Hood release cable has seized closed - Honda has been unable to give any explanation as to why and repair times for part are months out - unable to access engine or battery compartment due to this- unable to refill washer fluid, check oil etc -

LOUD HUMMING/WHINING NOISE OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 35-50 MPH. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS EAR SPLITTING NOISE IS TO CRACK A WINDOW. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, IT IS A KNOWN-ISSUE WITH THE AUTOMATIC NOISE CANCELLING SYSTEM IN 2018 HONDA ACCORDS AND LATER. HONDA HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE IN OVER 3 YEARS. IT IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER, NOT TO MENTION UNSAFE TO HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE WINDOW OPEN IN FREEZING TEMPERATURE AND RAIN. IT HAPPENS TO ME ALMOST EVERY TIME I DRIVE, ESPECIALLY IN TEMPERATURES BELOW 50 DEGREES.
DRIVING SOUTHBOUND ON 101 SOUTH ON SUNNY CLEAR DAY 65 DEGREES WITH ALMOST FULL FUEL TANK AND 2 BATTERY BARS (ALMOST EMPTY) AND CLIMBING UP INCLINE ON 7 DEGREE GRADE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND LOST ALL POWER AND CAR COMPLETELY SLOWED DOWN TO A STOP (LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER WITH NO PROBLEM).
THE 2018 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID'S ACTIVE NOISE CANCELING (ANC) SYSTEM IS FLAWED. THE CAR HOWLS, ROARS AND CAN EVEN PRODUCE A LOUD BOOM AT CERTAIN CONDITIONS (IE. LIGHT ACCELERATION, ENGINE RPMS ~2250, COLDER TEMPS (<50DEGF), STARTING @ 30+MPH BUT WORST IS @ ~52MPH). I TOOK THE CAR INTO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, AFTER THEY CHECKED THE INTERNAL CAR MICROPHONES WERE OK (PER A HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN TEST, ...SO HONDA AMERICA KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM), THEY STOPPED WORK AND TOLD ME HONDA CORPORATE WON'T LET THEM REPLACE THE ANC, BECAUSE APPARENTLY THE TECHNICIAN'S AUDIO RECORDING OF THE PROBLEM IN MY CAR WASN'T SUFFICIENTLY ADEQUATE. NOTE: I FIND THIS PROBLEM IS REPEATEDLY DISCUSSED ON THE VARIOUS 2018-20 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID FORUMS WITH MANY FRUSTRATED OWNERS. LIKE MANY ON THE FORUMS, I ASKED (AND PAID FOR) THE HONDA TECHNICIAN TO DISCONNECT THE ANC. WHILE THE LOW SPEED ROAD NOISE IS MUCH HIGHER, THE ROAR, HOWLING AND OBNOXIOUS BOOM IS GONE. DEFINITELY AUTOMATIC NOISE CANCELLING. HAVE HAD TO DEALERSHIP WHICH REPLACED MULTIPLE MICROPHONES. NOISE PERSISTS. USUALLY IN COLD WEATHER AND ALWAYS BETWEEN 50-55 MPH OR ~35 MPH. HUMMING / BUZZING NOISE EMITTED FROM FRONT SPEAKERS NEAR PASSENGER AND DRIVER FEET.
