MY DASH BOARD CRACKED IN TWO PLACES AND IT HAPPEN AROUND A YEAR AGO BUT JUST LEARNED THAT IT MIGHT BE A MANUFACTURED DEFECT. IT STARTED FROM ONE DAY TO ANOTHER
MY DASH STARTED CRACKING I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM ON GMC VEHICLES
CRACK IN DASH OVER PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC YUKON. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, A SERVICE AIR BAG MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS WAITING TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS). THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,214.
TAKATA RECALL THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON WHEN I TURN ON THE CAR AND WILL NOT TURN OFF. THE DASHBOARD WHERE THE AIRBAG IS LOCATED IS CRACKED. IF THE AIRBAG RELEASES, THE DASHBOARD COULD FLY UP AND SLICE THE PASSENGER OR EVEN THE DRIVER. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A COLLISION, BUT THIS MUST BE ADDRESSED SOON! PLEASE HELP.
I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE ANTENNA IN MY TRUCK. THE RADIO IS CONSTANTLY GOING IN AND OUT. MY ONSTAR HAS STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. MY BLUETOOTH DROPS CALLS WITHIN A FEW MIN OF TAKING THE CALL IF I CAN EVEN GET IT TO ANSWER THE CALL. COSMETICALLY THE ISSUES I AM HAVING IS THE DASH HAS A HUGE CRACK RIGHT BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL IT GOES ALL THE WAY ACROSS TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. IF I WAS TO HAVE A FRONT END CRASH SHARDS OF PLASTIC WOULD GO FLYING THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO 3/11/17 AND HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES SINCE PURCHASED. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ARE WELCOMED. THANK YOU.
DASHBOARD CRACKING AROUND AIRBAG AND WE ALSO HAVE A RECALL REGARDING THE AIRBAG BUT NO REMEDY
DASH BOARD CRACKING ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND SPREADING ACROSS TO AIRBAG. CAME OUT ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND FOUND A CRACK IN THE DASH. IT HAS NOW SPREAD ACROSS THE DASH TOWARD THE AIRBAG.
MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THIS HAPPENED RECENTLY, ALTHOUGH THERE IS EVIDENCE OF A REPAIR OF ANOTHER CRACK BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG BEFORE I BOUGHT IT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. AMERICAN MOTORS OF JACKSON (2282 N HIGHLAND AVE, JACKSON, TN 38305, (731) 238-4200) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
LEFT REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER CONNECTION CAME UNATTACHED FROM WINDOW.
THE DASHBOARD SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED AND IS UNSAFE. THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES HAVE THIS DEFECT AND GMC IS IGNORING THE PROBLEM. THERE IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WHERE THERE IS NOT ENOUGH BRACKETS FOR THE LENGTH OF THE DASHBOARD THAT CREATES THE CRACKING. EVEN IF YOU SPEND $1200 TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY DESIGN IT WILL CRACK AGAIN. A RECALL MUST BE INITIATED. NEWER MODELS HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. GM OFFERS NO HELP TO CONSUMERS ON THIS ISSUE.
THERE IS A DEEP CRACK IN MY DASHBOARD OVER THE STEERING WHEEL AND A SLIGHT CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD NEAR THE AIRBAG BY THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE CRACK KEEPS SPREADING. MY DASHBOARD VIBRATES AND SHAKES WHEN I DRIVE.
I AM HAVING MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE GEAR WHEN I PLACE IT ON PARK THEN WHEN I TRY TO MOVE IT TO DRIVE OR REVERSE IT IS STUCK AND WONT MOVE FROM PARK.. ALSO DASH CRACK NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED. AT COST OF GMC, PLEASE HELP ME
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING THROUGH BOSTON IN THE FAST LANE, GOING ABOUT 70MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE ENGINE REDUCED POWER LIGHT AND MY VEHICLE TOTALLY LOST POWER TO THE GAS PEDAL. I WAS ABLE TO GET INTO THE SLOW LANE BUT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO GO FASTER THAN 35MPH AND THERE WAS HARDLY POWER TO MY GAS PEDAL. LUCKILY, I MADE IT TO AN OFF RAMP, AS I STARTED TO COME TO A STOP, THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING VERY ROUGH AND IT FELT LIKE IT WAS SHAKING THE VEHICLE BACK AND FORTH. I BARELY MADE IT INTO A EMPTY PARKING LOT AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. I MANAGED TO MAKE IT TO MY MECHANIC, WHO GOT A THROTTLE SENSOR CODE FROM THE ENGINE. HE TOLD ME ABOUT A SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT #12273B FROM GMC, REGARDING THIS EXACT ISSUE AND TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO GMC. GMC TOLD ME, MY VEHICLE ISN'T LISTED FOR THIS ADJUSTMENT, EVEN THOUGH, IT SAYS IT SHOULD COVER 2008-20111 GMC YUKONS. APPARENTLY, GMC SAID MY VIN ISN'T LISTED AS HAVING THE FAULTY PART. I ALMOST DIED THIS MORNING IN THE FAST LANE IN BOSTON WITH THE EXACT PROBLEM GMC DESCRIBES IN THE 12273B. GMC SAID I'M NOT COVERED AND HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. ABSURD. *TR
ONE WEEK AFTER PURCHASING, NOTICED CRACK IN DASH IN UPPER LEFT HAND CORNER OF AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING IN MY GARAGE. VERY CONCERNED IF THIS WILL AFFECT THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE AIRBAG OR POSSIBLY CAUSE AN INJURY IN THE EVENT OF DEPLOYMENT.
