WHILE DRIVING IN A RAINSTORM THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING, LEAVING ME VULNERABLE TO A POSSIBLE FATALITY AS I COULD NOT SEE. I HAD NO PREVIOUS INDICATION THAT THIS WAS ABOUT TO OCCUR. SERVICE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION INSIDE THE MOTOR OF THE WIPERS HAD FAILED. THE DEALER STATED IT WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. MY VEHICLE HAS UNDER 60,000 MILES AS OF THIS DATE, THEREFORE I DISAGREE WITH THE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR REASONING. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE NOT USED DAILY AND AT EVERY START OF USAGE, UNLIKE A STARTER OR BRAKE USAGE, ETC.. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE VEHICLE. NO WARRANTY ON SUCH PRODUCT AND NO RECALL. IT COST ME OVER $400 TO REPAIR. I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS AND THEY STATED THAT EVEN THOUGH THIS ISSUE HAD BEEN NOTED AND ONLY RECALLED IN CANADA, BUT NOT THE U.S. I REITERATED THAT THIS OCCURRENCE JUST NOW HAPPENED TO ME AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND A FATALITY CAN ENSUE. GENERAL MOTORS OFFERED ME NO RESOLUTION.
2015 TERRAIN (DENALI) WIPER TRANSMISSION JOINT FAILURES (2) TIMES IN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS. WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY DURING RAINY WEATHER; WIPERS STOP, DANGEROUSLY IMPAIRING VISIBILITY FAR FROM HOME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RADIO AND BACK-UP CAMERA DID NOT WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GREEN BUICK GMC (563-484-5147, LOCATED AT 3210 E KIMBERLY RD, DAVENPORT, IA 52807) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIO UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE UNIT WAS ON BACKORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000.
THERE IS WATER LEAKING (POSSIBLY FROM THE AIR CONDITIONER) ONTO THE FLOORBOARD OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THIS HAS CAUSED MOLD TO FORM AND GROW IN THE CARPETING. IT IS CONSTANT AND IS GETTING WORSE.
MY VEHICLE IS UNDER 60K MILES AND ONE DAY I WOKE UP WENT TO DRIVE IT MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY VEHICLE STARTED TO SPUTTER AND TRY TO DIE OUT WHILE DRIVING IN A SCHOOL ZONE GOING 20 MPH. THEN AFTER MAKING IT TO MY DESTINATION I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND IT DIED OUT ON ME. I STARTED IT RIGHT BACK UP IT DIED AS SOON AS IT HIT REVERSE AGAIN. FINALLY I WAS ABLE TO START IT AND COAST BACKWARDS THEN PLACE IT IN DRIVE. I HAD RECENTLY GOTTEN GAS AND THOUGHT MAYBE SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE GAS BUT IM SEEING THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR MORE PEOPLE THAN JUST ME. SO DISAPPOINTING BC IT IS A LEASE AND MY LEASE IS UP IN ONE MONTH SO NOW IM HELD LIABLE TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT I FEEL LIKE SHOULD BE A RECALL. I'VE ALWAYS STAYED UP ON MY OIL CHANGES, AND MAINTENANCE AND IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE QUALITY OF THIS VEHICLE.
WINDSHIELD WIPER LINKAGE CAME LOSE IN A HARD RAIN ON I-55 CAUSING A NEAR ACCIDENT. STOPPED AT THE NEXT AUTO PARTS STORE (AUTO ZONE) AND BOUGHT THE PART AND REPLACED IT ON THE SPOT. *TR
TAKATA AIRBAG THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND I SEE A PREVIOUS RECALL BUT NOW NONE THAT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE. CAN YOU ADVISE IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT FALLS UNDER THE PRIOR RECALL?
WIPER TRANSMISSION FAILED IN A RAIN STORM WITH 70000 MILES. SAME PROBLEM AS 2013 TERRAIN. REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES AT 65000 DO TO 2 TIRES LOSING AIR SINCE NEW, WHEN THEY WERE REPLACING VALVE STEMS TWO OF THEM FELL OUT DUE TO NOT INSTALLED RITE FROM FACTORY!!
