AFTER WHEN WE STARTED IT BACK UP IT SOUNDED MADE LOTS OF NOISE. THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE ENGINE. WE HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A GOOD CHANCE IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN BECAUSE THEY HAD SEEN IT ON SOME OTHER TERRAINS AS WELL. THEY ANTICIPATED JUST NEEDING TO REDO THE TIMING CHAIN SINCE WE HADN'T BEEN MOVING WHEN IT HAD ISSUES AGAIN BUT THE ENGINE HAS DAMAGE AS IF IT'S BEEN HAVING ISSUES FOR A BIT AND WE NEED A NEW ENGINE. FROM WHAT I'VE GATHERED THERE SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE TIMING CHAINS STRETCHING/BREAKING AND DESTROYING THE ENGINES ON THIS MODEL. I'M SURPRISED THAT I HAVEN'T SEEN A RECALL YET. OUR BILL WAS GOING TO BE 1500 AND NOW WE ARE ANTICIPATING 9000 FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. WE ARE JUST FORTUNATE WE WEREN'T DRIVING WHEN IT DID. HAD WE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS ONGOING ISSUE AHEAD OF TIME WHEN WE FIRST EXPERIENCED THE LOSS OF OIL AND THE JUMPING WE COULD HAVE CAUGHT IT IN TIME TO FIX IT.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE CAUSEWAY DURING A RAIN STORM AND THE LEFT WIPER BLADE STOPPED WORKING IN AN UP POSITION AND THE RIGHT BLADE KEPT WORKING AND CROSSING THE STATIONARY LEFT BLADE. NEEDLESS TO SAY VISIBILITY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS SEVERELY IMPAIRED.
I NOTICED MY OIL L WAS LEAKING SEVERELY. I HAD TO ADD OIL BETWEEN CHANGES EVEN. ENDED UP HAVING BOTH SEALS REPLACED LESS THE 2 MONTHS AGO. IT IS STILL LEAKING. I HAVE TO HAVE MY OIL CHANGED EVERY 2 WEEKS AND ADD 2-5 QUARTS BETWEEN CHANGES. JUST PUT MY 2015 TERRAIN BACK IN THE SHOP AT THE DEALERSHIP. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS KNOWN ISSUES WITH THE PISTON RINGS IN PREVIOUS MODELS. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS KNOWN PROBLEM? I JUST SPENT ALMOST $3000 2 MONTHS AGO AND AM PROBABLY LOOKING AT THAT MUCH AGAIN TO HAVE THE ISSUE FIXED. IT'S MY DAILY DRIVER VEHICLE. I LIVE OUT IN THE COUNTY SO IT'S A COMBINATION OR HIGHWAY AND CITY DRIVING. I DO NOT DRIVE CRAZY OR HARD. I ROUTINELY TAKE CARE OF ALL MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE. THERE IS NO REASON I SHOULD BE HAVING THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 GMC DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED AND WAS UNABLE TO UPSHIFT INTO THE HIGHER GEARS. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER STERLING BUICK GMC (5853 FRONTAGE RD. I 49 SOUTH, OPELOUSAS, LA 70570, (337) 942-3516) AND MADE THE DEALER AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 148,000.
AS I'M DRIVING IN SNOWING CONDITIONS AND ROAD MUST FROM TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME, THE WIPER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE STOPPED WORKING. I HAD TO STOP AND GET OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE TO DRIVE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DECELERATE WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE SAW BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AS HE WAS PULLING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS A BROKEN PART IN THE ENGINE AND THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE LOCAL DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, THE DRIVER'S SIDE WIPER STOPPED WORKING DURING A HEAVY RAINSTORM. THE PASSENGER SIDE WORKS PERFECTLY. I SAW WHERE THE 2013 MODELS HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS SAME ISSUE.
