BRAKE LIGHT GOES IN AND OUT AND DOESN'T WORK ALL THE TIME. ACCORDING TO WHAT I'M READING IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. THERE IS NO FIX EXCEPT BUYING A BRAND NEW ONE AND THAT DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT. SEEMS LIKE A POOR DESIGN AND NOT TO MENTION I CAN GET A TICKET FOR THIS. AND MOST IMPORTANT...I HAVE A FAMILY WITH TWO SMALL KIDS AND THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD IF MY BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK!
CAR WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF OUR HOUSE AND COMBUSTED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHILE WE WERE SLEEPING. CAR WAS EXPLODING AND ENGULFED IN FLAMES...COMPLETELY DESTROYED VIA FIRE AND THE WORST DAMAGE WAS IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS UNKNOWN ALTHOUGH BASED ON RESEARCH SOUNDS LIKE NHTSA CAMPAIGN #14V007000 OR 14V152000. FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND POLICE WERE ON THE SCENE.
DRIVER SIDE REAR BRAKE LIGHT WORKING INTERMITTENTLY, APPROX. 10% OF THE TIME. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND SAID IT IS KNOWN ISSUE WITH MOST DENALI BRAKE LIGHTS. WAS QUOTED TO REPLACE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY $900. EACH SIDE FOR THIS KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND KNOWN BY GMC WITH NO RECALLS AVAILABLE.
BRAKE LIGHTS WILL INTERMITTENTLY STOP WORKING. NO CONSISTENCY TO WHEN THEY STOP WORKING OR WHEN THEY START AGAIN. MAJOR SAFTEY HAZARD. GMC KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT ARE CALLING IT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE, AND NOT FIXING VEHICLES OUTSIDE THEIR DESIGNATED TIME/MILEAGE BECAUSE THEY SAY IT IS NOT A SAFETY HAZARD...' IT IS!!!
2015 GMC YUKON. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO YUKON TAIL LIGHTS SAFETY RECALL. *LD *JS
THE PASSENGER TAIL LIGHT WAS ONLY WORKING INTERMITTENTLY SO I HAD THE WHOLE THING REPLACED FOR $750. NOW MY DRIVER SIDE ONE IS ONLY WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. ALSO MY PASSENGER HEADLIGHT STARTED ACCUMULATING MOISTURE AND NOW THE WHOLE LED STRIP DOESN'T WORK. THERE HAS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE COMPANY MAKING THEM!
REAR PASSENGER TAIL LIGHT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A RIDICULOUS COST. EXTREMELY POOR ENGINEERING DESIGN. THAT IS IF IT WASN'T INTENTIONALLY DESIGNED TO FAIL. ON THE LOW END $5-600 TO REPLACE A TAIL LIGHT??? WHAT A JOKE. SAD THING IS I'M LUCKY, MANY MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD MORE THAN ONE LIGHT ASSEMBLY GO OUT. I'VE BOUGHT GM FOR MY LAST 3 VEHICLES (ENVOY, TAHOE, YUKON) THIS WILL LIKELY BE THE LAST TIME I EVER BUY GM.
BRAKE LIGHTS WORK SPORADICALLY, UNTIL THE PASSENGER REAR FINALLY STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, THAT THEY REPLACE SEVERAL A WEEK, AND MY WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER IT. GOT A ESTIMATE OF OVER $1600 TO REPAIR IT. WAS PULLED OVER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS EACH TIME WAS TOLD IT WAS EITHER THE LEFT OR RIGHT NOT WORKING. THEN MIRACULOUSLY BOTH WOULD BE WORKING. IF THIS IS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM LIKE THE DEALERSHIP STATED, THEN WHY HASN'T GM RECALLED OR DISCONTINUED USING THEM? THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND NOT AS SIMPLE AS REPLACING A BULB. WAY TO COSTLY TO JUST BRING IN FOR REPAIRS!
