DRIVER'S SEATBACK MOVES UNEXPECTEDLY, WHICH MAY CAUSE A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK *ML
THIS WAS A REAR-END COLLISION. WE WERE STANDING STILL WHEN HIT. DRIVER'S SEAT COLLAPSED UPON IMPACT. *AK
CONSUMER HAS 2000, GMC YUKON WITH ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, WILDERNESS LE TIRES WITH APPROXIMATE MILEAGE 300. TRAVELING AT 65MPH IN COLD CONDITIONS PASSENGER'S REAR TIRE BLEWOUT. NO DAMAGES OR INJURIES. TIRE SIZE P265/R1670 AND DOT# UNKNOWN. TIRE WAS REPLACED AT DEALER WITH NO PROBLEM.*AK
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
MY NEW GMC WAS SHIPPED WITHOUT A DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG. WE HAD AN INTERMITTANT INDICATION (WARNINING LIGHT) ABOUT 4 WEEKS AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VECHICLE. I BELIEVE THE AIR BAG WAS TAKEN/NOT INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY AND THAT THE WIRING WAS RIGGED TO SHOW AN AIRBAG WAS INSTALLED. I CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE, WITH NO RESPONSE OTHER THEN THEY CREATED A FILE. BOTTOMLINE...IF AN AIRBAG IS NOT INSTALLED THE SYSTEM SHOULD INDICATE A FAULT. IF MY AIRBAG WAS TAKEN THERE MAY BE OTHER FAMLIES DRIVING AROUND WITHOUT AN AIRBAG. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF AN AIRBAG IS NOT INSTALLED HOW IT COULD PASS A SYSTEMS SENSOR CHECK. THE LOCAL GM DEALER HAS ORDERED A NEW AIRBAG.*AK
WHEN APPLYING BRAKES REAR BRAKE WILL LOCK UP BEFORE THE FRONT BRAKE, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. *AK LOCK UP OF REAR BRAKE COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL ON WET OR ICY PAVEMENT. TIRES LEAVE BLACK MARKS ON PAVEMENT. BRAKE PROPORTIONING SYSTEM NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. *YH
MY 2000 GMC HAS HAD A STALLING ISSUE FROM THE DAY IT WAS DELIVERED. IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES AND THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO GET IT FIXED. THE DEALER HAS TOLD ME THEY WILL REPLACE A COMPUTER CHIP BY SEPT. 30, AND HOPEFULLY IT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM.. I WILL FILE A LEMON LAW COMPLAINT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPURCHASED IF IT IS NOT FIXED BY SEPT. 30TH. THE DEALER ADMITS THAT THERE ARE "SEVERAL" OF THESE YUKONS AND PICKUPS" THAT HAVE THIS STALLING PROBLEM, HOWEVER, IF THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, THEY ARE NOT MAKING POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, PERHAPS THAT WOULD HURT "THEIR BOTTOM LINE"!! ALSO, THESE YUKONS ARE SOLD WITH FIRESTONE LE TIRES, BY REVIEWING THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND SOME OF THE OTHER CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS, I SEE THERE ARE SEVERAL THAT HAD THE TIRES BLOW, MAYBE THERE NEEDS TO BE A CHECK ON THESE TIRES AS WELL AS THE ONES ALREADY RECALLED . *AK( DOT NUMBER: )
AIRBAG LIGHT STAYED ILLUMINATED , INDICTATING A DEFECT AND EITHER INOPERATIVE OR SUDDEN DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS. CAUSE IS UNKNOWN.PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILUMINATES, INDICATING A MALFUNCTION WITHIN SYSTEM . ALSO, WHEN VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN IT LOSES POWER AND STALLS, CAUSE UNKNOWN/ PASSENGER'S ARM REST FELL OFF. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
BOTH REAR POWER WINDOWS INOPERATIVE. *AK