I HAD A BRAND NEW MOTOR PUT IN MY CAR AT 73547 MILES AND NOW AT 124079 I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WON'T PAY FOR IT BECAUSE THE 100,000 WARRANTY IS UP. THE NEW PARTS THAT I PUT IN MY CAR WILL HAVE A WARRANTY, BUT THE NEW MOTOR THAT I PUT IN MY CAR WENT UNDER THE OLD POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING TO DEALERSHIP TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND I HAD IT TOWED RIGHT AWAY TO FM DEALER.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, IT BEGINS TO RAIN, I ENABLE THE WHIPERS TO ASSIST WITH CLEARING THE WINDOW. THIS WORKS FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN ALL OF SUDDEN WHIPERS QUIT WORKING WHILE IN MOTION IN THE RAIN. THIS IS NOT GOOD AT ALL. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE CAUSING AN IMPAIRMENT TO VISIBILITY
DATE 12/31/20 7:25AM LEXINGTON KY I HAD JUST LEFT WORK AND WAS HEADING HOME NORTHBOUND ON I-75 TOWARD GEORGETOWN EXIT #125 DURING A HEAVY RAIN. I CAN NOT RECALL USING MY MAX WIPER INTERVAL SPEED BEFORE THIS INCIDENT. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THREE LANES WITH A SPEED AROUND 50MPH AND MY WIPERS STOPPED WORKING! I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY TRANSITION LANES TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE. ONCE THE RAIN SUBDUED SOME, I WAS ABLE TO EVALUATE THE ISSUE. I COULD HEAR THE MOTOR OPERATING BUT THE WIPERS WERE NOT MOVING. I COULD MANUALLY MOVE THE WIPERS FREELY WITH EASE; THEREFORE MOVED THEM DOWN FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. I WAS VERY FORTUNATE THAT AN ACCIDENT DID NOT OCCUR! EXTREMELY TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE.
ON DECEMBER 19, 2020 I MADE A TRIP IN MY 2015 GMC TERRAIN. THE TEMPERATURE WAS 16 DEGREES. UPON ARRIVING HOME, I NOTICED A LARGE PUDDLE OF FRESH OIL COMING FROM THE TERRAIN. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE ADVISED TO BRING IT TO HIS SHOP. I ADDED TWO QUARTS OF OIL TO THE TERRAIN AND I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HIS GARAGE. HE SAID HE WOULD CALL ME AFTER HE ACCESSED THE SITUATION. LATER THAT DAY, HE CALLED AND SAID GM HAD A RECALL ON 2012, 2013, & 2014 MODEL TERRAINS WITH THIS ENGINE BUT NOT THE 2015. THE PROBLEM HE ADVISED WAS IN COLD WEATHER THE CONDENSATION INTHE VALVE COVER FROZE, CAUSING OIL PRESSURE TO CLIMB AND EXIT OUT ENGINE MAIN REAR SEAL. THE SAME PLACE AS HAD HAPPENED ON MY TERRAIN. THE GM RECALL WAS# 14882. I CALLED GM AND SENT A LLETTER TO THEM . I WAS ASSIGNED CASE I WAS ADVISED TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO BURDICK CHEVROLE, CICERO, NY. UPON CONTACTING BURDICK CHEVROLET, I WAS ADVISED BY A SERVICE MANAGER THAT BURDICK DOES NOT RATE OTHER MECHANICS WORK. HE ALSO STATED THERE WAS NO WAY TO REMOVE THE ENGINE AND TAKE IT APART AS THE CORRECT PARTS WERE INSIDE THE ENGINE. HE STATED THEY WOULD NOT DO THAT. I THEN CONTACTED GM AND ADVISED THE WORK WAS ALL DONE INTERNAL OF THE ENGINE AND IT WAS NOT ABLE TO VERIFY THE WORK. I WAS THEN ADVISED THERE WAS NO WAY I WOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR ANY OR ALL OF THE $1648 BILL BECAUSE THE 2015 YEAR WAS NOT ON THE RECALL 14882. ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2021 AFTER RUNNING ERRANDS, UPON RETURNING HOME, I AGAIN OBSERVED A LARGE OIL PUDDLE OF OIL IN MY DRIVEWAY. I CALLED MY WIFE AND ADVISED HER OF THE OIL PUDDLE. SHE ADVISED SHE WAS AT CHURCH, APPROX 4 MILES AWAY. I IMMEDIATELY DROVE THERE AND OBSERVED MORE OIL UNDER THE TERRAIN. THERE WAS NO OIL REGISTERING ON THE DIP STICK. I ADDED 3 QUARTS OF OIL I DROVE THE TERRAIN 3 MILES TO THE MECHANICS SHOP AGAIN. HE INSTALLED ANOTHER REAR ENGINE MAIN SEAL.