TAIL LAMPS, TAIL LAMPS TAIL LAMPS! NON SERVICEABLE LED ILLUMINATION BULB CIRCUIT IS FAULTY LEADING TO INTERMITTENT OPERATION. HAVING PART TIME BRAKE LIGHT IS AGAINST THE LAW AND MORE IMPORTANT TO ME, LEAVES MY FAMILY IN AN UNSAFE SITUATION. WEB SEARCH LEADS TO MANY MOTORIST HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS I. AS A PAYING TAXPAYER WE SHOULD NOT BE SOLD FAULTY GOODS THAT MAY HAVE DIRE CONSEQUENCES.
A FEW DAYS AGO I GOT OUT OF MY TRUCK TO RETRIEVE A PACKAGE LEFT AT MY GARAGE DOOR. I PUT MY VEHICLE IN PARK WALKED AROUND MY CAR DOOR WALKED BY THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK TO RETRIEVE THE PACKAGE AND ALL THE SUDDEN I WAS KNOCKED DOWN. I DID NOT REALIZE WHAT HAPPENED UNTIL I LOOKED UP AND SAW MY TRUCK DRIVING TOWARDS ME. I SCREAM FOR HELP AS I CRAWLED BACKWARDS TO SAFETY. A FEW MINUTES LATER I REALIZE THE TRUCK WAS NO LONGER MOVING AND BY THE GRACE OF GOD MY WHEELS WERE TURNED SLIGHTLY AND IT HAD STOPPED BECAUSE IT HIT THE SIDE OF MY HOUSE. IT TOOK A COUPLE OF DAYS FOR THE SHOCK TO WEAR OFF OF WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ME OR MY KIDS IF THEY WERE PLAYING OUTSIDE. MY HUSBAND AND I SPOKE TO A COUPLE OF PEOPLE INCLUDING A CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND WE FOUND OUT THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE ON THE 2015 YUKONS. I AM ATTACHING PICTURES OF WHAT WE FOUND FROM GMC ALONG WITH MY TRUCK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE BECAME UNSTABLE WHILE DRIVING OVER BUMPS IN THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STATEN ISLAND GMC LOCATED AT 1855 HYLAN BLVD, STATEN ISLAND, NY 10305 WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SET OF SHOCK ABSORBERS WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. Consumer stated besides having a few recalls that were resolved consumer have had a lifter & pushrod problem in 2018 that was under warranty! The vehicle was at the dealership for 22 days! Since then consumer had to replace 4 shock absorbers at a cost of over 3 thousand dollars, consumer had transmission problems, tail light problems & air conditioning problems! Consumer had same problem with the lifters & push rods at 64 thousand miles dealership can’t take the vehicle till March 1st.

AS THE FAILURE PERSISTED, THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING DRIVE CAREFULLY" WARNING MESSAGE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND SHIFT INTO ANOTHER GEAR IN ORDER FOR THE STEERING WHEEL TO UNLOCK AND RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V586000 (STEERING). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY A MECHANIC TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I HAVE A 2015 YUKON DENALI WITH ABOUT 63K MILES. MY TAIL LIGHTS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE DRIVER SIGN WORKS RANDOMLY. AT TIME IT WORKS IN THE DAY AND NIGHT OTHERS IT APPEARS TO ONLY WORK IN NIGHT TIME OR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT DIRECTLY IN THE SUN DURING THE DAY. YESTERDAY EVENING I NOTICE THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS OUT INSTEAD OF THE DRIVER SIDE. I HAVE WENT TO GMC DEALERSHIP AND THEY ALL SAY THAT THE PART NEEDS TO BE PLACE AND WILL COST AROUND $800 FOR ONE LIGHT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN ALL GM MADE VEHICLES AND SEEMS TO BE MORE NOTICEABLE IN GMC YUKONS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY SEVERAL PEOPLE MY LIGHT WAS OUT THEN IT POPS BACK ON AND EVEN THE POLICE HAS STOP ME FOR MY TAIL LIGHT BEFORE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE WARM TO ME AND MY FAMILY (TWO SMALL TODDLER) WHICH I TRANSPORT TO AND FROM SCHOOL OR SOMEONE ELSE FAMILY DUE TO ALOT OF YOUR CUSTOMERS MAINLY PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE TO TRANSPORT THEIR FAMILIES FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER. IT TROUBLES ME THAT WE PAY $60K - $70K FOR THESE VEHICLES AND THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE LIGHT WITH THE SAME FAULTY PART. THIS ISSUES HAPPENS WHEN PARK AND DRIVING. I LIVE IN BATON ROUGE, LA AND I USE THE INTERSTATE TO GET TO AND FROM WORK EACH AND EVERY DAY. