TWO WEEKS AGO A WARNING LIGHT WENT ON INDICATING "SERVICE AIR BAG". TOOK CAR IN FOR SERVICE TODAY AND SUMMARY FROM TECH WAS "PERFORMED TECH TWO DIAGNOSTIC SCAN. FOUND DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE B0087 SUPPLEMENTAL INFLATABLE RESTRAINT CIRCUIT. FURTHER DIAGNOSIS IS NEEDED." DECIDED TO EXPLORE VIA INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THERE APPEARS TO BE A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS ISSUE: NHTSA #10023755. IF THE DEALER WAS AWARE OF THIS, THEY DID NOT STATE ANYTHING. SUGGESTION FROM DEALER WAS THAT THEY REPLACE THE SENSOR AND IF THAT DID NOT WORK THEY WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE "SENSOR COMPUTER". *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL EMITTED A GRINDING NOISE AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING ASSEMBLY FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
THERE IS A RECALL ON 2006 GMC YUKONS FOR THE POWER STEERING HOSES AS THEY BECOME FRACTURED AND CAN CAUSE FIRE. I HAVE A 2007 YUKON AND WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE, THEY INDICATED THAT MY YUKON IS STARTING TO SHOW THE SAME FRACTURES IN THE POWER STEERING HOSE. HOPEFULLY THIS CAN GET FIXED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED AS GMC DID NOT BOTHER TO FIX THE KNOWN ISSUE WHEN PRODUCING FUTURE VEHICLES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI XL. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER FIVE TIMES AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 33,000. UPDATED 11/7/08 *CN UPDATED 11/13/08. *JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. *NJ THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED INDICATING A PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR REPAIRS SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL. *JB
THE TRANSMISSION WAS LEAKING AND RECALLED AND THAT WAS FIXED BY GM. THE BRAKE LIGHTS SOMETIMES OVER HEAT AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE SADDLES ON THEM. I DO NOT EVEN KNOW THEY GO OUT BUT I HAVE PEOPLE HONKING AT ME THAT I HAVE NO LIGHTS IN THE REAR. NOW WITH MY WARRANTY OUT AND HAVE 86.000 MILES ON IT THE FUEL PUMP IS OUT ON THE VEHICLE AT A 700 DOLLAR COST. THE DOOR KNOB FELL OFF, I HAVE OIL PRESSURE ISSUES ALL OF THE TIME. LAST NOVEMBER THE DRIVE SHAFT FELL OFF AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HAD TO PICK IT UP OFF OF THE INTERSTATE WHICH SOMEONE COULD HAVE GOTTEN HURT. BRAKE ISSUES. WHEN YOU SPEND 48,000 DOLLARS ON A VEHICLE IT MAKES YOU SAD THAT GM DOES NOTHING TO HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS. MAYBE THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT HELP THEM ANYMORE. TODAY THEY WANTED ME TO TAKE IT TO GM AND PAY 200 DOLLARS FOR A DIAGNOSIS. JUST MORE MONEY IN THEIR POCKET. I WANT TO ANOTHER SHOP FOR ADVISE. THIS CAR IS DEFINITELY A DISAPPOINTMENT ND LEMON. *TR
FIRE. WHILE PARKED IN GARAGE 30 MINUTES AFTER PARKED. INSURANCE INVESTIGATOR (ALLSTATE) DID NOT FIND A SOURCE OF THE FIRE. ENTIRE HOUR AND VEHICLE LOST. *TR
THE BACK UP CAMERA WENT FUZZY AND THEN QUIT WORKING, THE DVD PLAYER, STEREO AND TURN SIGNALS ALL QUIT WORKING. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF BEFORE IT WOULD START WORKING AGAIN. ON THE WAY HOME EVERYTHING QUIT WORKING AGAIN, IT WAS SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE IT WOULD WORK. *TR
DASHBOARD CRACKED ALL OVER, PASSENGER SIDE NEAR AIR BAG AND DRIVER'S CONSOLE.
BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) SOFTWARE CALIBRATIONS CREATE A LOWER BATTERY STATE OF CHARGE THAN INTENDED IN LOW POWER USAGE MODES. MULTIPLE "RE-FLASHING" OF BCM REQUIRED AT GM DEALERS (SEE ATTACHED GM TSB). THIS SAME ISSUE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED/REPAIRED ON MY VEHICLE IN 04/14/08, 07/17/2012, AND 06/01/2016. THERE IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THE SOFTWARE PROGRAMING AND/OR HARD WARE OF THIS RELATED BCM. ADDITIONAL 2007 MODEL YEAR GM TRUCKS AFFECTED (SEE ATTACHED GM TSB).