WHILE DRIVING THRU A ROUND ABOUT GOING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH IN TRAFFIC MY WIPER SUDDENLY STOP WITHOUT NOTICE. THIS WAS IN A HEAVY RAIN AND MY VISIBILITY WENT TO ZERO. I MANAGED TO SLOW AND PULL THE VEHICLE OVER AFTER NAVIGATING THE ROUNDABOUT. MY WIPER LINKAGE WAS CORRODED THE MOTOR WAS FUNCTIONAL AFTER INSPECTION
I WAS DRIVING ON RT 1 SOUTH IN A RAIN STORM AT NIGHT, DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH, PUT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON FULL AND THE WIPERS COMPLETELY STOPPED. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND PULL INTO A GAS STATION. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE WIPERS BUT THE WIPERS WOULD NOT START WORKING. I COULD NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS I COULD NOT SEE IN THE RAIN AND NEEDED TO HAVE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. AAA TOWED MY TERRAIN TO THE COLEMAN'S DEALERSHIP IN LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ AS AAA SAID IT WAS A SAFELY ISSUE SO THEY COULD NOT TOW TO A RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND MANY OTHER 2015 TERRAIN OWNERS HAD THE SAME ISSUE (CANADA HAD A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE). THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND MANIFESTS DURING POOR DRIVING CONDITIONS (HEAVY RAIN & USUALLY ON A HIGHWAY). IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR THERE IS A FATALITY DUE TO HAVING ZERO VISIBILITY ON A HIGHWAY IN THE RAIN.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT NIGHT DURING A THUNDERSTORM WITH EXTREMLY LOW VISIBILITY WHEN, WITHOUT NOTICE, MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS ABRUPTLY STOPPED WORKING. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. I HAD TO INCH MY WAY TO SAFETY TO AVOID BEING HIT. THE WIPERS WILL NOT COME ON, BUT A HUMMING SOUND IS DETECTABLE. THE REPAIR SHOP SPECULATES THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE MOTOR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 GMC TERRAIN. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ONCE THE RAIN DISSIPATED, THE CONTACT DROVE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BALL JOINTS CONNECTED TO THE WIPERS WERE DISJOINTED. THE WIPERS WERE REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
VEHICLE PURCHASE FROM COULTER CADILLAC TEMPE AZ - 9/1/2018. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURED 3 TIMES. DEALER ACKNOWLEDGES "WE PUT YOU IN A BAD CAR". PROBLEM: VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION (STREET/INTERSECTION/HIGHWAY), WILL JUST "SHUT DOWN" AND MOVE IN "LIMP MODE" FASHION. THE ENGINE AND STABILITY LIGHTS WILL APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD AND ON THE MOST RECENT EVENT, ALL THE GAUGES ON THE DASHBOARD SHUT DOWN. AFTER THE SHUT DOWN,1 & 2 GEARS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. IN ORDER TO MOVE THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO REACH A SPEED BETWEEN 20 / 30 MILES AN HOUR IN ORDER FOR THE 3RD GEAR TO ENGAGE. THE LAST TIME THIS SITUATION HAPPENED WAS ON THE FREEWAY @ 65 MPH. I WAS IN THE HOV LANE WITH MY 3.5 YEAR OLD GRANDSON AND MY WIFE. ALL THE TRAFFIC @ 4:45 PM ON THE NORTHBOUND LANE OF THE AZ 17 HIGHWAY CAME TO A STOP BECAUSE OF THE RIPPLING EFFECT THIS PROBLEM CAUSED. FORTUNATE FOR US, OTHER DRIVERS ALLOWED TO US TRAVERSE TO THE OFF RAMP. THE DEALER INDICATED THE PROBLEM WAS THE BATTERY THAT BROUGHT THE CAR TO A STOP AND "LIMP MODE". THERE WERE NO BATTERY WARNING LIGHTS VISIBLE ON THE DASHBOARD TELLING ME THE BATTERY WAS IN DANGER OF FAILING AS NOTED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL. ALL 3 TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED, THE DEALER HAS PROVIDED 3 DIFFERENT SOLUTIONS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE SEEN ON THIS WEB SITE NO LESS THAN 15 COMPLAINTS RAISING THIS PROBLEM TO THE NHTSA ATTENTION. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM COULTER/GMC AND THE NHTSA NEED TO TAKE ACTION TO REMOVE/RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. SEE ATTACHED EXHIBIT T / U / O.

THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO A SAFE LOCATION AND TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE VIA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT CALLED RAY SKILLMAN HOOSIER FORD AT (765-342-3673, LOCATED AT 333 ROBERT CURRY DR, MARTINSVILLE, IN 46151) AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VANDEVERE CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 1490 VERNON ODOM BLVD, AKRON, OH 44320, (330) 800-0230) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I ALREADY HAD MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS GOING AND TURNED THEM UP HIGHER, THE WIPER WENT TOO FAR OVER MY WINDSHIELD AND GOT CAUGHT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF MY CAR. PUT IT BACK INTO PLACE BUT WASN'T MOVING. MULTIPLE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS LATER THEY MOVE AGAIN. THEY WIPERS WERE PUT ON PROPERLY AND HAD BEEN FINE FOR MONTHS PRIOR ON THE LOWER SETTING, SO THIS HAS TO BE A MANUFACTURING ERROR, I HOPE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN.
POWER LIFT GATE WILL NOT OPEN. THE LIFT GATE WAS WORKING BUT WOULD NOT STAY IN THE UP POSITION. I HAD TO REPLACE THE LIFT GATE SUPPORT STRUT. AFTER REPLACING THE RIGHT STRUT THE GATE WOULD NOT OPEN USING THE KEY FOB, OR THE BOTTON INSIDE OF VEHICLE, NOR WILL IT LIFT WHEN USING THE BOTTON ON THE GATE.

I HAVE HAD MY TERRAIN FOR A LITTLE OVER TWO YEARS NOW IT ONLY HAS 71,000 MILES BEING A 2015 AND IT HAS STARTED TO STALL OUT ON ME. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I JUST GOT GAS AND THOUGHT MAYBE I DIDNT HAVE MY CAR IN PARK. NOT EVEN TWO WEEKS LATER IT HAPPENED AS I WAS PARKED AT THE GROCERY STORE AND WENT TO TAKE OFF, IT JUST STALLED ON ME! IT'S HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY AND EVEN JUST TURNED OFF ON ME AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON, WE HAVE EVEN PLACED LUCAS IN IT TO SEE IF THAT WOULD WORK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 GMC TERRAIN. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS CHECKING THE VEHICLE'S OIL LEVEL IN HIS DRIVEWAY, THE OIL PRESSURE SHOT UP FROM THE ENGINE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LYNCH GM SUPERSTORE (2300 BROWNS LAKE DR, BURLINGTON, WI 53105, (262) 763-7500) IN MAY OF 2019 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE WAS CURRENTLY RECURRING. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 109,008.
BOTH BREAKLIGHTS NO LONGER WORK DUE TO FAULTY ELECTRICAL PANEL.
I WAS DRIVING IN A RAINSTORM WITH MY FAMILY ON A COUNTY ROAD AND OUR WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING AND FROZE. WITH THE DOWNPOUR, THERE WAS NO VISIBILITY TO CONTINUE DRIVING. I MANAGED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, ALTHOUGH IT WAS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THE ROAD. ONCOMING TRAFFIC MADE THE EXPERIENCE VERY STRESSFUL AND AN ACCIDENT COULD HAVE EASILY OCCURRED. WE WAITED UNTIL THE RAIN SUBSIDED AND MADE IT TO A CAR REPAIR PLACE. THEY SAID IT WAS MORE THAN LIKELY THE FAULTY WINDSHIELD WIPER LINKAGE THAT CAUSED IT TO MALFUNCTION. OUR CAR ENGINE WAS RUNNING FINE, BUT ONLY THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE NOT WORKING. THIS INCIDENT AND THE POTENTIAL DANGER IT PLACED US WAS AS STRESSFUL AND CAUSED AS MUCH ANXIETY AS ACTUALLY HAVING AN ACCIDENT. HAD THE RAIN NOT STOPPED, WE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO EVEN DRIVE BACK HOME.
