CRACKED DASH NEAR AIRBAG. THIS SEEMS DANGEROUS.
I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2016 AND IT IS NOW OCTOBER 23-2016 AND THERE HAS BEEN NO INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT WILL BE DONE TO FIX THIS RECALL. WHAT IS THE NORMAL TIME LINE FOR A SAFETY RECALL AND WHEN WILL I GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED? IS IT SAFE TO DRIVE AND HAVE PASSENGERS IN IT?

TAKATA RECALL IN JULY OF 2016 I RECEIVED A NOTICE RE TAKATA AIRBAGS FROM GMC THAT THEY WERE DEFECTIVE BUT SAFE TO DRIVE. SINCE 2016 I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND AS OF 1/7/2019 WE ARE STILL BE TOLD THAT GMC IS CONTINUING TO FIGHT AGAINST THE RECALL AND REFUSES TO FIX A DEFECTIVE UNSAFE CAR. OVER 2 YEARS WITH AN UNSAFE VEHICLE THAT CANNOT BE SOLD EITHER.

CRACKS IN THE DASH HAVE APPEARED. ONE CRACK IS ABOVE LEFT OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE OTHER IS FORWARD OF AND NEXT TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS STAYED UNDER COVERED PARKING. NOTICED THE CRACKS AS I WAS DRIVING AND DASH NOW RATTLES.

IT IS NOW JANUARY 2017, AND A DELAY IN REPAIRING THIS ISSUE IS UNACCEPTABLE. EITHER REPLACE THE AIR BAG OR REPLACE THE VEHICLE WITH AN EQUIVALENT.

TAKATA RECALL, FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATORS ARE DEFECTIVE. THE INFLATOR CAN DEGRADE OVER TIME , ESPECIALLY AFTER LONG TERM EXPOSURE IN HOT AND HUMID REGIONS. PLUS MY DASH IS CRACKING. THE DASH HAS CRACKED SO MUCH THAT THE AIR BAG ARES IS PUSHED UP.

"TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2016 AND RECEIVED A POSTCARD FROM TK HOLDINGS IN OCTOBER 2017 REGARDING THE AIRBAG RECALL AND CHAPTER 11 FILING. I HAVE CALLED MY GMC DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS DURING THE PAST 16 MONTHS TO SCHEDULE THE FREE REPAIR PURSUANT TO THE RECALL AND AM REPEATEDLY INFORMED THE DEALER DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO ADDRESS THE RECALL AND REPAIR MY VEHICLE. I WOULD APPRECIATE RECEIVING MORE INFORMATION AS TO THE EXPECTED DATE FOR THE REPAIR OF MY YUKON THAN "WE DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR YOUR CAR AND DO NOT HAVE MORE INFORMATION AS TO THE TIMELINE WHEN WE WILL HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR YOUR CAR." THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE BASED UPON THE POTENTIAL RISK THAT EXISTS THIS EXPOSES TO ME AND MY FAMILY.

I RECEIVED NOTICE JULY 2016 THERE IS A RECALL ON THE TAKATA AIR BAGS. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO CORRECT THE RECALL. IT IS NOW JANUARY 2018 AND IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED/REPLACED.
TAMARA RECALL
THE DASH HAS CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AS WELL AS THE AIRBAG BY GAUGE HOUSING ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THESE CRACKS ARE LARGE ENOUGH THAT THE ENTIRE DASH RATTLES FROM VIBRATIONS AND COULD POSSIBLY AFFECT THE PROPER AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
I NOTICED WHILE DRIVING MY DASHBOARD HAS TWO CRACKS ONE ON THE HUMP WHERE STEERING WHEEL IS AND THE OTHER ON PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THE CRACK ON DRIVE SIDE IS HUGE. AND IN THE MIDDLE OF DASHBOARD WHERE THE AIR VENT IS THERE IS NOW STARTING TO BE A SEPARATION.

"TAKATA RECALL" IN MAY OF 2016 HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED WITH MY VEHICLE. THE DASHBOARD ALSO HAS CRACKS IN IT IN THE LOCATION OF THE AIR BAGS.
I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THAT THERE IS A RECALL SINCE MAY 27, 2016 ON THE AIRBAGS TO MY DENALI. HOWEVER, EACH TIME I HAVE SPOKEN TO BARKLEY GMC IN TUSCALOOSA AL I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS NO PARTS AVAILABLE OR THAT THERE IS NO REMEDY. YET THE WEBSITE AT HTTPS://WWW.AIRBAGRECALL.COM/EN/CHECK-YOUR-VEHICLE HAS NOTED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THAT I SHOULD CONTACT A DEALER. IF THERE IS A RECALL AND I AM BEING INFORMED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THAT IT SHOULD BE SERVICED THEN WHY AM I UNABLE TO OBTAIN THAT SERVICE? THIS APPEARS TO BE A VERY BIG CONCERN SINCE IT INVOLVES A RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS TO MY FAMILY VEHICLE. NHTSA-2016-0124 HAS BEEN PENDING SINCE 2016. GM HAS FILED A PETITION OF INCONSEQUENTIALITY. WHEN IS NHTSA GOING TO REACH A CONCLUSION ON THIS? IT IS WELL PAST THE DEADLINES NHTSA SET FOR GM TO PROVE THEIR CASE.
THERE HAS BEEN AN OUTSTANDING RECALL TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG(S) IN THIS VEHICLE. UNDERSTANDING THAT IT IS A WIDESPREAD RECALL THAT AFFECTS MANY VEHICLES BUT WHAT IS CONCERNING IS THAT THE RECALL STATES THAT IT IS MOST AFFECTED BY "LONG TERM EXPOSURE IN HOT AND HUMID REGIONS" WHICH THIS VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN FLORIDA. I PERIODICALLY CHECK WITH THE DEALER AND THEY ALWAYS ADVISE THAT THERE'S NO UPDATE. I WOULD THINK IT SHOULD BE HANDLED MORE EXPEDITIOUSLY DUE TO THIS VEHICLE QUALIFYING TO THE EXACT CONDITIONS OF THE RECALL NOTICE AND THAT THIS VEHICLE IS NOW TWELVE YEARS OLD ALL WHICH HAS BEEN IN FLORIDA (A HOT AND HUMID REGION). I HAVE CONTACTED GM AND THE LOCAL DEALERSHIPS FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS ASKING TO HAVE MY AIRBAGS REPLACED IN MY 2008 GMC YUKON PER THE DIRECTIVE OF NHTSA. EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN TOLD GM DOES NOT AGREE WITH NHTSA RECALL AND GM REFUSES TO REPLACE DANGEROUS AIRBAGS. I HAVE EMAILS AND OTHER MESSAGES FROM GM. I NOTICED RECENTLY THEY WERE ORDERED TO REPLACE ALL AIRBAGS. HOWEVER GM STILLS SAYS THEY DO NOT AGREE. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

TAKATA RECALL. I CALLED THE GMC DEALER AGAIN FOR THIS AIRBAG ISSUE ON 10-24-17, AND THEY STATED THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE. THIS HAS BEEN A CONCERN SINCE MAY 2016. WAITING FOR PARTS IS NOT AN OPTION, SINCE THIS ISSUE WAS IDENTIFIED OVER A YEAR AGO. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN.