WIPER HAVE QUIT WORKING. IT APPEARS TO BE A LINKAGE ISSUE. NOTICED WHEN IT STARTED RAINING AS WE WERE DRIVING HOME. WE WERE FAIRLY CLOSE TO HOME AND MADE IT HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE TERRAIN
VEHICLE SEEMS TO BE STUCK IN 4WD, UNABLE TO SWITCH OUT OF IT. CANNOT TURN VEHICLE.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger's side air bag sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 GMC DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THEIR HUSBAND WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, WHEN THE TRAFFIC CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP CAUSING THE CONTACT TO APPLY THE BRAKES TO THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKING PEDAL EXCESSIVELY, HOWEVER, THE BRAKES DID NOT STOP AND THE BRAKES WERE FLOORED. THE VEHICLE ENDED UP REAR ENDING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. THE AIR BAGS DID DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND TOTALED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE PASSENGER RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE CHEST AND LOWER ABDOMEN AREA. THE ONLY MEDICAL ATTENTION RECEIVED WAS BY EMT AT TIME OF THE CRASH. THE DEALER (CARDINALE GMC 2 HEITZINGER PLAZA, SEASIDE, CA 93955, (831) 322-4112) WAS MADE AWARE. THE CONTACT STATED THEY RECEIVED A NOTICE REGARDING THEIR VEHICLE HAVING ANTI-LOCK BRAKING ISSUES AFTER THE CRASH HAD OCCURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *LN*DT*DT*JB THE CONSUMER PROVIDED PHOTOS. *TR
DRIVING DOWN ROAD AT 60 MPH IN POURING RAIN. WIPERS CROSSED EACH OTHER THEN JUST STOPPED WORKING. ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENT!!
THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIME IN THE CITY CROSSING AN INTERSECTION USUALLY AT SLOW SPEED BRAKING AND TURNING AND ALL THE SUDDEN I LOSE EVERYTHING. NO STEERING ELECTRICAL AND BRAKING. THE PARK ASSIST WILL SOMETIMES START GOING OFF LIKE CRAZY JUST BEFORE IT HAPPENS, BUT NOT ALL THE TIME. PUT IN PARK AND OPEN THE DOOR IT COMES BACK ON. THEN SAYS ROLL DOWN DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW AND THEN BACK UP. AT ON TIME I DID HAVE IT HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY. I WAS GETTING READY TO PASS AND GIVING IT GAS AND EVERYTHING SHUT DOWN FOR A SPLIT SECOND AND THEN TOOK OFF AGAIN. THIS PROBLEM IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED.
VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN ON RURAL STATE HIGHWAY CONTAINING HILLS AND CURVES TO GET SERVICED FOR LOW TIRES. ABOUT 20 MINUTES INTO DRIVE THE SEAT HEATER WAS TURNED ON. ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER THE RADIO, SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, FUEL, TEMPERATURE GAUGES AND TURN SIGNALS QUIT WORKING. A TOOL SYMBOL SHOWED UP ON THE OPTIONS SCREEN. DURING THE REST OF THE DRIVE THE RADIO WOULD COME ON INTERMITTENTLY. AT THE SERVICE CENTER A CODE SCANNER SHOWED NO CODES. THE VEHICLE BATTERY (NEW) WAS CHECKED AND CABLES WERE CHECKED FOR LOOSE CONNECTIONS AND CORROSION. THE ISSUE CONTINUED THROUGHOUT THE SERVICE. AFTER SERVICE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS. AT STARTUP FOR THE RETURN DRIVE THE ISSUE HAD SELF CORRECTED AND DID NOT RETURN.
DRIVING IN POURING DOWN RAIN AND WIPERS JUST STOPPED! VERY SCARY AND THANKFUL WE WERE ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD TO GET A GAS STATION BUT I HAD ZERO VISIBILITY
1. WHILE DRIVING, THE COLLISION ALERT WILL RANDOMLY GO OFF AND DECELERATE THE VEHICLE, EVEN IF THERE ARE NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING PERIODICALLY FOR THE LAST COUPLE YEARS, BUT IS GETTING WORSE AND MORE FREQUENT. IT FEELS LIKE IT SHIFTS TO NEUTRAL AND ENGAGES THE BRAKES. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED US TO BE HIT BY CARS BEHIND US ON THE INTERSTATE. 2. FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO TELL THE MILAGE ON THE CAR IS. THAT SENSOR WENT OUT AND THE GMC MECHANIC THAT I HAD FIXING A DIFFERENT ISSUE WITH THE CAR STALLING RANDOMLY (WHICH I NOW DISCOVER IS A VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THIS VEHICLE, BUT NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY AS IT HAPPENS A FEW THOUSAND MILES AFTER FULL WARRANTY EXPIRES-THIS WAS 2017) THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH TERRAINS AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY (SHOCKER). AND I'M NOT WILLING TO BUT THE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS NECESSARY TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
USING THE ON RAMP TO A HIGHWAY, DURING VERY HEAVY RAIN WITH MY FRONT WIPERS IN HIGH MODE, THEY JUST STOPPED WORKING. IT WAS A VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS SITUATION. I WAS TOLD BY A FRIEND THEY THINK IT'S THE ARM PIECE THAT MOVES THE WIPERS BACK AND FORTH THAT IS BROKE