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE GMC PROVIDE A SOLUTION THAT FIXES THIS ISSUE AND NOT PROFIT OFF OF A BAD PART BUT FORCING IT'S CUSTOMERS TO CONSTANTLY HAVE TO REPLACE BAD TAIL LIGHTS. I LOVE MY GMC YUKON AND WILL CONTINUE TO PURCHASE ONE AS LONG AS I FEEL I'M GETTING A QUALITY VEHICLE FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I'M PAYING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BUICK GMC OF KIRKLAND (12335 120TH AVE NE, KIRKLAND, WA 98034, (877) 505-6211) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL SPEED SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V761000 (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, SERVICE BRAKES). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000. *DT*JB
2015 DENALI WITH 30K MILES (STILL UNDER MANUFACT WARRANTY) BRAKE LIGHTS QUIT WORKING. DEALERSHIP STATED TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLIES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
STOP LIGHT DONT WORK
THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORK AND THEN STOP WORKING. IT IS NOT THE BULB NOR THE FUSE. I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE THE LIGHT ASSEMBLIES WHICH IS VERY COSTLY. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW WEEKS. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND IT SEEMS THERE ARE A LOT OF ISSUES WITH THE BRAKE LIGHTS FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE. MANY PEOPLE STATE THEY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE.
THE PROBLEM I BEEN HAVING IS WITH THE STEERING. WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY OR JUST KINDA FAST THE STEERING ASSIST WILL LOCK UP AND ALL OF THE DASHBOARD AND AC WILL SHUT OFF AND THAN RESTARTS. NOT ALL THE TIME BUT ABOUT 6 TIMES THE ENGINE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT IT PUTS YOU IN THIS CAN HAPPEN WHEN STATIONARY WHEN YOU TRYING TO PULL OUT ON THE HIGHWAY OR AT SLOT SPEED WHEN TRYING TO TURN THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME
BRAKE LIGHT IS WILL NOT WORKING ON PASSENGER SIDE
WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED FULLY, THE GAS PEDAL STICKS THE CAR CONTINUES ACCELERATING. THE PROBLEM BEGAN WITH INITIAL COMPLETE DEPRESSION OF GAS PEDAL TO CAUSE SOME ACCELERATION AND DEPRESSING BRAKE ALLOWED VEHICLE TO RETURN TO NORMAL DRIVING. THE PROBLEM HAS WORSENED OVER TIME TO THE POINT WHERE BOTH FEET DEPRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT AFFECT ACCELERATION AND CAUSED SMOKE TO EMIT FROM BOTH FRONT BRAKE PADS, AND THE PASSENGER FRONT BRAKE PAD FLAMED UP FROM THE HEAT. THE CAR WAS DRIVEN INTO A PARKING LOT WITH THE BRAKE DEPRESSED THE ENTIRE TIME, AND TURNED OFF. SO FAR, THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS FULLY DEPRESSED. THE DEALER TOLD ME THE MAT CAUSED THIS EVEN THOUGH THE MAT IS CUT AROUND THE GAS PEDAL WITH PLENTY OF ROOM TO NOT OBSTRUCT PEDAL. THE MAT ALSO DOES NOT SLIDE OR MOVE ABOUT THE AREA. THE GMC DEALER TOLD ME THEY TOOK THE MAT OUT AND DID NOT NOTICE ANY AUTO ACCELERATION, AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE UNABLE TO DEPRESS THE GAS PEDAL FULL TO ATTEMPT TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM, TO NOT COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF THE OTHER CARS NEARBY.
