The contact then stated that an independent mechanic had previously replaced the brake sensor, fuses, solenoids, and several other unknown parts; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.
BRAKE LINE RUSTED, CAUSED TRAFFIC ACCIDENT AT 30 MPH. BREAKS WERE SERVICED LAST YEAR.
DRIVER SIDE FRONT ROTOR OUTER SURFACE HAS FULL METAL TO METAL CONTACT WITH ZERO BRAKE PAD MATERIAL AND HAD TO BE PRIED OUT. DRIVER SIDE FRONT ROTOR INNER HAS UNEVEN PARTIAL SURFACE CONTACT WITH ROTOR AND IS JAMMED IN THE CARRIER (UNABLE TO REMOVE BY HAND, HAD TO BE HAMMERED OUT OF THE CARRIER). PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE ROTOR OUTER HAS PERFECT SURFACE BUT BRAKE PAD LOOKED BRAND NEW... NO WEAR ON IT AND IS JAMMED IN THE CARRIER. PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE ROTOR INNER SURFACE HAS PARTIAL CONTACT WITH BRAKE PAD... HEAVY THICK RUSTY RIDGE FORMED AND BRAKE PAD SHOWED RIDGE IMPRESSION ON IT. CUSTOMER SAID THE BRAKE WAS DONE BY DEALER TWO YEARS AGO. THE MAIN CULPRIT IS THE BRAKE PADS ARE JAMMED IN THE CARRIER BECAUSE THE BRAKE PAD BACKING PLATE IS TOO LONG TO INSERT OR TO MOVE FREELY. THERE IS SOME KIND OF DESIGN FLAW/SPECIFICATION PROBLEM. THE DRIVER SIDE REQUIRED MUCH MORE SHORTENING OF THE NEW BRAKE PAD BACKING PLATE THAN THE PASSENGER SIDE. BRAKE PAD TAB WIDTH WAS PERFECT AND MOVES EASILY WITH NO PLAY. IT IS ONLY THE LENGTH OF THE BRAKE PAD TABS ARE THE ISSUES. I AM NOT SURE IF THE BRAKE PAD/CALIPER CARRIER IS AT FAULT... POSSIBILITY OF BENDING OR TWISTING THAT MAY CAUSE THE ISSUE OF BRAKE PAD BEING JAMMED, OR TOO LONG TO INSERT. IT IS SUCH A STRONG METAL THAT THERE IS NO WAY ANY HUMAN CAN PHYSICALLY BEND IT NOR SIMPLY DROPPING IT. IT WOULD TAKE A SEVERE FORCE TO ACTUALLY BEND THE CARRIER SUCH AS THE VEHICLE ITSELF UNDER REPEATED BRAKING. I THINK THIS IS THE MOST PLAUSIBLE REASON FOR THIS SITUATION. NEW BRAKE PADS HAS SAME PROBLEM... THE LENGTH OF THE BACKING PLATE TABS ARE TOO LONG TO INSERT INTO CARRIER ON DRIVER SIDE AND THEY DO FIT TOO TIGHT IN PASSENGER SIDE CARRIER. WE HAD TO SHORTEN THE BRAKE PAD TABS TO ALLOW THE PADS TO MOVE SMOOTHLY IN THE CARRIER.
2007 GMC YUKON DENALI. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE BRAKE SYSTEM AND ENGINE ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO START. HOWEVER THE ENGINE STARTED TO SURGE AND HE WAS UNABLE TO STOP. HE CRASHED INTO THE PROCEEDING VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER SPOKE TO TWO MECHANICS WHO INFORMED HIM, IT WAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND THERE WAS NO REMEDY TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING. THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY THE TRIGGERING OF THE ABS BY DETERIORATION OF THE FRONT WHEEL BEARING. *JB
I WENT TO THE MALL YESTERDAY AND MY CAR STARED SHAKING THE MALL IS 4 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE. I WAS DRIVING THROUGH THIS INTERSECTION ON THE WAY HOME AND I HEARD A HORRIBLE POP AND SAW SOMETHING FLY IN THE AIR AND FALL OFF OF MY CAR. IT WAS THE DRIVER SHAFT AND THAT PART WAS LAYING IN THE ROAD ABOUT 4 FEET LONG AND IF SOMEONE WOULD HAVE RAN OVER IT I BELIEVE IT COULD HAVE CAUSED INJURY TO SOMEONE. THIS CAR HAS HAD SO MANY ISSUES. FROM TAIL LIGHTS GOING OUT AT ONE TIME, THE DOOR KNOB FALLING OFF, THE ARM OF THE SEAT BROKE AND NOW THE HEAD LIGHT JUST WENT OUT. BRAKE ISSUES AND I CALLED GMC TO TELL THEM THAT THIS PART FELL OFF AND THEY WERE NOT SURE IF IT IS UNDER WARRANTY. NOTHING EVER IS BUT IT IS SAD TO SPEND THIS KIND OF MONEY ON A VEHICLE AND HAVE SO MANY ISSUES WITH IT. WE BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. I WAS SHAKING FROM THIS INCIDENT AND HAD THE CAR TOWED AWAY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AFTER THE BRAKES SEIZED INDEPENDENTLY. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED A NEW ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
