TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT INTERMITTENTLY FAILED IN THE2007 GMC YUKON WITH 300 FAILURE MILEAGE. THE THIRD ROW REAR PASSENGER SEAT BELT LOCKED PROPERLY, BUT WHEN REMOVING THE CHILD FROM THE SEAT, THE SEAT BELT WOULD RETRACT, WHICH CAUSED BRUISING TO THE ARM AND CHEST OF THE CHILD. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SEAT BELTS WERE WITHIN SAFETY STANDARDS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 500 . *AK
CHROME ON DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE HAS SHARP EDGES AND WILL CUT YOUR HAND. *TR
TL* - THE CONTACT HAS A 2007, YUKON, DENALI WHICH SHE PURCHASED IN OCTOBER 2006. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAS BEEN TO THE DAVID MCDAVID DEALERSHIP IN LOUISIANA 4 TIMES BECAUSE THE CAR REMOTE WILL NOT OPEN OR CLOSE THE DOORS. THE REMOTE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE REPAIRED AS OF DECEMBER 29, 2006. *AK
A SERVICE LIGHT IN THE BRAND NEW 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI XL CAME ON IN THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE SERVICE TEAM EVALUATED THE VEHICLE, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE CONTROL MODULE IN THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER, WE RECEIVED A CALL INFORMING THAT THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION IN THE BRAND NEW VEHICLE NEEDED REPLACEMENT AND THIS CONCERNS US FOR MANY REASONS. THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 4000 MILES AND WE NEED TO HAVE OUR TRANSMISSION REPLACED! WE NOTICED BEFORE THE LIGHT CAME ON IN THE VEHICLE THAT THE TRUCK WOULD SOMETIMES SLIP WHILE DRIVING AND WE THOUGHT THAT IT WAS BREAKING IN, NOW WE REALIZE THAT IT WAS MUCH MORE SERIOUS AND THAT THIS PROBLEM COULD HAVE TURNED INTO SOMETHING MUCH LARGER. OUR TRANSMISSION COULD HAVE LOCKED WHILE WE WERE DRIVING OR WORSE WHILE DRIVING INJURING US OR OTHERS ON THE ROAD. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED, BUT HAS THE SOURCE OF THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM BEEN SOLVED??? *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR HAD A LOT OF VIBRATION. THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED FOAM IN AN ATTEMPT TO REPAIR, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED.
[XXX] GMC 2007..DRIVING AT HWY SPEED TRUCK STALLED /GAS LEAKING ALL OVER UNDERSIDE OF TRUCK.PLASTIC FUEL LINE FELL OFF AT STEEL FUEL LINE ON TOP OF FUEL TANK. CAUSING STALL & MAJOR GAS LEAK. DT*: AT TIME WHEN CRUISE AT CONSTANT SPEEDS, THEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE RIGHT AWAY, IT WOULD TAKE A FEW SECONDS. *NM
2007 GMC DENALI ROLLED BACKWARD AFTER KEY WAS REMOVED AND VEHICLE IN "PARK". CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO STOP VEHICLE AS IT ROLLED ABOUT 100 YARDS IN LENGTH DOWN APPROXIMATELY 20 FEET. CONSUMER COULD HAVE RECEIVED MAJOR INJURIES AS VEHICLE WENT OVER A 4 FOOT WALL DURING INCIDENT AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO GET IN TO ATTEMPT TO STOP, BUT HAD TO HANG ON STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO NOT GET RUN OVER. *JB
THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOWS COME FORWARD SO THAT THERE IS A GAP IN THE BACK OF THE WINDOWS. WHERE ANY SMALL CHILD CAN PUT THEIR FINGERS IN THERE, WHICH IS WHAT HAPPEN TO MY DAUGHTER. SHE HAD HER FINGERS IN THE WINDOW AND IT WAS ROLLED UP AND THE WINDOW AMPUTATED HER LEFT MIDDLE FINGER TIP ALMOST COMPLETELY OFF FROM BEHIND THE NAIL BED. HANGING ON ONLY BY A PIECE OF SKIN. SHE IS TWO, THEY TRIED TO STITCH IT BACK ON TO NO AVAIL BECAUSE IS HAD SEVERED THROUGH SO MUCH OF HER FINGER. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WILL SO MANY FEATURES MADE READILY AVAILABLE. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS DURING SUNNY ROAD CONDITIONS, THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WERE NOT VISIBLE DUE TO POOR ILLUMINATION. ALSO, THE PILLARS ON THE DRIVER SIDE CREATED BLIND SPOTS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE. IT WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER, WHO DETERMINED THAT THEY WOULD RESEARCH THE PROBLEM TO SEE IF THERE WAS RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE DVD ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE THE REMOTE CONTROL IN ORDER TO TURN THE DVD SCREEN ON AND OFF BECAUSE THE SCREEN DOES NOT HAVE A POWER BUTTON. THIS MADE IT DIFFICULT AND UNSAFE FOR THE DRIVER TO ATTEMPT TO TURN THE SYSTEM ON WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP WAS CONTACTED, AND DETERMINED THAT THE DVD SCREEN WORKED AS DESIGNED. UPDATED 11/30/2006 - IN ORDER TOT URN THE SCREEN ON THE CONSUMER HAD TO LEAN BACK IN THE SEAT AND POINT THE REMOTE TOWARDS THE SCREEN. SOMETIME IT TOO 4-5 ATTEMPTS BEFORE THE SCREEN WOULD TURN ON. *NM
THIRD ROW SEAT IN 2007 YUKON XL IS POTENTIALLY UNSAFE. VEHICLE IS MARKETED AS CAPABLE OF SEATING ADULTS IN THIRD ROW SEAT, BUT DOES NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE SEAT BELTS AND SPACE FOR SAID ADULTS. SEAT BELTS ARE OF INSUFFICIENT LENGTH FOR ADULTS, AND THE RATCHET MECHANISM DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. FURTHERMORE, THE LACK OF SUFFICIENT FOOT ROOM, LEG ROOM, HIP ROOM AND SHOULDER ROOM MAY CAUSE SAID ADULTS TO SEAT THEMSELVES INCORRECTLY--AND TO PURPOSELY AVOID THE USE OF SEAT BELTS--SUCH THAT THEY PREDISPOSE THEMSELVES TO SERIOUS INJURIES OR DEATH IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. *JB
VEHICLE GETS EXTREMELY LOW GAS, 13 MPG ON AVERAGE. BURNS OIL . NEED TO ADD 2-3 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. ENGINE COOLING FAN STAYS ON FOR EXTENDED PERIODS WHILE DRIVING. ALL OF WHICH THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IS NORMAL FOR THE TRUCK. THEY REMOVED THE DRIVESHAFT BECAUSE OF CLUNKING AT 25K MI. REACTION CARRIER REPLACED AND TRANSMISSION RECONDITIONED AT 36,663 MI AFTER CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED IN. AT 62K MILES ENGINE LIGHT ON AND IDLES ROUGH. REPLACED THROTTLE BODY. AT 67K WON'T ENGAGE IN REVERSE AND MAKES CLUNKING SOUND FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. REPLACED REVERSE HOUSING, REACTION SHELL, ETC. AT 75K HAD A REACTION CARRIER FAILURE, LOST POWER BRAKES AND LOST POWER TO THE CAR. ALMOST WAS REAR ENDED. HAD TO STOP IN MIDDLE OF PARKING LOT DURING CHRISTMAS RUSH. WAITED 5 MIN AND RESTARTED. ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON, BUT WAS ABLE TO GET TO DEALERSHIP. WAS TOLD THAT THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE CLEANED EVERY 15K MILES UNDER SERVICE MAINTENANCE. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THIS! NOT REALLY SURE WHY IT HAD TO BE CLEANED, THOUGH, JUST HAD THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED 13K MILES AGO. IT SEEMS THAT THERE ARE MAJOR FLAWS IN THE DESIGN OF THE ENGINE. OBVIOUSLY, THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN PUTTING BAND AIDS ON MY PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX. I HAVE BEEN VERY LUCKY THAT MY FAMILY AND CHILDREN HAVE NOT BEEN IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT DUE TO THE MAJOR FLAWS IN THE ENGINE DESIGNS. EVERY TIME I GET MY CAR FIXED, THE TECH ASSURES ME THAT THEY HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM. I AM REALLY AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR WITH SO MANY CLOSE CALLS. THE CAR IS A HAZARD TO DRIVE! *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE INSPECTING A VEHICLE FOR PURCHASE AT A DEALERSHIP, THE CONTACT'S CHILD WHO WAS SITTING IN THE SECOND ROW SEAT PRESSED THE AUTO FOLDING SEAT CONTROL WHICH KNOCKED THE CHILD BACKWARDS TRAPPING THE CHILD BETWEEN THE TWO ROWS OF SEATS. THE CONTACT FREED THE CHILD BY MANUALLY PULLING THE SECOND ROW SEAT UPWARDS. BOTH THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE ALERTED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE CHILD WAS INJURED. UPDATED 09/22/06
I JUST PURCHASED A 2007 YUKON XL DENALI. IT IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE 2 TETHER ANCHORS IN THE THIRD PASSENGER ROW - IT ONLY HAS 1. I WAS TOLD BEFORE PURCHASING DURING MY COMPARISONS THAT IS WAS LISTED AS HAVING 2. MY OWNERS MANUAL SAID IT HAS 2 AND EVEN HAS A PICTURE OF THEIR LOCATIONS. THERE IS ONLY ONE. I CONTACTED GMC THEY SAID IT MUST OF BEEN A MISPRINT AND IS ILLEGAL TO RETROFIT A TETHER. I HAVE CHILD SEATS IN THE 3RD ROW THAT REQUIRE TETHERS. I NEED AT LEAST 2. THEY BASICALLY SAID TOO BAD. *JB
THE MONITOR FOR THE REAR ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM IS OBSTRUCTING MY REAR VIEW MIRROR VIEW. BETWEEN THE MONITOR AND THE REAR GATE WINDOW LATCH I HAVE ABOUT 2 INCHES OF MID VIEW THAT IS NOT CAUGHT BY THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS. THEY SAID THEY WERE SENDING ME A COUPON FOR AN OIL CHANGE - NOT A GOOD SOLUTION IN MY MIND. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S LIGHTING FOR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS NOT SUFFICIENT ENOUGH TO SEE THE GAUGES AT NIGHT AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS BENT TO THE LEFT. THE SERVICE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE WHO AGREED BOTH PROBLEMS WERE VALID, BUT COULD NOT OFFER A SOLUTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO SOLUTION.*AK UPDATED 08/25/06. *JB
ON JUNE 28, 2006 WHILE LOOKING AT A GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION 2007 YUKON, WITH A RETRACTABLE MIDDLE SEAT. I HAD THE PASSENGER'S REAR DOOR OPENED LOOKING INSIDE AT THE INTERIOR. THE SALESMAN, WITHOUT LOOKING WHERE I WAS, PUSHED THE TOP CONSOLE BUTTON ABOVE THE FRONT SEATS WHICH CAUSED THE SEAT TO QUICKLY AND VERY HARD TO RETRACT, STRIKING THE LEFT SIDE OF MY NECK, TEMPORALLY STUNNING ME. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS OPTION THAT COULD SERIOUSLY HURT SOMEONE NOT KNOWING HOW FAST AND HARD THIS OCCURS. I ALSO DON'T KNOW IF THERE IS ANY SAFETY FEATURE THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN WHILE A SMALL CHILD OR INFANT WAS IN THE SEAT AND SOMEONE ACCIDENTALLY PUSHED THE BUTTON. *JB
