TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TAIL LAMPS WERE INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MANDAL BUICK GMC (11290 MANDAL PKWY, D'IBERVILLE, MS 39540). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. THE DEALER QUOTED A COST OF $760 TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
BEGINNING AROUND 56,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION STARTED LURCHING AND STUTTERING AT SLOW SPEEDS. IT IS WORSE WHEN COLD BUT NEVER QUITE GOES AWAY. DEALERSHIP KEPT IT FOR 3 DAYS AND FELT IT BUT SAID ALL WAS WITHIN NORMAL RANGE. BEGINNING AROUND 65,000 IT STARTED STUTTERING WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE WHILE IN MOTION, SUCH AS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN TRYING TO PASS. THIS IS NOT ONLY ANNOYING BUT DANGEROUS WHEN YOU CAN'T GET THE POWER YOU NEED WHEN NEEDED BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION CAN'T DECIDE WHEN TO SHIFT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 GMC YUKON. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC, THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY SLIPPED AND THE VEHICLE MADE A HIGH PITCHED HUMMING SOUND. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HILTON HEAD BUICK GMC CADILLAC (LOCATED AT 1090 FORDING ISLAND RD, BLUFFTON, SC 29910, 843-815-1500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED BECAUSE THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO GET THE PART FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO GET CONFIRMATION AS TO WHEN THE PART WOULD BE PROVIDED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER, BUT WAS UNABLE TO SPEAK WITH ANYONE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,700.
PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE AND TAIL LIGHT QUIT WORKING TOOK TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAD FIXED IT AND HAD NOT. TOOK BACK TO THEM AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T GET ONE IT'S ON BACK ORDER. AFTER LOOKING INTO IT MYSELF IT SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM THAT GM ISN'T DOING ANYTHING TO FIX BUT PUT THE SAME LIGHTS BACK IN THAT WILL FAIL AGAIN. I'VE ASKED ABOUT AN UPDATED LIGHT THAT WOULDN'T FAIL AGAIN AND THE DEALERSHIP SEEMS TO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE LIGHTS AT ALL. GM NEEDS TO STEP UP AND FIX THE THIS ISSUE AS IT IS A SAFETY PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 GMC YUKON. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL RUBBING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL. ALSO, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THOMPSON BUICK GMC (2600 WAKE FOREST RD, RALEIGH, NC 27609, (919) 809-6217) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURES COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURES RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE CONTACT REFERENCED BULLETIN NUMBER: 00-03-10-006N. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 9-5435571823. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,000.
DRIVERS SIDE LED BRAKE LIGHT DOES NOT FUNCTION. VEHICLE HAS 52,000 MILES. KNOWN DEFECT YET GMC DOES NOT OFFER REPAIR. REQUIRES $800 LIGHT ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT.
WAS IN SCHOOL CAR LINE, WENT TO MOVE FORWARD A LITTLE AND BRAKES DIDNT WORK PROPERLY. ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. GO STRAIGHT TO A DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY TELL ME ABOUT THE RECALL. SCHEDULE THE FIX, THIS MORNING WHEN I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP I DISCOVER THE RECALL DIDNT FIX MY ISSUE. LEARN THAT I NEED A VACCUUM PUMP REPLACEMENT. I AM UPSET THAT I AM SUPPOSE TO PAY $500 FOR A FAULTY VACCUUM PUMP AND RISK MY LIFE, THE KIDS LIVES AND PEOPLE'S LIVE AROUND ME UNTIL I CAN AFFORD THIS REPAIR WHEN IT IS FAULTY IN THE FIRST PLACE.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND FLASHING, STABILITRACK LIGHT COMES ON, VEHICLE IDLES ROUGH AND EVENTUALLY STALLED OUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE IN MY 2017 GMC YUKON. ONCE AT ~53K MILES, AGAIN AT ~64K MILES. ONE TIME IT STALLED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH MY KIDS IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME LATE AT NIGHT ON VACATION AND HAD TO BE TOWED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND WE HAD TO STAY IN A HOTEL OUT OF TOWN UNEXPECTEDLY. THE 2ND TIME HAPPENED CLOSER TO HOME BUT HAD TO PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR SINCE THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND THE DEALERSHIP NO LONGER DOES