THE PLASTIC DASH BOARD HAS CRACKED. IT STARTED OUT SMALL COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND STRETCHING TO THE EDGE OF THAT DASH PANEL. NOW A SECOND PART OF THE DASH HAS CRACKED BY THE DRIVER SIDE OVER THE INSTRUMENT GAUGE CLUSTER. THE PORTION OF THE DASH THAT'S CRACKED BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS MY BIGGEST CONCERN AS IT COULD BREAK OFF AND CAUSE SHARP PIECES TO HIT THE PASSENGER IN THE FACE OF THE AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED. MY GMC DEALER STATED MY EXTENDED WARRANTY DOESN'T COVER THIS "COSMETIC" ISSUE AND THEREFORE I WILL HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET FOR A PORTION OF THE COST. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I'M THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HE VEHICLE IS GARAGED. THERE COULD BE NO LONG TERM DAMAGE TO THE DASH OTHER THAN WHAT IT'S INTENDED TO DO WHICH IS TO BE UNDER THE WINDSHIELD. GMC - OWN THIS ISSUE AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM PLEASE. I'M NOT LIKELY TO BE A REPEAT CUSTOMER OF YOU CAN'T PRODUCE A SUPERIOR AND RELIABLE PRODUCT -OR- BE RESPONSIBLE AND CORRECT AN ISSUE THAT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT.
DASHBOARD CRACKED ABOVE STEERING WHEEL AND ABOVE PASSENGER AIR BAG. RATTLES AND SHAKES CONSTANTLY. AFRAID IT MAY AFFECT THE AIR BAG AND BE A HAZARD. CRACKS SEEM TO BE GETTING BIGGER.
2010 GMC YUKON HAS BEEN CRACKING OVER THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THEN ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. WE NOTICED THE CRACKS WHILE CLEANING SINCE IT HAS A DASH COVER. VEHICLE IS GARAGED AND ALWAYS HAS A DASH MAT AND WINDSHIELD SHADE. THIS IS DANGEROUS IF THE AIRBAGS WERE TO GO OFF.
THE DASHBOARD ON OUR 2010 YUKON DENALI XL IS CRACKED OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IT'S HORRIBLE SOUNDING AND CAUSES BIG CONCERN FOR A SAFETY ISSUE. IT CAN BE A PROJECTILE DURING A CRASH OR EVEN WORSE. GM SHOULD PLACE A RECALL SINCE THOUSANDS OF GM VEHICLES HAVE THIS SAME IDENTICAL ISSUE. WE ALL PAY ENOUGH FOR THEIR VEHICLES. WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR DEFECTS AS BAD AS THIS ONE.
MY DASH IS CRACKED LEADING TO PASSENGER AIRBAG. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT A COVERED TIME AND IT WOULD COST ME $1200 TO FIX. DASH JUST STARTED TO CRACK.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CRACK IS 12 INCHES LONG. IT IS ALSO CRACKED COMPLETELY TO AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE. THIS CAUSES VERY LOUD RATTLING WHEN DRIVING. I AM CONCERNED IT AFFECTS THE QUALITY OF THE AIRBAG'S ABILITY TO DEPLOY. I AM CONCERNED THAT DASHBOARD FRAGMENTS MAY BE PROPELLED IN THE EVENT OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
I GOT IN MY CAR TO TAKE MY KIDS TO SCHOOL AND NOTICE THE HUB ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS CRACKED GOING DOWN AND CONNECTED TO A SECOND SPOT THAT WAS ALSO CRACKED IN A PRONG PATTERN. IT WAS NOT CRACKED THE AFTERNOON BEFORE WHEN I PICKED UP MY CHILDREN FROM SCHOOL. *TR
WE PURCHASED A 2010 GMC YUKON AND IT HAS A CRACK IN THE DASH! WE HAD BEEN TOLD BY ALL DEALERS THAT THIS IS COMMON AND WILL BE NOTICED ON ALMOST ANY THAT WE PURCHASE! WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL? ITS DEFINITELY AN ISSUE ON A VERY EXPENSIVE VEHICLE. FRUSTRATING TO PAY 28K FOR A VEHICLE THAT HAS A MAJOR COSMETIC DECLINE! GMC WILL ONLY REPLACE IF YOU SPEND SEVERAL HUNDRED YOURSELF OUT OF POCKET!