TAILLIGHT IS OUT ON MY VEHICLE. THE LIGHTS ARE LED AND THE CAR IS ONLY FOUR YEARS OLD. REPLACEMENT IS $500-750 FOR A TAILLIGHT!
MY 2015 YUKON DENALI HAD A COMPLETE SUSPENSION FAILURE ON ALL FOUR TIRES AT 67,535 MILES. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS WAY TOO SOON TO BE HAVING SUSPENSION PROBLEMS ON THIS, BUT WHEN DIAGNOSED, THAT WAS THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD BY MY AUTO REPAIR SHOP THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN THAT CONDITION, AS THE STEERING COULD FAIL TO WORK CORRECTLY WHEN GOING THROUGH TIGHT TURNS AND BRAKING. THEY SAID THAT IT COULD POSSIBLY SKID DUE TO NOT HAVING ANY SHOCKS OR STRUTS FUNCTIONING. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS LIFTED, THE WHEELS DID NOT LOWER FROM THE CARRIAGE AT ALL DUE TO COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM. WE REPLACED THE REAR SHOCKS AND FRONT STRUTS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR ALL AT ONCE, BUT RATHER OVER A PERIOD OF A COUPLE WEEKS WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO RIDE ROUGHER ON EACH TIRE. ALL FOUR WENT OUT WITHIN A SPAN OF TWO WEEKS TIME.
BOTH DRIVE SIDE AND PASSENGER TAIL BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORKING. ISSUE CAUSED BY THE LEDS BEING A 1 LARGE CHEAP CIRCUIT INSIDE THE UNIT. THE CIRCUIT CRACKS CAUSING THE LIGHTS NOT TO WORK.
ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO THE VEHICLE HAD AN EXCELLENT RIDE, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT HAD NO SUSPENSION AT ALL. IT RIDES EXTREMELY ROUGH AND I WOULD SAY VERY UNSAFE TO OPERATE
DRIVER SIDE BREAK LIGHT WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER RESEARCHING MULTIPLE OWNERS IN SIMILAR MODEL YEARS HAVE NOTED THE ISSUE BEING INSIDE OF THE LIGHT ITSELF HAVING AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. BUT THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $750 FOR A NEW ONE WHEN THE PROBLEM IS WIDE SPREAD, NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND MADE RIGHT.
MY BRAKE LIGHTS ON MY 2015 YUKON DINALI WENT OUT ON THE RIGHT SIDE. I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AND NONE OF MY WARRANTIES WILL COVER IT.
RIGHT REAR LED TAIL/BRAKE LIGHT STOPPED WORKING. NOT EASILY FIXABLE. DEALERS ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND MAKE YOU PAY $700+ A PIECE FOR A WHOLE NEW ASSEMBLY. THE ISSUE APPEARS TO BE A FAULTY CIRCUIT BOARD INSIDE. THIS SHOULD BE SOMETHING THAT CAN BE TAKEN APART AND FIXED EASILY OR GM SHOULD REPLACE IT FOR FREE.
WHILE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY TO WORK-RELATED CAMP, UPON ARRIVAL, CO-WORKERS INFORMED ME ONE OF MY BRAKE LIGHTS WAS OUT. BRAKELIGHT WORKED SPORADICALLY BEFORE COMPLETELY GOING OUT FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS FINALLY BEING ABLE TO SHOW SERVICE DEPARTMENT. RESEARCHED CARGURUS AND NUMEROUS PEOPLE REPORTED THE CIRCUIT CRACKS AND EVENTUALLY BURNS OUT. DESIGN FLAW WHICH TURNS INTO A SAFETY ISSUE!!! RECALL IS NEEDED!!!