CRACKED DASH OF. CENTER AND BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL. DECEMBER I GOT IN THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED A BLACK LINE ON THE DASH. CLOSER OBSERVATION, I FOUND A CRACK. 1000 DOLLARS TO REPAIR. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT AIR BAG RELEASE AND THE INTEGRITY OF THE DASH.
TAKATA RECALL: I AM WANTING TO KNOW WHEN THE RECALL WILL HAVE A REMEDY? I HAD AN ACCIDENT IN DEC 2016 AND THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. I HAD A PRETTY SEVERE WRECK RUNNING INTO 3 VEHICLES WITH SUBSTANTIAL FRONT END DAMAGE INCLUDING BROKEN TIRE ROD. BELOW IS JUST A PICTURE OF THE DAMAGE. BODY SHOP WAS IN DISBELIEF THAT THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY??
CRACK IN DASHBOARD RUNNING FROM DRIVERS SIDE ALL THE WAY OVER TO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. I FEEL LIKE THIS WOULD BE A DANGER IF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WERE TO DEPLOY. MY TAKATA RECALL COMES BACK AS "INCOMPLETE - WORKING ON A SOLUTION". THIS HAS BEEN GOING IN FOR YEARS. IS MY CAR SAFE?

THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE REMEDY WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE TO REMEDY THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO TIME LINE FOR THE REMEDY PARTS TO BE MADE AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. MIDDLE OF DASHBOARD CRACKED AND COMING A PART. PIECES BEGINNING TO FALL OFF. FEAR THAT IF AIR BAGS WERE TO DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT - THE PIECES OF PLASTIC WOULD BECOME EMBEDDED IN THE BODY OF THOSE IN THE CAR.
I HAVE A 2011 YUKON XL, DASH CRACKED BELOW THE AIRBAG AND WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY IN 2012. ON NOVEMBER 13, 2016 THE NEW DASH CRACKED ABOVE THE AIRBAG. I AM CURRENTLY FIGHTING WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND GMC CORPORATE. I'M BEING TOLD THAT AS A SECOND OWNER GMC WILL NOT REPLACE THE DASH, REGARDLESS THAT I'VE PUT 55,000 OF THE 66,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND HAVE OWNED 90% OF ITS TIME ON THE ROAD. FROM EVERYTHING I'VE READ, THE DASH WILL BECOME A PROJECTILE IF THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED AND QUITE POSSIBLY SERIOUSLY INJURE ANY VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. THIS IS A VERY COMMON, DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT GMC NEEDS TO CORRECT VIA RECALL.
THE PLASTIC DASHBOARD IS CRACKED ON TOP OF GAUGE CLUSTER. I AM CONCERNED THE DASH MAY SHATTER IN A CRASH IF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY DUE TO THE CRACK CAUSING THE ENTIRE DASH TO BE COMPROMISED.. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD A AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT HAPPEN. I HAVE NOTICED THE DASH HAS BEEN CRACKED FOR ABOUT A YEAR BUT DIDNT FIND OUT UNTIL TODAY THAT IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH OTHER GM OWNERS.
SEVERELY CRACKED DASHBOARD IN MULTIPLE PLACES. EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY SHOULD THE AIRBAG INFLATE, OR DUE TO THE CRACKING IF IT WOULD EVEN OPERATE PROPERLY. THE CRACK GETS WORSE EVERY DAY DUE TO THE CONTINUOUS VIBRATING OF THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD WHILE DRIVING. PLEASE REMEDY THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SEVERELY INJURED OR WORSE. THIS IS A FAMILY VEHICLE, MOSTLY DRIVEN BY FAMILIES WITH 3 OR MORE CHILDREN, PLEASE CONSIDER THIS STRONGLY AND FIX THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY.
