DASHBOARD CRACKED RIGHT AT CORNER OF AIRBAG AND CONCERNED THIS WILL AFFECT THE AIRBAG PERFORMANCE
DASHBOARD CRACKS OVER PASSENGER AIRBAG AND STEERING WHEEL WELL.
1. CRACKED DASHBOARD - CRACKED DASHBOARD - DASHBOARD IS DETERIORATING. NUMEROUS CRACKS. VEHICLE IS PARKED IN THE SHADE 90% OF THE TIME AND AFTER 30,000 MILES ON IT. IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT. THERE IS A DASHBOARD CRACK NEXT TO THE AIRBAG ON THE DASHBOARD. MY CONCERN IS WITH THE TAKATA INFLATORS AND POTENTIAL SHRAPNEL PRODUCED FROM THE ROTTING DASHBOARD BECOMING AIRBORNE DURING AN ACCIDENT. THERE IS A WEBSITE THAT SHOWS THE MAJORITY OF THESE GM DASHBOARDS ARE DEFECTIVE AND FALLING APART BEYOND COSMETIC APPEARANCE. WHAT KIND OF SAFETY TESTING HAS BEEN DONE IN RELATION TO CRACKED DASHBOARDS CAUSING INJURIES? 2. TAKATA RECALL - THERE SHOULD BE A SOLUTION TO THE TAKATA INFLATOR ISSUE AND A RECALL ON GM CRACKED PLASTIC DASHBOARDS. IT IS PAST AUGUST OF 2017 AND I HAVE HEARD NOTHING REGARDING THE AIRBAG ISSUE SOLUTION. (WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER - OURSIMAN OF ALEXANDRIA, VA ) THAT NO SOULTION IS AVAILE FOR THE AIRBAG.I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. 3. TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES - LINES HAVE BEEN LEAKING FOR YEARS. SPECIFICALLY CALLED OUT IN THE WARRANTY COVERAGE AS NOT COVERED???IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE WITH ALL YUKON AND OTHER VECHICLES
I BOUGHT A 2010 YUKON DENALI AND THE DASH STARTED CRACKING ALL THE WAY TO THE AIRBAG. IT STARTED AS ONE SMALL CRACK AND IS NOW ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE DASH AT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. UPON INVESTIGATING IT I FOUND THAT SEVERAL THOUSAND OTHERS ARE DEALING WITH THE SAME DANGEROUS DEFECT IN YUKON AND TAHOE VEHICLES DATED 2007-2014 MODELS. GM REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS OR RECALL THIS. THIS COULD BE POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS IF THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED AND THE DASH COMES OFF IN SEVERAL SHARP PIECES. ALSO, MY DOOR HANDLES ARE ALL COMING OFF AND THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLES CHROME IS PEELING OFF AND CUTTING MY HAND. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BUT GM WILL NOT HELP ALL OF US WHO HAVE THIS ISSUE. A LAWYER IS WORKING TO MAKE A LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM BUT MOST ARE AFRAID THAT NOTHING WILL HAPPEN GOING UP AGAINST GM WHO HAS THE TIME AND MONEY TO JUST IGNORE THIS UNTIL SOMEONE IS SEVERELY HURT. A NEWLY DESIGNED DASH NEEDS TO BE MADE. OTHERS WHO HAVE GOT NEW DASHES HAVE HAD THEIR NEW DASHES CRACK AS WELL BECAUSE THE SAME DEFECTIVE DASH AS THE FIRST WAS RE-INSTALLED AND HAD THE SAME OUTCOME AS THE FIRST. *TR
TIME HAS HAPPENED. POOR MANUFACTURING!!! MY DASH CRACKED ON IT'S OWN AS YOU HAVE HAD MILLIONS OF COMPLAINTS. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR YOU TO RECALL THESE DASHES? MINE IS CRACKED BY THE AIR BAD AND IS EXPOSING WIRE!!! HOW IS THIS SAFE, WHY DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO SEE THIS? IS THIS THE QUALITY THAT GM STANDS BY! THE CRACK JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE! YOU CAN SEE THE HUGE GAPING HOLE WITH THE WIRES EXPOSED. IF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYS A LAW SUIT WILL BE IN ACTION! THIS DOCUMENTATION THAT I HAVE WRITTEN OVER AND OVER WILL BE KNOWN AS WELL AS YOU NOT RESPONDING! I AM VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! PLEASE NOTE MY SUV IS STORED IN A GARAGE AS WELL!!!
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING IN SEVERAL PLACES. THIS DEFECT STARTED A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND KEEPS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MARK CHRISTOPHER AUTO CENTER (LOCATED AT 2131 E CONVENTION CENTER WAY, ONTARIO, CA 91764) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE 2010-14 MODELS EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER:[XXX]. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE, STABILITRAK, AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE ALSO SHOOK AND LOST POWER. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT A SQUEAKING NOISE AND A BURNING ODOR WERE COMING FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT AN UNBALANCED WHEEL WAS MAKING THE VEHICLE SHAKE AND THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL HUB SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED FIVE MILES FROM THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,221. I OWN A 2010 GMC YUKON DENALI WITH ONLY 80000 AND THE DASH IS ALL CRACKED AND GMC WON'T PAY FOR DAMAGES. THIS IS A HAZARD CAUSE IT'S CRACKED RIGHT ABOVE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND DRIVER STEERING WHEEL.