TURNED ON WIPERS AND STOPPED IN AN UPWARD POSITION.
BURNING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL.
DRIVING HOME AND WIPERS COMPLETELEY WENT OUT IN THE RAIN AND PULLED OVER TO AVOID ACCIDENT UNTIL IT STOPPED RAINING, WAS TERRIFIED THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN. THEY NEVER FIXED THIS PROBLEM IN EARLIER YEARS AND RECALLED THE TERRAIN IN CANADA BUT NOT USA.
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN NOV. 2018. TWO MONTHS LATER I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE STABILI TRAK. I HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP AT THE GMC DEALER TWICE. ALL CODES PASSED BECAUSE THE STABILI TRAK LIGHT TURNS OFF. BOTH RPM AND SPEEDOMETER NEEDLES GO UP AND DOWN REAL FAST. SOMETIMES THEY STAY AT 0 AND I START LOOSING POWER. IF I'M STOPPED, IT TAKES FOREVER FOR IT TO GAIN ANY SPEED. I TURN IT OFF AND RESTART IT ONLY FOR IT TO START ALL OVER AGAIN. I TURNED IT OFF ONCE AND TRIED TO RESET AND COMPLETELY DEAD. THIRD TIME IT STARTED. DASH LIGHTS GO FROM DIM TO BRIGHT AND BACK. THE DEALER SAID THEY CANT FIND THE CODES IF THE STABILI TRACK LIGHT ISN'T ON, YET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. IT IS GETTING WORSE, ALMOST EVERY DAY. BUT THE STABILI TRAK LIGHT DOESN'T STAY ON LONG ENOUGH
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 GMC TERRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIFTGATE LIFTED AND LOWERED ON ITS OWN. THE LIFTGATE STRUCK THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE AND THEN LIFTED AGAIN. THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE HAD TO HOLD THE LIFTGATE BEFORE IT STRUCK THEIR DAUGHTER. THE LIFTGATE EVENTUALLY CLOSED ON ITS OWN. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT MADE AN APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK WITH JOHNSON MOTORS (1891 BLINKER PKWY, DUBOIS, PA 15801, (877) 816-0659) TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000. *DT
WIPER TRANSMISSION BUSHING FAILURE WHILE DRIVING IN RAINSTORM LEAVING ME WITH NO WIPERS. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED IN CANADA ONLY.
THIS MORNING ON MY WAY TO WORK ON 95 NORTH BOUND AND MY WIPER BLADES STOPPED WORKING. I WAS DOING ABOUT 65-70 MPH AND IT WAS POURING RAIN OUT AND I COULD BARELY SEE IN FRONT OF ME. IT WAS DEFINITELY DANGEROUS FOR ME TO KEEP DRIVING BUT I HAD TO GET TO WORK SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE FOR ANOTHER 25 MILES WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY. I HAVE DONE LITTLE RESEARCH SO FAR BUT I DO BELIEVE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE LINKAGE IN THE WIPER BLADE ASSEMBLY. ANYWAYS THIS WAS VERY UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE RECTIFIED AND MADE KNOWN TO OTHER GMC TERRAIN OWNER BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR EVEN KILLED!
