I HAVE A 2003 YUKON DENALI I PURCHASED AND IT HAS GIVEN ME THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT AND ALMOST HAD A FEW ACCIDENTS ON THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE IT DROPS THE SPEED TO 20 MPH ALSO IT HAS THE CHECK ENGINE CODES AS P0120 AND P2135 I HAVE BEEN AWARE THAT GM HAS NOT FOUND A SOLUTION TO THIS AND WANTED TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY RECALLS AS I AM VERY AFRAID OF BEING IN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND REQUESTED WITHDRAW THE COMPLAINT. *JS
I KEEP HAVING THE DISPLAY SAY "REDUCED ENGINE POWER". I'LL BE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, DOING 65 IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE ACCELERATOR NO LONGER ACCELERATES AND IT DISPLAYS "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" ON THE GAUGE CLUSTER DISPLAY. FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN ONLINE IT APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR ON THOUSANDS OF OTHER SIMILAR VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ENGINE, CHEVY SUBURBAN'S, SILVERADO'S, TAHOE'S, ETC. I REPLACED THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND THE HARNESS (BECAUSE I HEARD THE HARNESS MIGHT ALSO BE AN ISSUE) AND I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY TRUCK. IT HAS DONE IT OVER A DOZEN TIMES ON ONE TRIP BACK FROM WORK (80 MILES FOR ME). I HAVE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD (IF POSSIBLE) AND TURN OFF THE TRUCK, THEN WAIT A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, THEN TURN THE TRUCK BACK ON. THIS USUALLY FIXES THE ISSUE, BUT IT DID NOT HELP ME WHEN IT HAPPENED TO ME IN THE TUNNEL AND I WAS GOING 5 MPH (TOP SPEED DURING THE "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" MODE, ONCE YOUR DRIFTING STOPS (BECAUSE YOU DRIFT, IT DOESN'T ENGAGE THE BRAKES). I WAS EXTREMELY WORRIED THAT I WOULDN'T MAKE IT OUT OF THE TUNNEL WITHOUT GET REAR ENDED, AND ONCE I MADE IT OUT, I WAS JUST OUTSIDE OF THE TUNNEL AWAITING ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING, WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR.
MY BRAKES WOULD ENGAGE BUT THEY WILL NOT DISENGAGED AND MY BRAKES ARE BURINGING AND SMELLING LIKE BURNT RUBBER. BRAKES ARE ALSO STICKING. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM KEEPS BLINKING ON AND OFF. REPLACE FUSE BUT STILL NOT WORKING. NOT DISPLAYING THE CORRECT SPEED ON DASH BOARD I'M GOING SLOWER THAN THE SPEED SAY. *TR
WIFE DRIVING TRUCK TO WORK " REDUCED ENGINE POWER", MESSAGE CAME ON THE DASH, AND ALSO SAID TRACTION CONTROL WAS DISABLED. POWER WAS REDUCED GRADUALLY TO TEN MILES PER HOUR. SHE FLOORED THE GAS, NOTHING. TURNED IT OFF, RESTARTED IT, NOTHING. ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION DISABLED LIGHTED WERE ILLUMINATED. ALSO THE REAR MIRROR TEMPERATURE DISPLAY FLICKERS ALL THE TIME. DRL BURN OUT ALMOST DAILY. GMCS HAVE MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES BEFORE PEOPLE START DYING. IMAGINE A CAR SHUTTING DOWN ON YOU WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. THAT AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. THE REAR WIPER WORKS WHEN IT FEELS LIKE WORKING, THERE IS ALSO A MESSAGE ABOUT FIXING THE RIDE CONTROL. FOR ALL THE BAIL MONEY GMC GOT, THEY SHOULD RECALL THESE MISTAKES THEY MADE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH UPHILL WHEN MY ENGINE AND TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON. MY SPEED WAS IMMEDIATELY REDUCED TO ABOUT 35 MPH EVEN THOUGH I TRIED TO ACCELERATE. I DROVE HOME ABOUT 8 MILES AT A REDUCED SPEED BECAUSE I HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE TRUCK AND IT WAS RAINING. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A MECHANIC THE NEXT DAY AND HE REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. I PICKED UP THE TRUCK THAT EVENING AND AS I WAS DRIVING HOME THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE MECHANIC, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TC LIGHT WAS ON AGAIN HOWEVER HE SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. HIS THOUGHT WAS TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY AGAIN. TWO REPLACEMENTS LATER, THE PROBLEM REMAINS. *TR
