I BOUGHT MY 1996 HONDA ACCORD EX ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON, BUT THAT IT WAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT THAT IT HAD BEEN CHECKED OUT AND NOTHING WAS WRONG. I DID SOME SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT THAT I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE WHO HAD AN ABS LIGHT PROBLEM. I TALKED TO MY HONDA DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE WORST CASE SCENARIO WAS AN ABS MODULATOR THAT WOULD COST 1,200+. WHEN I START MY CAR IT MAKES A FUNNY NOISE FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND THEN MY ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND THE NOISE STOPS. I WASN'T CONCERNED AT FIRST , BUT I FOUND OUT THAT I COULD CONTACT NHTSA AND SOME ACTION COULD BE TAKEN. IF MY ABS SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK AND I SLAM ON MY BRAKES AND THEY LOCK UP AND I HIT SOMEONE THEN I AM AT FAULT , BUT I COULD NOT HELP HITTING THEM IF MY BRAKES ARE LOCKED UP AND I AM STILL GOING. THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR MAYBE EVEN DEATH. I DO NOT HAVE 1,200+ TO FIX THIS. THE HONDA CO. SHOULDN'T HAVE USED FAULTY PARTS. COULD YOU PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AND LET ME KNOW SOMETHING. WHILE SITTING AT AN INTERSECTION WAITING FOR THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TO CHANGE ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE FROM BEHIND AND DRIVER'S AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY. DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. TS. *AK

THE ABS MODULATOR FAILED DUE TO A BRAKE FLUID LEAK. THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. *JB
WHEN STARTING ENGINE VEHICLE MAKES A LOUD "ROARING" NOISE THAT CEASES WHEN ANTI-LOCK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES. WARNING LIGHT THEN REMAINS LIT. DEALER HAS SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT REPAIR LASTS TEMPORARILY.*AK
ABS BRAKE MODULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 66K MILES ON THE VEHICLE, IT WAS TAKEN TO THE REPAIR SHOP TWO TIMES TO REPLACE THE PART DUE TO THE FACT THE FIRST NEW PART RECEIVED FROM HONDA WAS DEFECTIVE. THE ABS LIGHT HAD COME ON WHEN THE ENGINE WAS FIRST STARTED THEN WENT OUT. THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS INTERMITTENT. *MR *SCC *JB
CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO REMOVE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION WITH VEHICLE STILL IN DRIVE. AS A RESULT, VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN A HILL AND DAMAGED THE REAR END. *AK
CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO REMOVE KEY FROM THE IGNITION WITH VEHICLE STILL IN DRIVE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN A HILL, AND DAMAGED THE REAR END. *AK
BOTH LOWER BALL JOINTS CRACKED IN HALF, WHICH CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE AXLE. THE CONSUMER REPLACED BOTH BALL JOINTS. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
THE SRS LIGHT FOR THE AIRBAG ILLUMINATED AND WOULDN'T GO OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE MECHANIC AND THEY RESET THE SRS LIGHT, THEN THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. *PH THE 1995 HONDA ACCORDS HAD A RECALL ISSUE AND THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE PROBLEM MAY HAVE AFFECTED THE 1996 MODELS. *SCC *JB
DRIVER'S SEAT BELT DID NOT LATCH PROPERLY INTO THE BUCKLE. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK
CONSUMER REQUESTING REFUND FOR A REPAIR THAT WAS SUBJECT OF A PRIOR RECALL. *LA THE SERVICE CAMPAIGN WAS ISSUED FOR THE FRONT BALANCER SHAFT OIL SEAL REPLCAEMENT. THE CONSUMER NEVER RECEVED ANY NOTIFICATION ABOUT THE PROBLEM. ONLY AFTER REQUESTING SERVICE FOR A MAJOR OIL LEAK DID THE CONSUMER BECOME AWARE OF THE RECALL. *PH *NM
VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER BECAUSE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS MAKING A WHINING NOISE. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT TRANSMISSION MUST BE REPLACED. *AK
WHILE STOPPING AN ONCOMING VEHICLE TRAVELING 60 MPH STRUCK CONSUMER'S VEHICLE HEAD ON. UPON IMPACT, FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. *AK
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT INTERMITTENT ACCELERATION. IT OCCURRED UNEXPECTEDLY. CONSUMER WAS PARKING VEHICLE IN A HANDICAP PARKING SPACE WHEN IT ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. CONSUMER LOST CONTROL AND VEHICLE SMASHED INTO A FENCE. *AK