LOANERS. THE VEHICLE RUNS ROUGH WHILE DRIVING, LOSES POWER, AND SEEMS TO LOSE CONTROL. IT IS VERY SCARY WHEN IT HAPPENS. HAPPENED IN OCT 2019 AND AGAIN JULY 2020. IT IS THE SAME ISSUE AS DESCRIBED IN N182198000 SPECIAL COVERAGE MEMO (DCS5097) FROM JULY 26, 2019 BUT ISN'T COVERED IN MY STATE YET APPARENTLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 GMC YUKON. WHILE THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND WAS PARKING THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD TO MAKE A COMPLETE STOP. ALSO, THE SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BLAKE FULENWIDER DODGE (LOCATED AT 1310 E MAIN ST, EASTLAND, TX 76448, (254) 488-429) WHERE IT WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) ON OCTOBER 18, 2019. AFTER THE CONTACT LEFT THE DEALER, AND WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,700. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE GMC YUKON MODELS IN ALL TRIMS, HAVE FAULTY LED STRIPS THAT CAUSE THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO FAIL ON THE LEFT, AND RIGHT BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. THE FRUSTRATING PART IS IT WORKS INTERMITTENTLY, AND WHEN IT'S OFF A SLIGHT TAP WILL MOMENTARILY BRING IT BACK ON FOR THE DURATION OF THE JOLT. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT IT'S FAULTY CONNECTION INSIDE THE SEALS BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ON OWNER FORUMS OF GMC YUKON'S . THIS IS KNOWN AS THE NEW YEAR MODELS 18-19 ARE NOT HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
DRIVERS SIDE LED BRAKE LIGHT STRIP INOP. DEALER SAYS ITS 650 PER SIDE PLUS LABOR TO REPLACE. GMC IS AWARE OF ISSUE BUT WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCT. THEY ALSO LIE AND SAY IT'S THE FIRST THEY HAVE HEARD OF THIS TYPE OF FAILURE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND CUSTOMER IS LIABLE FOR A TICKET THAT MAY RESULT FROM FAULTY GM PARTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT RECEIVED THREE DIFFERENT LETTERS FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE LETTER SENT IN APRIL OF 2019 STATED THAT THEY WERE EXTENDING THE WARRANTY COVERAGE. THE LETTER SENT IN SEPTEMBER OF 2019 MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE THIRD LETTER SENT IN NOVEMBER OF 2019 INDICATED THAT THE ISSUE WAS NOT A RECALL AND THEY WERE EXTENDING THE WARRANTY AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WINEGARDNER GMC BUICK OF PRINCE FREDERICK (935 SOLOMONS ISLAND RD N, PRINCE FREDERICK, MD 20678, (443) 295-6182) WHERE THE EBCM MODULE WAS REPROGRAMMED ONLY FOR THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. THE VACUUM PUMP SYSTEM WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT HAD NOT RESPONDED BACK TO THE CONTACT'S INQUIRIES. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 GMC YUKON. WHILE DRIVING 14 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP AND THE BRAKE ASSIST AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT A MODE FOR THE BRAKES WAS SWITCHED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,698.
REAR PASSENGER TAIL LIGHT FAILURE. TAIL LIGHT FAILS PREMATURELY WITHOUT ANY MEANS TO WARN DRIVER SHORT OF DIRECT OBSERVATION. PROBLEM KNOWN TO GMC GIVEN HIGH NUMBER OF FAILURES AND COMPLAINTS OF PREMATURE FAILURES. TAIL LIGHT IS EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE.
THE REAR PASSENGER LIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS FAILED. NO LIGHTS WITHIN THE HOUSING ARE CURRENTLY WORKING. THE UNSAFE CONDITION EXISTS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, AS IT HAS NO RUNNING LIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS OR TURN SIGNALS. THIS APPEARS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR YUKON'S OF THIS YEAR, WHICH ARE STILL FAIRLY NEW.
DRIVING FROM PRESCOTT, AZ TO PHOENIX, AZ WITH MY HUSBAND AND 3 YEAR OLD SON. WE WERE HEADING EAST ON SR-69 WHEN WE WERE PULLED OVER. WE WERE INFORMED THAT OUR PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LIGHT WAS NON-OPERATIONAL. AFTER INSPECTION IT WAS FOUND THAT TURN SIGNAL AND HAZARD LIGHTS WORKED BUT NOT BREAK. A REPAIR ORDER WAS ISSUED. WE TOOK IT TO THE GMC DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE WHOLE TAIL/BRAKE LIGHT HOUSING, WIRE, AND POTENTIALLY THE FUSE NEEDED REPLACED AND THAT IT WOULD COST $700. WE WERE ALSO TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT A THEY HAVE HAD SEVERAL GMC YUKON OWNERS COME IN WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND THAT IT WAS A PART MALFUNCTION THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE COVERED BY OUT WARRANTY.
