DASH IS CRACKED IN NUMEROUS PLACES FOR NO REASON.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC YUKON DENALI. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED; THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO RECALL 09V154000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). HE WAS ABLE TO RESET THE LIGHT AND IT TURNED OFF; HOWEVER, THE NEXT DAY THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. SHORTLY AFTER, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE HAD A SHORTAGE AND REPLACED THE MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 80,272.
WHILE DRIVING FROM GA TO LA ON CHRISTMAS EVE, MY YUKON XL WENT INTO REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND LOST TRACTION CONTROL AND ANTILOCK BRAKES. THE CAR ALMOST INSTANTLY DROPPED FROM 72MPH TO 45MPH AND THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. I WAS ADVISED BY ONSTAR TO PULL THE CAR OVER AND TURN IT OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES. WHEN I STARTED IT AGAIN, POWER WAS RESTORED, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT REMAINED. I WAS ADVISED THAT THE CAR WOULD PROBABLY DO THE SAME THING AND THAT I SHOULD HAVE IT SERVICED IMMEDIATELY, ON THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, WHICH WAS MONDAY DECEMBER 27TH. WHILE DRIVING TO A DESTINATION ABOUT 30 MILES AWAY ON SUNDAY, THE CAR WENT INTO REDUCED POWER AGAIN AND THE WARNING LIGHTS RETURNED. THIS TIME TURNING THE ENGINE OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES DID NOT HELP AND POWER REDUCTION REMAINED. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING AND WAS TOLD THAT THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WAS BAD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED, BUT THAT THE PART WAS BACKORDERED AT THE FACTORY, SO MY VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. I CALLED MY DEALER IN GA TO SEE IF THEY HAD THE PART, BUT THEY ALSO HAD TWO ON BACKORDER FOR TWO OTHER CUSTOMERS. AS A RESULT, MY VEHICLE, WHICH IS ONLY A YEAR OLD AND UNDER WARRANTY, CANNOT BE REPAIRED AND IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAYS. THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. AFTER CHECKING ONLINE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, I DISCOVERED THAT MANY PEOPLE DRIVING GM VEHICLES ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC YUKON. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY BETWEEN 30-40 MPH, THE REDUCE ENGINE POWER WARNING MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE STABILITRAK WARNING LIGHT ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE ENGINE COMPLETELY STALLED AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE RESUMED WITH SLIGHT ENGINE POWER AT THE SPEED OF 10 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOUR TIMES AND IT WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED POOR QUALITY OF FUEL WAS DISPENSED IN THE FUEL TANK. THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED; THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR AND THROTTLE BODY UNIT WERE CLEANED. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO WEEKS AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY MILEAGE WAS 21,910. UPDATED 07/08/11 *BF UPDATED 07/20/11

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC YUKON XL. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH ATTEMPTING A LEFT TURN WHEN THE STEERING COLUMN COMPLETELY LOCKED AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND THE KEYS WERE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AS IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 20,000.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT ABOUT 55 OR 60 MPH WITH NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME OR BEHIND ME, THE SUNROOF OF MY 2009 GMC YUKON EXPLODED. I SAY IT EXPLODED BECAUSE THE NOISE WAS DEAFENING LIKE AN EXPLOSION. THE COVERING TO THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR WAS CLOSED OR GLASS WOULD HAVE GONE ON OR IN ME. GM REPRESENTATIVE CLAIMS THIS IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND SO WE ARE PAYING OUR DEDUCTIBLE & THE INSURANCE WILL PAY FOR ALL THE REPAIRS BUT THAT $250. *TR

OUR 2009 GMC YUKON DENALI WAS TOTALED IN A CRASH. THE BATTERY WAS DESTROYED ,CUTTING ALL ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE VEHICLE. THE DOORS,WHICH AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHEN IN DRIVE, WERE LOCKED, AND IN HER CONFUSION COULD NOT EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT WAS ALSO USELESS. THERE NEEDS TO BE A BACKUP BATTERY IN A LESS VULNERABLE LOCATION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC YUKON HYBRID. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, "SERVICE BRAKES SOON" APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT CALLED THE LEASING COMPANY ABOUT THE BRAKES, BUT THEY FAILED SOON AFTER. HE RAN A RED LIGHT AND DROVE UP A SMALL HILL. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE LEASING COMPANY. THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE DUE TO THE BRAKE FAILURE. A RECALL WAS ISSUED, WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 12,000.