OVER A MONTH AGO I NOTICED A HUGE CRACK ABOVE STEERING COLUMN, THE RAISED PART. KNOWING IT WAS NOT A USER ERROR, I WAS PLANNING ON CONTACTING GMC. LAST WEEK I NOTICED ANOTHER CRACK ON LEFT SIDE OF AIR BAG. I DECIDED TO LOOK ONLINE AND SEE IF THIS HAPPENED TO OTHERS. AND YES IT HAS. THERE ARE SEVERAL YEARS AFFECTED, 1993, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF GMC OWNERS WHO HAVE CONTACTED GMC AS I HAVE JUST DONE, WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND I'M VERY VERY UPSET, FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOINTED IN GMC. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET TO GET THIS FIXED AS IT IS GMC'S RESPONSIBILITY! THE SAD THING IS IT WILL TAKE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT FOR THEM TO RESOLVE THIS SITUATION.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN; I OWN A 2010 GMC YUKON. I AS WELL AS OTHERS HAVE A CRACKED DASHBOARD, ONE NEAR THE DEPLOYMENT OF MY AIRBAG AND ONE ON THE DRIVER SIDE BY THE STEERING COLUMN. CONSIDERING GMC'S INTEREST IN THE SAFETY AND QUALITY OF THEIR VEHICLES. IT IS A SHAME THAT THERE IS NOT A RECALL BECAUSE OF SUCH REASON AS DEATH! THERE IS A HUGE CONCERN THAT THE SHARP EDGES OF THE CRACKS CAN ABSOLUTELY CAUSE HE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY AND GETTING YOUR HAND CUT AND INFECTION IS A DEFINITE POSSIBILITY. NOT TO MENTION THE ATTENTION THAT THE CRACKED DASH IS. WHEN SOMEONE IS WALKING BY IT IS VERY NOTICEABLE AND LOOKS BAD FOR GMC. THIS HAS BEEN BROADCAST-ED ON THE MEMPHIS, TN NEWS LATELY AND ONE DASH OUT OF PLENTY HAS BEEN PROPERLY TAKEN CARE OF. IF THIS ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED AND THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS I DO PLAN ON GOING TO THE NEWS AND TAKEN FURTHER ACTION. I WOULD WANT TO THINK THAT GMC WOULD WANT TO HAVE HIGHER STANDARDS AND BE COMPLIANT WITH THIS KNOWN, IGNORED AND ON GOING ISSUE! WAITING UNTIL DAMAGE IS DONE IS NOT THE RIGHT THING TO DO. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER, STABILITRACK, AND ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OVER 10 MPH. THE CONTACT COASTED OVER THE EMERGENCY LANE AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS CONTINUOUSLY ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND AN INDUCTION CLEANING NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COMMON ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,730.
DASHBOARD CRACKS AROUND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND AROUND PASSENGER AIR BAG COVER. THE CRACKS APPEARED AFTER WE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW YEARS AND WERE NOT THE RESULT OF A WRECK OR ABUSE OF ANY KIND.
OUR DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED AND WE FEAR IT WILL INTERFERE WITH THE AIRBAGS ABILITY TO DEPLOY PROPERLY
DASHBOARD CRACK AT AIR BAG. CRACK RUNS FROM AIR BAG TO AIR VENT AND HAS CAUSED DASHBOARD TO SAG AND DROP. CONCERNED DEFECT MAY AFFECT AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT.