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING I WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHEN THE DRIVERS SEAT ALL OF THE SUDDEN WENT ALL THE WAY FORWARD AND THE BACK OF THE SEAT WENT STRAIGHT UP, SO THAT MY HUSBANDS FACE WAS IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND HIS LEGS WERE JAMMED UP UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL. HE WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OK. THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON,THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING VERY ROUGH AND USING ALOT OF GAS( 9 MILES TO THE GALLON) 3RD ROW SEAT WILL NOT STAY LOCKED IN PLACE( LOCK TO THE FLOOR) AUTO GARAGE DOOR OPENER IN CAR WILL NOT WORK. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. THE FIRE SPREAD ACROSS THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED AN EXPLOSION, WHICH BURNED DOWN AN ENTIRE HOME. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AT 5 AM. DESIGN OF WINDSHIELD WIPERS ENSURES THAT DRIVER'S VISION WILL BE OBSCURED DURING MODERATE AND HEAVIER SNOWFALL. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY 70 MPH, WHEN THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES LOCKED UP, THE YUKON STARTED VIOLENTLY JERKING AROUND, THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTING VERY HARD,THEN THE CAR SHUT OFF CAUSING NO STEERING. ALL OF THIS HAPPENED IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. IT WAS AN HOUR LATER BEFORE THE CAR WOULD RESTART AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL NOT WORKING RIGHT, SHIFTING GEARS EXTREMELY HARD. *TR
MY 2007 YUKON DENALI WITH THE NEW 6.2 LITRE ENGINE STARTED LEAKING RAW FUEL ONTO MY GARAGE FLOOR DUE TO A DEFECTIVE FUEL INJECTOR AFTER DRIVING 2 MILES HOME FROM WORK. I NOTICED THE SMELL AS I EXITED THE TRUCK IN MY GARAGE. I IMMEDIATELY COASTED THE TRUCK OUT OF THE GARAGE REALIZING I HAD AN OPEN FLAME 10 FEET AWAY FROM A GAS WATER HEATER AND A GAS FURNACE. THE SAME DAY I SAW A BLURB ON THE LOCAL NEWS OF A COUPLE OF HOUSE FIRES INVOLVING 2007 YUKONS. I'M CONVINCED THIS WAS PROBABLY THE SAME SCENARIO BUT I RECOGNIZED THE DANGER INSTEAD OF CLOSING THE GARAGE DOOR AND GOING INTO THE HOUSE. PLEASE LOOK MORE INTO THIS ISSUE. MY PROFESSION IS FIREFIGHTING AND I KNOW THIS COULD HAVE REALLY GOTTEN UGLY IF I HAD NOT NOTICED IT. *TR
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHTING IS CONTROLLED BY THE AUTO "LIGHT SENSOR". WHEN DRIVING IN THE DIRECTION OF THE SUN, THE SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER INSTRUMENTS ARE UNREADABLE ESPECIALLY IF THE DRIVER IS WEARING SUNGLASSES TO SHADE THE EYES. I TRIED TO ASK THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT MAKING A SERVICE CHANGE THAT WOULD HAVE THESE INSTRUMENTS ALWAYS LIGHTED. THEY HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THE COMPLAINT BUT HAVE NO PLANS TO CORRECT THE SITUATION. *TR
SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE MESSAGE CAME UP ON INSTRUMENT PANEL(DIC). SHIFTING INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE AMBER LIGHT KEPT FLASHING DENOTING TRANSFER SHIFT DID NOT OCCUR,HOWEVER SHIFT COULD BE FELT. MANUAL CLEARLY STATES DO NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR TO TRANNY. DEALER FIXED; GOT HOME & SAME PROBLEM . WORKED INTERMITTENTLY. 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. CONSUMER STATES THAT VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD AFTER COMPLETING A LANE CHANGE AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER STATES THAT HE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF THEN PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT. *KB THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE CONSUMERS CONCERN. *JB