LOW SPEED BREAK FAILURE. IN MY DRIVEWAY, IN PARKINGLOTS, USUALLY AFTER HAVING FOOT ON BREAK TO "ROLL" AND THEN STOP AGAIN, NO BREAKS, OR HAVE TO PUT TWO FEET DOWN TO STOP. I HIT A CAR IN FRONT OF ME TWO DAYS AGO AFTER WAITING AT A RED LIGHT, STARTING TO ROLL BECAUSE THEY ROLLED, THEN THEY STOPPED, AND I HIT THE BREAK AND NOTHING HAPPENED. MY HUSBAND HAS TAKEN THE CAR MULTIPLE TIMES TO BE LOOKED AT FOR THE BREAKS NOT WORKING FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS.
TAIL LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY WORK. DEALER CLAIMS FULL TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY REQUIRED TO FIX (AT ~$850) AND NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY. HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF SIMILAR PROBLEM. SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOPS POST FIXES TO SOLUTION BY MELTING PLASTIC HOUSING AND CONNECTING METAL PIECES ON CIRCUIT BOARD ASSEMBLY THAT BREAK (THIS IS JUST A THIN METAL PLATE THAT WAS POORLY DESIGNED AND CRACKS AT A SIMILAR POINT FREQUENTLY. I THINK THIS IS A FAULTY DESIGN THAT EXPOSES MANY CUSTOMER ERA TO GREAT RISK AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY GMC. PLEASE LOOK INTO IT. CAR IS IN MOTION, STATIONARY OR TURNING WHEN HAPPENS. BRAKE LIGHTS ARE LIGHT THAT IS IMPACTED.
2017 YUKON (ONLY BEEN IN USE FOR 19 MONTHS) DS BRAKELIGHT ASSEMBLY (RED LED OUTTER RING) STOPPED WORKING.
HAVE NO BRAKES AT LOW SPEED DUE TO FAULTY VACUUM PUMP
I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIME FOR INSPECTION. THE FIRST TIME INVOLVED A REPEATED VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING. THE RESOLUTION WAS TO CHANGE OR FLUSH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TO GET RID OF ANY METAL SHAVINGS. SINCE THEN I'VE TAKEN IT BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE WITH REPORTS OF JERKING, A DELAYED START WHEN ACCELERATING, AND MOST RECENTLY A LURCHING WHEN SHIFTING BETWEEN REVERSE AND DRIVE. EACH TIME THEY HAVE SAID THIS IS NORMAL.
PULLED OVER BY POLICE FOR MALFUNCTIONING LHR BRAKE LIGHT. ENTIRE REAR LAMP ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED SINCE IT IS AN INTEGRATED CIRCUIT BOARD WITH LED LAMPS. $700 PLUS INSTALLATION. SEVERAL VICTIMS ON-LINE DISCUSSION FORUMS.
MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH WHEN HE NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN AND NOTICED THE BRAKES ON THE YUKON WERE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. MORE SPECIFICALLY, THE BRAKES WOULD NOT FUNCTION THE FIRST 3-4 TIMES WHEN THEY WERE APPLIED OR TAPPED, BUT THEREAFTER THE BRAKES WOULD BECOME HARD AND HE HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AS HE COULD BUT WITH LITTLE TO NO STOPPING ABILITY. THE 'BRAKE ASSIST' LIGHT CAME ON. HAD WE BEEN IN ANY TRAFFIC OR ON A SHORTER ROAD, WE WOULD HAVE SURELY CRASHED INTO SOMEONE AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC CONSIDERING WE LIVE IN DALLAS WHERE THERE IS A LOT OF TRAFFIC. THIS DAY WE WERE VERY LUCKY! GM HAD ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN #PIT5361B WHICH AFFECTED MULTIPLE YEARS AND CLASSES OF VEHICLES TO INCLUDE THE 2015 YUKON. GM ACKNOWLEDGED THAT 'A CUSTOMER MAY COMMENT ON A HARD BRAKE PEDAL OR THAT INCREASED EFFORT IS NEEDED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL.' AS EVIDENCE OF THE DEFECT, GM NOTIFIED ITS DEALERS, 'WHILE PERFORMING NORMAL DIAGNOSTICS, FLUID MAY BE FOUND IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND/OR THE BOOSTER VACUUM LINE.' HOWEVER, WE CALLED MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS WITHIN THE DFW AREA AND THEY ALL DENIED KNOWING ANY ISSUE WITH GM BRAKES FAILING OR THE VACUUM PUMP. INTERESTINGLY, THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ON THIS VERY ISSUE AND GM ALSO ISSUED A SERIES OF SERVICE BULLETINS TO ITS DEALERS REGARDING THE BRAKE DEFECT, WITH THE LATEST BULLETIN DATED MARCH 15, 2017, TO INCLUDE THE 2015-2016 YUKON. OURS IS JUST A 2017, 1 YEAR OUTSIDE OF THAT. WHO IS TO SAY THIS YEAR ISN'T AFFECTED CONSIDERING PAST HISTORY OF THE BULLETINS. IT WAS THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY AND NO DEALERSHIP COULD EVEN GET TO IT BESIDES NOT KNOWING OF ANY 'ISSUE', EVEN THOUGH IT'S ALL OVER THE INTERNET.
WHILE COMING TO TRAFFIC LIGHTS TO MAKE A STOP THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE PEDAL BEGINS TO GET HARDER AND HARDER TO PRESS WHILE LOSING THE ABILITY TO STOP THE VEHICLE. WHILE ENTERING PARKING SPACES THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL GET EXTREMELY HARD AND LOSE ALMOST ALL STOPPING POWER. THIS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES IN ONE DAY RESULTING IN A NEAR REAR-ENDING OF ANOTHER VEHICLE AS WELL AS HITTING A CURB WHICH STOPPED US FROM ENTERING THE FRONT WINDOW OF A RETAIL ESTABLISHMENT.
This happened 5 years ago but I never reported it. GMC 2017 Yukon. I put my SUV in park, and entered and exited it several times while parked in my driveway. When I went to grab my purse (standing at drivers side door, reaching for purse on passenger seat) the car rolled. I was on a sloped driveway. The car rolled backwards, and I tried to jam it into park more strongly, but it just made a grinding noise and kept going. I was knocked over by the car door, pulled under the car and ended up having my legs run over by the car. I sustained injuries which affect me to this day. I was transported to the hospital by an ambulance after a 911 call, so I presume there is a police report. I was injured and dazed. This happened on [XXX]. I am only reporting it now since I never thought about doing so before I read an article today about cars being recalled for this problem. If other people have my model of car and this is a problem, I would want them to know. I was thinking maybe I hit the gear shift with my purse and knocked it out of park, but this should not have happened without the brake depressed. I was standing next to the drivers side door when this happened. I did have the car taken to the dealership to be examined, and they said it was ok, but could not really explain how this happened. I still have this SUV but am very cautious about any situation where the car could roll when in park and cause injury. The car crashed into a tree and that stopped the rolling. Has there been other reports of this happening with this model of car? I would like to know, because if there is a problem that has come to light in this, I will get a different vehicle! 2017 GMC Yukon Denali 4WD. Rear passenger brake light intermittently fails while driving Confusing and causing motorists behind my vehicle to receive inconsistent intermittent brake warning lights to alarm other motorists I have stopped. Someone is going to end up slamming into me because of this. It’s a dangerous common failure that needs to be address ASAP. I’m not waiting but GM’s executive corporate office will get the entire bill plus time lost and another BBB review.
I HAVE 47,078 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. IT CURRENTLY HAS A RANDOM MISFIRE THAT IS BEING BLAMED ON BAD FUEL INJECTORS. TO REPLACE ALL OF MY FUEL INJECTORS WILL COST ME APPROXIMATELY $1783.00 AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AS MY VEHICLE IS 10,000 MILES OVER WARRANTY. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BE REPLACING FUEL INJECTORS ON A 1 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. IT RUNS ON LIMITED POWER MODE WHEN I START IT. I HAVE TO START IT AND THEN SHUT IT OFF AGAIN FOR IT TO RUN IN NORMAL OPERATION BUT IT STILL SHOWS A MISFIRE CODE.
THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO OCCASIONALLY STALL/SPUTTER WHEN ACCELERATING/PROCEEDING FROM A STOP POSITION AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. EVEN THOUGH ON A SMOOTH ROAD SURFACE, THE RIGHT WHEEL SEEMS TO VIBRATE. THE ENGINE STALL IS THE SAME INSTANCE WHICH OCCURRED IN THE 2015 VEHICLE THAT I TRADED BECAUSE IT LEFT ME STRANDED. THE WHEEL SHAKING IS NOT A CONTINUOUS EVENT. THE STALLING OCCURS FREQUENTLY. AN APPOINTMENT HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY 8/13 FOR A DEALER INSPECTION OF MY COMPLAINT. VEHICLE WILL BE LEFT OVER AND A LOANER PROVIDED.
Presently my air conditioner in my 2017 Yukon Denali has went out around 55 thousand miles approximately .We called to make appointments many times & after several attempts finally my car was early one morning & left until about 4:30;no one called to tell my husband not myself that their machine was not working.So no I’m order to wait for another appt !Today June 27th they are finally checking my air conditioner.I received a call saying this would be 1200.00 dollars!I bought this car with 23 miles on it and 6 MONTHS AFTER I DROVE IT I TOLD MY HUSBAND SOMETHING DI NOT SOUND RIGHT NOR FEEL RIGHT .We tried to make Many appts for 3 years UNTIL GMC FINALLY ADMITTED THERE WAS A RECALL!!Im furious.My vechile would cut off in the middle of a main Hwy with my 9 year old with me.Automatic brake will stop me at 55 mph ;for no reason .Windows down sound like you are in a wind tunnel !!Sun roof leak .Middle console latch just stopped working .ENGINE PROBLEM STILL NOT FIXED & UNDER LEMON LAW AFTER 3 attempts,& with all the lies many GMC LOCAL DEALERS HAVE TOLD ME DUE TO JUST NOT WANTING TO ADMITT THE TRUTH.I feel unbelievably frustrated.
MAY 17, 2018 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. DEALERSHIP SAID INJECTOR #3 WAS BAD. REPLACED SAME DAY. THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON 6/13/18. DEALERSHIP SAID INJECTOR #6 IS BAD. IN PROGRESS OF REPLACING IT. THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE WITH 13,000 MILES ON IT CURRENTLY. BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP SEP 30TH, 2017. TWO BAD INJECTORS IN 9 MONTHS WITH THE OCCURRENCES HAPPENING WITHIN LESS THAN A MONTH OF EACH OTHER? SOMETHING HAS TO BE CAUSING THE INJECTORS TO GO BAD.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ARE VERY ROUGH IN SLOW TRAFFIC WITH AS MUCH AS ONE TO TWO SECOND DELAYS IN SHIFTING INTO GEAR WITH A LOUD THUMP. IT IS SO ROUGH THAT IT FEELS LIKE SOMEONE MAY HAVE RAN INTO THE YOUR BACK BUMPER. IT IS ALSO BAD ENOUGH THAT IT STARTLES THE DRIVER AND COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE. GM IS SAYING THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS EIGHT SPEED TRANSMISSION. IF MY CAR, THE ONE I'M DRIVING NOW, HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM I WOULD DEFINITELY REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A 2017 DENALI WITH LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON IT. ONLINE THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND IT SEEMS THAT GM IS TRYING TO WAIT THE PUBLIC OUT NOW THAT THE NEW VEHICLES HAVE A NEW TEN SPEED TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND WE WOULD HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT. AGAIN, THIS TO ME IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.
WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS (10-20 MPH), I HAVE CONTINUOUSLY EXPERIENCED "LUNGING" AND "JERKINESS" WITH MY TRANSMISSION FOR OVER 2 YEARS NOW. DESPITE APPROXIMATELY A DOZEN SEPARATE EVALUATIONS AND/OR REPAIRS BY GM-CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS, THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO EXIST. I AM TOLD THAT THE ISSUE IS NORMAL AND THAT I MUST LIVE WITH THE ISSUE AS BEING NORMAL. NOT ONLY AM I CONCERNED ABOUT THE ONGOING MAINTENANCE COST, BUT THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND PASSENGERS SHOULD THE VEHICLE STRIKE AN OBJECT OR PERSON ACCIDENTALLY. ACCORDING TO VARIOUS ONLINE SOURCES, THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF GM OWNERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR ISSUES, AND EVEN A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT HAS BEEN FILED. HOWEVER, THERE HAS BEEN NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OR MEANINGFUL RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEMS.