THE CAR WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 70MPH ON I-77N IN OHIO DURING HEAVY RAIN. WITHOUT ANY WARNING, THE WIPER BLADES STOPPED WORKING AT ALL AND GOT STUCK IN A HYPER-EXTENDED "UP" POSITION. THIS CAUSED IMMEDIATE "BLINDNESS" TO THE ROAD. FORTUNATELY THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN SLOWLY TO THE SHOULDER, WHERE I GOT OUT AND INSPECTED THE WIPERS. I COULD PUSH THEM MANUALLY, BUT THERE WAS NO MOTORIZED CONTROL WHATSOEVER. UPON GETTING A TOW HOME BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WAY TO SAFELY DRIVE IN THE HEAVY RAIN WITH NO WIPERS (AN ORDEAL THAT TOOK UPWARDS OF FOUR HOURS), I FOUND THAT THE CHINTZY PLASTIC WIPER ARM LINKAGE BUSHINGS HAD WORN OUT AND COME OFF OF THE BEARING. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE AND HAS BEEN REPORTED BEFORE. THE BUSHING THAT LITERALLY DICTATES WHETHER YOU WILL SEE OR NOT WHILE DRIVING IN RAIN IS MADE OF A CHEAP PLASTIC THAT BROKE AFTER FOUR YEARS OF USE. FOUR YEARS. WE WERE TRAVELING AT 70MPH IN POURING RAIN ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. WE LOST ALL VISIBILITY IN AN INSTANT. WE COULD HAVE DIED. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE IN FLORDIA ON VACATION, IN A RAIN STORM OUR WIPERS QUIT WORKING... MY KIDS AND FAMILY WERE IN THE CAR. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND I HAD TO HANG OUT THE WINDOW TO STOP TRAFFIC FROM PASSING US SO WE COULD GET TO THE SHOULDER. WE THEN HAD TO WAIT FOR THE RAIN TO STOP SO WE COULD MAKE OUR WAY TO THE NEXT EXIT. WE GOT OFF THE EXIT AND MADE IT TO A GAS STATION AND A MECHANIC HAPPENED TO BE THERE AND HELPED US FIGURE IT OUT. WE THAN HAD TO DRIVE TO THE NEXT EXIT TO THE PARTS STORE TO GET THE PART AND FIX IT. THE BALL JOINT NO LONGER STAYS IN THE BUSHING ON THE ARM. TWO WEEKS LATER THE OTHER BUSHING DID THE SAME THING AND THEY STOPPED WORKING AGAIN.. CANADA HAS ISSUED A RECALL ALREADY ON THIS PART BACK IN 2016 & 2018... RECALL NUMBER 2016318 AND 2018137.. WHY WOULD CANADA ISSUE A RECALL BUT NOT THE UNITED STATES!!!! ABSURD!!!
THE PLASTIC BUSHINGS USED IN THE WIPER LINKAGE ASSEMBLY ARE POOR QUALITY AND REGULAR USE WEAKENS THEM OR THEY BECOME CORRODED. THE BUSHING CONNECTING THE WIPER TRANSMISSION TO THE REST OF LINKAGE ASSEMBLY DETACHED FROM ITSELF WHILE I WAS DRIVING DURING A SNOW STORM CAUSING MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TO STOP WORKING COMPLETELY, LEAVING ME WITH NO VISIBILITY. THE CAR HAD TO STAY PARKED WHERE IT WAS UNTIL THE WEATHER CLEARED.
ON 02/19/19, WHILE TRAVELING ON THE PA TURNPIKE, I TURNED MY WINSHIELD WIPERS ON, ONLY TO HAVE THEM COME UP 3/4 OF THE WAY ON MY WINDHIELD AND STOP. SUBSEQUENTLY, MY WIPERS BECAME INOPERABLE. THANKFULLY, THERE WAS ONLY A SLIGHT RAIN, AND NOT CONTINUOUS RAIN OR SNOW FALLING AT THE TIME, OR THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SERIOUS CRASH. I HAD THE WIPER ASSEMBLY REPLACED SAME DATE, $259.678, FOR LABOR AND PARTS AT A GM DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS NOT A RECALL AT THIS TIME AND WAS NOT COVERED. MY 2015 GMC TERRAIN HAD APPROX. 75,000 MILES ON AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT. THIS INCIDENT RESULTED FROM CORROSION TO THE WIPER ASSEMBLY, INVOLVING CORROSION TO A TRANSMISSION BALL JOINT, WHICH IS GM RECALL ON PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS, AND IS ALSO A CURRENT GM RECALL IN CANADA ONLY FOR THIS YEAR, HOWEVER, US MODELS ARE NOT. THE BALL JOINT SEPARATED DUE TO CORROSION AND CAUSES COMPLETE FAILURE TO THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM. GM IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET ON MAKING THIS A US SAFETY RECALL AS CANADA HAS IT FOR THE 2010-2017 YEARS.