2018 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID TOURING - LOUD HUMMING NOISE WHILE CRUISING AT 52MPH. READ GOOGLE AND YOU'LL FIND MANY OTHERS HAVE SIMILAR ISSUES BUT NO KNOWN RESOLVE. HAVE BEEN REPEATEDLY ABLE TO REPRODUCE AND IT CAN BE OBNOXIOUS AT TIMES BUT OF COURSE HONDA DENIES ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE ISSUE AND CLAIMS THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE CLEANING THE FRONT WINDSHIELD IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT NO IMPACT TO THE WINDSHIELD HAD OCCURRED TO CAUSE THE CRACK. THE WINDSHIELD HAD BEEN REPLACED PREVIOUSLY DUE TO CRACKING. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER HONDA WEST LOCATED AT 7615 W. SAHARA AVE, LAS VEGAS, NV 89117 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPROACHING HIS DRIVEWAY, HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP BUT WITHOUT WARNING, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATE FORWARD AND CRASHED INTO HIS GARAGE AS THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK. THE VEHICLE REVERSED DOWN THE DRIVE WAY WENT THROUGH A FENCE CRASHED INTO A BOLDER WHICH STOPPED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL REVVING AND AN ODOR WAS COMING FROM THE TIRES. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AIR BAG DEPLOYED HOWEVER NO OTHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT MADE DUE TO PRIVATE PROPERTY REGULATION. NO MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT TOWING LOT HOWEVER AT THIS MOMENT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED. THE DEALER SUNSET HONDA (12250 LOS OSOS VALLEY RD, SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA 93405 (805) 250-4998) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER NO RESPONSE WAS MADE TO THE VOICE MAIL MESSAGE THAT WAS SENT FROM THE CONTACT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE APPROXIMATELY 15,500.*CK*DT*JB *BF*JB
I WAS SLOWLY PULLING INTO MY GARAGE TO PARK. WHEN I PRESSED ON THE PARKING BREAK, THE CAR REVVED TO FULL SPEED, SLAMMED INTO GARAGE AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE BRAKES, OR ANY ATTEMPT TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION OR TO CONTROL THE CAR, INCLUDING FAILURE OF THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION OR PARKING COLLISION TO FUNCTION, EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE ALL TURNED ON. WHEN "PARK" WAS DEPRESSED, WITH THE ENGINE STILL REVVING AT A HIGH SPEED, THE CAR FLEW FULL SPEED INTO REVERSE INTO THE DRIVEWAY, SPUN IN A CIRCLE THEN FLEW THROUGH THE DRIVEWAY ELEVATED CONCRETE DIVIDER, THROUGH THE NEIGHBORS FENCE AND WAS STOPPED BY A LARGE BOULDER UNDER THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE WAS SMOKING AND REVVING AND DID NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP. THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG HAD DEPLOYED AND THE DOOR WAS JAMMED. I CRAWLED OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE NEIGHBOR INTO WHOSE YARD THE VEHICLE WENT, WITNESSED THE INCIDENT. ANOTHER NEIGHBOR RUSHED TO THE CAR WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER, DISCONNECTED ELECTRICAL WIRING AND SPRAYED THE ENGINE. THE CAR HAD GONE TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL. IT TOOK THE TOWING SERVICE 2 HOURS TO GET THE CAR OUT OF THE YARD. MY INSURANCE COMPANY DETERMINED THE CAR TO BE A TOTAL LOSS. RECENTLY, THE COLLISION CENTER WHERE THE CAR WAS EVENTUALLY TAKEN, COMPLETED AN ANALYSIS OF THE CAR'S COMPUTER AND DETERMINED THERE HAD BEEN MULTIPLE COMPUTER SYSTEM FAILURES LEADING TO THE CAR BECOMING UNCONTROLLABLE. FORTUNATELY, I WAS NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED. HAD THIS HAPPENED IN A BUSY AREA, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A MUCH MORE DISASTROUS RESULT WITH DEATHS. THE POLICE ARRIVED BUT DID NOT FILE A POLICE REPORT AS THE INCIDENT WAS ON PRIVATE PROPERTY AND THERE WAS NO ONE SERIOUSLY INJURED.*DT *TR
LOW TIRE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WHEN YOUR TIRES AREN'T LOW. HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THE SAME THING. BELIEVE THIS IS DANGEROUS AS A PERSON DRIVING ON A INTERSTATE COULD IGNORE THE LIGHT BELIEVING THE READING OF LOW TIRE IS FALSE WHEN IN REALITY IT MAY NOT. TIRE GOES FLAT AT HIGH SPEEDS OR BLOW OUT COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT. HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY ARE AWARE BUT CANNOT DO ANYTHING. ALSO SAID THE RESULT OF THE WARNING COULD BE WEATHER OR ROAD CONDITIONS. OUR VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY WITH 30,800 MILES. THERE ARE SENDING UNITS FOR EACH TIRE. IF THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH HONDA'S THEN WHY ARE THEY ALLOWED TO,KEEP PRODUCING THIS DEFECT. LIGHT COMES ON OFTEN AND IT IS VERY AGGRAVATING TO KEEP CHECKING THE AIR IN OUR TIRES EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL DAYS AS I TOOK IT TO A TIRE DEALER AND THEY FOUND THERE WAS PROPER AIR IN THE TIRES ON 10/26/2020. IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE IF THE VEHICLE IS MOVING OR STOPPED.