WHEN DRIVING OCCASIONALLY YOU HAVE TO PUSH REALLY HARD ON THE BRAKES TO STOP. 9/10 TIMES BRAKES WORK NORMAL BUT ONCE IN A WHILE YOU HAVE TO PRESS VERY HARD TO STOP. WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY AT A VERY LOW SPEED BRAKES WERE HARD TO PRESS AND RAN INTO THE WALL OF THE GARAGE. BROUGHT TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AND STILL NOT FIXED.
THE TRANSMISSION OR TORQUE CONVERTER ARE SHUDDERING HOW DO WE FIX, HOW DO I PROTECT FAMILY, WILL THE TRANSMISSION FALL OUT ON HIGHWAY CAN I KEEP DRIVING AND BE SAFETY WITH FAMILY?
VEHICLE FIRE. INVESTIGATION REVEALED POINT OF ORIGIN WAS IN LEFT REAR TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY. CAUSE DETERMINED TO BE AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. VEHICLE WAS STATION, HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN AND WAS PARKED IN ATTACHED RESIDENTIAL GARAGE. FIRE DESTROYED VEHICLE AND EXTENDED TO RESIDENCE. THIS REPORT IS BEING MADE BY THE COUNTY FIRE MARSHAL. THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT EXTREMELY HARD INTO FIRST GEAR WHILE GRADUALLY COMING TO A STOP. OCCASIONALLY WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY (PARKING LOTS) THE TRANSMISSION UPSHIFTS TO SECOND GEAR CAUSING THE CAR TO LURCH FORWARD NEARLY CAUSING A COLLISION. THIS IS A CONTINUING PROBLEM THAT CANNOT BE REPAIRED AT THE DEALERSHIP.
I PURCHASED MY 2017 YUKON DENALI IN 2017. SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT I HAVE NOTICED A PROBLEM WITH APPEARS TO BE THE TRANSMISSION. I WILL BE AT A STOP THEN I ACCELERATE AND THE CAR HAS A HARD SHIFT FORWARD. IT TENDS TO PULL FORWARD ALL OF A SUDDEN BUT VERY VIOLENTLY. I HAVE TAKEN IN MY YUKON TO THE TWO GMC DELERSHIPS IN MY AREA SEVERAL TIMES. THEY HAVE SERVICED IT AND EVEN PERFORMED A TRANSMISSION FLUSH BUT STILL THE PROBLEM HAS ALWAYS CONTINUED. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS YUKON PROBLEM FOR TWO YEARS NOW. ITS SO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.
HANDS FREE REAR CARGO DOOR OPENS AND CLOSES WHEN PEOPLE ARE IN DANGER OF BEING STRUCK BY THE MOVING DOOR, WITHOUT AN INTENTIONAL MOTION OF THE FOOT TO OPEN OR CLOSE THE DOOR. THE DOOR HAS CLOSED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES WHILE LOADING/UNLOADING CARGO. BROUGHT TO DEALER BUT THEY SAY GMC HAS NOT RELEASED PART NUMBER OF A SOFTWARE UPDATE.
FROM TIME TO TIME THE VEHICLE LUNGES FORWARD WHEN IM STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, CROSSWALK OR A STOP SIGN. I HAVE HAD IT INTO THE DEALERSHIPS NUMEROUS TIMES BUT GM ONLY WANTS TO PUT BANDAIDS ON THE ISSUE, GM HAS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH THEIR EIGHT SPEED TRANSMISSION, THEY ONLY HAVE INTERNAL BULLETINS TO THEIR DEALERSHIPS. THE DEALERSHIP TELLS YOU TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN AND THEY WILL DRIVE IT WITH THE CUSTOMER, BUT THE ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT AND DOESNT ALWAYS LUNGES, GM IS TRYING TO OUTLAST THE CUSTOMERS HOPING THEY WILL GET TIRED OF DEALING WITH THE ISSUE AND THEY WILL GO AWAY. GM CANNOT AFFORD A RECALL BECAUSE OF THE SIZE OF THE PROBLEM, SEVERAL DEATHS WILL OCCUR UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED. THE ISSUE HAPPENS ON THE ROADWAYS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 GMC YUKON. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE "SAFETY ASSIST SYSTEM SERVICE" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (TOM KELLEY BUICK/GMC, FORT WAYNE, INDIANA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR FAILED AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 900.