THE VEHICLE WILL OFTEN SHIFT UNPREDICTABLY. MOVING FROM A DEAD-STOP, THE VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES DEMONSTRATE SIGNIFICANT HESITATION (TO SHIFT) FOLLOWED BY A LOUD AND VIOLENT ENGAGEMENT. IN SOME INSTANCES THE VEHICLE FEELS LIKE IT HAS BEEN HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AUTOMOBILE WILL SHUDDER AND SLIP AND JERK WHEN IT SHIFTS BETWEEN GEARS. THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE. THE DEALER CAN NOT FIX THE ISSUE, BUT UNDERSTANDS THE VEHICLE PROBLEMS.
FOR THE FOURTH TIME MY WIPERS HAVE STOPPED WORKING. I HAVE HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE HIGHWAY IN A RAINSTORM. THE ARM BAR HAS POPPED OFF MULTIPLE TIMES. THE JOINTS THAT CLIP INTO THE WIPERS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE EVERY 3 MONTHS FOR THE PAST YEAR. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
SMELT SOMETHING BURNING WHILE DRIVING. CAR STARTED BUCKING AND JERKING. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND NOTICED A PUDDLE OF OIL LEAKING OUT UNDERNEATH MY CAR. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY NOTIFICATION THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME PVC FROZE UP AND BLEW OUT REAR MAIN SEAL. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US THIS YEAR. WE OWN ANOTHER GMC (2013 EQUINOX) AND THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED 2 WEEKS EARLIER WITH IT. FRUSTRATING THAT GMC IS AWARE OF THIS DEFECT WITH THEIR ENGINES AND NOT WILLING TO ISSUE A RECALL TO CORRECT IT. WE HAD TO PAY $2500 TO FIX THE EQUINOX. LUCKILY THE TERRAIN IS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY BUT WITH BOTH CARS WE WERE OUT OF A VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL DAYS. WILL IT HAPPEN AGAIN???

NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I HAVE A 2015 TERRIAN SLE. AROUND 57,000 MILES MY TERRIAN STARTED BURNING 2+ 2+QUARTS OF OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES WITH NO APPARENT REASON, I HAVE ALWAYS KEPT THE OIL CHANGED BEFORE IT GOT BELOW 7%, AFTER NOTICING THE OIL LEVELS DROPPING FAST I CHECKED IT EVERYDAY. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH MY LAST OIL CHANGE, 2 WEEKS AGO, SHOWING 2 BAD CAM SENSORS P0010 AND P0011. I WENT TO MY MECHANIC ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE 2.4 MOTORS HAVE BEEN LITTERED WITH OIL LEAKS, TIMING CHAIN PROBLEMS, CAM SENSOR ISSUE AND STALLING. I PAID GOOD MONEY FOR THIS CAR AND I AM NOT PLEASED WITH THE CONTINUING MOTOR PROBLEMS FROM GMC. IF THE SAME PROBLEM THAT OCCURRED ON EARLY MODELS IS STILL HAPPENING, WHY IS THERE NOT RECALL? I AM FRUSTRATED AS I HAVE ONLY ONE VEHICLE AND THE OUT OF POCKET COST IS RIDICULOUS, ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M BEING TOLD IT'S CHEAPER TO BUY A NEW CRATE MOTOR THAN FIX WHAT IS WRONG. The contact owns a 2015 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that her vehicle was consuming oil excessively which led to three separate engine failures. The contact also stated that the check oil light would illuminate on the instrument panel prior to the failure. An independent mechanic had replaced the engine all three times due to the oil consumption. Prior to the latest failure, the contact mentioned that while driving at various speeds, the power steering assists failed as the power steering failure warning message was displayed on the instrument panel. The independent mechanic informed her that the power steering had received too much electricity which would cause both the power steering and the wheels to lock up. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
WE BOUGHT OUR 2015 DENALI 1 YEAR AGO AND HAVE APPROX 50,000 MILES AND THE PASSENGERS SIDE TAIL LIGHT IS OUT. AFTER RESEARCHING TAILLIGHT PROBLEMS FOR MY MAKE AND MODEL THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS A RECALL BUT WHEN LOOKED INTO, I SEE IT IS NOT. ITS A SHAME TO SPEND SO MUCH MONEY ON A VEHICLE TO HAVE THE TAIL LIGHT OUT AT 3 YEARS (AFTER FACTORY WARRANTY IS ALREADY OUT) AND YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE TAIL LIGHT INSTEAD OF ONE PIECE.