MY WIFES VEHICLE LEFT THE ROAD WHERE SHE TRIED TO CORRECT AND VEHICLE ROLLED OVER,KILLING HER AS SHE WAS BY HERSELF. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, AND THE VEHICLE WAS A COMPLETE DISASTER. *AK
THE PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM IS NOT DESIGNED TO HOLD MORE THAN THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE ON MORE THAN AN ELEVEN PERCENT GRADE. THE YUKON XL IS ADVERTISED BY GMC TO BE A VEHICLE CAPBABLE OF TOWING A 7800 LB TRAILER. WITH A BOAT TRAILER OR HORSE TRAILER YOU CAN NOT SAFELY PARK ON ANYTHING BUT LEVEL GROUND WITHOUT THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE AND TRAILER BEING HELD BY THE TRANMISSION PARK. THIS NOT A SAFELY DESIGNED SYSTEM.*AK
PURCHASED VEHICLE USED FROM MEI AUTO BROKERS 407 834 6244 ON 11/06/01 TOOK VEHICLE TO COURTESY GMC 407 767 2070 ON 11/08/01 SPOKE WITH DAVE JUNKINS EXT 1236 . DAVE TOLD ME THAT THE DRIVESHAFT WAS UNBALANCED AND THAT CAUSED THE SHAKING AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 45 MPH. HE ALSO STATED THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURING ERROR AND THAT IT WAS LIKE THAT(UNBALANCED W/ SHAKING ) SINCE MANUFACTURED I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED THAT THIS DRIVESHAFT SHAKING AND VIBRATING SINCE NEW HAS CAUSED DAMAGE TO EITHER THE TRANSMISSION OR DIFFERENTIAL AND SUBSEQUENT FAILURE IS IMMINENT. TO THIS DATE 11/20/01 I AM STILL AWAITING WORD FROM DAVE AT COURTESY ON WHEN A NEW PART WILL ARRIVE AND REPAIRS WILL BE PREFORMED.
EMERGENCY PARK BRAKE FAILURE. *AK
CONSUMER APPLIED EMERGENCY BRAKE AND PEDAL WENT TO THE GROUND, RESULTING IN EMERGENCY BRAKE MALFUNCTIONING. *AK
MY PARKING/EMERGENCY BRAKE GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND DOES NOT HOLD MY VEHICLE ON EVEN THE SLIGHTEST GRADE. THE DEALER STATES THAT THIS IS NORMAL PER GMC EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE HAD NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS. MY ENGINE HAS A KNOCKING NOISE WHEN I START IT UP IN THE MORNING. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THIS IS NORMAL PER GMC. MY FRONT PASSENGER BUCKET SEAT BACK MOVES FORWARD AND BACK (WOBBLES). MY REAR END WHEEL BEARING WERE REPLACED BECAUSE OF A LOUD HUM. THAT WAS MISDIAGNOSED TWICE BY ALFRED MATHEWS. MY FRONT END FEELS LOOSE AND SQUEAKS WHEN ACCELERATING OR BRAKING. REAR LEATHER BUCKET SEATS RATTLE ALL THE TIME WHEN DRIVING AND THE LEATHER HAS RIPPED @ SEAMS TWICE. ALFRED MATHEWS REPLACED ONCE AND TRIED UNSUCCESSFULLY TO FIX SEAT RATTLE. AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATES ON DASHBOARD, HAS OCCURRED FOUR OTHER TIMES. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT PROBLEM; HOWEVER, HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO SERVICE MALFUNCTION. *AK
LEFT REAR TIRE ON MY 2000 YUKONXL SEPARATED ,CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. ALL DAMAGE CAME FROM SEPARATED TIRE. I HAVE FIRESTONE WILDERNESS LE TIRES WITH APPROX 45000 MILES ON THEM.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS VEHICLE LOST POWER DUE TO A FAULTY FUEL PUMP. THIS WAS THE THIRD OCCURRENCE, WHICH COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY CAUSED A COLLISION. *AK
PROBLEMS WITH AIR BAG LIGHT COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY. *MR CODES WERE FOUND FOR THE LEFT FRONT SIDE AIR BAG AND A RECALL WAS FOUND REGARDING THIS ISSUE BUT THE VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED. *SCC *JB
BRAKE PEDAL GETS VERY HARD. CONSUMER IS UNABLE TO STOP VEHICLE AT TIMES. *AK