TRUCK STARTED MAKING METAL ON METAL SOUND. ENGINE BLOCK WAS CRACKED AND ANTI-FREEZE WAS BLEEDING INTO OIL. MECHANIC AND DEALERSHIP AGREED NEW ENGINE WAS NEEDED. COST - $8,000. TRUCK HAD 103,000 MILES - WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 100,000. WE HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING OIL PROBLEMS SINCE NOV. 2014 WHEN WE WERE STILL UNDER WARRANTY- OIL WAS GUNKY DESPITE BEING CHANGED EACH TIME. DEALERSHIP CALLED GMC AND GMC REFUSED TO BUDGE ON THE WARRANTY. I CALLED GM 5 TIMES - INITIALLY SPOKE TO SOMEONE WHO SAID "THEY WOULD WORK WITH ME" AND KICKED IT UP T O A SENIOR ADVISOR NAMED [XXX] WHO NEVER RETURNED ANY OF MY CALLS DESPITE OTHER GMC EMPLOYEES SENDING HER "URGENT" EMAILS TO CALL ME. WE EVENTUALLY DECIDED NOT TO DO THE REPAIR AND PURCHASED AN AUDI Q7 BECAUSE WE NEEDED A VEHICLE AND COULDN'T WAIT FOR [XXX]. WE HAD PURCHASED 4 GMC VEHICLES (CORVETTE, 2 SUBURBANS, AND THE YUKON). MY 2010 GMC YUKON XL HAS A CRACKED DASH IN 2 PLACES THAT THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT REPLACE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED ON THE DRIVER AND THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE THE AIR BAG WAS LOCATED. THE CONTACT FELT THAT IF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, SHARDS OF HARD PLASTIC WOULD EMIT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
CRACKED DASH. STARTED SMALL AND HAVE ENDED UP WITH A HOLE OVER THE STEERING WHEEL.
DASH CRACKING BY AIRBAG AND THE TAKATA AIR BAG.
A LARGE CRACK APPEARED ON THE DASH HUMP BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL AND GREW LARGER LEAVING A HOLE EXPOSING THE STEERING COLUMN ELECTRICAL WIRES. ANOTHER CRACK DEVELOPED ON THE DASH BESIDE THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I AM CONCERNED WITH BOTH ELECTRONICS BEING EXPOSED AND JAGGED EDGES BESIDE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AREA, THE AIRBAGS MAY FAIL IN A CRASH. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT STEERING COULD EVENTUALLY BECOME IMPACTED. I CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY REFUSED TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW IT IS A COMMON, WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM IN THEIR VEHICLES. SOMEONE NEEDS TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR DEFECTS THAT CAN LEAD TO SAFETY ISSUES. NO IMPACTS OR COLLISIONS HAVE LED TO THIS ISSUE. IT JUST SIMPLY APPEARED. IT WAS STATIONARY WHEN DISCOVERED ONE MORNING. ALTHOUGH I AM NOT CERTAIN THE EXACT DATE, THE PROBLEM WAS FIRST NOTICED IN JANUARY 2015.
MY YUKON HAS APPROXIMATELY 45000 MILES ON IT. IT HAS BEEN GARAGED AT ALL TIMES WHEN NOT BEING DRIVEN. THE DASH HAS CRACKS THAT HAVE FORMED IN THE SKIN PART OF THE SURFACE PLASTIC IN THE AREA NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND THE HUMP PART ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BY A HIGH END BODY SHOP I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY BECAUSE IT WILL DO IT AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS ON GMC MODELS. I DID FURTHER CHECKING WITH A NUMBER OF REPAIR SHOPS AND SERVICES THAT DO VINYL REPAIRS AS WELL. THE PREMIER COMPANY I SPOKE WITH TOLD ME THAT THE REPAIRS MAY NOT LAST A DAY AND THAT EVEN IF I REPLACE THE DASH SKIN COMPLETELY IT WILL LIKELY OCCUR IN THE REPLACEMENT. IN READING ONLINE I DISCOVERED THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM AND THAT GM REFUSES TO DO A RECALL AND IN ONLY SOME INSTANCES WILL COVER HALF THE COST WHICH CAN EXCEED $1200.00. THERE IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE AIRBAG INVOLVEMENT ESPECIALLY WITH THIS VEHICLE HAVING A TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL AND STILL NO REPLACEMENT FOR IT. PHOTS OF EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE ARE POSTED ON LINE BY NUMEROUS INDIVIDUALS AND THE MASSIVE PROBLEM CAN BE EASILY VERIFIED IF YOU DO A SIMPLE RESEARCH ROUTINE. THE PUBLIC NEEDS YOUR HELP TO MAKE THE MANUFACTURER CORRECT THE ISSUE OF CHEAP AND FAULTY MANUFACTURING PROCESSES AND MAKE ITS CUSTOMERS WHOLE.