ON FRIDAY JANUARY 4TH MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR TERRAIN ON INTERSTATE 485 IN CHARLOTTE AT MORNING RUSH HOUR HEADED TO WORK. SHE WAS IN THE LEFT LANE ON THE HIGH TRAVELING ABOUT 65 MPH IN A STEADY DOWNPOUR WITH VEHICLES BESIDE HER. AT THAT TIME SHE HAD THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS GOING WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN WITH OUT WARNING THEY FROZE IN POSITION AND STOPPED WORKING. SHE WAS UNABLE TO WIPE THE WINDSHIELD MAKING IT ALMOST POSSIBLE TO SEE. LUCKILY SHE DID NOT HAVE ANY CARS BEHIND HER AND SHE WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH AND TURN ON THE 4 WAYS AND RIDE THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY TO COME TO A STOP. SHE THEN CALLED ME AND TOLD ME WHAT HAPPENED WHILE TALKING TO ME THE RAIN SUBSIDED ENOUGH THAT SHE WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE RIGHT LANE AND OFF TO THE EXIT ABOUT 2 MILES UP. SHE GOT OFF THERE AND WAS ABLE TO GET TO WORK. IT STOPPED RAINING THAT DAY AND WAS CLEAR AND I RESEARCHED ON WHT MAY HAVE HAPPENED OR ANY RECALLS. I CAME ACROSS STORIES OF THE WIPER BLADE FAILURE IN THE 2013 GMC TERRAIN 2014 AND 2015 ALL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. GMC HAS RECALLED THE ISSUE ON THE 2013 IN THE UNITED STATES AND THE 2015 MODEL IN CANADA BUT NOT THE USA. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH OUR GMC DEALERSHIP THAT MONDAY AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT ON THAT TUESDAY MORNING. WE DROPPED IT OFF AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO RUN A PROGNOSTIC TEST EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM WHAT WAS WRONG AND WHAT I WAS ALMOST POSITIVE WAS WRONG. LATER THAT DAY THE TECHNICIAN CALLED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE WIPER TRANSMISSION BROKE AT THE END OF THE SHAFT AND THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE WIPER TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY. FROM READING ABOUT THE RECALL AND THE SAME COMPLAINTS WITH THE 2015 TERRAIN I BELIEVED THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED TO THE 2015 VEHICLES AS WELL.

THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER AN 3 DAYS AFTER OIL CHANGE AND BEGIN TO CUT OFF WHEN I WOULD ACCELERATE. I TOOK IT TO CARMAX AND THEY SAID IT WAS A FAULTY SENSOR WHICH WAS COVERED BY THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. CARMAX SUGGESTED I TAKE THE CAR TO A GMC DEALER FOR REPAIR. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE GMC DEALER, THEY REPAIRED IT AND 1 1/2 WEEKS LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WAS CUTTING OFF AGAIN. I WENT TO THE GMC DEALER A SECOND TIME AND THEY SAID, "THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE MY CONCERNS, THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE CAR, THE ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON AND THE CAR WAS DRIVEN FOR 10 MINUTES WITHOUT ANY ISSUES". AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR 5 DAYS, THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN AND THE CAR IS STALLING. I HAVE TO ACCELERATE OVER 10 - 20 MILES FOR THE CAR TO STAY ON. I KNOW THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG, I HAVE BEEN AFRAID TO DRIVE BECAUSE WITH THE CAR CUTS OFF ON ME AND NO ONE HAS GIVEN A REASON AS TO WHY. I DO NOT WANT TO GET HIT FROM BEHIND.