MY NAME IS [XXX] , I RESIDE IN TUCSON AZ, I OWN AD MY WIFE AND I DRIVE A 2007 G M C YUKON SLT, MY CONCERN IS OUR YUKON SEEMS TO LUNGE AT TIMES, WHAT I MEAN IS, WHEN WE STOP OUR S U V AT STOPLIGHTS, STOP SIGNS, OR PULLING INTO OUR GARAGE THE RPM RAISES TO WHAT I FEEL IS AN UNSAFE LEVEL .WHICH REQUIRES US TO APPLY THE BRAKES IN A MANNER FOR WHICH I AND MY WIFE FEEL IS EXCESSIVE PRESSURE BEING APPLIED TO THE BRAKES. WE HAVE EXPRESSED OUR CONCERNS TO OUR LOCAL G M C DEALERSHIP MORE THAN FIVE TIMES IN A ONE YEAR TIME FRAME. THEIR RESPONSE IS WE AND OUR TECHS, CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE WE HAVE EXPRESSED! THERE IS A MAJOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH SUV I BOUGHT THE DENALI BECAUSE THAT IS SUPPOSE TO BE THE BEST BUT IT HAS BEEN FAR FROM IT... MY NAV SCREEN DOSE NOT WORK IT HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND STILL DOSE NOT WORK.. MY POWER RUNNING BOARDS DO NOT WORK AND THE HAVE BEEN REPLACED AS WELL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED AN INACCURATE FULL CAPACITY LEVEL WHEN THE FULL TANK WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. THE INCORRECT FUEL GAUGE READING OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
LOW OIL LIGHT FLASHES. OIL IS LOW A QUART TO A QUART AND A HALF EVERY THOUSAND MILES. THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT STATES THERE IS NO OIL PRESSURE AND TO SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. RECENTLY BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND NOW THE DEALER STATES IT MAY BE AN INTERNAL ENGINE PROBLEM. NO DEFINITIVE DIAGNOSIS AND IT IS VERY COSTLY. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR YEARS.... *TR
ON NOVEMBER 25, 2007, I WAS TRAVELING ON I-540, APPROX.65 MPH , A CAR PULLED IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN I APPLIED BRAKES, VEHICLE "ZIG-ZAGED", I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD ROLL OVER. ONSTAR CALLED - I TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND THAT I DIDN'T NEED ANY HELP. ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER GOING APPROX 45 MPH. RAN OVER SOMETHING, DIDN'T SEEM AS BIG AS A POTHOLE - BOTH SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. ONSTAR CALLED THINKING I HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND THAT I WAS 10 MINUTES FROM HOME AND THAT I COULD GET THERE WITHOUT CALLING FOR ASSISTANCE. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP (AUTOPARK BUICK, PONTIAC, GMC IN WENDELL, NC.(I THINK IT WAS TOWED ON 11/29/07). REPORTED TO GM, FINALLY RECEIVED A CALL TO ADVISE THAT IT WAS MY FAULT AND THAT GM WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIRS, ON 12/26/07. REQUESTED A COPY OF THE REPORT IN WRITING, WHICH I FINALLY RECEIVED AFTER 2 REQUESTS ON 01/19/2008. THEIR REPORT STATES THAT THERE WAS ONLY 1 EVENT - 44 MPH - ROLLOVER SENSOR DEPLOYED THE AIRBAGS. I CALLED TO ASK THAT THEY REVIEW THE INFORMATION AGAIN OR HAVE THE "RECORDER IN THE CAR" CHECKED. I WAS TOLD THE FILE WAS CLOSED. CONTACTED ONSTAR AND RECEIVED A LETTER CONFIRMING THE 2 EVENTS . CALLED GM BACK TO TELL THEM I HAD NEW INFORMATION THAT SUPPORTED THE FACT THAT THERE WERE 2 EVENTS, AND THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG ON GM'S END - EITHER THE RECORDER WAS BAD OR THE DATA COLLECTED WAS ACCIDENTALLY ENTERED INCORRECTLY. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FILE WAS CLOSED AND WOULD NOT BE REOPENED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. VEHICLE STILL AT DEALERSHIP - NOT REPAIRED IN CASE ANOTHER INSPECTION NEEDS TO BE MADE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECT AND GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF REPAIRS. *TR