2011 GMC YUKON. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REPLACEMENT PARTS NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL, DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO REPAIR MULTIPLE CRACKS IN DASHBOARD. *SMD
THE DASH STARTED TO CRACK - I CHECKED WITH GM (SERVICE) - AND THEY SAID THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM - I SPOKE TO GM AND THEY WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE (EVEN THOUGH THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT KNOW THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE). GM WILL NOT SUPPORT ME ON THIS PROBLEM
THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2011 YUKON IS CRACKING IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS, INCLUDING AROUND THE AIRBAG AREAS, CREATING A HAZARD IF THE AIRBAGS WERE TO EMPLOY.
1) DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE CRACK HAS PROGRESSED DIRECTLY OVER THE ARCHED AREA OF THE DASHBOARD OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CRACK HAS PROGRESSED TO THE POINT THAT THE DASHBOARD IS FLAPPING WHERE THE CRACK IS LOCATED. 2) TWO OF MY TIRES ARE LOSING AIR PRESSURE DUE TO CORROSION PROBLEMS WITH THE CHROME RIMS/WHEELS. ONE OF THE RIMS HAS A 2 INCH CRACK IN THE CHROME FINISH.
THE DASH ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS SEVERELY CRACKED AND WITHOUT ANY REASON. THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER CRACK IN THE CENTER AREA. IF AIR BAG DEPLOYED NOT SURE WHAT COULD HAPPEN. CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN KEPT OUT OF EXTREME WEATHER IN A GARAGE. I HAVE OWNED OTHER GMC YUKONS AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE.
I HAVE TWO CRACKS ON MY DASH ONE AT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IT IS ABOUT ONE INCH LONG.THE OTHER CRACKS IS MUCH LONGER.IF IS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NEAR THE AREA THAT IS HUMPED UP AT THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR THE CRACKS WERE VERY SMALL THE ONE NEAR THE STEERING WHEEL JUST KEEPS GETTING BIGGER!
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN LARGE CRACK FIRST APPEARED IN THE DASHBOARD. THE CRACK ORIGINATED FROM THE FRONT WINDSHIELD A N RUNS TOWARD THE DRIVER SEAT. THE CRACK MAKES A Y SHAPE AS IT APPROACHES THE DRIVERS SEAT. THE DASH MAKES A VIBRATING/RATTLING NOISE FROM THE CRACKED AREA AND THE CRACK CONTINUES TO SLOWLY SPREAD.
DASH IS CRACKING AND CONNECTS TO AIRBAG. CONCERNED THAT IT WILL EFFECT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. SAFETY ISSUE.
DASHBOARD CRACKING THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2011 GMC YUKON XL DENALI HAS CRACKED NEXT TO THE AIRBAG WHICH WOULD POSE A GREAT DEAL OF HARM SHOULD THE VEHICLE BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND SPLINTER OR CAUSE A FAULT WITH THE AIRBAG. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 53,355 MILES ON IT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AS I AM RESEARCHING AND HAVE FOUND HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND OCCURRENCES.
I HAVE A 2011 YUKON DENALI AND THE DASH HAS CRACKED AND I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE AIR BAGS. I AM NOT SURE WHY OR HOW THIS HAPPENED, BUT IT HAS HAPPENED TO OVER 6000 VEHICLES (PLEASE SEE FACEBOOK PAGE - 07-13 GM CRACKED DASH SAFETY HAZARD FOR ALL TRUCKS) AND GMC IS NOT STANDING BEHIND THIS PROBLEM.
CRACKED DASHBOARD. THE DASHBOARD CRACKED IN TWO PLACES. THE CAR WAS UNOCCUPIED AND PARKED.
UPPER DASH HAS SPLIT. MAKING THIS A SAFETY ISSUE IF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY. ALSO, THE HEATED SEATS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DO NOT WORK.