LARGE CRACK AND SEPARATED DASH NEXT TO THE LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. CONCERNED THAT THE DASH IS UNSTABLE AND COULD BE A HAZARD DURING AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE ECM WAS DEFECTIVE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ECM BUT THE REPAIR DID NOT REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER SENT THE CONTACT A SPECIAL ORDER REPAIR FOR THE THROTTLE BODY DUE TO REDUCED ENGINE POWER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE STALLING ISSUE HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO ACCEPT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STALLING. THE DEALER REPLACED THE THROTTLE CONTROL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
2010 GMC YUKON SLT, I WAS DRIVING ALONG THE HIGHWAY AT 55MPH, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY LOST POWER. A DISPLAY MESSAGE CAME ACROSS "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" . THE VEHICLE LOST ALL ACCELERATION, MOVED OVER TO THE RIGHT LANE ALMOST STALLING OUT IN THE SHOULDER LANE. LUCKILY, I WAS CLOSE TO HOME . I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP, HAD THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED. ($602.00) . I WILL PICK UP THE VEHICLE TOMORROW HOPEFULLY IT IS FIXED. THIS IS SERIOUS MANUFACTURES DEFECT PLUS A COSTLY REPAIR. AS I RESEARCHED INFORMATION I SEE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER OF THIS GM PRODUCT THAT CAN LEAD TO DISASTROUS ENDING. HOPEFULLY, THE NHTSA WILL DO THEIR OWN INVESTIGATION ON THE THROTTLE BODY'S AND DISCOVER THAT THIS IS PART MUST BE RECALLED BEFORE FATALITIES OCCUR!!. *TR
ON A SNOW AND ICE COVERED HIGHWAY WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC WHILE TRAVELING AT 65 MPH, I SUDDENLY GOT A "REDUCING ENGINE POWER" MESSAGE ON THE DISPLAY FOLLOWED BY A "SERVICE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM" MESSAGE. AS MY VEHICLE QUICKLY LOST POWER, TO INCLUDE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES, I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. AFTER GETTING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF THEN ON AGAIN, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ANOTHER 2 MILES; THEN THIS HAPPENED AGAIN AND AGAIN A THIRD TIME BEFORE GETTING TO THE DEALER. I HAVE READ REPORTS FROM OTHER GMC YUKON DRIVERS AS FAR BACK AS 2001 WHO HAVE REPORTED THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY, GMC HAS DONE NOTHING TO ADDRESS THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE DESPITE CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS. UNADDRESSED THIS SAFETY ISSUE IS HIGHLY LIKELY TO CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH AS A RESULT OF A VEHICLE CRASH. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE INITIATED IMMEDIATELY! *TR
DASH CRACKED AND A BIG CHUNK FELL OUT RIGHT BESIDE THE AIR BAG TO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM SOME ONE NEEDS TO FORCE A RECALL ON THIS
THE DASH BOARD IS CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THERE IS NO APPARENT REASON THIS HAPPENED. I HAVE OWNED 2 OTHER YUKONS IN THE PAST AND THE DASH BOARDS NEVER CRACKED. A FRIEND MENTIONED THIS WEBSITE TO REPORT IT TO. I HOPE GM FIXES THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD DEVELOPED A CRACK NEXT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED BEFORE OR AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEMONTROND BUICK GMC DEALER (14101 NORTH FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77090) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
I PURCHASED A 2010 YUKON DENALI AND THE DASHBOARD STARTED CRACKING. IT STARTED AS A SMALL CRACK THAT WAS BARELY NOTICED AND IS NOW A LARGE CRACK ACROSS THE DASH BETWEEN THE AIR VENTS. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT SEVERAL OTHER CONSUMERS ARE DEALING WITH THE SAME DEFECT IN YUKON MODELS MANUFACTURED SINCE 2010. THIS IS POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS IF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY AND THE DASH COMES OFF IN SEVERAL SHARP PIECES AS SHOWN IN THE TAKATA RECALL ISSUE.
I HAVE A CRACKED DASHBOARD AT THE CORNER OF PASSENGER AIRBAG AND ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.
THE DASH BOARD BEGAN CRACKING AFTER ONE YEAR AND IS NOW CRACKED, IN MULTIPLE PLACES, FROM SIDE TO SIDE. THE CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS SURROUNDED THE AIR BAG AND CONTINUES DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT. THE INTEGRITY OF THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS BEEN COMPLETELY COMPRIMISED.
THIRD PARTY POWER WINDOW INJURY. I PUT THE BACK SEAT WINDOW UP FROM THE FRONT SEAT AND CRUSHED MY 7 YEAR OLD CHILD'S FINGER IN THE WINDOW CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY TO HER FINGER. SHE REQUIRED 8 STITCHES TO REPAIR THE TIP OF HER FINGER WHICH HAD BASICALLY BLOWN OPEN. *TR

THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE AUTOMATIC TRUNK MECHANISM AND SUDDENLY THE TRUNK LID CLOSED ON HIS HAND WHICH RESULTED IN A MINOR INJURY TO THE HAND DURING THE IMMEDIATE CLOSURE. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS NOT AN ALERT SAFETY FEATURE EQUIPPED ON THE VEHICLE FOR THE TRUNK CLOSURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.

MY AIRBAGS ARE POTENTIALLY DEADY, BUT THE NHTSA IS ALLOWING GMC TO SKIRT THE RECALL. GUESS MONEY AND INFLUENCE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN MINE AND MY FAMILY'S LIVES.