THE 2007 GMC YUKON (& CHEVROLET TAHOE) HAVE A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE / PROBLEM. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO READ IN DAYTIME (SUNNY) CONDITIONS. MOST OF THE TIME DURING DAYTIME/SUNNY CONDITIONS YOU CAN NOT JUST GLANCE AT THE INSTRUMENTS TO READ THEM. YOU HAVE TO DIVERT YOUR ATTENTION FOR 2 OR MORE SECONDS TO READ EVEN THE SPEEDOMETER (WHICH IS THE EASIEST TO READ). ALL INSTRUMENTS HAVE BLACK FACES WITH WHITE MARKINGS WHICH ARE LEGIBLE DAY AND NIGHT. THE DAYTIME VISUAL RECOGNITION PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY TWO CONDITIONS. 1) RED POINTERS THAT DO NOT CONTRAST SUFFICIENTLY WITH THE BLACK FACE, AND 2) DASH COWLING SHADING/GLARE PROBLEMS. THE TOP LEFT (OIL PRESSURE) AND TOP RIGHT (VOLTMETER) GAUGES ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO READ. THE BOTTOM RIGHT (COOLANT TEMP) IS VERY DIFFICULT TO READ. THE BOTTOM LEFT (FUEL) IS DIFFICULT TO VERY DIFFICULT TO READ. THE TWO LARGE CENTER GAUGES (TACHOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER) ARE DIFFICULT TO READ. THE TIME / ATTENTION REQUIRED TO READ THESE GAUGES PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE YOU ARE FORCED TO TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD FOR FAR TO LONG (OR TO KEEP REPEATING LOOKS TO CHECK YOUR SPEED / FUEL STATUS. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2007 GMC YUKON AND MADE A ROAD TRIP OF 3000 MILES. TWO DRIVERS HAD SIMILAR VISUAL RECOGNITION PROBLEMS DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS. I GAVE UP EVEN TRYING TO READ THE OTHER GAUGES. IF YOU WEAR SUNGLASSES YOU HAVE TO LIFT THEM TO TRY TO READ THE GAUGES. THERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO (HAVE TO DO) TO LESSEN THE VISUAL RECOGNITION PROBLEM. 1) TURN ON THE LIGHTS (PROVIDES MINIMAL DASH ILLUMINATION), 2) CLOSE THE SUNROOF SHADE (REDUCES GLARE), AND 3) PLACE YOU HAND ABOVE YOUR EYES AS A SHIELD (REDUCES GLARE). I HAVE TALKED TO THE GM DEALER TO SEE IF THEY COULD INCREASE ILLUMINATION ON THE DASH LIGHTING. (THAT WOULD STILL MEAN I WOULD HAVE TO TURN ON THE LIGHTS DURING THE DAY.) BOTTOM LINE - THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING - THEY CAN'T RE-ENGINEER GM'S PRODUCT. *JB
I HAVE BEEN WAITING ABOUT 2 YEARS FOR THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS TO BE REPLACED THROUGH GMC. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN TODAY TO SEE WHAT'S GOING ON AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THEM IN STOCK AND HAVEN'T SINCE MAY. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM TK HOLDINGS INC. AND I AM FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE CARD. WHAT DO I DO?
2007 GMC YUKON HAS A BRAKE SYSTEM ISSUE. CONSUMER STATES THAT THEY HAVE TAKEN THEIR VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND TOLD NOTHING CAN BE DONE FOR THE BRAKE PROBLEM. *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES MADE A SQUEALING NOISE WHICH WAS VERY LOUD AT TIMES. *JB
2007 GMC DENALI HAS A PULL WHEN IT IS NOT MOVING. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE DEALERSHIP CAN NOT FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM AND WANTS TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY RECALLS. *NJ THE CONSUMER NOTICED AN OVERWHELMING JERK WHILE SITTING AT STOP LIGHTS, IN THE DRIVEWAY, OR JUST STOPPED FOR ANY REASON. ALSO, WHEN THE CONSUMER REMOVED HER FOOT FROM THE BRAKE TO ACCELERATE, A THUMP WAS FELT. THE CONSUMER STATED IF FELT AS THOUGH SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. *JB
