The contact stated that a year after the repair, a vertical crack began to form over the passenger’s side air bag where the recall repair was performed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the repair would be an out-of-pocket expense. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 113,600.
MY DASH IS CRACKED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE CLOSING THE BACK-HATCH DOOR IT CLOSED ON HER DAUGHTER'S HAND. THERE WAS NO MANUAL WAY TO REOPEN THE HATCH DOOR. THE DOOR OPERATES ELECTRONICALLY. IT TOOK 15 SECONDS FOR THE DOOR TO REOPEN. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS CURRENTLY JUST A YEAR OLD AND THE TOP LAYER OF THE SKIN WAS TORN OFF THE INFANT DAUGHTER'S KNUCKLES. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT IMMEDIATELY REQUIRED BUT THE CONTACT WILL MONITOR THE SITUATION AND TAKE THE DAUGHTER IN IF NECESSARY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,000.

TAKATA RECALL THE BACK HATCH DOOR WITH NOT GO UP AUTOMATICALLY IT SEEMS TO HAVE THE SHOCK THE AUTOMATICALLY OPENS THE DOOR SOMTHING SEEMS TO HAVE FOLLEN OFF OR BROKE ONLY WORKS MANUALLY
INTERIOR DASHBOARD. CRACKED IN TWO PLACES 1.) TOP LEFT CORNER OF PASSENGER AIRBAG PANEL 2.) CENTER OF GAUGE DOME STARTING FORM VENT VANES CRACKED UP TO NEARLY TOP OF THE GAUGE DOME. THIS CONDITION STARTED 2018 AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY WORSENED IN LENGTH. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT ITS ENTIRE OWNERSHIP. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS ARE E EXPERIENCING THIS SAME CRACKING ISSUES IN THE SAME LOCATION.

THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IN 2 PLACES, 1 IN FRONT OF THE DRIVERS SEAT, AND THE OTHER IN FRONT OF THE PASSENGER SEAT BY THE AIRBAG. IT WAS ALREADY CRACKED BEFORE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED, BUT HAS GOTTEN WORSE LIVING ON A DIRT ROAD.

THE CHROME ON THE DOORS WAS ALSO PEELING, WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO GET CUTS ON THE HANDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE MOUNT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE PEELING CHROME ON THE DOOR HANDLES WAS NEVER REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 230,000.
CRACK IN DASH, DRIVER'S SIDE.
HAVE A YUKON AND THE DASH BOARD IS CRACKED AT BOTH SIDES OF AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE AND ABOVE THE GAUGE CLUSTER.THE PLASTIC IS VERY BRITTLE AND MY CONCERNS IS IF THERE WAS EVER A CAR WRECK AND THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IT WOULD SEND PLASTIC PROJECTILES THROUGHOUT VEHICLE WHICH THE VEHICLE IS USED TO CARRY MY 1 AND 2 YEAR OLD CHILDREN DAILY.I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A DEFECT OR A RECALL CONSIDERING ALMOST ALL THESE VEHICLES ALL CRACK IN THE SAME SPOT I FEEL IT WAS A POOR DESIGN BY GMC AND AT OVER 1000 DOLLARS TO HAVE IT FIXED IS JUST CRAZY . DASH CRACKED BY PASSENGER AIR BAG AND ABOVE DASH BOARD ON DRIVERS SIDE-CONTINUING TO GROW IN SIZE ON DRIVERS SIDE--REPLACE ONE ALREADY IN 2011 UNDER WARRANTY(CAR WAS 5YEARS OLD)- NOW FIVE YEARS LATER SAME CRACKS-- STARTED CLAIM WITH GM ASSISTANCE, WAS TOLD TO GO TO DEALER FOR PICTURES AND TO DETERMINE IF IT WAS A DEFECT OR MY FAULT-- SERVICE MANAGER PROCEEDED TO TELL ME WHEN I WENT IN THAT HE HAD THE SAME 2007 YUKON WITH THE SAME DASH CRACKS-A WEEK LATER I WAS TOLD SORRY YOUR VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY WE CAN DO NOTHING FOR YOU. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT EVEN IF THEY COULD DO SOMETHING THE PART WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE-- I CALLED THE SAME DEALERSHIPS PARTS DEPARTMENT AND GUESS WHAT I COULD GET THE REPLACEMENT THE NEXT DAY!! CALLED THE 800 NUMBER TO LET THEM KNOW--THEY SAID SORRY YOU WHERE TOLD THAT BUT STILL WE CAN NOT DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. I PROCEEDED TO ASK IF THEY THOUGHT A DASH SHOULD ONLY LAST 5 YEARS, TO WHICH SHE SAID NO BUT STILL COULD NOT HELP ME. I HAVE OWN A CHEVY TAHOE, A CHEVY SUBURBAN AND NUMEROUS CHEVY VEHICLES- I THINK WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE LIKE THERES IT IS TIME TO TAKE MY MONEY ELSE WHERE!
CRACKED DASH
A LARGE CRACK APPEARED ON MY DASHBOARD ON SEPTEMBER 3, 2016, RIGHT ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN. I USED SUPER GLUE TO TRY AND KEEP THE CRACK FROM GETTING LARGER. ANOTHER, SMALLER, CRACK OPENED UP ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ON NOVEMBER 7, 2016, RIGHT ABOVE THE AIRBAG.
DASHBOARD CRACKED
2 CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI - BETWEEN THE SPEAKER AND PASSENGER AIRBAG AND ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. IT ALSO MAKES A SQUEAKY RATTLING NOISE WHILE I AM DRIVING AS THE BROKEN PIECES BOUNCE. I DID NOTHING TO BREAK IT, IT CRACKED ON ITS OWN.
DASH BOARD CRACKS. WHILE DRIVING DASH IS SHAKING UP AND DOWN.
CHROME IS COMING OFF THE WHEELS CAUSING TIRES TO LEAK AIR. ALL FOUR OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLES BROKE OFF DUE TO A WEAK PLASTIC DESIGN.