2018 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID TOURING PURCHASED 9/25/20 WITH 44K MILES. WITHIN THE 2 WEEKS I'VE OWNED THIS CAR I HAVE ALREADY NOTICED TWO LARGE ISSUES. THE FIRST AND MOST DISHEARTENING IS THE TERRIBLY REDUCED GAS MILEAGE COMPARED TO WHAT IT'S RATED FOR. I'M TOPPING OUT IN THE LOW 30'S WHEN IT'S RATED FOR 47MPG. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THE LOUD HUMMING NOISE WHILE DRIVING. A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE SHOWS THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS ALSO HAVE BOTH THESE ISSUES.
WHEN I SLOW DOWN MY HYBRID 2018 HONDA ACCORD USING THE REGENERATIVE BRAKING PEDALS I REALIZED THE CAR SLOWS DOWN ENOUGH THAT THE FOLLOWING NEEDS TO BE WARNED BY BRAKE LIGHTS COMING ON. THE CURRENT DESIGN OF THE CAR THE BRAKE LIGHTS DON'T COME ON WITH REGENERATIVE BRAKING AND THIS CAN CAUSE REAR END COLLISION. *TR
THE REAR BRAKES ARE WORN TOO FAST AND ROTORS ARE ALREADY DAMAGED AT 19500 MILES. *TR
REAR SPEAKERS CONTINUE TO MAKE HORRIBLE SCRATCHY SOUND WHEN DRIVING AND USING AUDIO. SPEAKERS HAVE ALREADY BEEN AND PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IN MOTION, ON A CITY STREET OR A HIGHWAY, TURNING, BRAKING, ETC.
AFTER FILLING THE FUEL TANK, A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE WAS SMELLED IN THE CAR. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND AFTER 5 DAYS THEY STILL HAVEN'T FOUND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED TO DEODORIZE THE CAR EACH DAY AND VENTILATE IT USING FANS BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THE FUEL SYSTEM HAS BEEN CHECKED.
WHEN GOING AROUND A CORNER AND THE SWITCH FROM ELECTRIC TO GAS (HYBRID VEHICLE) OCCURS THE CAR SEEMS TO STALL AND CONSEQUENTLY LOOSES SPEED FOR A SECOND OR TWO. THIS HAPPENS WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP AND AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
REPEATEDLY AT RANDOM INTERVALS DURING HOT & COLD WEATHER I HEAR LOUD BUZZING VIBRATION SOUND COMING FROM AREA HOUSING HIGH VOLTAGE LITHIUM ION BATTERY!!! OVER THE PAST ONE YEAR. ALWAYS WHILE DRIVING AT 46 TO 52 MPH, NOW IN COLD WEATHER IS STARTING AT 35 MPH . I FEAR OVER HEATING OR FIRE FROM HIGH VOLTAGE LITHIUM ION BATTERY!!! I HAD THE DEALER REPLACE A MIC LOCATED IN THE CABIN AND NOT PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED, 7 DIFFERENT TECHNICIANS AT HONDA HAD HEAR THIS NOISE BUT THEY DON"T KNOW WHAT IT IS. THIS IS BEEN HAPPEN SINCE THE CAR HAD 4200 MILES NOW IS 28000 AND IS GETTING WORST . PLEASE IF YOU HAVING THIS SIMILAR ISSUE TAKE THE TIME TO REPORT IT HERE SO HONDA CAN TAKE IT SERIOUS THIS CAN BE A FIRE HAZARD .