2007- GMC YUKON XL DENALI PURCHASED ON 11/09/2007. 1 WEEK AFTER PICKING UP THIS NEW VEHICLE WE NOTICED DISTORTED IMAGES WHEN DRIVING. THIS IS MOST NOTICEABLE AT NIGHT TIME. THE WINDSHIELD HAS NUMEROUS WAVES THROUGHOUT, CAUSING THE IMAGES TO BE DISTORTED. AFTER DRIVING FOR AWHILE YOU GET A FEELING YOU ARE ON A BOAT, MAKES YOU DIZZY AND GIVES YOU A HEADACHE. THE DEALERSHIP REFERRED ME TO GMC. GMC'S DONNA MOWET (866-790-5600 XT 12023 SERVICE REQUEST #71-622065992) REPORTED TO ME VIA PHONE YESTERDAY (05/20/08) AFTER ABOUT 2 MONTHS, "...THE TECHNICIANS HAVE DETERMINED THAT THIS IS A NORMAL NORMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WINDSHIELD AND THAT NO FURTHER ACTION WILL BE TAKEN BY GMC OR THE DEALERSHIP, HENCE IT DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THE NEW VEHICLE WARRANTY.....". I REQUESTED I BE ALLOWED TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO WHICH SHE STATED "IT WOULD NOT QUALIFY FOR A BUY BACK". PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT NO TECHNICIAN EVER LOOKED AT MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE, THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME OF THAT AND HANDED ME A SERVICE BULLETIN, EXPLAINING THAT I WILL HAVE TO CONTACT GMC. IN ADDITION, I WILL LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT THE SERVICE BULLETIN WAS ISSUES ON FEB. 2008 AFTER THE VEHICLES HAVE BEEN BUILT AND SOLD, NOT BEFORE THEY WERE RELEASED. THERE WERE NO SERVICE BULLETINS AVAILABLE WHEN I MADE MY PURCHASE AND THERE WAS NO WARNING ADVISING ME AS A CONSUMER THAT THE WINDSHIELD HAD NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC FLAWS THAT MAY CAUSE DISTORTION WHILE OPERATING THIS VEHICLE. I AM REQUESTING THAT NHTSA PLEASE LOOK AT THIS MATTER IMMEDIATELY SO NO DEATHS OR INJURIES OCCUR AND HAVE GMC COMPLY WITH THE NEW VEHICLE WARRANTY OR HAVE THEN BUY THE VEHICLE BACK. I WOULD LIKE TO ALSO STATE THAT OUR PREVIOUS VEHICLE WAS A 2002 GMC YUKON XL DENALI AND THAT WE WERE HAPPY AND HAD NO MAJOR ISSUES NOR WAS THE WIND SHIELD WARPED FOR OVER 1000,000 MILES. *TR
THIS NEW VEHICLE HAS SHIFTING PROBLEMS. SOMETIMES THE RPMS WILL REVERSE WHEN YOU STOMP ON THE GAS. IT DOESN'T RESPOND. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN THAT IF YOU PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC, YOU MAY OR MAY NOT GET THE ACCELERATION NEEDED TO AVOID IMPACT. THE TRANSMISSION GOES CRAZY. THE LOCAL GMC CERTIFIED REPAIR SERVICE TECH SAID THAT THEY HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED NOT TO TRY TO WORK ON THE SYSTEM. GMC IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT THERE ARE NO SOLUTIONS. IT WILL ACTUALLY MISS AND LOOSE RPM'S WHEN YOU ACCELERATE IN MOUNTAIN TERRAINS. IT IS ONLY SOMEWHAT RELIABLE IN HIGHWAY TRAVEL THAT IS FLAT. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED SOON IF NOT ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. *JB