REAR PASSENGER TAIL LIGHT OUT AND PASSENGER WINDOW ONLY GOES HALF WAY DOWN.
REAR BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY FAILING TO LIGHT WHEN BRAKES APPLIED AND THERE IS NOT A NOTIFICATION TO THE DRIVER. THIS IS A MANUFACTURE FLAW WITH THE LED LIGHT CIRCUIT INSIDE THE ASSEMBLY. THERE IS NOT A LIGHT OUT NOTIFICATION SO THE DRIVER IS NOT AWARE THE BRAKE LIGHT HAS FAILED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IS AN WELL KNOWN ISSUE ON THE 2015-2019 YUKON. THIS IS OCCURRING OFTEN AND GMC IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH SUPPLYING REPLACEMENTS BECAUSE THE DEMAND IS SO HIGH FROM THE FAILURE. GMC HAS ALSO RAISED THE PRICE OF THE BRAKE LIGHT BY 30% FROM $425 TO $675 NOT INCLUDING LABOR. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED IT WAS A HIGH FAILING ITEM AND WAS ON BACKORDER AND NOT SURE WHEN THEY WOULD GET ONE. DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITHOUT PROPER BRAKE LIGHTS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND NOT LEGAL SO LEFT WITH LITTLE OPTION BUT TO STOP DRIVING THE YUKON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LIGHT WAS OUT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION WHERE MY VEHICLE ENDED UP IN A DITCH AND HIT A CEMENT CULVERT HEAD ON. THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY. ALL AIRBAGS ALONG THE SIDES OF THE VEHICLE DID, BUT NEITHER FRONT WERE ACTIVATED. ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE, THERE WERE OTHER ITEMS IN THE SEAT THAT WERE QUITE HEAVY.
PASSENGER SIDE TAIL LIGHT STOPS WORKING OCCASIONALLY. THIS AFFECT'S THE BRAKE LIGHT AND NIGHT DRIVING. IT HAS STOPPED WORKING UP TO A WEEK AT A TIME, BUT THEN STARTS WORKING AGAIN. IT MIGHT BE WEATHER RELATED.
ONE OF MY LED TAIL LIGHTS WENT OUT BUT IT RANDOMLY COMES BACK ON, THEN OFF AGAIN. WHEN I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP THEY MENTIONED THIS IS OCCURRING A LOT ON THIS MODEL AND AGE.
WHILE SITTING STILL AT A DRIVE THROUGH, BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR AS IF IT HAD NO PRESSURE. HAD NO BRAKES! NO MATTER HOW HARD I STOOD ON PEDAL THE CAR WOULD NOT COME TO COMPLETE STOP WHEN ROLLING. BLEW THROUGH STOP SIGNS AND LIGHTS BECAUSE EVEN AT 10 MPH COULD NOT STOP VEHICLE FROM ROLLING. HAD JUST GOT OFF INTERSTATE DOING 70 MPH. DOWN HILL GRADE WAS IMPOSSIBLE. FOUND OUT THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE BY GM INVOLVING FAILURE OF VACUUM PUMP BOOSTER. MANY REPORTS, HOPEFULLY NOT MANY DEATHS CAUSED.
APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING OUR 2015 GMC YUKON DENALI, HAVING ONLY DRIVEN UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS ON HIGHWAYS AND SURFACE STREETS FOR 15K MILES, THE PASSENGER SIDE TAIL / BRAKE LIGHT WENT OUT. IT WAS TAKEN IN FOR WARRANTY AND REPLACED BY THE DEALER. APPROX 6 MONTHS LATER THE DRIVER'S SIDE TAIL / BRAKE LIGHT DID THE SAME THING, AND WAS ALSO REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP. NOW APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR LATER THE REAR PASSENGER LIGHT IS OUT AGAIN AND DEALER WANTS $600.00 TO REPLACE THE FAULTY BRAKE LIGHT LAMP, BUT CAN'T BECAUSE THEY'RE IN SUCH DEMAND BASED ON THE DEFECTIVE PART, THAT THEY ARE BACKORDERED. A QUICK INTERNET SEARCH INDICATES THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES.
REAR BRAKE LIGHTS STOP WORKING INTERMITTENTLY, SOMETIMES ONE DOESN'T WORK, SOMETIMES BOTH ARE OUT, SOMETIMES BOTH WORK. SEEMS WORSE IN THE HOT WEATHER. TAKEN IT IN MULTIPLE TIME, 1ST 2 TIMES COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE OUTAGE, 3RD TIME THEY SAID IT NEEDED BOTH TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLIES REPLACES FOR $1200. THEN THEY WORKED ALL WINTER, NOW NOT WORKING CONSISTENTLY.
REAR TAIL/BRAKE LIGHT FAILED AFTER FUNCTIONING INTERMITTENTLY FOR A MONTH. GMC DEALER REPLACED THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY WITH A NEW GM PART AT A COST OF OVER $800. GMC DEALER EXPLAINED THAT DESPITE CHRONIC FAILURES OF THIS PARTICULAR PART, GM REFUSES TO RECALL. FAILURE APPEARS TO RESULT FROM A FAULTY CIRCUIT BOARD THAT CANNOT BE REPLACED OR REPAIRED EASILY. INTERMITTENT NATURE OF THE FAILURE IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT OR IN FOUL WEATHER.
THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST MAY FAIL MOMENTARILY AND THEN SUDDENLY FUNCTION AGAIN. THIS CAN CAUSE DIFFICULTY STEERING THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS, INCREASING RISK OF A CRASH. ALTHOUGH THERE IS A RECALL WHICH DESCRIBES EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING RECALL 18V586000 THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN I BACK UP OR TURN I LOSE POWER MOMENTARILY THEN IT COMES BACK
THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE ISSUES ONE SIDE STOPPED WORKING A FEW WEEKS AGO AND NOW THE OTHER SIDE STOPPED WORKING THEY ARE NOT CHEAP TO REPAIR AND THE CAR IS NOT EVEN GOT 40,000 MILES ON IT I WOULD EXPECT THAT THEY WOULD AT LEAST LAST ABOUT 80,000 MILES.
OVER THE LIFE OF OWING THIS NEW CAR, FROM MARCH 2016 TO JULY 2019, THE REAR PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY HAVE EACH FAILED ONCE AND WERE REPLACED BY MY OWN EXPENSE. AGAIN FOR A THIRD TIME TOTAL, THIS MONTH THE PASSENGER SIDE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY REPEATED ITS FAILURE TO HAVE THE BREAK LIGHT TO FUNCTION. I FEEL THIS AMOUNT OF PART FAILURE INSIDE 3 YEARS IS TOO EXTREME AND IS DUE TO POOR DESIGN BY THE MANUFACTURER. THESE FAILED PARTS HAPPENED AT 16,000, 30,000 AND 50,000 MILES OF VEHICLE USE. NONE OF THE TAILLIGHT PARTS WERE EVER PHYSICALLY DAMAGED BEFORE. THE COST OF THE PART ALONE IS $795.00. THAT IS EVEN MORE REDICULOUS CONSIDERING A HOME LED BULB LASTS LONGER AND COSTS MUCH LESS.