A LOUD HUMMING NOISE COMES OUT OF THE SPEAKER AND I BELIEVE I'VE IDENTIFIED AS BEING THE AUTOMATIC NOISE CANCELING SYSTEM. IT'S MALFUNCTIONING TO THE POINT THAT I HAVE TO OPEN A WINDOW SLIGHTLY TO GET IT TO TURN OFF. I FEEL LIKE IT'S AT SUCH A DECIBEL THAT I'M HAVING HEARING LOSS FROM IT.
THE VEHICLE MAKES A DRONE LIKE HUMMING NOISE. DEALER SAYS THEY ARE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE AND I SHOULD REPORT THE PROBLEM TO HONDA. NOISE HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN DRIVING CAR AT ALL SPEEDS.
ON SUNDAY NIGHT (11/10/19) AROUND 5:15 PM, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE LEFT LANE OF A 2-LANE HIGHWAY AT ~55 MPH. THE CLOSEST VEHICLE WAS NO LESS THAN 5 CAR LENGTHS AHEAD OF ME. RANDOMLY, THE ORANGE "BRAKE" LIGHT CAME ON IN THE DASH AND THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES ALMOST TO A COMPLETE STOP CAUSING MY HEAD TO JOLT FORWARD. LUCKILY THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS ABLE TO STOP AS I STARTED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. I BELIEVE THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME OR ON THE ROAD THAT SHOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS SAFETY FEATURE TO ENGAGE. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY. I WOKE UP THIS MORNING IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN FROM MY NECK AND SHOULDERS DOWN TO MY LOWER BACK. THE PAIN HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND IS NOW RADIATING DOWN MY ARMS AND I HAVE LIMITED RANGE OF MOTION. LAST NIGHT, I FIGURED OUT HOW TO TURN OFF THE AUTOMATIC BRAKE FEATURE AND HAVE NOT TURNED IT BACK ON TODAY.
VEHICLE CRASH AVOIDANCE SYSTEM ERRONEOUSLY APPLIES BRAKES WHEN NO VEHICLE IS IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND CAUSES NEAR REAR END COLLISIONS WHILE MOVING ON LOCAL OR INTERSTATE ROADS. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS DELIVERED NEW.
(REGISTERING THIS COMPLAINT ON 16 SEP 19). I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW ('18 ACCORD HYBRID), 6 SEP 18. A COUPLE MONTHS LATER THE FRONT STRUTS STARTED MAKING A CREAKING/POPPING SOUND. IT WAS VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN BACKING OUT OF GARAGE AND THEN DRIVING OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD. WHEN I'D ROCK THE STEERING BACK AND FORTH, THE NOISE WAS VERY AUDIBLE. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID NEITHER FRONT STRUT HAD BEEN LUBED FROM THE FACTORY (VERY ODD), SO THEY LUBED THEM. 2-3 WEEKS LATER NOISE RETURNED. THIS TIME DEALER SAID ONE STRUT WAS BAD AND THEY REPLACED IT. A MONTH LATER THE SAME NOISE RETURNED. DEALER SAID I HAD A BENT CONTROL ARM AND ASKED ME IF I HAD HIT SOMETHING. I HADN'T AND TOLD THEM SO. AFTER INSPECTION THEY SAID THEY FOUND NO DAMAGE BUT THAT THE CONTROL WAS BENT AND CONCLUDED THAT IT WAS BENT FROM THE FACTORY OR WAS DAMAGED DURING SHIPPING. DEALER REPLACED IT. BUT THEN 3-4 WEEKS LATER SAME NOISE RETURNED. I HAVE ABOUT HAD IT WITH THIS PARTICULAR CAR (I HAVE HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR MANY 'OTHER' ISSUES ALSO: TWO RECALLS, ELECTRICAL ISSUES, NAVIGATION ISSUES, THE ENGINE'S BATTERY WAS FAULTY, AND THE MILEAGE HAS STEADILY DROPPED BY 25% SINCE I BOUGHT AND TOOK DELIVERY OF IT IN SEP, 2018). SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE WOULD DISCUSS THESE ISSUES WITH HONDA AREA REP (LAST WEEK), BUT HAS YET TO GET BACK TO ME AS OF 16 SEP 19. AMONG ALL THE PROBLEMS, THE SUSPENSION HAS BEEN ONGOING OVER THE LAST 10-11 MONTHS. WEST HILLS HONDA HAS MADE THREE ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT THE SUSPENSION PROBLEMS BUT ALL HAVE FAILED. THE SUSPENSION NOISE IS STILL PRESENT AS OF 16 SEP 19. VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 8700 MILES.