ON THE DASHBOARD, THERE IS A BUTTON WITH A STICK FIGURE IN A SITTING POSITION AND AN ARROW AT THE FEET OF THE STICK FIGURE TO INDICATE AIR TO BE DISCHARGED AT THE FLOOR BY THE FAN. WHEN I PUSH THAT BUTTON FOR HEATING, UNFORTUNATELY, 80-90% OF THE AIR IS BEING DISCHARGED AT THE TOP OF THE DASHBOARD THROUGH A SMALL VENT ON THE FAR RIGHT AND LEFT OF THE WINDSHIELD, WHICH ARE DESIGNED TO BLOW ON THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE WINDOWS TO DEFROST THEM. THERE IS ADDITIONAL LEAKAGE OF A SMALL VOLUME OF AIR AT THE DEFROST VENT FOR THE WINDSHIELD AND, WHATEVER'S LEFT, BLOWS ON THE FLOOR. THE NET RESULT IS THE VEHICLE IS PUMPING MOST OF THE HOT AIR TO THE CEILING (BECAUSE THE SMALL DASHBOARD VENTS POINT UP) WHERE HOT AIR NATURALLY WANTS TO BE AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET HOT AIR ON THE FLOOR WHERE, ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL, THE MAJORITY OF THE AIR SHOULD BE DIRECTED. ALSO MENTIONED WHILE THE WARNING MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED, AIRBAGS WILL OR MAY NOT DEPLOY AND WOULD BE A DANGER TO SHORT PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE SEAT FULLY FORWARD. I ACCELERATED ONTO THE FREEWAY TO CATCH UP WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC ON MY 2007 GMC YUKON. WHEN I HIT TOP SPEED IN THE 3RD LANE NOT EVEN A QUARTER OF A MILE AT 65-70MPH, THE ACCELERATOR GOT STUCK MAKING MY VEHICLE TRAVEL AT 80-90MPH ON ITS OWN. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE BUT MY VEHICLE WAS STILL ACCELERATING. I THEN PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND TOOK THE NEXT CLOSEST EXIT. I WAS BLOCKING THE EXIT WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC BEHIND ME AND LUCKILY A FEW GOOD SAMARITANS HELP ME PUSH MY VEHICLE TO SAFETY. MONDAY MORNING 8/20/07 I NOTIFIED THE DEALER ABOUT THE ACCIDENT AND IT WASN'T UNTIL 8/21/07 TUESDAY I RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE COMPUTER AND AM VERY UPSET THAT I WAS NOT NOTIFIED BY MAIL OR BY PHONE CALL BY GMC. THE PLASTIC ON THE WINDOW FELL OFF AND THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE STICKS WHEN IT IS PULLED, AND WILL NOT GO BACK IN. THE CONTACT HEARS A RUBBING SOUND COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 29,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,229. I BOUGHT 2007 DENALI ON 8/15 AND IT HAD TO GO IN FOR REPAIR 8/17 BECAUSE THE ENGINE HOT/AC TURNED OFF CAME ON. GOT THE CAR BACK 8/20 AT 7PM AND 8 AM THE NEXT MORNING 8/21 THE SAME MESSAGE CAME UP ON THE DASH BOARD. I WAS TOLD IT WAS OK TO DRIVE UNTIL I COULD GET IT IN FOR REPAIR AGAIN ON 8/22. TRIED TO START THE CAR ON 8/22 AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START. I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE AT ALL AND WOULD LIKE TO GET A BRAND NEW TRUCK AS SINCE I AM PAYING $48,000 FOR THE TRUCK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE REAR HATCH LIGHT BEGAN ILLUMINATING. THIS CAUSED THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS TO ILLUMINATE, THE DOOR AJAR ALARM TO SOUND, AND DISABLED ALL OF THE BUTTONS ON THE REMOTE AND INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE ACCESSED MANUALLY. FIRST, THE COMPUTER CODES WERE RESET, BUT THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS WIRING FAILURE AND REPLACED THE WIRING; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. FINALLY, THE ENTIRE HATCH WAS REPLACED AND THERE HAD BEEN NO FURTHER OCCURRENCES. ON NOVEMBER 6, 2007, THE STABLE TRACK WAS NOT DRIVING PROPERLY AND THE DRIVER'S SEAT MADE A CRUNCHING NOISE WHENEVER IT WAS MOVED. THE DEALER CLEARED THE ELECTRONIC CODES AGAIN AND DAMAGED THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. ON DECEMBER 26, 2007, THE HATCH AREA WAS LEAKING AND CREATED PUDDLES OF WATER IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SEAL WAS LEAKING AND IT WAS REPLACED AND APOXIED. THE VEHICLE HAS TO GO BACK TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE SEAL HAS LOOSENED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13,380 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 459.