MY VEHICLE HAS A CRACK IN THE COMBI-COOLER AS DESCRIBED IN NHSTA REFERENCE NUMBER: N162080780 AND GM SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT 17336. IN THE DOCUMENTATION FOR THE SPECIAL COVERAGE IT STATES THAT THE COVERAGE PERIOD IS 5 YEARS OF 60,000 MILES BASED ON THE DATE THE VEHICLE ENTERED SERVICE. THIS VEHICLE WAS A GM EXECUTIVE VEHICLE UNTIL PURCHASED WITH 15102 MILES VIA THE GM PEP PROGRAM. GM IS NOT INCLUDING MY VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH IT IS CLEARLY STATED IN THE COVERAGE SINCE THEIR SYSTEMS DO NOT ACCOUNT FOR A VEHICLE THAT ENTERS SERVICE WITH THIS MANY MILES. I BELIEVE THIS IS A VIOLATION OF THEIR AGREEMENT WITH NHTSA AND REQUEST THAT NHTSA INVESTIGATE THE TOTAL NUMBER OF AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER UNIT FAILURES USED IN SUCH VEHICLES TO IDENTIFY IF A FULL FLEDGED RECALL IS WARRANTED.
TAIL LIGHTS ONLY WORK INTERMITTENTLY
PASSENGER SIDE REAR BRAKE LIGHT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. IT IS AN LED LIGHT WHICH SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO BE REPLACED. OUR LOCAL GMC SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THAT IT IS THE 'DRIVER' ATTACHED TO THE LED BULB THAT IS FAULTY, BUT IT CANNOT SIMPLY BE REPLACED. THEY HAVE TO REINSTALL AN ENTIRE TAIL LIGHT WHICH APPARENTLY IS PRETTY COSTLY. I WAS QUOTED $925. AGAIN, NOTHING WRONG WITH THE LIGHT BULB ITSELF. SHOULDN'T COST $925 TO FIX.
MY PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LIGHT WENT OUT A FEW MONTHS AGO. TURN SIGNAL WORKS. NOW MY DRIVER SIDE BRAKE LIGHT IS OUT. TURN SIGNAL DOES WORK. TO GET BOTH FIXED, I HAVE TO HAVE THE ENTIRE UNIT REPLACED WHICH IS QUITE EXPENSIVE. I ALREADY REPLACED THE FRONT PASSENGER UNIT DUE TO THE RUNNING LIGHT GOING OUT 2 YEARS AGO. BRAKE LIGHTS, ARE NECESSARY FOR SAFETY WHICH IS A PROBLEM. THESE LED LIGHTS ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE A LONGER FUNCTIONALITY. AND THEY CANNOT BE REPLACED EASILY OR COST-EFFECTIVELY.

SOMEONE WHO WAS DRIVING BEHIND ME TOLD ME MY DRIVER'S SIDE BRAKE LIGHT WAS OUT. I CHECKED IT WITH THE HELP OF SOMEONE ELSE A COUPLE TIMES AFTERWARDS AND IT WORKED. THEN A WEEK OR SO LATER A CO-WORKER TOLD ME THE SAME THING, THAT IT WAS OUT. I CHECKED IT AGAIN LATER AND IT WORKED, SO THE PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED. I JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 1/7/2019 AND BEFORE IT WAS OFFERED FOR SALE THE PASSENGER-SIDE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS ALSO REPLACED.
REAR TAIL LIGHT WENT OUT AND THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE TAIL LIGHT? THIS IS NUTTS
TAIL LIGHT KEEP GOING OFF, DEALER WONT FIX IT UNDER WARRANTY, THEY $700 WHEN ITS A MANUFACTURE ISSUE, SOMETHING WRONG THAT KEEP BURNING THE LED LIGHTS.
TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLIES KEEP FAILING. DEALER REPLACED ONE UNDER WARRANTY, BUT OTHER NOW FAILED AND CHARGING $800+ TO FIX. DEFECT IN DESIGN/MANUFACTURING OF CRITICAL SAFETY COMPONENT. IT'S A COMMON AND KNOWN DEFECT IN THE PART. OUR OTHER YUKON'S HAVE THE SAME ISSUES.