I WAS TURNING RIGHT INTO THE PARKING SPACE FOR MY CAR AT MY HOME WITH MY FOOT RESTING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND GOING AT A VERY SLOW SPEED. THEN SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. I HAD TO STEP HARD ON THE BRAKE, WHICH MADE IT VEER TO THE RIGHT. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE CAR STOP JUST SHORT OF HITTING OUR OTHER CAR. THIS HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE ABOUT A MONTH AGO WHEN I WAS DRIVING IN MY DRIVEWAY, AGAIN AT A VERY SLOW SPEED, THIS TIME GOING STRAIGHT, WHEN THE CAR ACCELERATED FOR NO REASON. AGAIN, I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BY SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES.
STARTED THE CAR AND WAS IMMEDIATELY RECEIVED 4 MESSAGES: "LKAS: LANE KEEPING ASSIST SYSTEM PROBLEM. SEE YOUR DEALER.". "ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM. SEE YOUR DEALER.", "BLIND SPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM PROBLEM. SEE YOUR DEALER.", "AUTO HIGH_BEAM PROBLEM. MANUAL CONTROLS AVAILABLE. SEE YOUR DEALER.". TURN SIGNALS DID NOT WORK. HAZARD LIGHTS DID NOT WORK. TRUNK RELEASE DID NOT WORK. BACKUP CAMERA DID NOT WORK. CAME BACK AFTER 30 MINUTES OR SO AND ALL DISPLAYED FAILURES WERE GONE AND THE TRUNK OPENED. MY DAUGHTER SAID THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE FUNCTIONING WHEN I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE AND EVEN THOUGH THE BACKUP CAMERA DID NOT TURN ON THE BACK UP SENSORS APPEARED TO BE OPERATING.

WE HAVE NO WAY TO CHECK HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY. 2. OCTOBER 2018 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID RECALLS FOR "HIGH VOLTAGE LITHIUM ION BATTERY" WERE FOR COMPUTER RESET CODES(????) WHATEVER THAT MEANS. 3. NEITHER HONDA NOR NHTSA SHOW ANY CONCERN! HELP! IS THERE ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE WITH A HONDA ACCORD HYBRID WHO HEARS THIS LOUD BUZZING VIBRATION FROM THE HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY? ANYONE ELSE FEAR FIRES FROM THE HIGH VOLTAGE LITHIUM ION BATTERY? 4. HIGH VOLTAGE LITHIUM BATTERY NEVER ACHIEVES FULL CHARGE! NEVER HOLDS MORE THAN 3 BAR SEGMENTS OUT OF 10 FOR CHARGE.

THE SAME PLACE OF THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE PILLARS. EACH INSTANCE COSTS APPROX. $1400 TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD (INCLUDES CAMERA RECAL). YOU CAN FIND NUMEROUS INSTANCES ON THE INTERNET OF BASICALLY THE SAME THING HAPPENING TO OTHER ACCORD (AND HYBRIDS) OWNERS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT COULD AFFECT THE SAFETY SYSTEMS MOUNTED IN THE WINDSHIELD. EITHER THE GLASS IS SPECED WRONG OR DEFECTIVE OR THE DESIGN IS TORQUEING THE GLASS MORE THAN ITS DESIGNED TO HANDLE.
PARKING AT NURSERY SHOP, CAR WENT OUT OF CONTROL SPEEDING AND RUNNING OVER THE CONCRETE STOPER AND NURSERY FENCE. IT WAS A SUDDEN ACCELERATION AND VEHICLE COULD NOT BE STOPPED. THE CAR WAS MOVING IN SLOW MOTION TO PARK AND HAD A SUDDEN ACCELERATION THAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. VERY SCARY. TRIED TO STOP PRESSING THE BRAKES BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT RESPOND. NO INJURIES BUT IT COULD HAPPEN TO ANYONE ANYWHERE.