II HAVE HAD MY 2007 YUKON SINCE SEPT 2006. APPROX 3 WEEKS AGO I BEGAN TO HAVE TROUBLE GETTING THE VEHICLE STARTED. WHEN TURNING THE KEY, IT HAD TO BE HELD FOR ABOUT 20-30 SECONDS BEFORE IT WOULD FINALLY CRANK UP. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES AND IS CURRENTLY STILL THERE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD A VARIETY OF REASONS FOR THE WAY MY CAR STARTS THAT IT IS A NORMAL "EXTENDED START", THAT THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE MY PROBLEM, AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS JUST PROGRAMMED THAT WAY. I KNOW THEY HAVE HEARD THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE SERVICE MANAGER STOOD BY ME WHILE I CRANKED THE VEHICLE TO DEMONSTRATE THE PROBLEM! WE ARE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS AND THE DEALERSHIP GAVE US BLANKET STATEMENTS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED THE SENSOR IN THE SEAT, HOWEVER THE SAME PROBLEM PERSISTS. AFTER THE FIRST FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE SOFTWARE IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, THE FAILURE RECURRED SIX MONTHS LATER AT THE SAME SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED ON THIS OCCASION BECAUSE THE CONTACT ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO SIT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES. THE ENGINE RESTARTED AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THEY ATTEMPTED TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE AGAIN; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED LESS THAN ONE WEEK LATER. THE DEALER UPDATED THE SOFTWARE FOR THE THIRD TIME, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUES TO RECUR. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO PERMANENTLY REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING WHEEL MOUNTED RADIO CONTROLS ON SOME 2007 GMC YUKON DENALI TRUCKS WITH THE SIX DISC CD CHANGER. ONE OF THESE CONTROLS IS SUPPOSE TO ALLOW YOU TO CHANGE THE DISC THAT IS PLAYING TO ANOTHER ONE OF THE SIX THAT YOU HAVE LOADED INTO THE CHANGER. ON SOME OF THESE TRUCKS THE WRONG WIRING HARNESS WAS INSTALLED WHEN THE TRUCK WAS BUILT ALONG WITH THE WRONG SOFTWARE BEING LOADED INTO THE ELECTRONIC MODULE. THIS PREVENTS THIS CONTROL FROM FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. INSTEAD OF CHANGING THE DISC THAT IS PLAYING, IT SIMPLE GOES TO THE NEXT SONG ON THAT SAME CD. THERE IS ALREADY A CONTROL ON THE STEERING COLUMN TO DO THIS. WHEN I BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP HE SAID AT FIRST THAT THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROL MODULE WAS BAD AND THEN THAT THE RADIO WAS DEFECTIVE. BOTH ITEMS WERE REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM REMAINS. HE THEN CHECKED SOME OF THE OTHER YUKON DENALIS THAT HE HAD IN STOCK AND TOLD ME THAT ON SOME OF THESE CARS THE CONTROLS WORKED PROPERLY AND ON SOME THEY DID NOT. HE THEN TOLD ME ABOUT THE WIRING HARNESS AND SOFTWARE PROBLEM. GM'S POSITION IS THAT THESE CARS ARE BUILT PROPERLY AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. PAGE 336 OF THE OWNERS MANUAL CLEARLY SAYS THAT THIS BUTTON SHOULD CHANGE THE DISC THAT IS PLAYING. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SAFETY PROBLEM BECAUSE NOW WHEN YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE DISC YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD AND LOOK DOWN TO THE MIDDLE OF THE DASHBOARD AND LOCATE A SMALL 1/4" BY 1/2" BUTTON AND PUSH IT. THIS CAN CAUSE YOU TO DRIFT OUT OF YOUR LANE OF TRAVEL, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS, AFTER ALL, IS A PRIMARY PURPOSE OF STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS FOR RADIOS-YOU CAN KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD. I HOPE YOU WILL LOOK INTO THIS MATTER AND FORCE GM TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY PROBLEM. *JB

AS I TRIED TO EXCEL THE ENGINE JUST REVVED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I PUT INTO 3RD, BUT WHEN I MADE A STOP I HAD TO PUT INTO 2ND. STOPPED AGAIN, HAD TO GO TO FIRST, WOULDN'T MOVE IN ANY OTHER GEAR AND BARELY IN FIRST. I WAS NEAR THE DEALER THANK GOODNESS AND PULLED IN THERE. *JB
FRONT PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE PULLED TO OPEN DOOR)HAD THE PAINTED CHROME FINISH PEELING AT THE TOP SEAM OF THE HANDLE. THE PEELING FINISH CUT SEVERAL PASSENGERS WHILE OPENING THE DOOR. CUTS WERE SIMILAR TO A PAPER CUT BUT MORE SEVERE. *AK
THE COOLING FAN IS VERY LOUD AND STAYS ON FOR AN ABNORMAL AMOUNT OF TIME WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK OR AT A STOP WHILE ON ONLY WHEN THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE IS OVER 85 DEGREES. THE FAN WILL CONTINUE TO STAY ON WHILE DRIVING FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES. SOMETIMES IT WON'T SHUT OFF UNTIL THE CAR IS SHUT OFF AND THEN RESTARTED. HAD IT FOR REPAIR ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AT GMC AND THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT IS WAS NORMAL. *TR
THE BRAKES MAKE VERY LOUD NOISE. THERE IS UNEVEN PAD WEAR AND BRAKE SCORING. THE VEHICLE HAS 3500 MILES AND IS BRAND NEW CONDITION. THE DEALER SAID SUCH NOISE, PAD WEAR AND SCORING IS NORMAL.*JB