Cracked Dash - multiple cracks around the airbag module, made worse by airbag module replacement. Scared that if the air bags ever go off, the dash will shatter, throwing shrapnel all over the occupants.
AT APPROX. 60,000 MILES I NOTICED A CRACK IN MY DASH ABOVE MY CONTROL PANEL. I KNOW HAVE 2 MORE NEAR THE AIRBAG. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY IS AIRBAG WAS EVER TO DEPLOY...
I HAVE A 2010 YUKON DENALI WITH NOW, 42000 MILES THIS HAPPENED IN 2014 WITH ABOUT 39000 MILES--- I DONT DRIVE BUT 5000 MILES A YEAR AND MY VEHICLE IS KEPT MOSTLY IN THE GARAGE AND IS VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF. I NOTICED ONE CRACK NEAR FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG- THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER A NEWER, LARGER CRACK BEGAN FORMING NEAR THE DRIVERS SIDE DASHBOARD OVER THE SPEDOMETER. I HAVE THE GMPP PLAN WHICH IS GM'S HIGHEST EXTENDED WARRANTY AND COST ABOUT $2500. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY DASHBOARD ISNT COVERED UNDER MY GMPP WARRANTY BECUASE THE DASH IS CONSIDERED "TRIM" IVE CONTACTED GM NUMEROUS TIMES HOPING TO GET A MORE WORKABLE CSR TO ASSIST IN MONETARY ASSISTANCE WITH GETTING THE DASHBOARD REPLACED--- I RECEIVE LITTLE TO NO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AFTER TWO FAILED ATTEMPTS. THIS ISSUE IS WIDESPREAD WITH THESE GM VEHCILES AND SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY GM -- THEY KNOW ABOUT THEIR SHORTCOMINGS AND WE, AS A CLASS ACTION ARE LIMITED BY OUR OPTIONS AS WE SLOWLY WORK UP TO CLASS ACTION STATUS. THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING NEAR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL ON THE DASH. IT STARTED CRACKING WHEN IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 4 YEARS OLD. EVERYONE THAT I HAVE TALKED TO WITH THE SAME VEHICLE OR SIMILAR YEARS IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. DASHBOARDS SHOULD NOT CRACK IF THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. AND NOW I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE TAKAT RECALL WHICH IS LOCATED WHERE THE DASHBOARD PROBLEM IS.
DASHBOARD HAS VERY LARGE CRACKS ALL OVER SURFACE
I PURCHASED A 2010 YUKON DENALI AND THE DASHBOARD STARTED CRACKING. IT STARTED AS A SMALL CRACK THAT WAS BARELY NOTICED AND IS NOW A LARGE CRACK ACROSS THE DASH BETWEEN THE AIR VENTS. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT SEVERAL OTHER CONSUMERS ARE DEALING WITH THE SAME DEFECT IN YUKON MODELS MANUFACTURED SINCE 2010. THIS IS POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS IF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY AND THE DASH COMES OFF IN SEVERAL SHARP PIECES AS SHOWN IN THE TAKATA RECALL ISSUE. ADDITIONALLY, THE CHROME ACCENT ON MY DOOR HANDLES ARE PEELING OFF AND EVEN CUT THE HAND OF ONE OF MY PASSENGERS.