THE WINDSHIELD ON MY 2018 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID TOURING CRACKED SPONTANEOUSLY WHILE IT WAS BEING BACKED OUT OF A DOWNTOWN PARKING SPACE. IT HAS FEWER THAN 7,500 MILES ON IT. I'M TOLD THERE IS A 4 TO 8 MONTH BACKORDER FOR AN OEM REPLACEMENT - THE ONLY KIND THAT HONDA WILL ACCEPT IF I'M TO MAINTAIN THEIR WARRANTY.
VERY LOUD ROARING NOISE WHEN DRIVING ABOUT 52-54MPH (AND INTERMITTENTLY AT OTHER SPEEDS). THIS NOT ENGINE NOISE, BUT SEEMS TO A GLITCH IN THE AUTOMATIC NOISE CANCELLING SYSTEM THAT CAUSES A FEEDBACK LOOP RESULTING IN AN ALARMING ROARING SOUND THAT CAN CAUSE DRIVER TO PANIC OR OTHERWISE BE DISTRACTED FROM DRIVING SAFELY.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. NO OBJECT STRUCK THE GLASS TO CAUSE THE DAMAGE. THERE WAS VERY LITTLE GLASS INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND THE EXPLOSION APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN OUTWARD.
AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM (TPMS) NOT WORKING AS IT WAS INTENDED. I HAVE RECEIVED A WARNING INDICATION, WHEN DRIVING, THAT MY TIRE PRESSURE WAS LOW. I HAVE CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE AND FOUND THAT IT WAS EXACTLY WHERE IT SHOULD BE. OBVIOUSLY, THIS IS MOST DISCONCERTING WHEN THIS OCCURS. IT HAPPENED THIS PAST WEEKEND. FORTUNATELY, I NOW CARRY A TIRE GAUGE AND WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT THE WARNING LIGHT WAS IN ERROR. I HAVE ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE WITH THE HONDA DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW. OBVIOUSLY, THEIR "FIX" WAS NOT THE SOLUTION.
I PURCHASED A NEW 2018 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID ON JUNE 30, 2018 FROM HONDA OF KIRKLAND FOR MY DAUGHTER. ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2019, WHEN SHE WAS DRIVING BACK FROM CLASS ON A ROAD AT 35 MPH, THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM BRAKE WARNING FLASHED THEN BRAKED IMMEDIATELY, STOPPING THE CAR IN TRAFFIC. NO OBSTACLES OR CARS WERE IN FRONT OF HER. FORTUNATELY, THE CARS BEHIND HER WERE FAR ENOUGH AWAY THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO STOP. IN ADDITION, SHE TRIED TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC BY PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT RESPOND FOR SEVERAL MOMENTS AFTER THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING OCCURRED. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME FOR MY AROUND 2000 MILES ACCORD HYBRID. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS ABLE TO RESOLVE BY RE-POWER ON THE CAR BUT SECOND TIME IT WAS COMPLETELY FAILED. WE ALSO NOTICED THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM HAD FAILED, CALLED OUR DEALER & BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR REPAIR THE NEXT MORNING (JAN. 14, 2019); WE RECEIVED A LOANER SINCE THIS WAS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE (IT TOOK TWO DAYS FOR PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE). HONDA TOLD US THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE RADAR SENSOR. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA SEVERAL TIMES TO URGE THEM TO FIX THIS BUG, AS BRAKE LIGHTS SHOULD ALWAYS WORK AND NOT BE CONTROLLED BY SOFTWARE. HONDA HAS REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS SAFETY DEFECT NEEDS AN IMMEDIATE FIX, SO I AM DOCUMENTING IT SO THE US DOT CAN PRESSURE THEM TO FIX IT AS RAPIDLY AS POSSIBLE.
STEERING WHEEL STICKS AT 12 O'CLOCK, THEN FINALLY BREAKS FREE TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT AFTER APPLYING SIGNIFICANT PRESSURE. THE RESULTING JERK OF THE VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE ON THE HIGHWAY, AND VERY DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN STRAIGHT TRAVEL. HONDA DEALER IDENTIFIED THE STEERING GEAR BOX BINDING AND REPLACED IT. THE REPAIR RESOLVED THE ISSUED. HONDA NEEDS TO ISSUE A BULLETIN OR RECALL ON THIS FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHER OWNERS.