THE DASHBOARD IN FROM OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAS DEVELOPED A LARGE CRACK IN IT. THE CRACK STARTS AT THE SEAM AND GOES ALMOST TO THE FRONT OF THE DASHBOARD. IT IS ABOUT 9 - 10 INCHES LONG. THE DASHBOARD HAS ALSO BECOME SEPARATED WHERE THE FRONT AND BACK PART COME TOGETHER IN THE MIDDLE. I HAVE READ WHERE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND COULD BE CONSIDERED A HAZARD IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYING CAUSING THE DASHBOARD TO BREAK APART AND SEND SHARP PIECES OF THE DASH FLYING THROUGH THE INTERIOR. I HAVE READ WHERE THESE CRACKS ARE VERY COMMON ON 2007 - 2013 GM TRUCKS AND SUVS. IT IS CONSIDERED TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFLECT AS IT HAS HAPPENED TO THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES. I WAS QUOTED 1,600.00 TO REPLACE THIS BY A DEALERSHIP. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A VEHICLE THAT I PAID IN EXCESS OF 60K FOR. YOU SHOULD FORCE GM TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES FOR THIS PROBLEM. A PICTURE OF MY DASH IS ATTACHED. I AM NOT EXACTLY SURE OF WHEN IT HAPPENED AS YOU CAN'T SEE IT WHEN SITTING IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. I DID FIRST NOTICE IT LATE THIS SUMMER OF 2016. THERE ARE 3 CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2011 GMC YUKON. ONE CRACK IS NEAR THE LEFT FRONT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. TWO CRACKS ARE LOCATED NEAR THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE MATERIALS AND THE GM SHOULD REPLACE THE DASHBOARD FREE OF CHARGE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
FOUND 2 CRACKS IN MY DASHBOARD...THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. ONE CRACK ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND ONE CRACK NEAR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT ONE DEEP CRACK BY THE AIRBAG. IS THIS SAFE? WITH THE CONCERN OVER THE TAKATA AIR BAG ISSUES AND NO POSSIBLE WAY TO REMEDY THAT AT THIS TIME I AM WORRIED THAT THIS PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD TO MY FAMILY. CALLED GM AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO UNLESS I WANT TO PURCHASE A NEW DASHBOARD??? HOW CAN THERE BE SO MANY COMPLAINTS WITH NO ACTION FROM GM?
TAKATA RECALL WE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH BECK AND MASTEN FOR TODAY TO HAVE THIS ADDRESSED. I WAS CONTACTED THIS MORNING AND TOLD THAT NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND MY APPOINTMENT WAS CANCELLED. WE CONTACTED GM AND SPOKE WITH MARY, THEN SHANE AND FINALLY BRENDA AND WE WERE TOLD THAT UNTIL THERE WAS AN "EVENT" (WHICH I INTERPRETED AS A DEATH) THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT GMC WOULD DO TO REMEDY THE ISSUE. BRENDA REFUSED TO ESCALATE ANY FURTHER IN GM AFTER BEING ASKED 7 TIMES FOR HER BOSS'S INFORMATION.
MY 2011 GMC YUKON ALONG WITH COUNTLESS OTHER GM VEHICLES HAS A CRACKED DASHBOARD ABOVE THE DRIVER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS CAN POSE A SERIOUS DANGER IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS AND SHATTERS THE DASHBOARD WHICH IS MADE OF HARD PLASTIC CAUSING SHARDS OF PLASTIC BEING PROJECTED INTO THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR MANY 2007 - 2013 GM VEHICLES.
DASH CRACKED IN 2 PLACES, ONE ABOVE THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE OTHER BY THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. NOW THAT THE CRACKS ARE THERE THE CENTER SPEAKER BOUNCES AND RATTLES WHILE DRIVING. THIS SHOWS THAT THE PLASTIC IS OBVIOUSLY BRITTLE SO IN THE EVENT OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, HOW DO THEY KNOW PIECES OF THE DASH WON'T GO FLYING THROUGH THE CABIN AND INTO OUR FACES AND OUR CHILDREN'S FACES? AIR BAGS DEPLOY AT AROUND 200 MPH! I DON'T SEE HOW THEY CONCLUDE THESE CRACKS ARE NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. REDESIGN USING BETTER QUALITY MATERIALS AND GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED.
THE DASHBOARD STARTED WITH A SMALL CRACK A MONTH AGO AND HAS GROWN INTO LARGE CRACK THAT CROSSES THE ENTIRE DASH. I FEEL THIS POSES A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE IF A ACCIDENT OCCURS AND THE AIR BAG INFLATES, THIS CRACK COULD CAUSE THE PIECES OF PLASTIC DASHBOARD TO COME APART AND EITHER DAMAGE AIRBAG BEFORE INFLATION OR INJURE PASSAGER/DRIVER WITH FLYING PLASTIC DEBRIS. IT IS ALSO VERY UNSIGHTLY. I SHOULDN'T HAVE PAID OVER $50K FOR A VEHICLE AND HAVE ISSUES LIKE THIS OCCUR.