NOTICED 2 HAIRLINE CRACKS/FRACTURE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF STEERING WHEEL ON THE DASHBOARD. DASH NOW RATTLES. STEERING WHEEL ISSUE WAS RESOLVED UNDER WARRANTY, BUT NOT THESE DASHBOARD CRACKS. GOOGLE SEARCH SEEMS TO HAVE IDENTIFIED SAFTEY RECALLS WITH OTHER MODELS THAT HAVE THESE TYPES OF CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD, BUT NOT WITH THIS VIN. UNSURE WHETHER OR NOT THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUES OR NOT AND DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO FIX THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH IT LOOKS TO CLEARLY BE A DEFECTIVE ISSUE. AS OF TODAY, I AM UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHETHER THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE OR NOT. *TR

DISCOVERED A CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD AT AIRBAG. CAR IS GARAGED AND PARKED IN COVERED PARKING AT WORK. SINCE MAY, 2 ADDITIONAL CRACKS HAVE BECOME APPARENT. *TR
SIGNIFICANT CRACKS IN HARD PLASTIC DASHBOARD HAVE APPEARED INCLUDING AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. SOME CRACKS HAVE CREATED SHARDS OF HARD PLASTIC THAT FALL INTO THE DASH AREA & CAN NOT BE RECOVERED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE SHARDS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO HARM THE AIRBAG AND PREVENT THE NORMAL OPERATION OF THE AIRBAG IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. SEEMS GM SHOULD BE WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE & SHOULD REPLACE THESE DASHES THAT ARE BREAKING DOWN DUE TO FAULTY MANUFACTURING MATERIALS. *TR
CRACKS OCCURRED NEAR MY AIRBAGS ON DASH BOARD
DRIVING 40MPH IN TRAFFIC AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF BY ITSELF, NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES AT THIS POINT, I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE IN TRAFFIC AND PUT MY HAZARDS ON WHILE I TRIED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS ACTING AS IF IT WAS STILL ON AND WOULD NOT RESTART, I STILL HAD POWER TO EVERYTHING AND THE DASHBOARD WAS DISPLAYING SEVERAL ERROR MESSAGES. STABILITRACK, TRACTION CONTROL AND ENGINE REDUCED POWER AND ALSO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE OFF, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON FOR 2 DAYS. THIS SAME EXACT OCCURRENCE HAS OCCURRED AGAIN THIS TIME ON 4/27. IT ALSO HAPPENED WHILE PARKED ON 3/1 WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. I AM HAVING THE VEHICLE SERVICED AT A GMC DEALERSHIP IN CARROLLTON TEXAS TODAY. *TR
WE HAVE OWNED THE CAR SINCE SEPT. 2013. ON MORE THAN 15 OCCASIONS IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE THE NEXT GEAR. WHEN IT MISSES THE NEXT GEAR WHILE DRIVING THE RPMS SHOOT WAY UP, NOSE OF THE CAR DIPS, WE DECELERATE OR COAST, AND OCCUPANTS GET JERKED AND THRUSTED FORWARD TRIGGERING THE SEATBELT TO HARNESS YOU IN PLACE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MOST OF THE OCCASIONS. AT TIMES WHEN I AM PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT IN REVERSE THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE. NORMALLY WHEN VEHICLES ARE PUT INTO GEAR YOU CAN FEEL THE CAR IT, NOT ON THESE INSTANCES. I WOULD SHIFT THE CAR IN GEAR BUT NOT FEEL IT ACTUALLY GET INTO GEAR, PRESS THE PEDAL AND WATCH/FEEL THE RPMS INCREASE, AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOTHING - STAYS IN THE SAME PLACE. ACCELERATING ON A GREEN-LIGHT IS ANOTHER SITUATION WHERE THE VEHICLE HAS MISSED THE NEXT GEAR. SIMILAR TO THE DRIVING DESCRIPTION ABOVE, ONLY THIS IS FROM A DEAD STOP. THE CAR WILL MOVE FORWARD THEN TRY TO SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR AND MISS. AGAIN THE NOSE DIVES, RPM'S SHOOT WAY UP, WE ARE JOLTED INTO OUR SEATBELTS. I GUESS THAT IT'S THE