DEALERSHIP SHOWED ME PRINTOUT FROM COMPUTER BUT CUSTOMER RECEIPT SAID RESET SYSTEM ONLY AND DID NOT LIST OUT TROUBLE CODES (4 CODES RETRIEVED) VEHICLE NOW STOPS INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, PULLS ITSELF OUT OF THE LANE WHILE DRIVING, AND APPLE CAR PLAY SYSTEM NO LONGER WILL RECOGNIZE IPHONES (TRIED MULTIPLE) AND DEALER HAS VERIFIED ISSUE BUT JUST RESETS. INFOTAINMENT SCREEN LOST POWER AND SET WARNING MESSAGE FOR SAME WHEN DROPPED OFF AGAIN AT DEALERSHIP 2/26/19. HONDA HAS VERIFIED THIS ROARING NOISE PROBLEM ON MY VEHICLE AS WELL AS NUMEROUS OTHER 2018 ACCORD HYBRIDS, BUT HAS FAILED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, INFORMING ME ONLY THAT THEY ARE "SEARCHING" FOR A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. I AM USED TO THE ROARING NOISE NOW, AND KNOW WHEN TO EXPECT IT, BUT IF SOMEONE ELSE DRIVES MY CAR THEY WILL MORE THAN LIKELY REACT IN AN UNSAFE MANNER EXACTLY AS I DID DURING THE FIRST FEW NOISE OCCURRENCES.

THERE IS SOMETIMES AN AUDIO WARNING (BEEP) OFTEN TIMES IT WILL JUST RANDOMLY SHUT DOWN. I HAVE EXPERIENCED IT NO FEWER THAN 8 TIMES WHILE DRIVING SINCE AUGUST. IT HAS HAPPENED IN BOTH CITY DRIVING AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. IT ALWAYS OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. MOST INSTANCES HAVE OCCURRED WHEN USING MY MOTOROLA G5 PLUS CONNECTED VIA USB AND USING ANDROID AUTO FOR DIRECTIONS, HOWEVER, NOT EVERY INSTANCE. THE DEALERSHIP AND I HAVE BOTH DONE A FACTORY RESET ON THE HEAD UNIT IN THE VEHICLE, AS WELL AS HAD IT SERVICED FOR THE RECALL AND THE ISSUE STILL PERSISTS.

THIS IS NOT SAFE ON THE HIGHWAY AND ESPECIALLY IN THE RAIN. IT HASN'T SNOWED YET BUT I WOULD IMAGINE IT IS GOING TO VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE IT SAFELY IN THE SNOW WITH THIS MAJOR ISSUE.

THIS TIME WE WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 35 AND AS WE WERE ENTERING ONTO HWY COMING UP THE ON RAMP, WE HIT ANOTHER POTHOLE. NEITHER TIME WHEN THE TIRE BLEW DID WE ONLY BLOW ONE TIRE. IT IS STRANGE TO LOSE TWO TIRES AT THE SAME TIME ESPECIALLY MORE THAN ONCE . AFTER TALKING TO DEALER WE FOUND THAT THESE TIRES HAVE VERY THIN SIDEWALLS SO THEY WEIGH LESS. THEY SAID THIS IS TO HELP WITH GAS MILLAGE.MY CONCERN IS IF THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHER SPEEDS THIS COULD CAUSE CAR TO ROLL OR LOSE CONTROL. IN MY 40 PLUS YEARS OF DRIVING I HAVE NEVER EVEN LOST ONE TIRE DUE TO HITTING A POT HOLE PRIOR TO THIS VEHICLE. SO TO LOSE 4 TIRES WITHING A COUPLE MONTHS OF PURCHASE REALLY CONCERNS ME. WE HAVE UPGRADED OUR TIRES NOW TO THE THICKER SIDEWALLS BUT I WANTED TO LET OTHERS KNOW TO BE CAUTIOUS.