DRIVING 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR LOSES POWER. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS! THE DASH SAYS REDUCED ENGINE POWER. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. CODES FOR THE PROBLEM P0120, P0171, P0174, P0300, P2135. I GOT EVERYTHING DONE THAT WAS SUGGESTED THE CODES ARE GONE AND IT'S STILL HAPPENING!! NOT SURE WHAT THE GMC DEALERSHIP IS UP TO BUT THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE TO WHAT'S CAUSING IT OR HOW TO FIX IT! *TR
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT DRIVES FINE BUT WHEN IT GETS TO SPEEDS AROUND 50-60 IT WILL COMPLETELY SHUT OFF I HAVE TO PUT IT ON N AND TURN THE KEY ALL THE WAY BACK AND THEN TRY STARTING IT AGAIN. AFTER IT TURNS OFF THE FIRST TIME THEN IT WILL START TURNING OFF MORE RANDOMLY. I HAVE BEEN READING ONLINE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS AROUND THE SAME YEAR. *TR
THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL TURN ON AND THE INFORMATION CENTER ON MY CLUSTER READS "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" AND "STABILITY SYSTEM DISABLE", THEN MY SPEED IS REDUCED AND ONLY RUNS BETWEEN TEN AND TWENTY MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE TO TURN OFF MY TRUCK AND TURN IT BACK ON AFTER A FEW MINUTES TO CONTINUE, BUT THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED ON A DAILY BASIS. I THINK GMC IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AND MORE SIMILAR PROBLEMS. *TR
WHEN STARTING MY 2003 GMC YUKON THE DASH SAYS REDUCED ENGINE POWER..IT WON'T GO OVER 15 MPH....IT HAPPENS EVERYDAY! I HAVE TO KEEP RESTARTING IT AND LET IT GET WARM BEFORE I CAN GO ANYWHERE. MY VEHICLE IS A 2003 GMC YUKON. THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT REGISTERING, AND WHEN (THE GAUGE) IS TRYING TO OPERATE, THE VEHICLE HESITATES WHILE ACCELERATING AND THE GAUGE DOES THE SAME AS WELL AS THE GAS GAUGE. I KNOW ALL MY DASHBOARD GAUGES NEED TO BE CHECKED FOR MALFUNCTION. THIS BEGAN TWO WEEKS AGO, I CALLED DOUG HENRY OF FARMVILLE TO CHECK MY VEHICLE FOR RECALLS, ONLY TO FIND OUT IT IS NOT LISTED. MY HUSBAND HAS A 2003 GMC YUKON XL, HE RECEIVED A LETTER DESCRIBING THIS PROBLEM AND GOT INFORMATION TO GET IT FIXED FREE OF CHARGE. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM AND I BELIEVE THERE ARE OTHER VEHICLES AFFECTED IN THIS PARTICULAR RECALL. *TR

SPEEDOMETER ISN'T REGISTERING CORRECT SPEED WHILE DRIVING. STOPPED AND IT REGISTERED 55 MPH WHILE STANDING STILL. HAS TROUBLE RETURNING TO ZERO. PROBLEM STARTED AT 200 MILES. *AK
2003 YUKON XL SPEEDOMETER STARTING AT 70 MPH STANDING STILL. SAFETY ISSUE, CANNOT DETERMINE HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. *JB
THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2003 YUKON XL DISPLAYS TOTALLY ERRONEOUS READINGS. JUDGING FROM ONLY THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS CONDITION ON SEVERAL MAKES OF GM VEHICLES THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE ADDRESSED WITH A RECALL.*AK

WHILE DRIVING OR IDLING, THE "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" IS DISPLAYED. ENGINE GOES INTO "REDUCED POWER MODE". DEALER REPLACED ACCELERATOR CONTROL MODULE. THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THEY NOW THINK IT IS THE THROTTLE BODY. TIME WILL TELL, MEAN WHILE I AM WITHOUT MY $45,000.00 TRUCK. *JB