TRANSMISSION BUT I AM NOT A CAR GUY AT ALL, SUPPOSEDLY THE 2 DEALERSHIPS (EVEN LONGER STORY) THAT I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO REBUILT IT (TWICE) UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP AT LEAST 4 TIMES FOR LONG PERIODS, WEEKS EACH TIME, DUE TO WHATEVER THE ISSUE IS. EACH TIME THEY SAY THEY HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM AND THAT THEY ARE SORRY THAT THEY DIDN'T FIX IT THE PREVIOUS TIME. IT HAD BEEN A MONTHS SINCE IT HAPPENED LAST, UNTIL 2 WEEKS AGO WHILE ON MY WAY TO WORK DOING ABOUT 10MPH EXITING A ROUND-A-BOUT. I ONLY HEARD ABOUT THIS SITE TODAY (3/19/15) ON THE NEWS SO I AM REPORTING AS SOON AS I HEARD. I DID GET VIDEO OF SOME OF THE PROBLEMS AND SHOWED IT THE DEALERS (UNIMPRESSED), ONLY PROBLEM IS THEY COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO MISS GEARS, JERK, JOLT, OR NOSE DIVE WHILE IN THEIR POSSESSION TO EXPERIENCE IT HAPPEN. *TR
THE DASH IS CRACKED IN NUMEROUS PLACES. INCLUDING THE AREA DIRECTLY AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. IF THE AIRBAG WAS TO DEPLOY, THE PIECES OF THE DASH WOULD BECOME SHRAPNEL, AND INPALE ANYBODY IN ITS PATH! THE CRACKING IS CAUSED BY INADEQUATE BRACING UNDER THE DASH! THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT BY GMC FOR AT LEAST 8 MODEL YEARS.
TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 75 MPH. ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE STABILITRAK SYSTEM LIGHT WENT ON FOLLOWED BY THE TRUCK SHUDDERING AND SHAKING FAIRLY VIOLENTLY FOLLOWED BY THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT GOING ON AND A VERY QUICK REDUCTION IN SPEED TO APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH. WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND TRIED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED TO A PERFECTLY GOOD RUNNING CAR. ATTEMPTED TO RESET THE STABILITRAK SYSTEM USING THE GM MANUAL PAGE 5-6. NO LUCK. LIMPED BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY WITH A SHAKING TRUCK WITH HAZARDS ON AND MADE IT TO AN EXIT . WENT TO GAS STATION, TURNED OFF CAR AGAIN AND FILLED WITH GAS. CAR WAS OFF FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES WHILE I ASK FOR A GM DEALERSHIP IN TOWN. TURNED CAR ON AND THE SHAKING HAD STOPPED AND THE POWER APPEARED TO BE NORMAL. WENT TO GM. THEY HOOKED UP TO DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE . THE CODE THAT CAME UP WAS FOR A THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT. WAS COVERED UNDER A SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT, (12-6-2013) SENT OUT TO DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS. GM KNOWS THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM YET NO ONE INFORMED THE DRIVERS OF THESE VEHICLES. MY YUKON DENALI XL WAS FIXED . I AM REPORTING THIS BECAUSE I WAS PUT IN A VERY DANGEROUS POSITION ON THE HIGHWAY AND HIGH SPEEDS. THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT WITHOUT SOME GOOD DRIVING ON MY PART AND THAT OF THE 18 WHEELERS AROUND ME I COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND INJURY. ONCE AGAIN GM KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM AS STATED IN THE #11273B SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT- THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT-DECEMBER 16,2013. I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST THAT GM LET CAR OWNERS KNOW SO THEY CAN GET THE PART REPLACED BEFORE KILLING OR INJURING THEMSELVES. I WOULD NOT LIKE MY CHILDREN OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER HAVE THIS HAPPEN TO THEM AT ANY SPEED. *TR
DASH BOARD CRACKING ....... I WON A DETAILING BUSINESS AND 8 OUT 10 DASH BOARDS ARE CRACKED AFTER A COUPLE YEARS IN AGE. MOST THE VEHICLE INCLUDING MINE HAD VERY LITTLE TIME IN THE SUN!