WE GOT OUR BRAKES FIXED AT THE DEALER ABOUT SIX MONTHS AGO AND WE CONTINUED TO COMPLAIN OF NOISES AND SQUEAKING, BUT THE DEALER SAID IT WAS JUST DUST BECAUSE THEY WERE NEW. AFTER MONTHS OF COMPLAINING, WE BEGIN TO RECEIVE OIL CHANGES FREE OF CHARGE WITH NO EXPLANATIONS. JANUARY 6, 2011 I WENT IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE BRAKE CALIBER WAS BROKEN AND LEAKING BRAKE FLUID;SHE ALSO SAID I NEED NEW FRONT BRAKE PADS; BOTH OF THE ROTORS ARE BROKEN AND NEED TO BE REPLACED AND I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE BRAKES FOR ALMOST 4-6 MONTHS. ALSO THE DIFFERENTIAL IS MAKING A LOUD NOISE AS WELL. ESTIMATION OF; THE BRAKE CALIBER AND PADS IS $550; BOTH ROTOR $1000 AND DIFFERENTIAL PROBLEM $1000 WHICH I WILL HAVE TO PAY. I BELIEVE THESE PROBLEMS ARE MANUFACTURER RELATED AND SHOULD DEALT WITH IMMEDIATELY. THE DEALER KEPT MY CAR AND STATED IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I WAS NOT OFFERED A LOANER AFTER EXPLAINING THAT I ONLY HAVE ONE VEHICLE AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. I WAS NOT GIVEN AND ESTIMATED TIME OF WHEN THE CAR WOULD BE COMPLETED FOR REPAIRS. IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS CLAIM IS WARRANTED BEFORE I SPEND ANY OUT OF POCKET MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM OR AN ERROR BY ONE OF THE MECHANICS SOONER BEFORE THE PROBLEM ESCALATED INTO FURTHER DAMAGES. *TR

WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE BRAKES JERK OR A SLIPPING MOTION AFTER YOU ARE AT COMPLETE STOP. WE HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES AND THE HAVE JUST LUBED THE PROBLEM, ACCORDING THEIR MEMO THAT IS THE PROCEDURE, INSTEAD OF FIXING THE PROBLEM. SAME EXACT ISSUE AS OTHER PEOPLE HAVE DESCRIBED OCCURS WITH MY 2007 GMC YUKON SLT. RPMS INCREASE AND VEHICLE LUNGES AS I AM PULLING INTO THE GARAGE AND ALSO SLOWING DOWN AT STOP SIGNS GOING NO MORE THAN A FEW MPHS TO TRY TO COME TO A STOP. I NEED TO QUICKLY APPLY THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP/SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION WAS LEAKING AND RECALLED AND THAT WAS FIXED BY GM. THE BRAKE LIGHTS SOMETIMES OVER HEAT AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE SADDLES ON THEM. I DO NOT EVEN KNOW THEY GO OUT BUT I HAVE PEOPLE HONKING AT ME THAT I HAVE NO LIGHTS IN THE REAR. NOW WITH MY WARRANTY OUT AND HAVE 86.000 MILES ON IT THE FUEL PUMP IS OUT ON THE VEHICLE AT A 700 DOLLAR COST. THE DOOR KNOB FELL OFF, I HAVE OIL PRESSURE ISSUES ALL OF THE TIME. LAST NOVEMBER THE DRIVE SHAFT FELL OFF AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HAD TO PICK IT UP OFF OF THE INTERSTATE WHICH SOMEONE COULD HAVE GOTTEN HURT. BRAKE ISSUES. WHEN YOU SPEND 48,000 DOLLARS ON A VEHICLE IT MAKES YOU SAD THAT GM DOES NOTHING TO HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS. MAYBE THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT HELP THEM ANYMORE. TODAY THEY WANTED ME TO TAKE IT TO GM AND PAY 200 DOLLARS FOR A DIAGNOSIS. JUST MORE MONEY IN THEIR POCKET. I WANT TO ANOTHER SHOP FOR ADVISE. THIS CAR IS DEFINITELY A DISAPPOINTMENT ND LEMON. *TR
FIRE. WHILE PARKED IN GARAGE 30 MINUTES AFTER PARKED. INSURANCE INVESTIGATOR (ALLSTATE) DID NOT FIND A SOURCE OF THE FIRE. ENTIRE HOUR AND VEHICLE LOST. *TR
THE BRAKES MAKE VERY LOUD NOISE. THERE IS UNEVEN PAD WEAR AND BRAKE SCORING. THE VEHICLE HAS 3500 MILES AND IS BRAND NEW CONDITION. THE DEALER SAID SUCH NOISE, PAD WEAR AND SCORING IS NORMAL.*JB