THE DASH BOARD IS CRACKED. THIS STARTED OFF AS A SMALL CRACK ON THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE AIR BAG ON THE DASH, IT HAS SPREAD ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE DASH TO THE AREA OVER MY INSTRUMENT PANEL AND HAS NOW SUNK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DASH AS IF THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SUPPORTS UNDER THE MIDDLE OF THE DASH TO HOLD IT UP. I SEE THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS, BUT I AM WORRIED THAT IF SOMETHING WERE TO HAPPEN AND THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED THAT PIECES OF THE DASH WOULD GO EVERYWHERE AND CUT US UP EVEN WORSE THAN AN ACCIDENT. I ALSO SEE THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS MATTER WITH NO AVAIL. I WISH THAT SOMEONE COULD SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR A NEW DASH JUST TO HAVE IT DO THE EXACT SAME THING AGAIN. ALSO, THE CHROME COVERING ON THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE STICKING UP AND FLAKING OFF AND HAVE CUT MY HUSBANDS, CHILDREN AND MY HANDS SEVERAL TIMES. I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS WEBSITE DUE TO LOOKING TO SEE IF THERE WAS A POSSIBLE RECALL OR I SURE WOULD'VE REPORTED THIS SOONER. I WAS GETTING READY TO PULL OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND BRING MY CHILD TO PRESCHOOL WHEN I NOTICED THERE WASN'T POWER WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS. REDUCED ENGINE POWER IS WHAT I READ ON MY DASHBOARD!!!! THE DOOR HANDLES ARE PEELING APART AND HAS CUT NUMEROUS PEOPLE. THIS ISSUE WAS PRESENTED PREVIOUSLY IN 2007 AND A RECALL WAS ISSUED. THE DEALER STATED THERE IS NO RECALL FOR 2010 AND WAS NOT WILLING TO REPAIR THE DANGEROUS DOOR HANDLES. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 GMC YUKON DENALI. THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT ALL FOUR RIMS WERE PEELING. AS A RESULT, THE RIMS DETACHED FROM THE WHEELS AND CAUSED AIR TO BE RELEASED. THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE AIR IN THE TIRES EVERYDAY. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" ALERT POPPED UP AND THE ENGINE HAD NO POWER. THE CAR STARTED TO JUMP. ALONG WITH THE "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" ALERT THERE WAS ALSO A "STABILITRAK INDICATOR LIGHT" THAT ALSO CAME ON. WE PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND RESTARTED IT. ON TUESDAY 10/12 THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. THANKFULLY, WE WERE ON OUR STREET AND GOT IT BACK TO THE DRIVEWAY WITHOUT ANY INCIDENTS. *TR
I HAVE A 2010' GMC YUKON SLT1 4WD. THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AT ALL TIMES. PREVIOUS OWNER WAS TOLD BY GM IT WAS CAUSED BY IPHONES & COMPUTERS & NOT TO WORRY THE AIR BAGS WILL STILL DEPLOY. I JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE (CLEAN CAR FAX) AIR BAG LIGHT STILL ON. MY DEALERSHIP SAID THE SAME THING BUT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP SAID HECK NO IF THAT LIGHT IS ON THEY WILL NOT WORK.
